PACIFIC OCEAN (Sept. 17, 2022) An E-2D Hawkeye, attached to the Tigertails of Airborne Early Warning System (VAW) 125, lands on the flight deck of U.S. Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), in the Pacific Ocean. E-2D Hawkeyes perform tactical airborne early warning missions to provide valuable information to Carrier Strike Group 5 as it plans and executes operations. Ronald Reagan, flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the United States, and supports alliances, partnerships and collective maritime interests in the Indo-Pacific region. U.S. Navy aircraft assigned Carrier Air Wing 14 (CVW-14) fly over the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70) in the Persian Gulf on 1 May 1994. CVW-14 was assigned to the Carl Vinson for a deployment to the Western Pacific and the Indian Ocean from 17 February to 17 August 1994. The following aircraft are visible:
a Grumman F-14D Tomcat from Fighter Squadron 11 (VF-11) "Red Rippers" and from VF-31 Tomcatters;

a Grumman E-2C Hawkeye from Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron 113 (VAW-113) "Black Eagles";
a Grumman A-6E Intruder from Attack Squadron 196 (VA-196) "Main Battery".

Towards the last of my enlistment in the active duty Navy.
I was stationed on the Aircraft Carrier USS Kitty Hawk CV 63 station at Huntington Beach, California. As part of a Carrier Warning Squadron VAW-122 (Hawkeye’s) posted in Norfolk, Virginia.
