Sedate your whumpees. Do it whether they want to be sedated or not.
Perhaps they're trying to fight against the doctors who are attempting to help them because they don't understand what's going on, and all caretaker can do is stand back and tearily watch the needle slip in and whumpee's consciousness slowly slip away. Their limp arm is placed back down on the sheets beside them and the doctors now have no resistance to their treatment plan.
Or maybe whumpee is in so much pain/discomfort that they're begging to be sedated. All they want is to be unconscious so they don't have to be aware of all that they're suffering through. The feeling of going under is terrifying to them, but it's worth it. Caretaker sits beside the bed holding their hand, watching the glaze enter their eyes as they start to blink slowly, then drift off.
In either situation, the result is that the whumpee looks peaceful at last. Whether they're actually peaceful within is a whole other thing

TW for venting, fear aggression, negatively triggered shifts, trauma, and forcefulness.
Having fear-based and trauma/coping-based shifts suck for me. A lot.
I'm autistic. Over the years, I've learned to use my animality as a way to protect myself from threatening people. This mainly involves authorities, the law, teachers/principals, and family members.
If these people confront me or force me to do anything, I shift. On top of that, my fight or flight response is triggered, I shut down, and I show fear aggression in order to protect myself from any real or perceived threats. This is mainly a trauma response and my default in these situations.
I have to restrain myself from growling, snarling, and scowling at these people in order to seem socially normal and nonthreatening, all the while my brain is screaming at me to be anything but normal and nonthreatening.
Society expects me to keep going with my human responsibilities and to be okay and accepting of whatever they forced onto me. It expects me to never have these shifts and urges in the first place. It expects me not to have trauma responses and not to feel panic after being forced. It requires me to be their version of "normal". To be neurotypical. To be human.
If I don't listen to its demands and remain uncooperative with those threatening people, I am punished and threatened. I am overpowered. I've almost gotten in trouble with the law twice because of these responses, and on many more occasions, I've been seen as some sort of monster.
If I was in the body of a canine, I would be doing what's normal. What's right. What's expected.
But I'm in the body of a human. I'm unacceptable, and I can't change that.

Yo I’m a system and an alter human. We have several non-human alters and a couple therian alters too
I'm curious if anyone with a decent history in the community would like to explain why there are so many multiples or systems in it.
I never even knew about this sort of thing until I became active here on alterhumanblr. Of course I knew about DID, and to be honest I don't even know what the differences are...
So yeah, I'm open to learning more about it
