There's always a slight yearning in the back of my mind wishing I had been born in the right place, time, family situation, income level, etc. to have just lived in one single house for my entire life. Imagine being born in a place that still suits you, even through all of your personal evolutions and etc. The idea of deep familiarity with an area because you've lived and explored it for 40+ years, being encased in a web of memories and connections. Being able to clean out your old childhood bedroom and find personal artifacts, to dig in the yard and remember. I know those lives can still be plenty imperfect, but there's just something so seemingly solid and stable and Grounding about it that I sometimes wish I could have.. (At least from my outside perspective as someone who's moved around a bit geographically and even within the same area, never lives in the same house/ apartment /etc. for more than a few years usually.) Like... having a place that is printed upon, fully your own, rather than chronically a visitor, every thought of a space always tempered with the notion that one day soon you'll have to pack it all up again, etc. There's something peaceful about the permanence.
#I think also because I'm a very nostalgic person - THOUGH not in the way that somep poeple mean when they say nostalgia because I've realiz#ed that to some people apparently it means like.. more of a sad emotional thing? Or when I talk about being nostalgic they say 'me too' and#then describe how they're always depressed dwelling on the past wishing they could revisit it and replaying it and feeling sad and etc.#Whereas for me - it's not in a deep or emotional way at all. It's very detached - kind of like someone who is doing like a scientific#cataloguing of something? I don't feel any remorse or sadness or longing or sitting there sobbing for hours over people/pets I've lost or#etc. It's more like a fun contemplative excercise and extension of self analysis plus just documentation. Like I know your memory fades as#you get older OR even as stuff is actively ongoing humans have terrible recall - even the ones who are less emotional/more focused on#accuracy our minds still twist things or etc. SO I looove to have documentations of everything possible so that in the future I will have#as full and complete of a view of myself as I possibly can. sure the image will undoubtedly be a little distorted but having real evidence#of how something was at a time is very valuable. You look through old messages or letters or something and you always find other alternate#versions of yourself. Not in a worse way like inherently inferior Previous Models Of You who haven't yet been perfected but even just in a#neutral way like 'what they're saying is not a BAd thing but also is not how I would say that today.' etc. ANYWAY I find it really interest#ing to document and remember things and love revisiting the past - not in a sad way - but just like. curiosity. reminiscing and recalling#and filling in gaps. or trying to have the same feeling I felt at a previous time so I can remember what it was. Collecting information for#documentation purposes. Like for example - I would love to go back and tour all of my old childhood houses/apartments. Not to like#sit in the middleof them and cry and go 'ohhh my childhood waughhh' - but literally because I want to take detailed photographs so I#can remeber exatly what they looked like and recreate them in sims or some other digital way. Why? idk. just to gather the information. If#I ever live to like 80 years old and I'm still reflecting on my life curious about the dteails of it. I want to be able to fire up my#ancient windows 10 laptop I've kept all these years and open up the sims 4 and tour my old home with accuracy etc. ??#Not sure why really. Maybe an extension of how I generally care a lot about having an 'accurate' view of things? Like I would rather be#accurate than be happy. I don't understand 'ignorance is bliss' because I would always rather know. I always always in any situation am mor#focused on 'what is the well researched practical truth' than about 'how does this make me feel' or etc. Truth above ALL else even if it#were to make me miserable. Aka why I'm a 'boring' 'annoying' 'UM actually..' type of killjoy lol because it's very hard for me to understan#that some people can enjoy something or have a good time even not knowing the full facts of a situation or etc. BUT anyway. since that is#some core driver of my personality for whatever reason (just the plague of ennegram type 5 perhaps lol) maybe that also drives me to my#kind of minor obsession with like 'I must have a complete view and calatoguing of my life that is as accurate as possible within the means#i have' . Is it REALLY important for me to know the exact layout of on of my first childhood bedrooms? no. materially it does nothing for m#in life. BUT hey. it would make a great addition to the Accurate Life Story Catalogue lol. ANYWAY.. But I think a lot of wanting to live in#one place forever is not just the ease of documentation. but the sense of having a constant. Much of what i crave most in life is stability#& familiarity &routine bc of how my brain works. And it just would feel so good to be Settled. Never uproot again. One little place FOREVER

CHAPTER ELEVEN: He's Not The Sun
Masterlist | Series Masterlist
Pairing: Matt Murdock x F!Reader
Summary: Claire puts one and two together, and she confronts Matt when he climbs through her window that night.
Warnings for this chapter: Angst, Claire is a bit "mean" in this one, self-hatred, brief description of injury
Word Count: 3.2k
A/n: At first, I thought about writing Claire's POV, but I didn't like it, so I circled back to Matt. Be patient though, things are purposefully moving very slowly. We all love Matt, but Claire cares for Reader, so she is being overprotective (which we can't blame her for!). Just don't hate me for this, 'kay? (Also, I hope at least some of you get the references I put in this one).

Tumblr media
The wooden frame of the window creaks as he slides through the opening.
Matt has been all over the city tonight. He tried to channel his anger and frustration into his fists and out into the world; he tried to make sense of the chaos that surrounds him everywhere he goes, but he didn’t get very far tonight.
Bloody and bruised, he crawls home to the one person he knows won’t turn him down.
Something feels off tonight though. It isn’t the lack of hopelessness he has been experiencing ever since he heard your voice for the second time that day. That, as unusual as it is for him, doesn’t feel all that odd. He has embraced it. He likes it. Something else is in the air, and a looming sense of doom threatens to constrict his airway.
You’re a bad idea, a lapse in judgment, but no one consumes him more. When everything burns too brightly for him to breathe, you supply him with fresh oxygen. When he’s spiraling, your voice brings him back from the cliff's edge.
Matt is irrevocably obsessed with you. After that phone call—after you dared to ask him out again—he felt his chest fill with a new sense of hope. You gave him something to look forward to. Something good. Something pure.
The prospect of getting to know someone who seems to be a very guarded person is the most valuable. It means that you consider there to be a certain level of trust between the two of you. It may be dangerous, and acting on the feelings he keeps having may be the worst idea he has ever had, but Matt couldn’t stop even if he wanted to.
Hell’s Kitchen has seemed a little less like a dead end tonight. His fists are bloody now, his ribs are bruised, and the old stitches on his chest have torn the first hour in, but the world isn’t ending. Usually it does whenever he fails. Not tonight though. He thinks of you tonight, and his chest gets a little lighter with each breath of fresh air he takes to calm himself.
He’s in good spirits when he climbs through Claire’s window, but that is where it ends.
Matt enters, and he instantly can no longer shake the feeling that something is, indeed, very wrong.
Claire has been pacing. The echo of missed calls and text messages hangs in the air. And when he takes a deep breath in, the lingering scent hits him like a truck.
Sliding the mask off his face, he tilts his head.
“How bad is it?” Claire asks from the doorway to the kitchen.
The guilt drips from her tongue, but it has nothing to do with him. Anger and worry spike her blood pressure; she can’t fool him, no matter how hard she tries.
“Someone was here,” he deflects.
“Can’t be that bad if your voodoo senses still work.”
“Just a bruised rib. I, uh, popped my stitches.” Matt takes a step forward, hissing. “I told you not to tell anyone where you are.”
On any other day, in any other case, he would have lectured her, but his voice lacks power this time.
Matt wants to protect his identity—needs to—but he can’t even keep Claire safe. She didn’t have to pull him out of that dumpster, but he was the one who told her he would be coming back. He’s burning everything and everyone around him to the ground like an old church at first contact with a tipped-over candle.
He’s unable to stop. He wants to be a savior; protecting the city, protecting his family, and protecting everyone else. Matt wants to be a hero, as much as he claims otherwise. To him, that is the purpose God gave him.
He grew up believing he was nothing but a soldier. Stick taught him that. Then, he left, and Matt eventually gave up hope. He was just a child then. A little boy, lost and alone. The mindset Stick forced onto him stayed, and it is a resilient bastard. It’s like a parasite that feeds off of him and refuses to leave.
He has no idea what to believe in anymore. The one person willing to take him under his wing walked out on him years ago, and he has accepted that it’s all he will ever be good for.
Experiencing all the injustice in the world in every sense but his eyes have given him no other choice but to leave the path of lawfulness and take a different turn—a turn he is now facing the repercussions for at a very dead end.
You’re getting close to him, and that means you’re inevitably in the line of fire too, just like everyone else Matt holds dear—but he never holds them close enough to allow himself to get hurt. The thought of you getting hurt remains to kill him like a dangerous toxin in his bloodstream.
Your scent is glued to the walls of the apartment, and Matt is roughly brought back to reality. The love-sick haze he had been in all night dissipates.
Catching himself on the back of the chair she keeps next to the couch, he groans. His side screams in protest. He’s bleeding; he can smell the copper in the air, mixing with Claire’s sweat and her previously shed tears that are still thick in the atmosphere. And perhaps it is your tears, too.
You.
Olivia Clarke. He truly does believe there is more to it, and that something else is going on, but too many thoughts crowd his mind at once, and he can only think about one.
He imagines her standing with crossed arms in front of him, her stance wide and her eyes empty, wiped clean by the storm of her emotions. The fire begins to burn a little brighter, swallowing her whole. All he can think about is the fact that you have been here. Neither Matt nor Claire can deny that.
“Who did you meet?” he asks, his voice low and rough as he takes another unsteady step forward.
“You tell me, Mike,” she counters. “Or should I call you Matt?”
The blood freezes in his veins. “How did you—”
But Claire cuts him off. “I was hoping to be wrong.” She shakes her head, and under her breath, she whispers to herself, “She was so happy. God, why does this always happen?”
The alarms are blaring at full volume in his head. Matt bares his teeth. “Who are you talking about, Claire? Who told you–” he grunts.
She knows.
“Who told you my name?” he asks.
“I hate being right sometimes. You wanna know who was here?” Claire pauses. “I have a friend who I happen to work with. You may know her,” she says. “Olivia Clarke? Yeah. She’s the one you’ve been lying to about who you are behind all of—” she points him up and down, “This. A blind, masked vigilante who likes to get himself on Russian ganbangers’ bad side.”
His face falls. Hearing it out loud puts things into perspective. Hearing it out loud makes it real.
Your scent fills his nose again. Your heartbeat pounds in his ear, a very vivid memory of this afternoon, and your voice echoes.
“Fuck!” he curses. “It’s not—” he was going to say that it isn’t what it looks or sounds like, but that would be the most unbelievable lie. “It’s not like that,” he says.
“Then what is it like? Tell me, Matt—if that’s even your real name.”
“I… okay, listen. We bumped into each other at the hospital the other night and hit it off. I didn’t know—” His face contorts.
“Didn’t know she had feelings?”
Claire breeches the distance between them. She glides her fingers along his clothed torso, lifting his shirt to see the damage for herself. The skin is slick with his blood, the stitches long gone.
Her usually so calculated movements are a lot more disoriented tonight. She’s tense, shaking.
Matt sucks in a sharp breath when she starts working on cleaning the wound with a cotton swab from her first-aid kit. “No,” he shakes his head. “I didn’t know you two knew each other. Let alone that you were friends. If I had, I wouldn’t have…” he trails off. No matter what he says, it will only prove her right that he is, in fact, an asshole.
“What did you think?” Claire sneers. “You tell me to turn my whole life around while you act like nothing’s wrong during the day, flirting your way through Hell’s Kitchen and landing on someone who works at the same hospital as me? She’s my best friend!”
“We had coffee. That’s all.”
“Don’t lie to me. You gave her your number twice, and you asked her out. She came to me, panicking because you were her first date in years, and I gave her advice like the idiot I am.” She scoffs. “Don’t act like it was just coffee because if it had been, you wouldn’t have said yes to dinner when she asked you.”
Claire pours the disinfectant directly onto the cut, and he howls in the back of his throat. “Sorry,” she says, but it lacks sincerity. “I couldn’t even answer her texts because I feel like I’m complicit in lying, even though I never signed up for this.”
Matt adjusts in his seat. The medicinal alcohol burns through his bloodstream.
She sticks three butterfly bandages over the cut, one after the other. “To think I told her you were a good guy because I was hoping someone had finally come around for her who wouldn’t hurt her.”
“I would never hurt her,” he answers without missing a beat.
“Then why did she tell me about how she met this handsome lawyer, but not that he runs around in spandex at night, throwing fists at bad guys?”
“Because…I couldn’t tell her. I couldn’t.” Taking a deep breath, his eyes stop darting around. He wraps his hand around her wrist, stopping her desperate attempt to patch him up.
Right now, Claire hates him. She’s furious with him and worried about you, and she doesn’t quite know where to with herself, but she also can’t let it be. Matt’s hurt; after saving his life, she feels responsible for making sure he’s okay. Her movements are muscle memory, but he can’t focus, not like this.
“You see the situation you’re in, Claire.” Her pulse quickens at the mention of her name. “If I tell her,” he explains, “she’ll be in danger, and I can’t… She’s too good for that. And so are you, but you chose to pull me out of that dumpster.”
“Don’t act like it’s my fault for not wanting to let you bleed out,” she claps back.
He tightens his grip, urging her not to slip away. “That’s not what I meant.”
“Oh, I know what you meant. And I agree, Liv’s too good for you.”
The second she has finished bandaging his wound, she breaks free from his grasp and steps away. Being close to him seems to hurt her. He can hear it in the way she breathes, brushing her hair away from her sweaty forehead. Her temples must be pounding.
Matt lowers his shirt again, sighing. “She has something about her. The way she talks, the way she carries herself, I just… she draws me in. And she’s good to me.”
A million reasons why he can’t stay away from you, but he can’t voice any of them in the way he wants to. The words just won’t come.
Claire wipes her hands on a towel nearby. “She doesn’t exist to make you feel better,” she says. “She doesn’t exist to make anyone feel better. She thinks she does, but she isn’t. I thought you, out of all people, would understand that.”
No one exists for the sake of another person.
“I know she’s had a bad childhood,” he says.
“It’s not just about her bad childhood. It’s everything. She deserves better.”
“Don’t you think I know that? Don’t you think I’m aware that I’m bad for her? That everything I do has a tendency to backfire on the people I care about?”
She avoids looking at his face entirely. “I want to believe you, but I can’t,” she says.
“Claire—”
She shakes her head. “You need to cancel that dinner.”
The words take a very long moment to register. “You want me to break her heart?” he asks.
Matt imagines that—hurting you, breaking your heart, and never seeing you again—and it crushes him. Over his dead body, that is what he thought when you answered the phone earlier that evening. Now, Claire is begging him to kill himself so that you can be free of him. She finally sees him through the same mirror he views himself through, and it is terrifyingly isolating.
The floorboards creak under the weight of her steps as she begins to pace. “I don’t know,” she admits. “Maybe? Yes? All I know is that you can’t see her again.”
The wave that comes at him threatens to pull him under. She met the Devil first, but he was so broken then that a glimpse of Matt was already peeking through. He wants to disappear.
Claire’s view of the world has always been sober, but now that he is in the spotlight of it all, he wishes he would have never come to her again. He was alone, and she was there, but it should not have happened.
Subconsciously, he matches her labored breathing. “I get you, Mi—Matt,” she murmurs. “I do. And I keep telling myself it’s twisted, but I can’t help it. You’re hurt, and I know how to take care of that. God knows I shouldn’t have got involved with you. I don’t regret it. I’m not trying to make you feel worse than you already do, but Liv’s safety is something I can’t risk. I won’t. Endless devotion is the only way she knows how to love. And if you go out with her—if you make her fall for you—she will get herself killed.”
You. Dead. The combination tastes sour. No amount of bleach could remove the blurry imagination of you, dying because of him. His chest tingles, a thousand lightning bolts at once. If he goes along with it, he fears her words might become real. But who’s to say they won’t either way? The fear settles into his bones like a chronic ache.
Matt gets up. His knees buckle, but he tries to stand strong. The question is, who is he trying to fool? Claire knows better, and he can’t even believe himself anymore. It’s pointless.
“I know you care about her, but after the Russians are taken care of—” he begins.
Claire raises her hand. The wind brushes across his cheek, stopping him in his tracks. “Doesn’t matter,” she says. “You won’t stop.”
“I…” he sighs. “You know I can’t. Not when I have to listen to the law fail every damn night. This city needs me in that mask.”
“I’m not telling you to stop. I know you’ve made up your mind, and that’s your choice, but Liv can’t be dragged into this. If it’s not the Russians, it will be something or someone else trying to get a piece of you, and they will drag those close to you down with you.” Claire crosses her arms again. “We both know I’m right,” she says.
“You’re asking me to break her heart. That’s not fair,” the sentence hangs in the air, a helpless breath on his lips as he tries to reach for a way out of this hell.
Her fingers dig into her biceps. “Can you promise that she won’t get hurt?”
He opens his mouth. Not a single sound escapes him. And Matt realizes that if he wants to answer that question, he has to lie. The truth will prove her right. It proves him right.
She nods. His hesitation speaks volumes. “If you let her down easy now, you won’t do any irreparable damage. You both can move on.”
But he doesn’t want to move on. Again, nothing but a strangled grunt in the back of his throat slips past his lips. Matt loathes himself more than anything. Death seems kinder than whatever this is supposed to be.
If he had chosen to go home and stitch himself up tonight, maybe he could have still been pretending by now, and he wouldn’t be on the verge of losing you.
She sniffs. She isn’t crying, but her nose is still running from the presence of the very persistent cat, who has been watching them ever since Matt climbed into the window.
“She’s like family to me,” Claire tells him as calmly as she possibly can. “I can’t let you do this to her, not after I’ve got a taste of what it’s like.”
If you were there with them, you would tell her to mind her own business. Knowing you, you wouldn’t allow her or anyone to control you. You are in charge of your own destiny, but as she said, you would go into it blindly and sacrifice yourself if he truly means that much to you, and if that were to ever happen, he might lose you. Claire might lose you. You might die, and that is a thought that Matt can’t even stand to form, but he has no choice as the voices come crashing back in.
rough his shirt to touch his wound. It’s not a gentle caress, not at all.
“Promise me she’ll be okay?” he asks.
Claire nods. “Of course, she will. You’re not the center of her universe,” and although she probably meant it to sound snarky, a certain softness follows through the sound of her voice.
Maybe in another life, he could be. In another life—another universe—he could be your sun, or perhaps the moon that shines at midnight as rain falls. Just not in this one.
He slips through the window back into a reality that is much different from whatever fantasy he could possibly conjure up to soothe the hot ache that spreads through his heart, and when his feet hit the wet ground, he knows he has a decision to make.

There’s a small chest from the previous Furnace Master where he put all the junk Curios he made. Calling them “junk”, but from a Master who made legendary weapons, they’re still valuable pieces. Tho, it’s unclear what are their purposes as no one can activate them.
As the new friends of Master Gongshu, the Trailblazer team get to hangout at the Masters’ Office where they keep this chest. March was attracted to it immediately as she loves shiny, pretty things. The Stellaron Child follows, digs through it with the interest of a trash racoon. DH stands aside, he quietly watches everyone poking and shaking each Curio.
“They are harmless, unlike Herta’s toys,” Caelus comments.
“Well, it’s because no one can find their usages, but they definitely have secrets inside. The man who made them was a genius, after all.”
Master Gongshu starts to bore the trio with old stories about a short-lived foreigner but he made it to the position of a Furnace Master with pure talent and enthusiasm for brilliant objects. He made his weapons with pride but with these Curios, he made them with love, wearing a stupid, silly smile on his face the whole time.
“Ohhhhh, he was in loveeeee~.” March giggles. “There was no way,” Master Gongshu waves his hands. “That man married to his workshop and lived on the battlefield. He has no time for love.”
They quickly move on from the chest to another interesting Curio, leaving DH behind. He has been very quiet the moment he saw them. The chest was calling him close, to touch, to pick them up. He feels a weird sense of familiarity with them, he just couldn’t remember...from where? He chooses the most neutral looking one, a jade glass orb, hoping it won’t blow up into his face. His fingers found faint cracks on its body like a rubik, his hands automatically twist it in multiple directions. There are long click-clack noises inside the orb before it pops open.
Within the orb, there is a message craved into the body, “I’m yours -” DH drops the solved Curio back into the pile and picked up another one. Like he is being possessed, DH opens them one by one, without instruction, without any clue. His hands just *know* the answers.
In the end, he stands before a full table of Curio’s bodies, their cores all have craved messages from a 🌟 person. “You are the rain to my soul,” “I love your smiley tail,” “You plague my mind,” “I hope we can celebrate the Moon festival next year, too.” “I hope my Lord, my most beloved to be blessed with happiness even without me,” “I’ll always love you,” “Please remember me,” “Having you in my life is a blessing,”... DH’s eyes blur, his hot tears rising in his eyes’ sockets and dropping on the word “beloved”. Why is it?
Why does his heart feel heavy at something he doesn’t know? Who was this person? And who did he want to send these messages to? With how hard he is crying now, DH should feel pain, but instead, all emotion available in him is just melancholy. That fact saddens him more.

Starting to wonder if Orlo's not in season 3 anymore? They're filming right now and elle's makeup artist (who's on set all the time) replied to sacha's post saying "Miss you being around." It kind of makes me think they killed him off :/ Idk, maybe Orlo left the palace or something? Or left and will be back next season? I don't see how they'd kill him off so early in season 3(like two episodes in) after his character development/exploring his sexuality last season. Also wouldn't think they'd kill off one of the only POC in the main cast? Plus what about his family/uncle/etc?
Tumblr media
I really and genuinely doubt that Orlo is going to be killed off, because of the symbolic purpose he serves. He is more than just Catherine's best friend and most loyal confidante (even when tested by his own family, he didn't sway nearly as much as Marial or Elizabeth and never ever treated her the way Peter has). He is also still the (relatively) young man who sat weeping at Descartes and the idea of free thinking and progress in a royal library that was so old that it was covered in dust and cobwebs.
What do I mean by this? Well. ALL of the main cast stand for something more than who they are as historical individuals, which is why the show is justified in only being loosely historically accurate, While Marial stands in for Machiavellian selfishness, Archie for the corruption of virtue or principle, and Elizabeth as disillusionment and pragmatic survival. Meanwhile, ORLO is still the Conscience, capital C, a distinctly Russian archetype of the tortured intellect who Still Believes. One of my followers (please speak up if you see this!) is a Russian viewer who wrote a compelling analysis of Orlo AS Count Pyotr "Pierre" Kirillovich Bezukhov from Leo Tolstoy's iconic War and Peace: down to the point of being asexual-coded, having a conscience but also a very pragmatic fear of the repercussions of too-fast, too-drastic change, and wearing spectacles: which are also an archetype, of seeing but not acting. When the spectacles come off, after he has killed a man, Orlo changes, and so does the method by which Catherine acts: it becomes more violent, direct, and extreme.
Orlo, as a character, is a SIGNAL. He is the externalization of ONE SIDE (the honorable yet level-headed side) of Catherine’s internal struggle.  And the ACT OF LOOKING is the primary way, literal and metaphorical, that he signals: hence the focus on glasses or no glasses.
Tumblr media
So I think it's reasonable to judge Orlo's viability through the rest of this series BASED ON what he REPRESENTS, metaphorically. Do we still have a narrative NEED for "The Conscience," or perhaps better put, "The Original Hopes and Dreams of the Heroine"?
I would argue YES.
This show really relies on the Bakhtin Carnivalesque (basically, almost farcical vulgarity in order to democratize, humor as a weapon, a form of satire) to confer its message on viewers, but I think it also knows when to tether itself to more serious moments (which almost ALWAYS involve Orlo, or, if they're vulgar and humorous, ORLO is the one to look upon these actions aghast and disgusted).
A prime example would be in season one, when Catherine, previously promised efforts at variolation (early vaccination science, which ORLO suggested) to stop smallpox among serfs, stands watching in horror as their bodies are burned en masse across the field from Peter's palace.
Another example is when ORLO gets lost in the woods and had to face killing another human being for the first time, and how that action directly tarnished his principles, posing the narrative question to the audience: when is this violent act justifiable, if ever?
Still another, in season two, when ORLO tries to talk Catherine down from freeing all the serfs in a single day, knowing that even positive change must be incremental if it will last.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Season Two tested MY faith, both in Catherine and in the writers of The Great; I thought, LIKE ORLO, that there was going to be at least a brief moment of reveling in Catherine's victory.
Instead, Catherine was proven to be what she genuinely is--still a child, with ambition but no experience, making the fatal flaw of never listening to people who have valuable insight to offer, highly educated but still relatively sheltered, a player in a much bigger game of politics and rhetoric in a country that was never good at changing quickly for the better. We are shown unequivocally that Catherine is not yet ready to become the famous, lol, girlboss empress of European history whom we all know.
It's worth noting that The Great also uses a style of historical narrative that straddles the eccentricities of an unfamiliar epoch AND social issues that still echo with resonance everywhere today (censorship, misogyny in the "media," religious intolerance and bigotry, the danger of certain cultural hegemonies, etc etc). Another famous franchise that does this is Lin Manuel Miranda's Hamilton: which also never claims to portray these historical figures accurately (hell, Alexander Hamilton owned slaves!) BUT which uses them as--again--archetypes, larger-than-life caricatures of themselves, who stand in for ideas. They're almost allegorical that way. Orlo is no exception.
At first, like you, I was REALLY angry (I kinda still am LOL), and I couln't tell if this was deliberate, or if we were meant to be convinced, like Catherine, that Peter had really changed, and was really intent upon being a good husband and father. I was horrified by Catherine pulling AWAY from Orlo, who is, to me, Peter's narrative foil AS AN ARCHETYPE, not just as a character/individual. I was sad when Orlo said "I am for you, always, even when you don't realize it," and left.
However, I think that, by the end of Season Two, we're meant to see Catherine's slip into the illusion of domestic bliss and true love AS A VAST MISCALCULATION (the thing with Peter and her mom.....yeesh.... lol) and I think we are meant to see Orlo's absence BOTH literally AND symbolically, as idealism, conviction, and hope for positive change temporarily thwarted by a (well-meaning but headstrong and arrogant) young woman's very HUMAN need for someone to love and support her.
But he WILL be back, because the show is, after all, called The Great, and they don't mean Peter. And Catherine needs her conscience and her hope back to incarnate her own highest potential.
And if he dies, well, then, it’s possible, always, on any show, but what a bleak signal, or portent, that will be for the show’s endgame.

oh the superman eugenics thing is pretty cut and dry to the point. he's from a race of incredibly intelligent, very powerful people who stand above all humans in basically every single way. it doesn't help matters that, by nature of the racism and misogyny imbedded in the culture at the time, all early depictions of krypton showed it as an all-white, Übermensch society that follows gender roles from 1900s america to the exact letter. frankly, the early depictions were only a box of hair-dye away from being a representation of hitler's ideal society.
one could say "but the kryptonians died because of their own hubris, therefore it depicts that society as bad," but the overmining explanation for why krypton exploded was only one of many backstories given for the same phenomenon. most of the time, krypton just blows up for uncontrolled reasons. it got too old, it got too close to their sun, or it literally just blows up with no particular reason. even in the version of the story that explains the explosion with overmining, it doesn't address why the society is all white and comprised only of buff dudes and hyperfeminine women. it has a pro-environment and anti-capitalist message, sure, but there's nothing there to address why this planet of seemingly perfect beings look exactly like what a white supremacist would think a perfect society would look like.
as for wonder woman and the star sapphire corps...well. let's start with wonder woman. in general, i dislike how amazons are depicted, and wonder woman and dc's themyscira fail to make themselves exceptions. removed body hair, boob armor, makeup, "armor" that looks like corseting, leotards, miniskirts, styled hair, even sometimes high heels. these women do not look like women who are removed from patriarchal society in the slightest. and the authors...they take every chance to remind us that the amazons don't accept men, but also make every effort to make exceptions to that. accepting a tim into themiscara through changing the lore of where amazons come from is seen as beautiful and natural, but the amazons are routinely treated as childish or even cruel for being female separatists. wonder woman herself was shamed in the comics for "abandoning" her son when he was born (he was adopted by superman and lois lane, and i doubt that happened coincidentally...she put him in good hands). the writers will say "the amazons created a society where women could thrive away from male violence," but they always act like that's impossible or a sin, when it comes down to actually depicting it. and what the hell is with the "bracelets of submission," anyways?
i would love it if the women of themyscira were actually allowed to be natural, rowdy, buff women with hairy legs and absolutely no connections or references to bdsm. i want them to be guilt-free manhaters who view the lesbians within their society as blessed by the goddesses (yes, i know depictions of lesbians that are normal and seen as normal are necessary, but why can't we see ourselves as valuable when society tells us we're trash).
the star sapphire corps, meanwhile. well. the purple lantern represents "love." they're depicted as mostly female, and mostly very provocatively dressed. i'm not sure when this change occurred, but i'm pretty sure they used to be "pink lanterns" at one point, and probably only changed since pink isn't a color present on the actual light spectrum--the only evidence i have of this, though, is that early depictions of the character carol ferris (the primary violet lantern), used to wear all-pink.
now, you may be thinking "oh, an all-female group based around the concept of love, it's a bit cliché, but not too bad." well. the power of "love" according to the emotional spectrum canon is embodied by a monstrous character quite literally called "predator." i can't quite cover everything wrong with this character without writing a novel, but basically, the power of "love" seems to be something that makes the people using it (again, primarily women, because "there's a lack of men who are worthy for it," which sounds feminist until you get to this next part) obsessive, paranoid, and irrational. predator himself is apparently a manifestation of carol's "business side," as well as her daddy issues. by the way, speaking of carol: she's crazy. the writers have given her a sort of multiple-personality disorder, where there's carol ("good woman") and star sapphire ("evil woman"). and predator ("evil man") is also apparently her? at least in some regards. some of the powers seem a little...coercive (to put it gently), as well. the whole thing is a mess, and if you're curious, i would suggest visiting pages like the dc fandom/wikia pages on the things i've listed to get an idea for what i'm talking about here.
i'm honestly not quite sure how to "fix" them, beyond maybe...i don't know, removing the "love is crazy and stupid and irrational" and sexualization of love angles? i think they should still mostly be women, at least with regards to entities in the group that come from earth, because men from earth are kind of terrible at actual love. it would be nice if the lantern was a little discriminatory against "obsession" or "possessiveness," and only valued certain kinds of love (not necessarily just romantic or sexual, but platonic as well).
this doesn't actually cover a whole lot, despite having a lot of text, but i feel like i've said enough for one message lol.
You've got a good brain for picking. This was fascinating! /gen. You ever want to drop more commentary, please feel free! 💜
As a side note, the sons of themyscira plotline is another point to mention regarding the Amazons being depicted as petty for not wanting men around. It's revealed (in that version) that the way amazonians have children is by going on boats and having sex with sailors, going back to the island pregnant, and then just keeping the female ones.
I don't know what reason for how they maintain their numbers I like, but that was probably the stupidest one above this new one that invites a TIM into the mix and completely removes the nature of Themyscira itself. I wish they had made the nature of how Diana was born the common form of birth (molded from clay and brought to life by Athena, instead of Zeus.).
Overall though, great analysis. 💜 This was really dope to read.

“I don’t want to pretend. I want to always stay as my natural self.”
Tumblr media
“My name is Fukazawa! I look forward to working with you today!” Fukazawa-san greeted us and bowed as he arrived in the studio. The atmosphere in the studio gently softened with his gentleness. He responded to various requests with superb reactions and smiles while standing in front of the camera - greatly livening up the shoot.
“I really like western clothes, and am always interested in luxury brand items. I especially love items with loud designs. I tend to wear really peculiar clothes, which is why I get told off by the members “How about you try buying normal clothes?” (laughs). Recently, I’m trying to wear casual clothes. Someday, I want to collaborate with a brand and try making clothes.”
He is the oldest member of Snow Man and also the mood-maker. He turned 30 years old last May.
“Yes, I did (turn 30 last May)... but honestly, it hasn’t really sunk in yet. I want to stay young emotionally and physically. I am a little worried because I get tired faster than the other members (laughs). Among the members, I am the designated MC so I think it would be nice if I could bring out the members’ charms through talking. Also, I would like it if I can make the audience feel a little of my adult charms.”
Making use of his outstanding conversational skills, he is now a regular in the infotainment show “Nonstop!” starting this spring.
“ABC-Z’s Fumito Kawai-kun sent me a congratulatory message “You can’t make half-hearted statements as a commentator. Each response is important.”. He kindly taught me that. At first, I was all fired up and enthusiastic like “Okay! I’ll do my best and get background information!”. Luckily, Shitara Osamu-san always kindly follows me up and teases me. And because of that I changed tactics and dared to speak my thoughts as they are without having to prepare beforehand (laughs).”
The person himself is very humble, but the breadth of his outlook on life and enthusiasm is obvious from seeing him in the show. It has been 18 years since he entered his agency, and his time of obscurity as a Johnny’s Jr. was long.
“Oh-, it did turn out like that. I danced as a backup dancer for my senpais before debut and just did my best for 15 years. There were times when I thought “Is it really fine like this?”. It was really hard during that time and I almost gave up, but now that I have debuted I’ve once again realized how valuable those times are. This is something I can say now. It is thanks to everyone that I got to personally witness the group Snow Man becoming well-known to the world.”
He talked about this job being worth doing when his efforts finally bore fruit.
“When our CDs lined up in the storefront or when the stage our members and staff-san collaborated to make is revealed - the moment when I receive something is the best. Of course, the “process”, like the results of our rehearsals piling up is also important. That too is a very fulfilling time. Personally, I want people to say “That person is funny!” (laughs). I don’t want to pretend. I want to always stay my natural self. I always keep that in mind while working. It would make me happy if people thought of me as someone who jokes around and does ridiculous things but is an honest person.”
Finally, when we asked him about featured anime:
“My favorite is “Crayon Shin-chan”. I cry when I watch it. Our anime otaku member Sakuma (Daisuke) says “It seems like you’d like this one, Fukka” and recommends shows to me. I watch everything he recommends. Recently, I’m hooked on “The Rising of the Shield Hero”. I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen during the finale!”

It’s nice to be noticed and missed! That so sweet of you. Always make me feel welcomed like a long lost relative when I pop in. ❤️
I absolutely understand about the engagement between readers and the stories, I think as a reading community we could stand to show you guys the writers more love, praise and engagement because these amazing stories and worlds you guys conjure are really great. And help as entertainment as well as just something nice to look forward to once or twice a week. But for you Sam, I think you’ve got to take yourself out of the equation here. If I’m understanding you correctly it seems that you’re attaching the engagement a post or story will have with you worth and that’s just not it babes. If one of your stories “fails” (and I use that term very very lightly) it’s honestly just timing. You’ve got a Taylor Swift wide catalog of stories both new and old masterlists and your writing, character and world building has only gotten better as each new piece comes out. You do every thing right, every single time. If it’s not working out it’s just the timing. I’d be willing to put money on it. You yourself are amazing. Your blog is such a safe place for people. And yeah maybe it’s the stories that brought them here in the first place but we—at least me—stay cuz you’re awesome, kind and generous. No matter what’s going on in life, I know that I can count on at least one story either on Monday or Thursday depending and having that to look forward to is such a small and kind gift that you give to people like me.
Who you are and what you’ve got to give is absolutely good enough.
I hope all of that made sense I just wrote and wrote. As for myself I’m doing okay. Told my dad he can’t come to my wedding and he sent me a goodbye and good riddance letter. I think he thought it was going to make me feel guilty or something but I’m so immune to his games now it’s hilarious. But other than that. I’m hanging in there. Trying to take care of myself and be happy, whatever that looks like. And doing some of my own writing (little short love stories) but I’m pretty rusty so it’s not quite what I want but I’m liking rebuilding that muscle.
I hope something I said in all that is helpful. If you take anything away: you’re perfect as it, everything else is just noise. -🐱
You're so logical, I wish I could. You would think as a math person I would be MORE logical but I just get all wrapped up in being emotional I get all flustered.
Everything you said made perfect sense. I'm extremely grateful to you and how kind you are. I am definitely not too kind to myself almost ever so I get very emotional when people are kind to me. Also, I'm a pretty big push over in the real world so people just expect me to be kind and do things for them so it's really overwhelming that you just pointed out like REALLY nice things about me and are making me feel valuable even if I don't see it myself. I'm glad I created a safe place here, that's what I really want more than anything 💕
That's extremely sad about your dad but I'm so proud of you for doing that. Your wedding is about you and you deserve it to be all you want and more. I'm so happy for you 💕
ALSO ALSO YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY I wanted to ask about your engagement/wedding plans but I didn't know if that was still a plan and I think I would have jumped into traffic if I asked and you weren't getting married still.
If you feel comfortable, I would love to hear more details about your wedding! Color, theme, location (nothing specific--beach, barn, backyard, church, etc). I love to hear wedding plans! If my bf ever proposes we will NOT be having a wedding (we are poor-poor) so I love to live vicariously through others and their plans 😍 ALSO I'm so excited to hear you're writing! Writing short little love stories was how I got my start here too so I'm sure it won't be long till you're writing Harry stuff with the rest of us 😉
Thank you for your sweet message. I adore you 💕
xoxo

Creating Lasting Impressions: Personalized 3-in-1 Corporate Gift Sets
In the changing world of business, relationships and first impressions are very important. When companies try to make themselves known and create strong connections, giving corporate gifts becomes an important strategy. The attraction of a nicely made present is always there, and in this book, we explore the skill and knowledge of making customized 3-in-1 business gift sets that make a lasting impression.
In the next parts, we will look closely at corporate giving, understand the idea of a gift set that has three things in it, learn about the important role of the people who make and provide the gifts, and explore the world of gifts that are made especially for someone or have a brand on them. We will travel through the land of giving presents in companies in India, examine how large orders are made, and reveal the specialness of making things personalized.
Every chapter will be a door to a place where pens, notebooks, and keychains change into fancy ways of saying thank you, showing that you like something, and making a brand look better. This book has many ideas and strategies for businesses to make special 3-in-1 gift sets. The gifts can be fancy or useful for offices. They will help businesses leave a good impression.
Making the Best Present Collection: The Idea of Having Three Things in One
Giving presents is an old tradition, a real action that shows feelings that are usually not said. In the business world, this custom has changed into a clever way of doing things - a method to build relationships, make the brand stronger, and form long-lasting bonds. In this place, the idea of the 3-in-1 present collection has come up as a strong tool, smoothly combining usefulness, beauty, and personal touch.
The Main Idea of the 3-in-1 Idea
The 3-in-1 idea means that three different things come together to make one thing. In the world of business gifts, this means putting together gift sets that include three nice items, carefully chosen to go well together and make each other better. What is the outcome? A complete and powerful way to show gratitude.
Object 1: The Boss Pen
The pen, a tool for showing thoughts and new ideas, becomes the main focus as the initial part. Not only any pen, but a fancy pen - a sign of being professional and important. Made with very careful attention to small things, these pens go beyond just things for writing; they become symbols of doing well, used by people who work hard to be very good.
Item 2: The Handy Notebook
Next to the important pen is the useful notebook - a blank space for thoughts, schedules, and hopes. The book's pages can save small ideas and big plans. In the world of business gifts, the notebook represents the important qualities of being organized and creative. When you turn a page, you remember the kind action that helped you with your efforts.
Item 3: The Useful Keychain
Finishing the group is the useful keychain – a little but important thing that makes sure important keys are never lost. Besides its practical use, the keychain acts as a daily reminder of the connection between the person who gave it and the person who received it. When you keep keys safe and use them, a link gets stronger, helping the relationship between people who work together, customers, or workers.
Customization: The Center of the 3-in-1 Present Collection
The separate parts of the 3-in-1 gift set are important by themselves, but making them personal makes the idea even better. The person who receives the item's name, a very caring message, or a logo of a company carefully carved onto the pen, notebook, or keychain changes these things into very special things that are kept with love. Making something personal changes a present into a real way of showing gratitude. It brings the kindness and consideration of the person giving it.
Making memorable memories
In the business world, first impressions are extremely valuable. Every time people talk or do something, it adds to the way people are connected and how well a business does. The 3-in-1 present collection, with its mix of usefulness, beauty, and customization, is a tool for creating memorable impacts. It goes more than just a simple trade; it is a link that connects feelings, talks about beliefs, and makes partnerships stronger.
As we go through the next parts, we will look closely at each part of the 3-in-1 gift set. We will look at fancy pens for important people, see all the things you can do with notebooks, and discover how useful keychains can be. In all of it, the main idea of making things personal will create a story of real care and thoughtfulness - a story that highlights the real meaning of giving gifts in business.
Buying a lot of things at once: Making the process more efficient
In the world of giving gifts in business, being fast and accurate are very important, especially when it comes to completing large orders. When companies want to say thank you to more people, finding, putting together, and sending 3-in-1 corporate gift sets becomes more difficult. In this part, we explain the plans and methods for making the wholesale and bulk order process simpler, so that everyone involved has a smooth and satisfying experience.
The way wholesale orders work
Large orders from businesses make up a significant part of efforts to give gifts on behalf of a company. If you want to give a lot of employees a special recognition, celebrate an important achievement for the company, or make a big impression at a conference or event, you need to plan and carry out wholesale orders very carefully. The problem is to keep the same good quality, deliver on time, and stick to the budget while increasing the number of gift sets.
Supply Chain Synchronization means making sure that all the different parts of a supply chain are working together smoothly.
One of the main parts of making the wholesale process more efficient is making sure that all the different parts of the supply chain are working together smoothly. This means creating easy ways to talk to the people who make things, the people who give us things, and the people who help us move things around. On time working together makes sure that basic materials are easily accessible, making production plans work best, and organizing shipping plans well. By keeping a well-adjusted system for moving goods, companies can feel sure about taking on bigger requests without sacrificing good quality or meeting deadlines for delivery.
Changing things to fit individual needs on a large scale.
The special thing about a great business gift collection is that it can connect with each person in a personal way. Doing this much customization for a lot of people needs new and creative answers. Fancy printing ways, computer tools for personalizing, and automatic carving methods give power to businesses to make each pen, notebook, and keychain special without losing speed. This mix of machines and personal touch lets us make lots of things that feel special to each person.
Handling Large Orders Efficiently
Big orders, even though they are usually smaller than wholesale orders, are just as important. These requests are for specific plans like showing appreciation to clients, recognizing employees, or giving away promotional items. Managing many big orders requires careful organization and a good understanding of what each project needs.
Making catalog simpler and more efficient.
Creating a clear list of gift sets that include three items in one is a smart decision that makes it easier to order a large quantity. By giving a carefully chosen group of pre-made gift sets, businesses help customers make smart decisions fast. These groups can be sorted by topic, event, or personalization choices, making the decision-making process smooth and effective.
Many changes to a large number of items.
Big orders usually have the same customization on many sets of presents. Making this process simpler can be done by using batch customization methods. Using technology, businesses can enter names, messages, or logos for many things at once, and then those names, messages, or logos will be put on each thing automatically. This way makes sure things are right, reduces mistakes, and speeds up making things personalized.
Making sure things are delivered on time.
The achievement of any business gift plan depends on delivering it on time. Companies need to make sure that the special 3-in-1 presents they put together get to the people they are meant for on time, no matter how big the order is.
Moving things in the best way
Delivery helpers are very important in getting things to people. Working together with trustworthy shipping companies that are experts in dealing with delicate or personalized objects is very important. Following abilities to follow, choices for protection, and clear communication are important parts of a successful teamwork in moving goods. Also, companies can look into storage options conveniently placed to help with fast deliveries.
Planning for unexpected events.
In the big world of buying lots of things and selling them in large quantities, unexpected problems can happen. To make sure there are no problems, businesses should have backup plans ready. These plans can include extra suppliers, other ways to send things, and easy ways to talk to people to keep clients and people getting things informed if something unexpected makes things late.
End
Buying a lot of things at once and in large quantities can be a big chance for businesses to make a strong impact on a bigger level. By using simple methods, using technology, and building important relationships, companies can easily handle the complexities of completing big orders. The skill to easily give good, personalized 3-in-1 business presents, even in large amounts, shows a dedication to being very good that connects with clients, workers, and partners. As we go ahead in this book, we will keep finding out the plans that change corporate giving into a skill of accuracy and influence.
Pen, small book, and little chain with keys: A group of three things that say a lot.
In the music of giving gifts in business, some groups of gifts are more meaningful than others. Of all the things, the nice group of a writing tool, paper, and small decoration is special because it is always stylish and has many uses. This group is not just a bunch of things; it is a story made with meaning and care, able to show thanks, skill, and a little bit of personal bond.
The Pen: A Special Mark of Quality
The pen, a tool that has gone beyond many years, represents the skill of showing feelings and the strength of language. When put in a gift set with two other things, the pen becomes more than just something to write with. It becomes a symbol of being really good and wanting to achieve something. If a pen is made to look fancy with a company logo or if it is carefully carved with someone is name, it shows that it is important and shows that the person using it is serious and skilled. It talks about how much the person cares about doing things well, coming up with new ideas, and creating something that will be remembered for a long time.
The Book: Where Thoughts Fly
Next to the pen, the notebook shows a world of endless options. In its pages, thoughts are taken care of, plans are drawn, and hopes are made real. The notebook is not only a place for writing down notes; it is also a container for ideas that make you feel motivated. In the world of business gifts, the notebook is like a blank page where people can express their hopes and dreams. By giving a small book as part of a present, companies recognize the person who receives it has the ability to do great things and they want to inspire them to start thinking of new ideas and being creative.
The Keychain: A Everyday Reminder
Finishing this group is the simple keychain - a tiny item that has a big effect. The small chain for keys, sometimes forgotten, is very important because it keeps keys safe and easy to reach. But its importance is more than just how it works. The keychain is like a friend that you can carry with you every day. It reminds you of the special bond between the person who gave it to you and yourself. When you use the keychain, it brings back memories of the nice thing someone did, making your relationships stronger and creating a feeling of friendship.
A Complete Present Collection
Together, the pen, notebook, and keychain make a complete gift set that helps with different parts of the person's work and personal life. The pen represents their promise to be very good, the notebook gives them energy for their imaginative dreams, and the keychain goes with them every day. This group, when carefully chosen and made special for someone, says a lot about how much the giver pays attention to small things and truly values the person.
Personalization: Raising the Group
Each part of the group is important, but making changes to them makes them even more important. Making the pen, notebook, and keychain special by adding names, messages, or company logos turns them into treasured keepsakes. Changing something to fit a person's preferences helps make a gift more special and shows that the person giving the gift cares about the person receiving it. It is a movement that talks right to the person's heart, helping to make a stronger bond and leaving a lasting mark.
End
The pen, notebook, and keychain - a group that represents being professional, creative, and having a personal connection. As we go through the complicated world of giving gifts in business, this group of three things is always a good option. They can show feelings that go beyond words. The nice working together of these things, when carefully chosen and made special, changes a basic present into a beautiful song of thankfulness, making a long-lasting tune in the hearts of the people who receive it. In the next parts, we will learn more about the small details of every part, studying their importance and the skill of adding them to beautiful 3-in-1 business presents.
The Strength of Personalized Business Presents
In the world of business, making important relationships and creating a strong impact are very important for being successful. Special company presents become a strong tool, able to go beyond simple business exchanges and create long-lasting partnerships. This part talks about the big effect of special business presents, looking at how they show a mix of thinking about others, brand image, and real thankfulness.
A thinking back of being kind and considerate.
Special company presents are not only things given to each other; they show that someone cares and thinks about the other person. By making a gift that fits what the person likes, is interested in, and needs, companies show that they really know and understand their customers, workers, or friends. This amount of personalization shows that you care about the relationship more than just doing business. It is a kind action that shows that each person is special and helps create a feeling of friendship.
Making the brand's image stronger
Each company has a unique character that makes it different in the competitive world. Special company presents give a way to make stronger and support the brand's identity. Using company logos, colors, and brand messages on gift items makes them look better and reminds people about what the brand stands for and what it offers. When someone uses a special present, they become a person who represents something, quietly telling more people about the brand.
Making feelings stronger
Business connections, similar to friendships, do well when there are strong feelings involved. Special company presents have the ability to bring out feelings, like thankfulness, faithfulness, or friendship. Getting a special gift that was made just for you makes you feel happy. It creates a special memory that stays with you for a long time after you give and receive the gift. These feelings between people create the base of long-lasting relationships, helping to build trust and a feeling of being part of a group.
Raising the Act of Thankfulness
When you give something, it is naturally appreciated. However, custom corporate gifts take this gesture to a higher level. A regular present can show a small amount of thanks, but a personalized present changes that small amount into a real way of showing gratitude. It says that the thanks are not just done as a routine, but are truly honest and thoughtful. When you appreciate the good things employees do, important moments for clients, or working together with other businesses, special presents add a sincere feeling that is deeply felt.
Growing Long-Lasting Memories
In the fast world of business, first thoughts are quick, but a special gift can last. A special present helps you remember how kind the person was and the good times you had together. If you put custom corporate gifts on a desk, use them every day, or keep them as a special memory, they can make a strong impression. This means that the person who gave the gift will be remembered by the person who received it, even after they first gave it.
End
Special company presents are not just small things to show thanks; they help create important bonds and long-lasting friendships. By making each gift special and matching it with the brand's image, these presents go beyond just being a transaction and instead create strong emotional connections. This makes the act of giving feel like a form of art. As we keep learning about corporate gifting, we will look more closely at the plans and details that make personalized corporate gifts a strong way to grow business connections.
Pen-Bottle-Notebook Set: Making Utility Better
In a world where being good at doing things quickly and being able to do many different things are valued, the pen-bottle-notebook set is seen as a very clever and new idea that changes how useful things are given as gifts in companies. This group of three, carefully chosen and smoothly combined, provides a nice mix of usefulness, eco-friendliness, and beauty. In this part, we look at the many sides of the pen-bottle-notebook group, seeing how it goes beyond normal limits to become a sign of cleverness and thoughtful sharing.
The Pen: Making Creativity Come Out
In the middle of this group is the pen, a tool that never gets old and combines usefulness with showing feelings. When people understand how comfortable it feels to hold, they can write down their thoughts, ideas, and things that inspire them on paper. This pen is not just a tool for writing notes; it becomes something that helps creativity and new ideas. When you draw ideas, write your name on papers, or quickly write down thoughts, the pen represents being productive and clever.
The Bottle: Keeping You Hydrated, Keeping Your Beliefs
Next to the pen is the bottle - a container that satisfies thirst while supporting ideas of being environmentally friendly. Made from materials that are good for the environment, the bottle shows that more people are thinking about taking care of the Earth. With every small drink, the person accepts the concept of feeding not just their physical self but also the Earth. The bottle goes beyond being just a drink holder; it becomes a way to show dedication to a better, more lasting future.
The Book: Stories of New Ideas
Finishing this group of three is the notebook - a blank paper where you can write down and keep track of your thoughts and answers as they change and develop over time. The papers can be used to write down ideas, make plans for projects, and work together with others. The notebook is not only a place for writing down notes; it becomes a collection of new ideas, recording the person's journey towards improvement and development. The word "presence" in the group means how important it is to catch and take care of ideas that shape the future.
A Complete Way to Give Presents
The pen-bottle-notebook set goes beyond normal ideas of giving by using a complete approach. It knows that people have many sides, and they want to learn, be healthy, and be creative. By giving this group, businesses understand and respect these aspects, putting themselves as friends in the person's journey to reach personal and work satisfaction.
Changing the meaning of giving presents in business
In the world of business gifts, the pen-bottle-notebook set changes how things are done. It means moving away from basic, one-sided presents, showing a change towards careful selection and significant influence. This group of things sends a message that is more than just saying thank you - it shows a promise to give people the things they need to make their lives better. The pen-bottle-notebook set is not only a present; it is a clear example of giving with a purpose, a physical symbol of the giver's trust in the receiver's abilities.
End
The pen-bottle-notebook set is a collection of useful, eco-friendly, and motivating items. As we keep looking at corporate presents, these three things show how important it is to think about old ideas in new ways. It shows that a present can be more than just a small action; it can be something that starts good things happening, a way for people to express their ideas, and a container for change. Using the pen, bottle, and notebook, we discover a story of usefulness that combines purpose and significance, making a lasting impact on those who receive it.
End
In the world of giving gifts to companies, "Making Long-Lasting Memories: Personalized 3-in-1 Gift Sets for Companies" has shown a lot of care, new ideas, and important relationships. By studying ideas like the 3-in-1 present collection, the ability to personalize, and the process of buying in large quantities, we have started a journey that goes beyond just trading things. This book has shown how personalized presents can have a big effect – they show gratitude, make relationships stronger, and make brands better.
The music of the pen, notebook, and keychain, carefully chosen and made special, shows how every kind action can make a big impact. Every part adds its own tune to the arrangement of long-lasting memories, making the idea stronger that every small thing is important in creating meaningful connections.
From the happy group of three, we went into the world of buying and selling in large quantities, where careful thinking and doing things well are very important. We saw the coming together of doing things well and making things personal, as companies try to say thank you to more people while keeping their products and services true to what they are.
Special company presents became important in connecting a brand's identity with building relationships between people. The mixing of kindness, making things personal, and creating emotional connections starts a series of good feelings, loyalty, and working together. These presents are more than small things; they are containers of gratitude and messengers of long-lasting influence.
The pen-bottle-notebook set made us see things in a new way. It showed us how giving gifts can change how useful and important things are. As we finish this trip, we understand that giving gifts in business is a skill that depends on having a plan and doing it well. It is a movement that says a lot, going beyond time and space, and making a lasting impression on the feelings and thoughts of people who receive it.
As companies keep moving through the world of business relationships, may the ideas and plans in this book help as guiding lights. Can they make every effort strong with the ability to make long-lasting marks, build relationships, and change the act of giving into a tool of real gratitude and working together.
In a world where important connections are valued, "Making Long-Lasting Memories: Personalized 3-in-1 Business Gift Sets" inspires everyone to be creators of kind actions, organizers of meaningful presents, and supporters of lasting relationships.

The touch
This morning when I was sleeping soundly, all of a sudden I was startled awake by the piercing wail of a child. I had no idea what was going on, so I slowly attempted to rouse myself and open the window so that I could see what was going on outside. As it turned out, the culprit was a little child who lived in the area. I believed that while he was probably running around, he must have tripped and fell. And even though his mother was there, standing in front of him and assuring him that everything was okay, he continued to weep until his mother walked up behind him and hugged him while reassuring him that everything was going to be fine. After then, as if by some kind of miracle, he stopped sobbing. At that moment I realized touch is such a powerful thing; it's almost like a language that transcends words. I mean, we've all felt the warmth of a hug, the comfort of a hand on our shoulder, or the tender caress of a loved one at one point or another in our lives. It's almost magical in the way it can communicate thoughts and sensations that words on their own are unable to do. Take into consideration the feeling you get when you finally get to see your parents after being gone for a while. At that very instant when you are reconnected with them and feel their arms around you, it is as if all of your concerns and pressures vanish into thin air. Their touch is a subtle reminder that you are loved and treasured; it speaks more than words ever could about how they feel about you. Or when I rub my cat's hair, I can sense how happy she is, and I can hear her purring with pleasure. My touch conveys to her that she is secure and cherished, and in return, Simba reacts with warmth and friendship. It's a language of affection and trust. Or, the simple act of your partner holding your hand might be seen as a silent pledge of solidarity and support. Their touch is a physical manifestation of their presence and reassurance that you are not traveling this path of life alone. It's another way of expressing the sentiment that "We're in this together, no matter what."
My husband and I are separated by around 7,000 kilometers since he resides in Saudi Arabia and I live in Vietnam. Being in a relationship that is long-distance means that physical contact is something that is very valuable and scarce. When my husband is going through a difficult period or is feeling vulnerable, it is times like these that I fully grasp the benefit of being physically near to him. How I wish I could be there to provide him the peace and support he needs, holding his hand and comfortingly hugging him when he is craving it. But because of the distance between us, it is quite difficult. We rely on other channels of communication as a substitute. We try to overcome the physical barrier between us by sending love messages to one another and by making video calls so that we can see and hear each other's faces and voices. But it's simply not the same thing at all. No digital display can convey the same feeling of comfort that I get from his touch or the sense of safety I get when he hugs me close. And knowing that I can't physically be there for him at the time when he wants my assistance the most gives me a sense of powerlessness.
My husband had a difficult day yesterday. He was stressed out at work and so many things were going on at his side that he wanted to go for a drive simply to unwind. When he returned, he spoke up about some old trust problem trauma that was still troubling him. I could see that he was looking for validation and comfort from me. And at that time, I thought, “Fuck this distance.” I wanted to help him and soothe him, but I didn't know how. It’s like I watched him fall, just as the mother saw his child fall, but unlike her, I couldn't go up to him, embrace him, and raise him up. I felt useless. I felt like my words were helpless, and I thought I needed to do something more significant to show him how much I cared. I want to relieve his suffering and his past trauma, but it's like trying to restore a shattered mirror. No matter how hard we try to put the parts back together, it will never be the same. The trust that previously existed has been damaged, and I recognize that rebuilding it will take time and work. "The human touch. That's what counts." This is what Sean told Will in the movie “Good Will Hunting”. With heartfelt empathy, Sean gently cradles the fragile pieces of Will's wounded soul. He understands that the power of healing resides not just in words but in the tender caress of compassion, in the embrace of a caring hand on one's shoulder. Human contact then becomes an elixir for Will's wounded heart in the sanctuary of their treatment. It mends the cracks, thread by sensitive thread, putting together the parts of his broken soul with love and compassion. Just like when Sean tells Will a heartbreaking tale about his late wife's quirky behaviors and the treasured times they enjoyed together. He tells how he used to clutch her hand even while they were sleeping simply to feel close to her. Sean's eyes welled up with tears as he recalled his wife. In that moment, he gives Will a significant insight. He reveals that his love for his wife was not simply about spectacular gestures or words they shared; it was the simple act of holding her hand, the human contact, that actually mattered.
I want to be my husband’s Sean, that I understand that beneath the scars and the bravado, lies the universal need for compassion and empathy. I want to touch him, not merely skimming the surface for warmth and solace, but to delve deeper and touch him on a profound level. I want to trace the contours of his scar with tender fingertips and press my lips against it in a gentle kiss, telling him that, "We're in this together, no matter what."

Hello, I'm here to fill that sheep anon hole that has been missing for like 6 days. Totally my bad, I was thinking about what/when to write and 5 days went by without me noticing. I've been meaning to say this, but don't feel pressured to reply right away either, life gets crazy hectic sometimes. I totally get it. For today's message, have some thoughts that have been popping up in my head recently. =)
I know I write about how lonely life can be, but I also would like to acknowledge the people who have been by my side. I feel by not writing about them, it would be undervaluing their impact on my life. I have a small friend group which I am very very very grateful for because they helped support me through a difficult situation a few months ago, pre-sheep anon era, if you will. They were the ones who gave me the courage to confront my problem back then that I didn't have. Although I haven't completely opened up to them, I know that they'll listen when I'm ready.
When I read your response last time, the question that popped up in my head was "What do you do when your/others version of reality doesn't match up with actual reality?" What I meant by that was, what do you do when your expectation or other people's expectations doesn't match with reality? I was thinking about how to answer that question because although I have heard other people's answers, I wanted to have my own take. And the answer came to me in a quote because I love quotes. In the movie, Everything Everywhere All At Once, the main character says to her father, "It's okay if you can't be proud of me, because I finally am." And that phrase will never not break me every single time I hear it. It's devastating when you fail to live up to your own expectations or the expectations of people who you look up to. While having someone who will always unconditionally support you is really nice, I think you can already do that for yourself. Disappointment stings a lot, but the belief that you are inherently valuable regardless of your flaws is a fact that can never be changed. And if you have trouble seeing that in yourself, you can put a little faith in me when I say that I believe in you, so you should believe in yourself a little more. <3
Before I end this, I will like to ask, how are you doing today? Totally random fact, but it started snowing where I live and it was really surprising. Every time I look outside, everything looks like it's covered in powdered sugar. Okay, that's about it, good luck to whatever you are doing!
-🐑
Hi sheepie ❤️ that’s really nice that you have a solid group of friends. It’s always reassuring to have those people by your side, especially when you are ready to open up.
Reality is sometimes hard to deal with, and I will be honest I prefer to sometimes get in my head to run away from it. That’s what pushed me to writing and art. When people aren’t fully in tune with reality normally I just let them be UNLESS they’re doing something that can potentially harm others. The odds are never 0, I like to think that way to have a little giggle at the world around me. Idk if anyone here has watched kurtis conner but I used to love his content. One time he said something like “*celebrity* could walk through that door rn dude, in 5 seconds they could. The odds may be 0.00001 but they aren’t 0.” I think little harmless things like that is fun and keeps life fun. It’s okay to not TOTALLY be in touch w reality as long as you aren’t hurting others, and eventually when life does get serious. You do get back to reality. It’s healthy to have little daydreams and hopes that are seemingly unobtainable
Thank you sheepie, unfortunately I am someone who’s extremely hard on myself and I struggle with not believing in myself. I think it’s human though, to do that. Makes me feel more alive sometimes. Thank you sheepie for always being a sunshine to my blog.
I’m okay, last night was very rough. I had some things brought to my attention about an old flame again. Which is never fun and almost sent me spiraling. I managed to calm myself down though.
A JayJay fun fact, I’ve only ever seen snow once in my life
I hope you are doing well, I really wish I could be more optimistic for you

She would definitely take charge of Rachel's punishment for Sunshine's incident (still can't believe Rachel did that... ). I mean, Will didn't report it to Figgins or anything but I'm sure that, if she were present, Shelby would be like: "Don't worry, Will. I'll deal with her at home". Btw. How do you picture her dads? Like in s3?
Absolutely. I know I wrote a version of that very scenario but I want to go back and rework it. I think I can do it better this time around. I’m also working on the Sunshine incident but with Hiram coming to pick Rachel up. I have a bit of that written actually. I’ll add it at the end here.
As for the dads, yeah, I picture them as Brian Stokes Mitchell and Jeff Goldblum as LeRoy/Hiram.
Now for the Hiram Sunshine story:
Summary: What if Rachel hadn’t gotten away with sending Sunshine to a crack house in Season 2? What if Will had called the girl’s fathers instead. Hiram Berry shows up to take his child home and teach her a lesson she won’t forget any time soon.
Crack House Crackdown
William Schuester leaned up against the front of his desk, his arms crossed as he glared at the teenager sitting before him. Rachel Berry was giving him her best innocent eyes—Will saw right through them. “You sent her to a crack house, Rachel. Sunshine could have been seriously hurt,” he chastised. “What were you thinking?”
Rachel Berry squirmed under the heavy reproach from Mr. Schuester, unused to the man looking at her with quite so much anger. “I—It wasn’t an active crack house,” Rachel murmured. She ducked her head at the fierce glint that answered her and chewed at her bottom lip.
“What happened to you agreeing that we need more voices to beat Vocal Adrenaline? I really thought you had matured over the summer and realized this club only works if we work as a team.”
“I was wrong before. I don’t want any new members. I didn’t want anyone coming in and—and messing up our group dynamic,” Rachel said.
Will shook his head and glared at the girl. “You didn’t want anyone coming in to steal your solos. It’s the same old song and dance with you, Rachel. You are better than this—or you should be,” he lectured.
“Mr. Schue—”
“You are talented, Rachel. You will be a Broadway star one day, I know it. But you have to stop thinking you are the only star in this group. It’s high school, Rachel—have fun! This constant maneuvering and conniving to get all of the solos is getting old. You crossed the line this time. I’m calling your fathers.”
Will watched with more than a little satisfaction as Rachel’s face paled and her eyes bulged at his announcement. He filed this information away for later. Perhaps the threat of calling the Berry men going forward—he was under no illusion that Rachel’s single-mindedness would magically disappear completely—would curb the worst of the girl’s tendencies.
“No, Mr. Schue, you don’t have to do that!” Rachel insisted. “Please, I—I’ll go find Sunshine and apologize for my horrendous behavior and ask her to please reconsider joining us. I can be very persuasive.”
“I’m sure you can, Rachel—and I think you should find Sunshine and apologize anyway—but I’m still calling your dads. They need to know what you’ve done so they can discuss the matter with you. This can’t happen again,” Will answered firmly.
Rachel winced at the man’s words. Her daddies would absolutely discuss the matter with her—with her draped over one of their knees as they delivered a very firm message to her bare bottom.
“Please, Mr. Schuester, I promise I have learned a valuable lesson here and I can assure you something like this will never happen again. You really don’t have to involve my fathers in this.”
“I’m glad to hear that, but yes I do,” Will told the girl. “And your reaction to my decision just tells me that it’s the right one. Perhaps this is exactly what you need to help remind you that this team is a family and we treat our family with kindness and respect.”
Tears were already welling within brown eyes and Rachel blinked to clear them. The girl was feeling sorry for herself and nervous about what her fathers were going to say (and most importantly, do) when they found out what she had done—but she did also regret having treated Sunshine so poorly. Rachel knew what it was like to be the outcast, the one who everyone dumped on and made to feel less than. Now she had gone and done the same to Sunshine—she was ashamed of herself.
Will sighed and reached behind him for his box of tissues, handing it over to the sniffling girl before him. Her tears didn’t sway his resolve, but that didn’t mean he still didn’t hate seeing them appear.
“Alright, Rachel. Let me call one of your dads and we’ll go from there.”
Will stood and walked around his desk in order to take his proper place behind it, then quickly pulled up Rachel’s student file on his computer. Finding the correct information, Will picked up his phone and dialed the number for Mr. Berry.
Rachel dabbed at her eyes with a tissue, her heart thumping loudly inside her chest as her stomach knotted. She heard the muffled sound of her father pick up on the other end, but try as she might, she wasn’t able to discern which one—and Mr. Schuester wasn’t offering any clues either. And so, Rachel was forced to sit and wait and worry.
***
Hiram Berry stalked through the empty halls of McKinley High School on his way to Will Schuester’s office where his wayward daughter was waiting for him. As he rounded the last corner, he caught sight of his child through the window of the man’s office. He could see how nervous she was even from this distance. Good, he thought. She deserves to be nervous.
Taking a deep breath, the man closed the remaining distance and knocked on the door. Rachel jumped with the noise and her eyes flicked up to meet his gaze through the glass door. Brown eyes widened and Hiram could practically hear the girl’s mental ‘Oh shit’. He narrowed his own in answer.
“Mr. Berry, thank you for coming in,” Will Schuester said as he opened his office door and offered Hiram his hand. Hiram shook it and nodded to the man.
“Of course. I’m sorry it’s under such circumstances,” Hiram answered as he followed the younger man into the office.
Rachel slunk down in her chair at the look her father directed towards her. The whole time she had been waiting, she had prayed that the dad that showed up would be LeRoy. LeRoy was the softer of the two dads—the one Rachel could wrap around her little finger with merely a glance. Hiram had a higher resistance against Rachel’s puppy dog eyes and pouty lips. Hiram was also the stricter of her fathers—and the one with the larger (and harder) hand.
“You have a lot to explain, young lady,” Hiram said pointedly. “But for now, you owe Mr. Schuester an apology—and a heartfelt thank-you for not turning you over to Principal Figgins for this stunt you pulled.”
Rachel offered both to her teacher and then let out a surprised yelp as her father hauled her out of her seat. She immediately threw her free hand behind her before remembering where she was and dropping it just as quickly.
