If I’ve learned anything from reading Marvel Comics it’s that sometimes in order to fix a plot hole you yourself created through rewrites you just gotta… shove an entire alternate dimension’s canon into the main timeline of the story to retcon a minor detail by introducing the characters from that other dimension 😌

I think we, as a fandom need to think more about the fact brink is canon (I havnt finished Edge yet so most of this is based on Brink (the first one) and like halfway into Edge)

Thats a story, detailing and mentioning that town of people by their full names. Detailing versions of things that have happened in their lives, emotions they have felt in their lives.

When was this written? Before the war? Is it a book written by the records itself? some sort of twisted history book? If it was written before the war its some sort of prophecy then? And the fact that no one bats an eye when edge is bought up, VEN doesnt bat an eye when edge is bought up, thats the one where HE BY FULL NAME venear atlan, is introduced and no one, NO ONE thinks twice about this book? No one draws the uncanny connection between Raemond Morningstar and Rae Morningstar??? No one thinks about the fact this is a book about THEM?

WHO WROTE THIS BOOK??? Does no one think about that? who wrote this book describing an even more twisted and traumatic version of events that happened in their lives? Is it someone there? Someone they know? Honestly I cant tell which is better or worse

I KNOW it was probably made canon as a hahaha funny bit look this fanfic is canon. but in reality, that book should be terrifying to the characters. The fact that it exists should be terrifying

Another great think about Brink! Is that I can finally say: oc voice claim!

One of my OCs/ his culture speaks so clearly that every letter in the word can be heard. If he were to "slur" his words he'd speak how you'd hear someone casually blurr letters together or not pronounce them as crisp.

Example: let's take the word "letter". Usually you'd hear people say it "ledder" as they blur the sound together, but with this OC you'd hear the T's.

The reason I bring Brink to this is because of how Connor says (mainly) the titles of the chapters... "EighTeeN EIghTy Nine" nice and crisp, a little asmr-y, that how they talk!

Not souch a voice claim, I guess more speech pattern, but yeah, shout out to Connor for providing that visual😂

What if I said that hypothetically Brink and Caught Between Collapsing Skies take place in the same universe. Just for funsies. What’s stopping me. Maybe all my fics are secretly in the same universe, who knows. Maybe it’s all connected. Maybe it’s all part of a plan- /j

I may be reworking my brink fashion history post and using it for a writing scholarship application… this’ll be interesting for sure.
