It feels like it was only yesterday I read about Oscar getting a mermaid girlfriend and now there's Ikasumi. I ship it, though! I'm curious what happened to the mermaid girl. Also, I think I'm experiencing what the rest of the guild is feeling when it comes to Oscar's lovelife, like since when was this a thing I want deets 😂
FUN FACT: HE STILL HAS THE MERMAID GF TOO!!!!!!!! this is what i mean when i say oscar has that playboy streak!!!!!!! hes like "Oh we have [problem]? I know someone who can help! ^^" AND ITS ONE OF HIS EX-GIRLFRIENDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and FOR REAL this is oscars running joke. he always has things going on that for some reason he doesnt tell anyone about and doesnt bring up?? 1) his girlfriend changes often and 2) his other running joke is hes always doing part-time work at some different job every so often. mochi and coco go outfit shopping, trying to pick clothes, mochi like "What do you think of this color on me?" and oscar, somehow working at that clothes shop, out of nowhere is like "Nice it brings out your eyes!"
mochi & lime after some magic commission exhausted in a far off town, go to get dinner and sit down and the server (oscar) is like "Hey guys! I can get you a discount since I work here!" when theyre like "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU EVEN DOING HERE???" he replies "Oh me? My uncle lives nearby and im visiting him for the weekend so i decided to help out at their diner. Pretty cool, huh?"
they go to some festival happening in town, walking around stalls and theres oscar managing one of those hacked, rip-off game booths like "Hey Mochi! We have this fluffy cat stuffed animal that looks like your style! Maybe you can solicit Lime into winning it for you! (overworld challenge noise)" (which turns into an aggressive "I'm gonna win that fucking cat." vs "I own this damn game and you're gonna empty your pockets before I let you win it.")
anyway, oscar is a psuedo-cryptid in his own right.

(oh my girlfriend wanted to visit her friends so we took a trip!)#all his little jobs also means hes loaded#makes sense for the guy that bought a storefront home in the middle of downtown capitol city#his vibes are venti-like where they seem so sweet and nice but theres something obviously off about them#and anytime you question it youre hit with the old reliable (ehe)#actually a very real thing may be that we dont see oscars full love subplot play out in the story#may be just hints that it would go in a certain direction but it is left in the air#oscar hits me as the type thats not obsessed with romance the way the others essentially are#the only normal fucking person in the story#besides the arm

my current dying tablet is a Wacom Bamboo Fun (CTH-461) — it's my second one technically. The first one I had for about 5 years was my first tablet, from like? 2011 or 2012 to 2016?? the replacement was the same model, from 2016 to now
it's very much an entry-level, small tablet in the $80-100 range (or at least, i paid $80 for it), and they stopped making it years ago (actually when i bought my second one in 2016, they were already no longer making them lol i just lucked out)
It's small, barely under 6"x4", 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity, etc., very much out of date by now
Look at that mid 2000s chunky piece of tech. Like I said, it's dying, pretty much the same way (cable issues) as the first one now after nearly 7 years (not a bad run! it's served me well and I've dropped it off of my bed many... many times, i'm surprised it actually lasted longer than my first one)
But thanks to bluef00t (thanks again a million times) I'm upgrading, though of course still in the $80 range, to a Huion HS611 so it will be interesting to use a modern, not 10+ year old model of drawing tablet for the first time—
am EXTREMELY curious to see what it's like to draw on something with 8x the pressure sensitivity and 2x the resolution of what I've been using for the past 11-12 years LOL leaving the stone age and entering the age of steel
i've also never used a pen with tilt so that should be interesting?? i don't think it has an eraser tip on the end, but tbh i've been using my bamboo's eraser less and less frequently and just using the nib end with transparency so i'm not too miffed about that (5 years ago it would have been a deal breaker though)
its active area is also 10"x6" which I am definitely looking forward to. My Bamboo is fine, it's not tiny, but it's def cramped, so nearly doubling the size to something a little more spacious sounds very nice...
#also the media keys sound very useful and—it's cute :)#i have heard that part of the low prices for huion are basically there's no QA it's just the customer#So hopefully I don't get a defective one but I am hoping Newegg has marginally better customer support as i read that Huion's is#well essentially nonexistent for the most part (though some people have had good experiences)#it does appear to be an official storefront not a third party seller and it ships from newegg and I've never had problems with them so#fingers crossed i won't need customer support at all though#might have to be more careful not to drop this pen though LMAO need to glue it to my hand i'm so clumsy and tablets are so slippery#literally i've dropped my bamboo off the side of my bed dozens of times in the past year alone it just slides right off#or the pen flies out of the loop holder because again it is almost 7 years old and stretched out a little so it's less secure#and i've read that huion's pens are a little more fragile or have a graphite core or something that can break so??? i'll try not to drop it#nadia rambles
