No one could say Dr Jona Ohnn suddenly and completely disappearing from their lab came as a shock. Jona themself had arranged that in that exact scenario 7 months into their disappearance their funeral was to be held, rather than the typical 7 years. They figured that given the danger of their work it would just be easier to get it out of the way quickly. And also that it would be funnier if they did reappear.

They weren’t wrong.

At their funeral, childhood friends recounted with tears in their eyes how they’d unconsciously clamber onto tables to get a better look at science experiments. “Dr Ohnn was like the protagonist of a horse girl movie when it came to science. They knew all the dangers, but those dangers were always worth it to them.” No matter what bizarre theoretical physics puzzle had finally done them in, Jona had undoubtedly been happy to go out like that.

Being a friendly person not taken to keeping secrets or hiding their feelings, Dr Ohnn’s friends were right. As they were ripped apart within a portal of their own creation, Jona was sad only that their research would have to end there.

But then it didn’t.

And Dr Ohnn is oh, oh so very pleased.

They only need some funding now, easily acquired with their new abilities. Just a little more funding. A little more.

The Spot might not be a great nom de plume but hey, they’ve never been a terribly serious person, so it’ll work while they get through the boring part of their work.

#they pronounce Jona basically identically to ‘Jonah’ but Jonah looks too masculine written down #relatedly The Spot’s pronouns are Any/All #which they didn’t actually realize until after the accident #up until then they’d basically never be gendered female and only been gendered neutrally rarely/on request #but no matter how they present themself now no one looks at The Spot and goes. oh yeah that’s definitely X gender #which made Jona realize that all pronouns are good for them #as long as it’s not the same ones over and over again #I’m just using they/them only for consistency #since at their funeral their friends all would have used they/then #my art #the spot #jona ohnn #<- in early drafts I kept accidentally misspelling their last name as ‘Olm’ so fun foreshadowing for The Lizard when he comes up #spiderman villain redesigns #specter spider au

So. Murder Drones X Rain world idea? From this post?

Yeah I did concept Doodles woooooooooooooo letsago- (also. Rot warning.)

Ah yes, Drones into Slugcats! Simple enough design tho I might change that arm pattern when I do more hard-line, non conceptual doodles of em.

Also Fluff / Fur = hair? Yeh seems fitting

PURPOSED ORGANISMS GO BRRRR-

Like from the other post about this au idea, We got combinations of other species going on! And a bit of a rot problem..

Honestly, knowing the uh. origins + assumed process of worker drones to disassembly drones.. the rot absolutely made sense here, along with Miros Vulture Wings and the like.

Defo changing the stinger later though. Not fully decided on its look, tbh. I would Like to imagine that, instead of Nanites or whatever.. its just FULL ON VOID FLUID. Absolute Karma will find loop holes around the cycle, lol..

oh yeah. Speaking of-
