We need two more volunteers for our bats in Cuba program. Without our volunteers these programs can't run. Without these population surveys we don't know all the species that live in the national parks. Without comprehensive knowledge of the species in these parks, the parks are at risk for development. Many of the bats are endemic to Cuba- they are found no where else on the planet so the protection of their homes is critical to their survival on Earth. OAVT Conference 2015 is a wrap!

I had a fantastic time at the 2015 Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians conference in Niagara Falls. I met so many people and learned a lot. I got to share my passion for RVTs in research. I ate lots of food, and we all know how much us RVTs love food!

Seriously though, I am honored and humbled to be elected to the Board of Directors of my professional organization. I am looking forward to the opportunity to represent RVTs in research on the board. The OAVT has done so much for RVTs in the last year, and I think this year will be even better.

Love cats? Our dog centres are really just domestic animal centres so you volunteer with dogs and cats! In Kenya specifically you can spend all your time volunteering in the cateries. That's right, homeless and abandoned kitties get their very own lovely areas.
