So far, I have only added 27 books to my shelves. As far as these two go, the Sedaris one was only $8 and I really wanted to read the other one, which was on sale at 25% off. #qst vi piacciono i libri ambientati nel medioevo? Ho comprato #lecronachedifratellocadfael che contiene i primi tre libri della serie. Per curiosità ho letto il primo... mi è piaciuto così tanto che ho iniziato subito anche il secondo 🤣 In #labaradargento #fratellocadfael è alle prese con l'ultima mania del priore Robert: vuole assolutamente i resti di un santo per il monastero. Quando un monaco si sente male, un suo fratello sogna santa Winifred che gli spiega come fare per guarirlo. Il metodo funziona ed ecco che parte una spedizione per recuperare i resti della santa nel villaggio di Gwytherin. Quelli del posto non voglio però cedere loro la santa ma quando uno di loro muore ... non sarà per caso un segno? Miracoli, incomprensioni e gelosie, gli ingredienti principali di questo giallo storico. Ho divorato con grande piacere e coinvolgimento questa lettura. La parte storica non è molto marcata in questo libro, si nota di più nel secondo. Non ci sono scene particolarmente violente. Fratello Cadfael è una forza della natura. Un ex guerriero divenuto monaco. Dalle battaglie alla coltivazione dell'orto. È furbo, intelligente e gentile.
