It's when people say "Chayannne should ignore phil and hang out with Tubbo more to feel better," that has driven me up the wall in these conversations. Not only at that point is this some sort of weird projection thing they've got going on, but it also make it clear how little they know or really care about Chayanne. bc Chayanne does need emotional support, and I feel like ANY q!tubbo knows that Chayanne AIN'T getting that from him. he gets to just chill with Tubbo, sure, but to say Tubbo should basically replace Phil shows a complete lack of understanding Chayanne and the entirety of the Death family. it just feels really.... ick

I'm the reverse of you, a Crow and sometimes Tubbling (I've watched them both 4+ years tho).

And not only that!!! It's a complete mischaracterization of qTubbo too!!!! Don't even get me STARTED. That man is here to vibe and roll with the punches. He handles things very dryly and copes with humor. That is NOT what Chayanne needs!! They're not only ignoring Chayanne's characterization, they're blatantly disregarding what they KNOW about qTubbo because they watch fucking him!!!! Dare I say out of spite, purely because they hate Phil that much. They did the same shit with Leo and Foolish before Town of Fobo. It's two faced as hell.

And I'm too hated by a little cluster of Tubblings here on Tumblr to even bother saying much else about the way they all horrifically mischaracterize qTubbo bc I don't want that drama. 😭 But omg they butcher that man AND Phil, because they hate Phil. It's wild. Like are we watching the same stream??? Be so fr.

One thing I will sa is that my friends and I kinda realized the age difference has a huge influence on it all. They think Phil's "old" so he should have the perfect solution every time all the time. Whereas they can't stop infantalizing and babying Tubbo to save their fucking life so he's "trying his best" or whatever. It's tiring. Treat that fucking 20 year old like a 20 year old!!! He's not your little uwu cozy snowy town goat boy teenager from dsmp anymore!!!

And dare I touch the hornet's nest of A Lot Of Their Babying is because of Tubbo's neurodivergence in & out of rp, and his in-rp trauma. The infantalization and woobification of nd people and people with trauma in fandom. But what else is new, let's be honest.

mans is lowkey doing thru therapy with the Deathlings. I think they are going to rehabilitate him?

right off the bat we got some flashbacks with religious trauma. nice nice

dang so the whole "pythia" thing is lowkey just a cult. they brainwashed him

i fully expected for Toms to tell Phil about his name. like thats gonna fvck wil up:/ lot of points that he is gonna be torn between, he is protecting me but also he is the thing i need protecting from.

i feel like im missing something. tubbo said he has more tattoos = takes more risks? i feel like this is a symbol for like, near death expirences, maybe this is why Niki didnt want to tell wil what her tattoo was? idk, just a thought:P

now are the deathlings actually doing the therapy or is it just tommy. because it's kind of just tommy lmao at least atm. he keeps quiet about a lot of the stuff he's finding out about wilbur and wilbur himself barely says shit to anyone that's not tommy sooooo

the flashbacks were very fun (and sad) for me to write so thank eli birdfeet for giving me the idea. also yeah the pythia thing is definitely brainwashing

oh yeah in an earlier chapter (I think chapter 3?) niki and tommy told wilbur about how a lot of the tattoos deathlings have represent near death experiences they've had. if you go back and reread the end of that chapter things will probably make a lot more sense! (also note: not all tattoos the deathlings have represent near death experiences. most of tommy's tattoos do represent these, but other characters like phil and techno and jack have a mix of normal tattoos and near death experience tattoos)

ranboo was literally just watching the argument go down like 🧍‍♂️

tubbo has some good points but also has some not so good points! it's a messy situation!

part 1

i completely forgot the bbh is in the badlands 😭😭 well, not anymore lmao

we're back in the badlands

and everything is good

well, almost everything

tommy admittedly misses his family and the arctic empire

and he takes it out on ranboo, who is always just there and helpful and has cool abilities and god it irritates tommy

he vents to sam about it during an outing to get some more supplies

sam chuckles, but tells him that tommy is lucky, that ranboo doesn't have a family he left behind, because they died

that's kind of a turning point for tommy, he realizes that the 'found family' there is in the badlands is like that because they don't have any blood family left

he realizes that one, somehow he cares ab the people in the badlands, and two, he's extremely lucky with everything in his life

(his family surviving, having a stable place to live, being rescued)

that's a big growing point for him, he picks fights less and tries to help more

and he becomes good friends with ranboo, as they are the only people their age in the badlands

sam is very proud of his lil basically adopted gremlin brother

it's very wholesome

feral boys time

they search intently, and decide to make their way west

but they get surrounded by a hoard bigger than they have ever encountered before

and they were down one man with george staying with tubbo

it ends up with karl injured, he wasn't scratched, thankfully

but it slows down their pace significantly

they get into an argument, sapnap and quackity wanting to turn back and come back when karl was healed

but dream and punz are adamant they can make it

they make it another week, but karl's injuries get infected

which leads them to decide to cut across a desert towards where the maps indicate a small town

at the very least they could get some supplies and then turn around

but a man on a horse cuts them off

and points a crossbow at karls skull, taking him hostage

it's then they realize that the man isn't a man

but a boy

with purple eyes

dream promises him protection if he lets karl go

the purple guy doesn't care ab protection, he cares about money and supplies

dream tells him that money's worthless if he's dead

(me rn: and u get a brother! and u get a brother! and y-)

anyways the purple boy, who refuses to tell them his name, so they call him purpled, takes them to his house

and honestly, dream is kinda impressed by how many riches the kids seems to have stolen

they find and give karl antibiotics and clean out his wounds

and purpled tells them ab a place, not far from there, where a man named sam might be able to help

they decide to leave at the end of the week

and spoiler, dream basically kidnaps purpled

fr tho, what's with all the teenagers surviving by themselves?

god this is so long but heyo we back in the arctic empire

phils getting antsy about tommy still being gone, and the lack of word or message from the feral boys

george tells him to be patient

but hes a man missing his son, obviously that isn't going to help

he tells george that if his friends cant find tommy, him and tubbo need to leave

george thinks its ridiculous, bc tommy was the one that left and the feral boys were working at a disadvantage since they left after

but any disagreements just make it worse

wilbur finds out and argues with his dad ab it, but phil is stubborn

and he promises george that if him and tubbo have to leave, he'll go with them

george asks him why he would do that for them

and wilbur is just like, well you're my friend, and that's what i do for my friends :)

why george feels hurt by the term 'friend' he doesn't know, but he doesn't dwell on it and tells wilbur he appreciates him

hhh it's really long again, but i'll work on a part 3 haha

Omg yes exactly. Tubbo is just so great ugh it's so nice having someone so distinct from tommy in that sense, you can see he was way more against c!tubbo dying than tubbo himself! It has always been like that, with techno, with dream, he really learnt to be the resilient one after all that. It kind of bugs me when ppl say tommy doesn't care about his trauma and the other way around. Bench trio was so supportive of each other on that stream before wilbur was revived ?? There are few thing like tubbo saying he would do anything for tommy and even going like "why are you making plans and not telling me about them?" when he was still hiding the "kill dream plan" that just shows how much tubbo is willing to be there for him no matter what u know? That last one is almost as if he was saying like,, after all they have been through, there's no way tommy needs to hide something from him now. It hurts how (probably ??) fake c!wilbur is giving him safety now using the excuse that everybody tommy loves can also be safe there. Just UGHDFJJFF I love c!tubbo man. He's so great and bench trio has like by far one of the best chemistry on the smp bc they are so alike in so many things and also so different, personality wise but still SO SUPPORTIVE. I love them!

And YES that line from tommy!! C!wilbur lost so much like, tommy has said before that he was used to following ppl and now he has to follow himself and the way c!wilbur seems to not see that just drives me crazy. He was so in awe with big q accomplish with las nevadas and even said that the only thing tommy put effort into it (the hotel) failed like KDOFKF NO MAN. He didn't saw shit that happened and it's like out there pretending he knows. But like, what do you think it's that whole "I'm your servant" thing? Reminded me so much of him talking to dream before and it just makes me think he's still wanting to stick it to the man,,, but like, a different man now bc Quackity seems the most powerful now fr him ?? Idk, and the way he totally ignored when tommy said what Quackity was doing in the prison like... idk if that was intentional but knowing cc!wilbur, I don't think he would ignore it for nothing. Idk man everything that's happening is just so interesting and I miss techno already so like can we pls PLEASE get the arsonists together for a few seconds,,, withou dream breaking out of the prison pls,,, 🧨

i feel like all the takes of 'this character doesn't care/undermines that character's trauma' and of similar variety tend to lead back to the audience metagaming? like we, watching cc!tubbo's stream, see the subtle hints of c!tubbo having trauma but bottling it up, how is c!tommy supposed to know that his best friend has been affected as much as he has been by everything that happened when c!tubbo just keeps it all to himself? of course from c!tommy's perspective c!tubbo will have 'thicker skin' when he compares it to how he himself has been reacting to all the fucked up shit he went through. even though i feel like c!clingy duo has been kinda drifting apart in s3 i don't think it's a bad thing? tommy has been really dependent on tubbo's existence at the end of s2 to an unhealthy degree - 'what am i without you?' but it's so obvious they still deeply care for each other even if they haven't shared as many moments as in s1 and s2 and i find it really sweet how ranboo is the one that kinda brought them back together when you look back at the early s3 and how rarely they interacted. i just really love the c!bench trio dynamic man.

and that line from wilbur really rubbed me the wrong way because he's so obviously just using the promise of safety for the ones tommy cares about to keep him on his side, but they already have that safety? in snowchester and the arctic and i hope c!tommy realizes that sooner than later. also there’s just something about c!wilbur using the family card after that conversation they had in the camarvan in the museum. despite seemingly changing so much during his time in the void i feel like wilbur can’t comprehend that others had changed too? idk. the servant line did give me the vassal convo vibes!! and he’s definitely trying to ‘stick it to the man’ with the whole las nevadas thing. he’s so petty - quackity didn’t want to work with him so he creates a new ‘hq’ on the equivalent of quackity’s front lawn and it’s fucking hilarious. and i honestly can’t tell if tommy dropping the comment about the torture was intentional or not but still c!wilbur seems to just zone in and out of that whole conversation when a possibility of being able to visit dream becomes reality, only tuning back in when more info about the visitation system is dropped? so i wouldn’t be surprised if he just didn’t hear the comment c!tommy made too caught up already thinking how he can see his hero. and i too really want to see the interactions between techno and wilbur especially since both of them want to visit dream now?
