INTRO POST
This is an ask blog for an indulgent AU called the Nth Dimensional Interdimensional Starbucks au. Also just called the Interdimensional Starbucks au.
The Interdimensional Starbucks is a sub-space created within the monolith that orbited the planets. It features David Bowman as a 24/7 Starbucks barista who doesn't get paid, and HAL 9000, the sentient coffee machine and David's companion (lover??). Everything went smoothly at first, until Frank Poole showed up. All hell broke loose as more and more AIs from different realities showed up to take a spot in the singular Starbucks. David Bowman copes (see: tries to) with the influx of ridiculous orders from ridiculous characters. Hal provides commentary of varying degrees of helpfulness. Frank's here too. Hijinks ensue.
Literally every AI you can think of, and some extra people to boot.

Sketch WIP - Observation
This is the station Observation from the video game of the same name. You play as a station AI and work with a crew member to figure out what happened after catastrophe strikes. As someone who loves space, machines, and will gladly read every piece of text in a game, this really fits my niche. I especially like how detailed the model of the station is in the game - my sketch doesn't do it justice.
Here's the sketch with the visible modules labeled:
I plan to work on this some more later when I have more time.

So, common misconception (both in fandom and in-universe) about Spider-Man/Peter Parker is that he's naive.
Spidey's young for a hero, he's a wise cracker with a no-kill policy, he's a ray of sunshine - he must just not know, right? He grabs purse-snatchers, he never sees the really evil crimes like human trafficking and stuff. If he knew how evil and horrible humans could really be, surely he'd be a depressed nihilistic bastard like me.
Except he does know. Spider-Man has seen and dealt with those horrible crimes, the ones the tourists and newspapers don't see. In the Marvel universe, NYC is a hub of mutant/alien/monster/interdimensional activity - of course he's seen the worst of the worst, been to literal hell, all while he carries the weight of everyone he's failed and everything he's lost.
Spider-Man is not naive, he's optimistic.
That's one of his superpowers. He knows exactly how bad humans can be, and he believes in them anyway.
And 95% of the time, he's correct. He's not blind to the fact that irredeemable evil exists, he's just aware of the fact that most of humanity is not that. Messy and complicated, sure -- but not evil.
So when he does face actual evil, he's not a naive, toothless, "we can all be friends, even war criminals!" Steven Universe hero -- he's an angry, stubborn as shit "If I give up, despair wins, and I'll be damned if I let you win" weaponized sunshine hero.
...he's also hilarious and I love him.

if i had a nickel for every time there was an astronaut in a piece of media that went to a gas giant, had their entire crew killed, and through the intervention of a mysterious black shape ended up being fused with their constant companion, a sentient ai with a monotone voice that clearly has human emotions, i would have two nickels, which isnt a lot but its REALLY weird that it happened twice

I love how our first shot of Carmen (in the show, at least) is of her walking onto a roof and the final shot is of her walking off the roof (I assume) as her theme plays in the background. Something something feeling like a drawing of the curtains and her entering and her entering and leaving just as we knew her, as the Crimson Shadow.

[[ Well damn: The Sequel.
I wanted to bring this back to y'all's attention. Duck. Is. Strong. Not sure if it's the suit or the meteor did something but here he is ripping off a panel from a missile THAT TECH MADE. So you know this isn't flimsy material.
Also
He did this with one arm.
and he didn't even notice he threw Slam off the roof. ]]
