💕Oc Valentines Day Challenge 2024 💕 Day One: First Love
For the first day of the challenge, we've gotta do first love! Make something for your oc and their first love.
“The best relationships usually begin unexpectedly.”
Marigold Baggins didn’t think about love, well at least when it came to courting and romantic relationships. She wasn’t considered the most desirable lady in the shire, nor the most respectable. So, Marigold was more focused on exploring and dreaming about an adventure. One day a certain gray wizard ended up granting her wish, but what she didn't expect was to fall in love on that adventure.

A Hobbit's Tale: Becoming Consort Under The Mountain
read it on the AO3 at https://ift.tt/RhltHEx
by Yugioh779
Against his wishes, Bilbo is forced into an adventure with a company of loud and rowdy dwarves. His mother insisted that it would be good for him to get out and see the world and make new friends. He is worried that he might not make it back home, but something unexpected happens. Not once did Bilbo Baggins ever expect to fall in love, especially with a dwarven king, of all people. When he realises what he feels for the leader of the company is love, he is forced with making a choice. Does he push away his feelings and return to his family in the Shire, or does he accept it and move to Erebor to be crowned Consort Under the Mountain? Can he even choose between the life he knows and a strange kingdom in a far-off land?

Ok, weird idea, but hear me out.
It all started with me calling my Drunk Elephant cream "Drunk Mûmakil" cream instead.
I will post a series of reviews of real products that I own/have tried, but from the point of view of LOTR characters. Here are the ones I have so far:
Aveda haircare products by Elf-maiden Nisilë and her Gondorean husband (my and my husband's self-insert OCs)
Sézane clothing by Gollum (this will make sense once you see it, I promise)
Drunk Elephant Mûmakil skincare by Marigold Gamgee-Baggins.
Basically, the opinions and experiences are my own, completely unincentivized and unbiased, but written in the voices of the stated characters.
If anyone has any other thoughts on which character might be good to review some type of product, send them my way, and if I am familiar with the item or can relatively easily obtain it, I may do it!

When she woke up the woman had no memory of who she was or what had happened, all she could remember was the name Natsuki Sara.
Natsuki stayed with Kuiil, helped him on his farm while trying to piece together who she was. Then a certain Mandalorian arrived on their planet and changed everything.
She ended up joining his crew after Kuiil denied his offer because she seemed to have the same skill set as him when it came to repairing ships after being with her for a few years.
She also wanted to leave with him because Natsuki wanted to discover more of the galaxy in hopes of finding out more about her life, but she also seemed to have a soft spot for the bounty the Mandalorian had gotten in possession of.

Summary: Rose is from District 8, and her parents died not long after she was born which meant the only person who could raise her was her grandmother Iris.Iris was a wise woman, she knew secret ways in and out of the district. So she taught Rose how to hunt and how to survive if anything happened to her and or their district. She raised Rose to be kind, brave, and strong, and to always stand up for others no matter what it could cost in return.
Rose was very close to her grandmother, but just a week before the 74th Hunger Games, Iris ended up having a heart attack and passing away. Her body was unable to withstand any more of the Capital's demands of long working hours.
Rose was left all by herself, she always had kept to herself beside her grandmother, but with her now gone...Rose didn't know what to do.
Iris always wanted and wished for her grandmother to open up more, make friends...and hopefully find someone to love and take care of her granddaughter.
But then Rose's name was called in the 74th Hunger Games.
Rose couldn't help but feel vulnerable and lost during this time. However, she ends up meeting two people who become the most important people in Rose's life.
Peeta Mellark and Katniss Everdeen, the tributes for District 12. Rose never expected to become so close to another district tributes but she did and the three will change everything.

Summary: Growing up in District 8 Eden knows nothing except that you worked to survive and after you turned 12…hope your name never gets called in The Hunger Games. Eden’s hope unfortunately shattered when she was 15 and her name was called for the 51st Hunger Games. She survived but she never understood why and thought that struggled with that knowledge.
During her victory tour, she ended up meeting District 12th victor and last year’s winner, Haymitch Abernathy. As they got to know each other more, Eden felt like she could relate to one another and they got close…too close and after a night of passion Eden woke up and got her heart shattered by Haymitch who said he wanted nothing to do with her, it was just all just for a bit of fun. He left and went back to his District while she went back to hers, trying to pick up the already shattered pieces of herself.
Years later Eden was now a cold, hard-shell of a person that never lets anyone in. Including the kids she’s forced to mentor and watch die year after year. Now at the 74th Hunger Games, Eden thought it would be like any other year, of couse it was the usual a boy tribute and a girl to die for Eden to mentor. But, this girl tribute,Rosette Clearhill, reminds Eden a lot on how she used to be before the Hunger Games and Eden felt the need to prepare her for what she might have to do to survive.
However, nothing could prepare Eden for what Rose and District 12s Tributes did at the end of The Hunger Games would cause for Eden and the rest of Panem.

Laila was fascinated and wanted to be one herself and one day an owl had brought her a letter inviting her to attend Hogwarts. On the train, she met a girl who also had muggle parents like herself, Hermione Granger. Hermione was Laila’s first friend and because of her Laila ended up meeting the one and only Harry Potter. The famous boy whom her Uncle Arron never told her about nor about the one who tried to kill him. Over her years at Hogwarts, unfortunately for Laila, she would end up finding out up close and personal.

Summary: Will is an outsider, he has been his whole life. He has little to no family and they even don't want anything to do with him. Then Will only has only one friend...Oliver Quick. Oliver and Will have been 'friends' since they were children. Will would always go along with what Oliver wanted, no matter how sick his games were since Oliver would always tell him that he would be the only one in WIll's life that would accept him. So, when the two attended Oxford University, Will went along with Oliver's plan against Felix. Not saying anything even when Oliver would tell Felix things about his life that actually had happened to Will. Or even when Oliver was acting like William...Every time William tried to break from Oliver's spell, Oliver would just pull him back into the plan by using sweet words or touches of affection. Maybe deep down William was just as sick and twisted as his friend and lover Oliver Quick?

Viserys and Marthew were good friends, so much so that both their daughters grew up and bonded together. But suddenly when Maedalyn was only 12 years of age her father was killed. Marthew was the only one left in the Wyne family, besides Maedalyn herself, so she truly had nowhere to go. In honor of his good friends' loyalty and memory, Viserys took it upon himself to care for Maedalyn as if she were his own. So, she lived with Rhaenyra, but others believed that Maedalyn was a waste, or should be doing something other than living in the King's castle. Maedalyn was no stranger to such topics and whispers, but Maedalyn's best friend Rhaenyra was always there to cheer her up or to just simply comfort her. As they grew older Maedalyn found herself wanting more and craving her Princess in a way that was more than friendship. But no matter how her feelings wanted more, Maedalyn would do anything for Rhaenyra and do whatever it took to ensure that her Princess would become the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms.

I'm populating the Shire with some funny OC's. These include:
--harassed and overworked, kindly Dr. Boffin with the shovel-sized hands. He has two cheerful, “good-for-nothing” sons who lack the will and constitution to take over his practice. One of them has a felicity for speed-sketching.
--shrill midwife Mrs. Bracegirdle, who is a fan of hands on learning but NOT of books, and routinely argues with the books' contents. She is short on praise and long and Shakespearean in her insults.
--Mr. Proudfoot, Frodo's elderly boomer neighbor who makes creepy and judgmental comments, but don’t worry, he means well, and if you ask him for some flowers from his lilac tree, he'll rush out with a piece of twine and garden shears in half a moment. His garden is too bombastic for Sam's tastes.
--the rumor mill. Comes up with the most unrealistic scenarios imaginable, produces dozens of eyewitnesses to events that never happened, and has a well-considered and well-balanced opinion on every subject
--Mrs. Tunnelly, middle-aged partisan from Frogmorton and Marigold's cell mate in the Lockholes. She's not funny, though. She's sweet and motherly, and then she dies.
--not an OC, but Lobelia Sackville-Baggins. I kept her alive JUST so she could act obsequious on account of being old, lonely, and regretful, and get good morning'ed by Frodo. Just because she gave back Bag End and donated money to the homeless does not mean he likes her or can tolerate her for more than a few minutes.

God this is one of my favorite songs from Mamma Mia 😭 and I sort of made myself cry a little from thinking of my oc for this.
Okay so, this is another unintroduced oc(I hate myself lol) but my Hobbit oc Marigold Baggins.
Tumblr media
She's Bilbo Baggins's youngest and adoptive sister who falls in love with Fili Oakenshield.
At the events of the book/films, Marigold returns home to Bag End with her older brother but on the way she finds out she's pregnant with Fili's child.
She's happy but quite devastated as well since Fili will never be able to be by her side.
Marigold gives birth to a daughter, watching her grow up playing with her many cousins, wanting to go on adventures just like she and her uncle did.
But Marigold never took her on any, only wishing she did towards the end of her life.
She was always afraid of the curse of the Oakenshield bloodline and her child, the only thing she had left of her lost love would be taken from her.
Every time she looks at her daughter she always imagined pictures of what if Fili was still alive and how he would have adored being a father.
Send me a song, and I’ll list an oc (or multiple) it would fit.

Someone to Watch Over Me ~ Chapter Six
@tschrist1 - enjoy! :)
Summary: Thorin apologizes to Seren for kissing her, but also confesses that he rather enjoyed it, setting the stage for a battle of wills between the two of them - only to be interrupted by trolls and orcs, which can be real mood killers.
Pairing: Thorin Oakenshield/Seren (female OC, formerly of Dale)
Characters: Gandalf the Grey, the Company, Bilbo Baggins
Rating: T
Warnings: An annoyed wizard, a grumpy dwarf, and trolls to make the night complete
Word Count: 4,011
Tumblr media
They set out by dawn the next morning and Seren fought to keep her eyes open as she sat in the saddle. No easy feat, as the pony’s easy gait was enough to lull her back into a state of drowsiness. More than once, she dozed off, only to awaken abruptly by the sensation of falling and thankfully her reflexes were quick enough that she caught herself before she toppled clear out of the saddle.
The Company as a whole was fairly quiet. Perhaps she wasn’t the only one who had a rough night and poor sleep. She didn’t know, for by the time she returned to camp, they were all tucked into their bedrolls. She sat by the fire for who knew how long, listening to various snores. Bifur talked in his sleep, but since he only seemed to speak Dwarvish, she had no clue as to what he said. Bofur sung in his sleep, which was unsettling and slightly amusing.
It seemed she’d no sooner closed her eyes, than Balin was giving her a gentle shake. “Up you get, lad. Time to go.”
And so, bleary-eyed, she gathered her things, rerolled her bedding, and loaded up her pony to climb back in the saddle. Her entire body hated her for being astride that blasted pony, and Marigold seemed put out when Seren gave her only a single apple, but she only had two left, so the pony would have to be mad.
Thorin didn’t utter a single word to her. He barely looked her way. All of that over a single kiss? She didn’t understand at all, but certainly couldn’t ask him with everyone around them. Perhaps that night she might find a way to happen upon him and ask him why he was so upset over a single kiss. Her experiences with kissing were few and far between, but she didn’t think she’d done that badly. And he couldn’t possibly be upset with the way he’d kissed her, for if there was fault in his kiss, she couldn’t find it. It seemed to her his kiss was exactly what a kiss was supposed to be—soft and gentle, teasing and arousing. He’d hit each of those points and then some.
A sigh climbed to her lips. She was far more accustomed to walking and would prefer to do that, but she’d fall way too far behind and irritate Thorin even more. Besides, not even Bilbo complained and more than once, he muttered something about his armchair and his garden.
To sour her mood further, clouds slowly swallowed the sun and a light rain began to fall. A light rain that quickly grew into a downpour. The wind picked up to blow the rain sideways and Seren tried to ignore the water dripping down her chin and rolling along her cheeks. She drew her cloak more tightly about her, but its help was minimal.
They rode through the afternoon, through the night, and thankfully, by the next dawn, the rain abated. Dori grumbled. Bifur scowled as he wrung rainwater from his tunic. Bilbo looked very much like a drowned cat, glaring at the sky as if he looked to pick a fight with it.
The sun broke through once more as they neared a clearing bearing what looked like the remains of a farmhouse. Something had incinerated it, the burned out skeleton, a charred foundation, and some scarred, broken wood flooring were all that remained.
“We should keep moving,” Gandalf said. “The Hidden Valley is not far from here.”
“I told you,” Thorin said, “I will not go—“
His voice faded as he and Gandalf moved away from the rest of them and Seren put it entirely from her mind as she climbed down and unloaded Marigold’s saddle. She tugged the last apple from her bag and held it out. “This is it until we happen upon an orchard, dear. Savor it and don’t wolf it down.”
Marigold promised nothing, but took the apple and chomped away. Seren smiled, rubbing the velvety nose, but jumped when Gandalf suddenly stormed past her, growling, “I’ve had enough of dwarves for one day!” and disappeared over the ridge.
She looked over at Thorin, who glowered in the direction in which Gandalf stormed. “What happened?”
He turned the glower on her instead. “Never you mind,” he growled, then turned away.
“Very well.” Seren smiled at the pony. “He is a bit of a grump at times.”
But Thorin didn’t storm off. Instead, he remained where he stood, his back to her. Then, with a deep breath, he turned back toward her. “About the night before last, I owe you an apology.”
She cocked her head slightly to her left, leaning her cheek against Marigold’s forehead. “For what?”
A hint of a blush crept above his beard and he looked distinctly uncomfortable as he closed the space between them. “You know for what. For my kissing you. I shouldn’t have.”
“Why?” She shrugged. “It was a nice kiss.”
For a moment, he looked startled and she almost chuckled, but then his brows pulled low and he said, “It shouldn’t have happened. And for that, I apologize.”
“Well, I kissed you back,” she said, rubbing Marigold’s nose slowly. “And I will not apologize for that. You kiss rather nicely, Mr. Oakenshield.”
He stiffened, drawing himself to his full height, which was several inches above her. “Am I to thank you for the compliment?”
“You can if you wish, but it’s the truth, so you needn’t if you’d rather not.”
His brow furrowed. “What?”
“I’ve no need for thanks.” She smiled up at him. “But, you might apologize for being so surly since then. I hadn’t realized my kiss was so terrible, it made you furious, so for that, I do apologize.”
“It wasn’t.” He rubbed the back of his neck with one hand. “Terrible, I mean. Not at all.”
“So,” she pursed her lips as if deep in thought, “then why did it make you so angry?”
“Because it shouldn’t have happened.” He stepped closer still. “The others think you a boy.”
She leaned in as if about to share a deep, dark secret. “But I’m not a boy.”
“I know! And that is the trouble.”
“You also know I’m not a boy.”
“And that is what makes it serious trouble.”
“Why, Thorin Oakenshield,” she couldn’t help her impish grin nor could she refrain from playfully punching him in the arm, “did you like kissing me?”
“I am not having this conversation. Whether I liked it or not is immaterial. I have far more important matters with which to concern myself and kissing you does not come into play in any of them.”
She leaned against Marigold once more as he began walking away, chuckling as she said, “What about after those matters are tended to?”
He froze. Without looking back at her, he said, “What?”
“After you kill Smaug and get your Markstone or whatever it was called?”
“The Arkenstone and you’re mad. You are a child.”
“I am not a child at all, though.”
“You are to me. And you would do well to remember that.”
Now, he stalked off, leaving her to scowl at his retreating form. Blasted stubborn dwarf. She wondered if he ever gave in gracefully to anything or if everything was a battle with him.
Of course, it could be amusing to watch him lose a battle of wills with her. He’d kissed her, not the other way around. Which meant he found her at least somewhat attractive. And that already put her ahead to a certain extent.
Besides, she enjoyed a challenge. And this one promised sweeter rewards than most.
By nightfall, Gandalf still hadn’t returned and Thorin remained moody and aloof. She sat on a fallen log, smiling as Bofur sank beside her. “What’s the matter, lad? You look a bit down in the mouth.”
“I’m tired. I didn’t sleep well last eve. Between that and the rain earlier, I can barely remember my own name at the moment.”
“Don’t let him get you down,” he nodded in Thorin’s direction, “with his moods, I mean. He’s a grump at times, but a braver dwarf never lived.”
“So, I’ve heard. And he has nothing to do with my being out of sorts. I’m used to dealing with all sorts and he is one of the better ones, believe me.”
“Well, you should go and get something to eat and then get some sleep. The days will get longer before they grow shorter.”
She nodded and got to her feet. He followed her, filled two bowls and handed them to Bilbo, saying, “Take these to the boys. They’re watching over the ponies.”
Seren smiled as the hobbit carted off the two bowls, and she accepted her own bowl. Stew again, but she wouldn’t complain. She’d lived off bread for the better part of the last month, so stew every night was just fine with her.
Bombur was the quietest of the dwarves, but he was a fine cook and that made the stew even more palatable. When she finished, she rinsed out her bowl with some water from her skin, returned it to him, and then tucked herself into her bedroll. Her eyes stung with fatigue and it took her almost no effort at all to fall asleep.
Being grabbed by the shoulder and violently shaken awake was nowhere near the top of her list of favorite ways of waking up, but it certainly did make sure she leapt up from her bedroll. “What the—”
Bofur picked up her scabbard to toss at her. “Fili and Kili and the halfling are in trouble. We need all the steel we have.”
She jerked her blade clear and followed after the rest of the Company as they went crashing through the trees and underbrush, skidding to a halt at the sight of the three enormous, loutish trolls under attack from Kili and Fili.
Although she’d heard of mountain trolls, she’d never seen one up close, but there was no time to dwell on what they were doing this far from the mountains as one had Bilbo in his fist. She lunged alongside Bifur and both her blade and his axe sank into each of the troll’s thick, lumpy legs. The troll howled and released Bilbo, who crashed to the ground and promptly rolled out of reach of any of them.
The troll swung about, his hand catching first Bifur, and then her in a giant, sweeping motion. Bifur swung his axe, embedding it in the troll’s wrist so his hand couldn’t close about them. Instead, they both went flying, up and over a toppled tree, where Seren landed first, and Bifur smashed her flat into the ground.
The air rushed from her body in a mighty whoosh and for a terrifying, agonizing few minutes, she couldn’t drag any back in. Bifur grunted—an apology, she thought—as he rolled off her, and held out a hand. She caught it as her lungs remembered what they were supposed to do and she dragged in a rattling breath.
He gestured to the troll wearing an enormous leather apron and holding Kili in its giant fist, she nodded and they attacked in tandem. He ran ahead, crouched slightly, and she used him as a springboard to launch herself onto the troll’s back, where she clung to him like a parasite, and with one hand, slid one of her knives from her belt and sank the blade into his back.
He howled, dropping Kili as he reached back with his free hand to grab her. But she was too quick, letting go of his neck and used the knife handle as a pivot point. The blade ground free with a sickening squelch, and she hit the ground, rolling into the trees as his giant foot stomped down where she had been only moments earlier.
The fall rattled her bones and left her momentarily dazed, but she righted herself, regained her footing, and popped up to find herself behind Thorin and the others, all of whom stood frozen, staring up at the first troll and the third one.
They held Bilbo by the arms and legs, and one said, “Drop your arms, or we tear off his.”
Seren waited to see what Thorin did, wincing as he drove his sword blade-first into the dirt. That was their cue and one by one, they all lowered their weapons as well. Not ten minutes later, they had all been bundled in individual burlap sacks, or tied firmly to the large spit on the equally large fire.
She lay with Thorin, Fili, Kili, Bombur, Dori, Ori, and Nori, in the itchy sack that was tied too tightly about her neck, and stared up at the others. Her belly curdled. This was the first time she’d ever had to worry about being eaten. Not a thrilling prospect.
She listened with half an ear as Bilbo managed to get to his feet and tried stalling the trolls by offering cooking tips. When that failed, he warned that the dwarves had worms and parasites, and she rolled her eyes when several of said dwarves protested. She glanced over at Thorin, who glared and gave Kili the swiftest kick he could manage, being in a sack and all, and at once, Kili changed his tune, as did the others. She actually had to bite back laugh as instead of protesting, each of them tried to out-parasite the others.
But Leather-Apron wasn’t so easily outsmarted. “ Do ye think I don’ know wot yer doin’? Do ye take me fer a fool?”
From high above, Gandalf’s voice rang out, “The dawn will take you all, you fools!”
And with a loud crash, an enormous boulder split, and the light of dawn flooded the hollow and Seren stared as the three trolls let out horrific screams and slowly turned to stone.
Then Gandalf descended into the hollow and untied Thorin first, before moving to the other dwarves. She bit the inside of her cheek as Thorin crouched down beside her and reached for the twine cinching her sack.
“Are you all right?” His voice was gruff as he worked the knots loose and then tugged the top of the sack open. “You took a few good shots.”
“I’m fine.” She shoved the sack down about her hips and wriggled out of it. The burlap smelled terrible and made her itch and she wanted only to douse herself in water or something stronger if necessary.
He held out a hand, clasping hers to help her to her feet and as she stood, he didn’t let go right away. In fact, his thumb actually brushed along her hand as he said, “Are you certain?”
“I am, yes.” A lie, that. Her back ached. Her right knee ached. Her head ached. Breathing actually hurt. But, she didn’t want to say anything, didn’t want to either be fussed over or sent away.
He released her hand and to her surprise, touched her right cheek. A burst of pain had her sucking in a sharp breath and he said, “You’ve a bit of a bruise. Don’t be surprised if you have trouble seeing out of that eye come morning. It’s already starting to swell.”
“Wonderful.” She jerked her head to the side and made to step around him. “I need to get back before anyone sees this and begins to wonder.”
His hand fell back to his side. “Of course.”
She moved around him and followed the path back to their campsite as fast as she could limp. Her knee ached with each step, although she tried to ignore it. At least she could still ride, or so she hoped.
“Are you all right, laddie?”
She looked over as Balin fell into step with her, and nodded. “I’m fine, thank you. Just a little sore from being flung about like a rag doll.”
He offered up a sympathetic smile. “Yer good in a fight, ye know. That’s a bit of a relief to those of us who were a bit unsure about ye.”
“Thank you. I think.”
Balin stopped and caught her by the arm. “Ye should take care, where Thorin is concerned.”
“Take care?” She shook her head. “I’m afraid I don’t understand.”
His eyes narrowed slightly. “I know yer not a laddie.”
“Of course I am.”
“Seren,” he reached over to touch her shoulder, “I’ll not say a word. Yer secret is safe with me. But, ye need to take care.”
“I’m sorry to disappoint you,” she said, stepping around him and shaking her head again, “but I’m—“
“I know you are. Seren Gilwynn. Yer mother was Elmaya Gilwynn, the seamstress in Dale.”
Seren’s stomach clenched and her heart stopped beating for a long, painful moment. “How—how did you know?”
“I remember her. We did a healthy trade with the men of Dale.” His eyes softened. “And I remember she had a daughter. A pretty little girl with green eyes and golden hair. And she would be proud to see you now.”
“You cannot tell anyone. Please.”
“Does Thorin know?”
She nodded slowly. “He does. And he has promised to keep my secret. Will you do the same?”
He stared up at her. Unlike Thorin, he was several inches shorter than her, and his silence unnerved her, made her belly churn and her mouth dry. Then, he nodded and said, “I will, lassie. But, why Thorin? How did you find him?”
“It’s a long story that began when I was a child and culminated in my tracking him to just outside Bree. It took some doing to convince him to let me come with you.”
“What are your intentions, where he is concerned?”
“I have none. I only wish to see Dale’s killer destroyed, same as him.”
Balin’s eyes narrowed sharply. “Thorin’s intentions run far deeper than that.”
“Why am I not surprised?”
Footsteps sounded behind them and Thorin said, “Balin, have the others gone on ahead?”
“They have, yes. I was just learning a bit about our young friend here.”
Seren looked up at Thorin, debating whether or not to tell him that Balin knew about her as well, but thought better of it and said, “I should join the others. We have a long journey ahead of us.”
She didn’t wait for any response, but forged ahead, and found the others packing up their belongings once more. As she rolled up her bedding, there came a great crashing sound through the trees and every present body, Thorin and Balin included by then, drew their weapon.
They waited as the sounds grew closer, and then, from the underbrush burst a rickety-looking sled of woven sticks, drawn by a team of… rabbits?
And driven by the oddest looking man Seren had ever seen. He looked like… the forest itself.
Gandalf didn’t seem at all perturbed as he said, “Radagast?”
Seren glanced at the others, who all seemed as confused as she was. They glanced at one another and shrugged and finally, Gandalf said, “Radagast the Brown, from Mirkwood.”
“I bring terrible news,” Radagast said without preamble. “There—”
A snarling howl filled the air, one that made Seren’s blood run cold and every hair on her body stand on end. Bilbo looked in the direction from which it came and said, “Bears?”
“No.” Bofur shook his head. “It’s far worse…”
And with that, three wargs leaped from three different directions. Thorin took out the first. Dwalin the second and the third? They got it together.
“Warg scouts,” Thorin growled, looking up. “Which means an orc pack is not far off.”
Gandalf glared at Thorin. “Who did you tell about this quest aside from your kin?”
“No one!”
“Who did you tell?”
“No one, I swear it!” Thorin shook his head.
“Well, someone is hunting you. I suggest we move. Now!”
Radagast gestured to his sled. “I’ll draw them off and give you a chance to escape.”
“Those are Gundabad wargs,” Gandalf told him, “they will run you down!”
“These are Roscobel rabbits,” came Radagast’s confident reply. “I’d like to see them try.”
And with that, he was off. With a yell, he drew the the rest of the warg pack off and Gandalf shouted, “Run!” and led them in the opposite direction.
Her knee throbbed with each step, but she kept pace with Kili and Fili, who were just behind Thorin, as they bolted across the plains, taking cover behind rocks and along outcroppings. Ori nearly overshot one, only to have Thorin grab him and drag him back.
They all flattened themselves along the rocks, and Thorin turned his head toward Kili, gesturing with his eyes toward’s Kili’s bow and arrow, and then nodded. Kili nodded back, carefully pulling an arrow from his quiver, loading his bow, and then—
He leaped away from the rocks and fired, taking out the orc on the outcropping above them.
With that, the orcs were alerted to their presence and the battle was on. Seren jerked her sword clear as they all scattered across the seemingly endless plains. She ducked as an orc rode by and swung an axe in her direction. Ducked and rolled out of harm’s way, and sprang to her feet once more. As he came back around, she whipped out one of her knives and fired, hitting the warg clean through the eye. As the orc sailed over its head, she jerked her knife free and hastily wiped it to return to its sleeve.
The orc came up swinging, but she was ready and in one mighty swoop, took his head clean off. Then, she sprinted across to rejoin the group once more. Each time, Gandalf took off, they followed, and working as a team, they in turn took out warg after warg and orc after orc until finally, there were simply too many orcs.
“Run!” Gandalf shouted, gesturing to a opening between two rocks. “Go!”
Thorin leapt up onto the tallest of the boulders. “Go! Kili! Fili! Seren! Get down!”
From the middle of the field, Fili hollered, “We’re surrounded!”
Thorin’s blade glinted in the sunlight as he slid it free and gestured for his nephews to jump into the opening. “Where is Seren?”
Kili spun about. “There!”
Seren was slowing down. Her knee just hurt too much for any real speed. She stumbled, hitting the ground on her hands and knees, which set fresh bolts of pain tearing through her. Kili doubled back, firing arrow after arrow, and reached down to grab her about the waist.
But, she still hadn’t bound herself and jerked away from him as his hand splayed along her ribs. “Go! Don’t worry about me!”
“Get up!” He tried to grab her again.
She dove away from him, rolling onto her back as an orc launched himself at her. She brought her blade straight up, gagging as he landed smack on it and orc innards and blood spattered in every direction. He slid all the way to the hilt, his ugly face inches from hers and it was all she could do to keep from vomiting at the sight.
A shadow fell over her. Thorin. He crouched to grab her under the arms and dragged her out from beneath the dead orc. She wrapped her hands about her sword’s handle, gagging again as it ground against the orc’s bones before slipping free.
“Run!” Thorin’s bellow echoed inside her skull and he kept an arm about her waist, practically dragging her behind him as he bolted. She tried to keep up, but her right knee simply refused to support her and as they reached Gandalf, she broke free of him and threw herself into the hole.
She hit the ground with a bone-shattering thud, her eyes closing as she bounced against this rock and that, before slamming face down and simply rolled the rest of the way down, limp as a rag doll as blackness swallowed her whole.

i am dying to know more about dis baggins
Oh gosh thank you so much anon 😍😍😍 I’ve honestly been dying to gush about her so again, THANK YOU SO MUCH!
So first things first her father is Fili Oakenshield. Her mother is my other oc Marigold Baggins, the human adoptive sibling of Bilbo Baggins. Her parents had met, fell in love on their journey to reclaim the Lonely Mountain in the events of The Hobbit.
After the death of Fili, Marigold ended up finding out that she was pregnant on the journey back home. Not wanting to live in the Lonely Mountain without him and fearing the Durin's line curse that ultimately took the lives of some of her most precious dwarves Marigold thought it would be safer if it was best to keep her a secret and only a few selected trustworthy people should know the truth.
In Hobbiton, her mother Marigold was already considered a black sheep because she was a human, returning from an adventure was scandalous enough but, also returning with a newborn baby was Practically shunned from half of Hobbiton. And Dis was not sparred from that shame, unfortunately.
Even though Dis was part human-like her mother, she is also a Dwarf. Marigold wanted her to also experience the customs of her father, knowing how important it was for Dis to learn. So, she sent a letter to Balin and Ori who willingly and secretly wrote scrolls for Marigold to learn about and teach her daughter.
Marigold even had gotten Dwalin to visit her in Hobbiton for a few months to teach Dis how to fight. He also spoiled her terribly, making her a beloved sword she would carry with her all the way into her own battles in the events of Lord of the Rings.
When she was a little girl, Dis always enjoyed her Uncle Bilbo's tale about his adventure with the company, but what her favorite story was the one she always made her mom tell her before bed was about the Prince and the lonely maiden's adventures. Dis didn't know this until she was a little bit older, but it was the adventures of her mom and dad falling in love.
Her mom died when she was young, Marigold was 72 years old, but being half-dwarf Dis aged differently so in dwarf years it was young to her.
Uncle Bilbo then continued to raise her & even her cousin Frodo, who was really a brother to her and called him such.
Sam Gamgee is like a brother to her as well, she would even call him her dearest friend because Dis grew up close to him and his family growing up.
Her very best friends are Merry Brandybuck & Pippin Took, so she ends up causing mischief a lot in Hobbiton.
At the end events of the fellowship, Dis would end up being separated from all her dearest friends and brother from Hobbiton. Worry & dread filled her heart, but she would also end up with three new companions that she would cherish to the end.
One companion, in particular, an elf, Dis would end up falling for and the two would be bonded and married not long after surviving the war.
Honestly, I could go on more, but I'll stop now lol.
