QOTS Rewatch - 2x12 - Todas las Horas Hieren

Man, by the time we get to this point in each of the first three seasons my poor Jeresa-shipping heart is just depleted. All three seasons start out strong and then everything just utterly deteriorates for them by the end 😂 Can we just get to season 3 already please? But no, no, because season 2 is my favorite season and actually this episode does have great Teresa content plus the epic train yard confrontation between Teresa and James (a confrontation that, as I put in the tags of one of the gifsets I reblogged for this episode, James no doubt replayed many times in his head while working for Devon for six months, lol).

I know I’ve said before that I generally find the strongest episodes are the ones with primarily Teresa-centric stories and scenes, and it’s because of the non-Teresa story lines in this episode that it isn’t in my opinion one of the strongest. (It’s not bad, but it drags a little.) Here’s a brief overview of the episode’s events:

Teresa gathers King George and Devon together and tells them she’s staying in the business and will be the connection to El Santo’s coke. She convinces them to leave Camila and partner with her.

James pays Camila another visit in prison. She orders him to jailbreak her and also, likening Teresa to a stray dog, says to “make sure there’s no food in the house” if Teresa tries to return home (meaning to make sure she doesn’t steal the coke). She does in fact get broken out of prison, but it turns out it’s not James that does it, but Epifanio, because Isabela begged him to bring her mother home.

Teresa, of course, plans to steal back her coke. She says to Pote that if she doesn’t, she won’t be able to make the payment to El Santo, and she’ll be dead. She manages to convince Lil T’s uncle and his gang to be her muscle with a promise of weapons and 10% of the coke. They steal the weapons from a Neo-Nazi ring that King George points them to and then follow James with what they think is Camila’s coke to an old train yard where she confronts James and makes off with the coke (which, as she’ll learn next episode, is fake).

Meanwhile, Pedro (Manuel Jimenez’s son) kidnaps Isabela and her boyfriend Kique (Boaz’s son) and holds them ransom for $5 million.

And finally, at the end of the episode, one of El Santo’s Angels catches up to Teresa and Pote. She’s late with his payment, and the Angel, holding a knife dripping with blood, tells Teresa to come with her. Dun dun dun.....

Ok, so obviously the main story arc here is Teresa scrambling to get her foothold in the business, first locking in Devon and George, then finding herself some muscle, and finally hijacking (what she thinks is) the coke from James, and giving him quite a compelling pitch to join her too in the process. I watched this episode a few times for this rewatch and man, it is hard to find any shreds of the James that was willing to lie to Camila to protect Teresa. His first line in the episode--in response to Camila’s “I brought her into our family, let her sleep under my roof” (which, can we just pause for a second to agree on how completely delusional she is?? you KIDNAPPED her! held her against her will!!!!)--is “well what did you expect after she called the DEA to save you? Once someone’s in bed with the feds, you can’t ever trust them.” Um, okay James. And then HE warns Camila that “sometimes dogs try to return home,” to which Camila responds to make sure there’s no food in the house. I’m sorry but a James that is warning Camila about Teresa potentially coming to try to steal her coke isn’t a James who is trying to protect Teresa anymore. It’s almost like he’s now trying to shut down all his feelings and is doing everything he can to just go back to cartel lieutenant auto-pilot.

Then, when Teresa’s following him to the train yard, she calls him to ask him for half the coke and half the money. He says, “you gave up claim to anything when you went after Camila. You could’ve walked away. I gave you that chance.” When she presses him, he retorts, “the only thing you’ll get from me is a bullet.” And then he proceeds to switch out the coke on her, endangering her life.

Now granted, part of why he’s pissed is that at this point, he thinks she’s the one who kidnapped Camila. But how can he possibly begrudge her “going after Camila” when Camila sent sicarios after her? How can he possibly find it unfair for her to fight back?? She literally told him in the car in the rain scene that if Camila went after her, her paperwork tying Camila to Colibri Trawlers would go straight to the DEA. So there is literally nothing shocking about any of this, and James should not be pissed. EVEN if Teresa were the one who broke Camila out of jail, the guy has no reason to be acting betrayed!

I really have been trying to get myself into James’s mind in this episode, try to understand where he’s coming from. It definitely feels personal. The most generous interpretation I can come up with is that there’s a bunch of different things going on for him here. The main thing is that he’s, again, not betraying Teresa, but being loyal to Camila. Why isn’t he choosing small ways to protect her from Camila again like he’s done many times over the last two seasons? Well, probably because it’s different now that Teresa is acting against Camila, not just to try to escape her, but specifically try to harm her. That means protecting Teresa in any way is directly at odds with his loyalty towards Camila. And given his values, of which--as we all know--loyalty is the main one, he doesn’t really see that he has much choice here.

The other thing I suspect might be going on for him here is that he’s actually terrified for her. Of course he has no intention of physically harming her himself. He says he’ll put a bullet in her, but there is less than a snowball’s chance in hell that he will actually do that. But he’s afraid for her. He’s upset that she’s trying to claw her way back in. He’d hoped that letting her walk away from him in the car the other day would mean she’d get a head start, get away. But instead she’s now trying to start a war with Camila (which, obviously, Camila started, but of course he can’t be angry at Camila because he’s her loyal soldier), and James is pissed about it. She could get herself killed and he wouldn’t be able to help her.

Do I think it’s fair of him to direct this anger at her? No. Do I think his strict loyalty to Camila in this episode is at odds with him telling Guero in the next one that he “would never hurt her”? Yes, I do, though I also genuinely think he was trying to toe the line as best he could. He clearly had enormous respect for her competence and ability to keep herself alive, as evidenced by the facts that (1) he figured she would come up with a clever plan to try to hijack Camila’s coke, and (2) he thought she was the one who had broken Camila out of prison.

Anyway, then they come face to face in the train yard. I wrote tags on numerous gifsets of this scene and I just wanted to call out a few things: one, as I said here, I absolutely love the cave callback in James shooting out the field lights so Teresa couldn’t see in the dark, and then Teresa sending in a van with high beams on so James would be blinded by the light. Two, the energy between them in that train is so intense. Incredibly, despite the fact she thinks he’s just played a major part in trying to get her killed (Trackergate), she’s asking him to come work with her, she’s saying there’s a better way to do it, and she knows the way Camila does it isn’t actually who James is at his core. And the way he reacts to her is just heartbreaking. Part of what’s heartbreaking to me is that he knows she doesn’t actually have Devon because he’s outsmarted her on the coke. So she’s not in quite the position of strength she thinks she is. Ugh that just hurts me so much, I hate to see Teresa being tricked lol. But then the deeper part of his reaction is his resistance to seeing himself as someone worth believing in. He can’t tolerate being seen that acutely. He can’t handle that she’s finally looking at him in full, seeing the soft part of him, especially now when he’s trying to bury that softness in order to stay true to the part of himself he values most.

Soooo then he shoots at her. Of course it was just to spook her, not to hurt her, and I think even she knows that because she starts trying to run after him but then Pote shows back up. I’ll get to Pote in a minute, because DUDE WHAT THE FUCK I can’t believe he just left her for half the episode, but anyway I sure would like to know what would’ve happened if Pote hadn’t interrupted her trying to chase after James. I guess we’ll never know, but to me it seemed more like she was determined to try to talk sense into him than that she suddenly wanted to kill him. Teresa really saw through all the shit she’d gone through over this episode and the previous one, to the core of who he actually was, and she was just so determined that he was worth it that she was willing to chase him down. *shivers*

Ok I know this is getting super long but I really wanted to add just two more things here with respect to Teresa and her important relationships:

First of all, I think the events of this episode do lay the groundwork for her ability to believe James was the mole in season 3. But maybe not in the obvious way. I don’t think it’s because James’s actions proved him to be untrustworthy to her. If they had been, then she wouldn’t have stood there in front of him in that train and tried with all her might to get him to come with her. If anything, the fact that his sense of loyalty ran so deep that he would choose that loyalty over his own (obvious) heart would’ve told her all she needed to know about his trustworthiness. No, I think that the reason these end-of-season-2 episodes laid the groundwork for her to mistrust him later on is that she learned the hard way that she couldn’t actually rely on her normally crazy-accurate people-reading intuition with him. She was too close to him emotionally and her emotions did affect her judgment when it came to James. Both with the tracker (that she’d had no inkling that James had put a tracking device in the gameboy) and with the coke switch (that she’d had no idea he was a step ahead of her and anticipated her strategy). Both of those things rattled her. But again, not because they proved him to be untrustworthy to her, but because it proved to her that her own judgment about him was unreliable. So then come season 3, when it’s obvious there’s a mole very close to her in her operation, James becomes the obvious choice--not because he’s betrayed her before, but because she’s afraid of her own emotions making her vulnerable.

And now, I want to talk about Pote. This episode kind of made it clear to me that I didn’t really like his character. Obviously in the pilot episode I didn’t like his character. Then at the end of season 1 he seems to redeem himself somewhat--at least enough to cheer for her that she’s acquired him as a bodyguard. But then there are enough sketchy moments in season 2 (jumping her in her room in 2x02 to teach her a lesson; telling Guero about her rape; etc.) that I started giving him a serious side-eye. And then finally in this episode I really wanted to flip him the bird. Here are all the shitty things he said or did in this episode alone:

when asked his opinion on Teresa leaving Camila to start off on her own, he says, “everyone has a right to the throne, if they can take it.” Okkkkkk. Way to undermine her in front of her potential business partners.

he continues to undermine her decisions this episode, telling her giving guns to thugs is stupid, that she shouldn’t have made the deal with a “psychopath” (El Santo), etc. (and btw he’s wrong about all the shit he questions her about), and then when she’s finally like look if you’re not going to help me, then leave, he leaves.

oh and then he calls Guero to try to dissuade her from going ahead with the coke heist?? Yeah, no.

and finally, when he decides to show up again at the last minute in the train yard fight (almost blowing off James’s head when he does)? Does he apologize for being unfair or for disappearing on her? No, of course not. He just insults her again, saying he wishes he could say it was harder to follow her.

So I’m over Pote by now. He has his good moments for sure, and yeah this is all his sicario training bleeding through, but while that might be sicario material, it’s not friend material.

I do love her so much for looking him dead in the eye and saying: “If you’re not gonna help me, please leave. I’ll take care of myself, like I did when Gato raped me, and you stood there watching.” Idk if I ever loved her more, in fact. That is brave. It is an act of self-love, even. Standing up for her own wounded parts.

Alright, where are we at here. I don’t know where I’m going with this anymore 😂 Ok, just a few more random thoughts to round this out.

The kidnapping is probably Isabela’s most interesting story arc and it’s still not interesting enough to discuss in this recap lol.

I love how T just walks into Big T’s gym and commandeers him, like she does pretty much everyone. But even more than that, I love how she stares down Chucho, Big T’s number two, when Chucho sidles up to her to try to woo her. Idk how he got up the nerve to talk to her like that but he learned his lesson.

Guero calling her to try to tell her what’s best for her? Telling her to “stay out of trouble till I get there”? Pffffffft.

El Santo’s angel: sooooo cute, and sooooooooooooo creepy.

SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG I WAS FINISHING UP SOME GIFS ✨

First things first, that image lives in my mind rent free.

Second things second, please create an OC for George holy shit please yes?! George has already been romantically (or at least sexually, because Sable is a hoe) linked to Ellis Grant from @chlobenet (nothing ever came of it, George developed an infatuation and was perpetually rebuffed by our Lord and Saviour Miss Grant), @perfectlystiles' Laurel Chase, and @randomestfandoms-ocs' Reese Masrani. It is my goal to accumulate enough George Cassidy romantic interests that I can make a Wives of Henry the Eighth edit, so literally go nuts. Everyone, Create An OC To Thirst Over George Cassidy Challenge!

The best thing about George and the other Corpsemen is that the only thing that makes them Jurassic World OCs is that they happen to be hired there. It is by no means their entire story, and although they've been around for literally three days (?!) I keep thinking of more and more things about them and I keep building their backstories to the point where dinosaurs are literally the least craziest thing they've experienced.

If I were to sum up Clem and George's relationship in a gif, though:

(This got hella out of hand so keep reading under the cut if you want to know more about George and Clementine.)

A brief history on George "Sable" Cassidy and Clementine "Calico" Roscoe:

He is known as "George" to his friends, and "Cassidy" to his enemies. "Sable" when he's on the job, and "hers" when they're alone.

But it wasn't always like that. I'm not going to bore you with the details about George's fatherless upbringing, or his reasons for joining the British military, or how he'd always been a bit of a troubled kid. Where his story really begins is when he directly disobeys orders and murders the military hostages who were responsible for the attack on his unit. He is dishonourably discharged, and is sent back to the U.K. to await trial for murder and treason.

He manages an escape and goes dark; during which time, Clementine Roscoe, an agent at Interpol, is assigned his case. Unfortunately, after a year of searching (one close call where he was literally within breathing distance of Roscoe ) and a thousand too many mistaken sightings after that, the case goes cold, and she is assigned another case, one which results in the death of her entire family.

Clementine resigns from her position after she is denied leave to pursue the murderers, and spends the next few years methodically hunting down and executing the list of people she knew to be responsible. It was enough to impress Malcolm Drake, who located and recruited her into the Corpse Corporals (aka Gucci Suicide Squad).

All this time, Cassidy had been residing in Southern Africa, making a hefty living as a poacher under ever-changing pseudonyms (I had to make y'all understand that Sable is a bad man but y'all be forgiving Tom for murder and incest so here we are but honestly did it even work because here I am, being fooled, alongside you 😭). He runs a pretty decent operation, also dabbling in the smuggling of weaponry, and he lives a comfortable life. That is, until he is betrayed by his business partners (a brother-sister duo, FCs Megan Fox and Aidan Turner? Idk, still debating) and pushed out of the business under threat of death.

He is rescued by Malcolm, who has managed to track him down, and in exchange for his life spared, he agrees to work for Malcolm. His reunion with Clem is incredibly tense, with both of them pulling their guns on each other and refusing to work together. Malcolm snaps some sense into them (that, and the sum of the payload which had so many 0's added to the end, you couldn't be sure what the number really was other than "a lot") and they swallow their pride and work together.

They would continue to work together as Calico and Sable for the years to come, and when I say it is a slow burn, I do mean THE SLOWEST OF THE SLOW. But there is definitely a fuck ton of sexual tension thrown in there for angst, and a couple of near brushes with death (hazard of the job, really).

George is a prolific man whore, and he's bisexual and proud. So Clem has gotten used to an endless slew of people of all genders cumming coming and going from his hotel room, especially during the long cons where the Corpsemen go deep undercover for months at a time (Hector doesn't come on those jobs, he's got a family to worry about. He taps out at a month, max, if he doesn't get to leave to see his family).

George Cassidy is not a man who is used to not getting what he wants, but Clementine Roscoe is the only exception to that rule. He has come to view her as "unobtainable," this irreverent forbidden thing that he must not ruin. By the time the heat of their mutual hate had dissipated, it had turned into a friendship, and although there was an undeniable electric tension between them, they have never done anything about it. But it has that "will definitely be the best sex of your life" kinda energy.

They fight quite a lot, and disagree on almost everything. Have they tried to kill each other? Oh, absolutely. But they're also professionals, and although Clementine and George may be going at it, it never bothers Malcolm, because he knows that Calico and Sable will put those differences aside and do the damn job.

Clem only involves herself in George's sex life when it comes to people who she considers friends. She has the warnings already mentally scripted, because the thing about George Cassidy is that he cares about no one but himself, and nothing but his holy trinity: blood, money, and sex. He's an emotionally devoid sociopath at the best of times, and at the worst, he's a well oiled and dangerous killing machine.

He is not a good man, Clementine knows, but sometimes, you don't want a good man.

I have a gifset in store involving the two of them, and I'm busy compiling a list of headcanons as we speak. If you want, I can tag you in it :)

But this is everything about their past and a bit of their present, so if you want to create an OC please do and tag me so I can write up a crossover and make some gifs 💕

(And before anyone comes for me, yes, I am aware of the fact that George "Sable" Cassidy is a very toxic and fucking despicable man, I created him, and I made him that way. I am not condoning his actions, nor would I want to be in a relationship with him in real life, but this is fiction. It is not meant to be taken seriously, if you don't like my hot mercenary boyfriend, then please unfollow me, because he is my current obsession, and I cannot promise that I will not be thirsting for him on my TL at any and all hours).

one of your favorite creations from 2020: this is probably my favorite gifset ive made this year just bc he’s............. so pretty and the coloring looks good and it’s just!! brilliant

your favorite coloring: this the boys set looks really good imo and i’m super proud of the coloring (blood tw) also this dash and lily set has really nice coloring and also i really like this the modern age: my week with cameron collier set very much it looks pretty

It wasn’t the first time...

that Lucy put Wyatt’s happiness ahead of her own

A/N: I am so, soooo grateful that @lyattgifs had this gifset from 1x13 Karma Chameleon on their blog so that I could write this post showing the beauty of Abigail Spencer and Matt Lanter’s acting abilities. @lyattgifs, you are a phenomenal graphic artist and a blessing to this fandom. I ADORE you. <3

Since episode 2x05 there has been a lot of talk and (well-deserved) praise for Lucy’s sacrifice in putting Wyatt’s happiness before her own. It was heartbreaking to watch, but she wouldn’t be our Lucy if she wasn’t noble, strong and loving. (And Wyatt wouldn’t be our - or Lucy’s - Wyatt if he didn’t at least try to keep his marriage together. Anyone who disagrees, can take a number in the Wyatt Logan Complaints Desk line over there - way over there.)

Lucy’s hidden heartbreak and brave front in 2x05 reminded me of something, and that was the early scene in 1x13 Karma Chameleon when Wyatt came to Lucy’s house to tell her about the plan to steal the Lifeboat to try to save Jessica.

The recollection didn’t come to me immediately, because 1x13 is probably my least favorite episode. It was hard to watch Wyatt become so unhinged back in 1983, so it is probably the only episode that I haven’t watched at least 4x. (Hey, when I fall for a TV show, I fall hard. Don’t judge me.)

I also wasn’t a fan of the episode, because as much as I loved the angst in this one only real Lyatt scene in the episode, it hurt to see how blind Wyatt was to the body language of Lucy’s reaction when he said no longer being a part of Time Team would be a price worth paying to have Jessica back.

I know, Lucy, I know. Spoiler alert: One day he’ll try to tell you you’re beautiful, and instead tell you you’re not hideous. But remember he’s our idiot, and we love him.

To be fair, back then I don’t think either one of them figured out how deeply they felt for one another - Lucy included. So I don’t think that she was mourning over the potential loss of love, but just the possibility of losing her friend and partner. Still, she had lost her sister, so she could understand why Wyatt had to try to get his wife back.

So she did what Lucy does. She recomposed herself, buried her own wishes down deep and focused on finding out what she could do to help Wyatt, her friend, achieve his happiness.

Summer 2018 TV Binge Ranking

I use the term “Binge” lightly, since I’m not used to watching a lot of tv at once. Anyways, starting out this summer I realized the number of my active fandoms had significantly decreased, which I needed to fix asap. Luckily, not only did I have more time than usual to watch some television, but I also had access to a Netflix account for once, so I went right to work. The following shows were picked from various gifsets, edits, fanarts etc. on Tumblr and Instagram, so for those of you I follow who post occasional stuff that don’t pertain to the main fandom I follow you for, you probably had some influence on my list. Because of this, I figured it might be useful for anyone else looking for a new show to watch to have some kind of ranking, though I realize different people have different tastes. You will notice though that none of these shows are long-running, so it’ll be pretty easy to jump right on board any of them. These are ranked purely on my enjoyment of them and how much I looked forward to seeing the next episode, NOT the actual overall quality.

1. Legends of Tomorrow

“You’ve got to be joking” Nope. No I am not. Ok, the first season is really rough. Like, extremely rough. But the show finds its footing by season 2 and becomes essentially the American version of Doctor Who (aka my favorite show of all time). Time travel? Check. Sentient Time Ship? Check. A good blend of hilarity and touching moments? Check. Badass bisexual queen (who was trained to kill people)? Check. The list goes on. It’s extremely enjoyable, particularly when you need a good laugh, I really looked forward to every episode post-series 1. I would almost recommend skipping the first season altogether but there are a few important backstories for the characters that might make some later moments confusing. You don’t really need to have watched other Arrowverse shows to understand what’s going on and, aside from 2 crossover specials, there’s hardly a connection at all. Legends is also pretty diverse, although it would be nice to add a few more women to balance out the man-heavy team. Otherwise, their “dysfunctional family” dynamic is, quite frankly, hilarious and the overflow of pop-culture references (there’s a whole episode where they have to convince George Lucas to return to the movie industry because of his films’ influence on history) made my geek heart so happy. My biggest critique is the show’s use of the “only white boys are nerds” trope because, while I love these two particular characters, I would really love to find another show where the women aren’t always “sensible and non-geeky.”

2. Black Lightning

I don’t think I can put into words how wonderfully heartwarming this show is. I have seen one too many shows with dysfunctional families, so watching the Pierces grow and work through their issues in a healthy way was just … so important to me. Literally all of them are beautiful, flawed but well rounded characters that I would fight for. Also, Lynn and Jefferson? Freaking adorable and couples goals (Also ironically the names of my aunt and uncle). Anissa was born to be a superhero. She never had a moment of calling like most do because she was already an activist and her reaction to her powers is extremely believable. So is Jennifer’s. She’s 16 and wants nothing more than an average life. I completely relate to their sibling relationship (I, too, frequently borrow my sister’s stuff). It’s a bit darker than Legends but that doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of light moments to go around. Needless to say, this is another wonderfully diverse show. Aside from focusing on a healthy, black family, the fact that Anissa’s a lesbian isn’t made out to be a big deal. The underlying commentary on black incarceration and other racism issues is very poignant and eye-opening, as someone who’s not a part of that community. I don’t feel like I can say much on the actual superhero aspects of it, since I generally don’t watch DC or Marvel stuff (previous mentioned show aside) because the amount of fighting overwhelms the plot and characters for me, but I thought this show had a good balance of superhero-y moments and touching character moments. It really did feel like a break through in television.

3. Sense 8

Late to the party, I know, but I knew I’d get here eventually. First off, if you opened a dictionary to find the word “diversity,” this show should be underneath it. Every time I think they couldn’t find another way to integrate another identity into it, they proved me wrong. I particularly loved that they trick the audience into thinking they’re setting up yet another love triangle, then are like “Psyche, threesome.” They know modern audiences too well. The characters are fantastic, I have a particular soft spot for Lito Rodriguez. The concept is unique and the camera work is another level (as someone who’s thinking about heading into the film industry, I appreciated that). What threw me off was how graphic the show was. I tend to keep away from television that has copious amounts of sex and blood, largely out of discomfort, so if that stuff triggers you in any way it would be good to steer away from this particular show. I grew accustomed to it as I kept watching but early on I had to take significant breaks between each episode. Luckily, the characters and storyline was interesting enough to keep me coming back.

5. Dark Angel

Not from Netflix and technically a two part miniseries instead of a full tv show, but I had to include it. Wow. Just wow. I enjoyed Joanne in Downton Abbey but boy I was not prepared for the stellar performance she gave off as Mary Ann Cotton, Britain’s first female serial killer. This is about as dark as television gets, there was hardly a happy moment in the whole thing and yet I was compelled to keep watching. This is quite the accomplishment for any show or film that doesn’t have at least some humor added in to balance it out. The show depicted the difficulty of Victorian women extremely well, and almost made Mary a sympathetic character. Almost. What I admired about this telling was the writing’s ability to do this without glorifying what she did. You can understand her actions without condoning them. Considering how many people Mary was suspected of killing though, there wasn’t as much death as I expected from a serial killer story. Not that I’m complaining. Probably not one I’ll re-watch anytime soon, but I’m definitely glad to have seen it.

5. A Series of Unfortunate Events

Boy, where do I start. This is the one show I started watching without prompting from social media, simply because I had read the first few books when I was younger. Watching this reminded me why I never picked up the other books in the series. It’s not technically a bad show, I did mostly enjoy the first season, it just became so dark and depressing by the second season, even with the bright and comic-y look to the show. I actually think that was a smart decision on the creators part, to include the over-the-top scenery and clothes, because I can’t imagine how much more depressing it would have been if they’d gone with dark tones. The Lemony Snicket dialogue is also amusing, and I appreciate this show for giving Tumblr more dialogue to play around with. On the downside, I wanted to punch literally every adult onscreen. Shows are a bit difficult to watch when you have that kind of reaction to them. At this point, I can’t say if I’ll watch the third season when it comes out or not, as I do generally like to stick with happier shows.

That concludes my summer show review, I tried not to go super in-depth and spoiler-y I hope these thoughts were helpful or, at the very least, an interesting read.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms

So which knight are we talking about? Is Dany gonna knight Brienne? Because that would make my life.

Ugh. Another ad incorporated into the episode. Maybe it’s just HBO? Because Crazy Rich Asians was also HBO. Maybe I’m blaming Amazon when I should be blaming HBO... Oh how I love these little ice tiles in the opening leading to Winterfell. This whole time I’ve been wondering who has the Spider emblem in the opening credits, but too lazy to look at the cast list. It just hit me. Varys is called the Spider. I am so dumb. But who’s the butterfly though? Still haven’t figured that one out. Ok I gave in and checked, it’s Missandei. More reason to love her. I love butterflies. Is the symbol of Naath the butterfly then? Aww I didn’t notice until now that Jacob Anderson as Grey Worm has the 3 dragons in a circle emblem. You know what would have been cool? If the big dragon skull (I forget the dragon’s name) had the crack in it in the animation too. But maybe it does and it just moves too fast to notice it. Oh god, I happened to move my mouse and see there was a giant blurb of trivia. I read it. This episode is described as a “love letter to the fans” because it focuses on the characters preparing and the calm before the storm that is episode 3. Oh god.

LOL everyone’s tearing Jaime apart. “The things we do for love.” HAHAHAHHAAHAHA BRAN YOU’RE THE BEST. Awwww Gendry’s so impressed with Arya’s knife throwing. I’m honestly surprised Bran didn’t call Jaime out to everyone either. Only called him out to Jaime himself, no one else. Spikes of dragon glass on the wall! That’s genius. Good thinking from whoever did that. Aww. Jaime’s in love. Two men being in love with her is exactly what Brienne deserves. She deserves the world. Can Brienne sit on the Iron Throne please? Awwwww Brienne is so proud of Podrick. For some reason I thought Dany and Sansa’s conversation was in either episode 3 or 4, I was spoiled it would happen, but I’m glad they’re going to at least attempt to not drag this rivalry out more than an episode. I’m glad they came to some sort of agreement.... but still the whole kneeling thing can’t be overcome. Ugh. I know people ship Sansa and Theon. I don’t know if I do. But I love that she trusts him. Yay Gilly! Haven’t gotten to see her in a while. Awwww Davos and Gilly see a little of Shireen in that little girl. My heart. EDD AND SAM TOGETHER AGAIN!!!! AND TORMUND INTERRUPTING EDD AND JON’S REUNION. LOVE IT. “How long do we have?” “Before the sun comes up tomorrow.” Ok now I feel physically shaken up and scared. OH THEON. OH BRAN. AWWWWWWWWWW.

Yes he attempted to kill Bran. But I’m just remembering how the scene a billion years ago of Theon coming into Bran’s room to announce he’s taken the castle was more like an older brother annoying his little brother,

Awww Grey Worm and Missandei. I’m still completely worried by the fact that I saw Missandei included in a gifset I saw that included all characters who have died. I’m so scared. Hey it’s Ghost! “And now our watch begins.” Full circle. I love/hate it. “Everyone seems to forget that I was the first man to kill a White Walker.” YOU TELL THEM SAM. Tormund. That story was ultra creepy. Even for you. I’d been spoiled for Gendry and Arya, but it was my own fault because I decided to read the Buzzfeed article about it. Pretty sure I mentioned it in one of the posts... Yep that was back in Dark Winds Dark Words. Before Gendry even rowed away. But yay! I’m glad Tormund’s insulted by the fact that Brienne hasn’t been knighted and that women can’t be knighted in general.

SER BRIENNE OF TARTH, KNIGHT OF THE SEVEN KINGDOMS. THAT. IS. MY GIRL. I wish Dany would have knighted her, but Jaime will do.

Oh little Lady Lyanna. Arguing with her uncle (?) Jorah about fighting. I love it. I love her. But also. If you make me watch Lyanna die, I will kill someone. Ohhh, cousin, not uncle. Got it. Ok Jon told Dany about being Aegon and before they could get into what it really meant, they were interrupted by White Walkers. Ugh. I appreciate that the last shot of a main character before we saw the Walkers was of Tyrion. Didn’t George R.R. Martin say that he considers Tyrion to be the protagonist, if he had to pick one?

SO. That was eventful. Gendry and Arya happened. My girl, Ser Brienne, is a knight. Sansa and Theon might end up being a thing based on that last shot of them. Podrick can sing. Jon told Dany he’s her nephew.

Also. And this is something I mentioned a long time ago, in Oathkeeper. But.... how are White Walker’s made? Where do they come from? Did the Children make all of them? Because at first it seemed like there were only 4 of them, then Sam killed one, but then there were like 5, and just now we saw a whole line of them. Sooooo how are they made?

In Oathbreaker, I asked if they were all Craster’s sons. They’re all male, so far. And the White Walker (or was it the Night King) that took one of the sons touched it while it was still alive and it turned white and had blue eyes. Sooo.... would that baby grow into a White Walker? Or is it just a wight like the rest of them and the touch killed it since it wasn’t already dead? A baby wight wouldn’t help them much, but if it could still grow after being touched, it would be useful to the Army. So do Craster’s sons become White Walkers? Are all the White Walker’s Craster’s sons?

AND IF THEY ARE ALL CRASTER’S SONS, WHAT WILL THEY DO TO LITTLE SAM??? I NEARLY FORGOT ABOUT LITTLE SAM.

I don’t want to google it. I literally have just 2 more episodes until I’m caught up. Not taking that chance. But that’s my theory for now. White Walkers are Craster’s sons.
