🏣 (I'm not the poster u replied to but) while I agree it isn't really relevant to the blog, I think you misunderstood their point. they were arguing for gay men to have heard voices when discussing what might be offensive to gay men, and (vice versa) for lesbians to have heard voices when discussing what might be offensive to lesbians.

I don't see how this lesbiophobic, since they were just asking that people not be offended on their behalf and instead listen to the people in that particular group and whether or not they actually find it offensive (hopefully this is legible, I'm bad at explaining and my head hurts)

you die to protect something you love. it does not matter in the end. if it's a person, they still die shortly after, if it's a war, you still lose. your death means nothing. the only people who could've appreciated it will be gone quickly as well. you will die thinking you have done something, when really you have done nothing. perhaps that is the saddest thing of all.

Though Mycroft offered a smile, he knew that the King was perfectly aware that it had happened multiple times in the past - sometimes in his own company! Unfortunately, risk was just something that came with his career.

Really, Mycroft knew that he was dismissing a legitimate concern. What else was he supposed to say, though? At the end of the day, he wasn't dead yet and that was all that really mattered.

"Of course, you can blame my brother for my absence. You have seen his return from the dead in the newspapers, I assume? I do apologise for keeping his continued life a secret from you but it was of the utmost importance that everybody believed him to be dead and, by extension, that my mourning was taken to be legitimate."

Mycroft had a lot of making up to do, he knew that. He would have to ask for the King's forgiveness and make it absolutely clear that no harm was meant by his actions. First, though, he wanted to reassure him that he was quite alright. His undercover trip to Serbia had lasted longer than expected, it was true, but Mycroft (unlike Sherlock) had not come out of it physically harmed.

Albert thought he had every right to have been worrying about his friend given what he knew happened in his line of work, to have him vanish completely had been a great concern. He was naturally very pleased that Mycroft was unharmed in the end, though he did not smile at the joke beyond a slight tug of the corners of his mouth. He was going through a mix of emotions behind the practiced royal mask, relief, anger, confusion.

He was hurt in a way that Mycroft had lied about his brother’s death, pleased that it was not actually the case even if it was begrudgingly admitted. It had been something he had greatly empathised with and finding out it was a lie had at one point made him furious. Luckily he had calmed down before Mycroft turned up to speak with him, overshadowed perhaps by the relief that his friend was indeed alive and unharmed. 

 “You know that I was -asking around about where you were?” He began seriously, “-People either were -truly oblivious or did their best -to avoid answering the -question. It not only made me -considerably worried for you so soon after your -brother’s supposed death, but made me think there was something being -hidden from me.” Which given Albert’s history with his officials hiding things from him, had not gone down well, he now owed several apologies of his own it seemed. “At least I was -right.” His eyes narrowed just a little before his gaze dropped away, still hurt but at least not so angry that Mycroft would get a barrage. 

“I am --glad you are -home, safe and well. And that your -brother -has returned -too. I am not sure -how you will -handle the -media around him, but I am relieved for his -return.” He confessed seriously, “I -trust this experience was educational -for him? -To -perhaps behave himself more in the -future?” He looked back to Mycroft again, a hundred questions bubbling up as he did but one that seemed to come to the forefront and delivered in a way that was more of a friend than a King, “Why did you -not think -to -tell me where you were -going?”

⛩️ You do not have to be Jewish to be aligned with Zionism and many people use the term Zionist when speaking about a person who has aligned their views with Zionism. There are plenty of Protestant, Christian, etc. folks who have aligned their views with Zionism and it's common to use Zionist as a shorthand for that. Saying 'X is a Zionist' is easier than saying 'X has aligned themselves with Zionism beliefs'. Hope this helps!
