helloooooo :)) sliding in with a generic marvel-esque vaguely criminal organization landoscar au with background lestappen because I am nothing if not predictable
Oscar is their resident poison specialist (he makes new poisons, tests them, makes antidotes, etc. for the organization to use). His preference is plant based poisons, like belladonna and nightshade, because he graduated college with a botany degree and therefore has a lot of knowledge about them that he can put for use. He spends most of his time in his greenhouse full of toxic, beautiful plants that he tends too very, very carefully. They’re his babies.
There’s a whole backstory involved with how he came to join the organization that involves him accidentally killing his college roommate
Lando is a former gymnast turned espionage guy who also does theft on the side for funsies that works for the organization. Like vaguely cat woman-y? Obviously he’s super flexible and super good at his job because duh.
His favorite hobby is breaking into Oscar’s greenhouse via the windows and watching him work. Oscar is super fascinating to him, and he’s enamored with how absolutely brilliant this quiet, stoic boy, with maybe five facial expressions total is.
Lando sits there and listens to Oscar ramble about his complex science things. He doesn’t understand most of it ngl, but he loves the way Oscar’s face lights up when he goes on a long tangent about the chemical properties of cyanide and why it’s superior to arsenic.
Also sometimes lando brings Oscar random pretty shiny things that he stole that he thinks Oscar might like and leaves them on his desk, kind of like a crow. Oscar keeps all of them in a box under his bed. He looks at them when he feels down (he doesn’t tell lando that)
Oscar is equally obsessed with lando but this is already wayyyyyy too long so 😭 you just gotta trust me on this one
And then eventually, the rest of the people in the organization pick up on the growing landoscar feelings situation. Alex and George give lando a bunch of (loving and caring) grief about it. A bet between them is born. “$50 lando is too chicken to confess to Oscar by the end of the month”
Yada yada time skip a week or so and lando and Oscar FINALLY do something about the tension between them one night late in Oscar’s greenhouse, lando freshly back from a mission. Boom they kiss and then lando, being the idiot that he is, as soon as they pull apart, goes “lol George and Alex owe me $50 now”
Cue misunderstanding trope. “Oh you only kissed me for a bet?? You don’t actually have feelings for me 😔 I knew it was too good to be true.”
Lando realizes his mistake but Oscar’s already out the door, disappeared into the night.
And then Oscar gets kidnapped by the enemy 🤗 because he’d normally be more aware and vigilant and stuff but his emotions are really going through it so. The ransom note comes through the next day.
Gonna leave it on that because otherwise I will spiral into a full blown fic when I already have too many wips to finish

Hi anon, and welcome to the unhinged world of Lestappen lore! We're so happy to have you. ❤️
Now have a seat and get cozy, because it's story time.
Charles made it into F1 in 2018 and after spending his maiden season at Alfa Romeo Sauber, his life-long dream finally came true as he was snatched up by Scuderia Ferrari to replace the man, the myth, the legend that is Kimi Räikkönen. Needless to say, 2019 was a big year for Charles. His first season in the team he had always dreamed of driving for. He was ready. He was hungry.
Now, enter Max Emilian Verstappen, who at this point had already been in F1 since 2015, when he was signed at the ripe age of 17. Already a seasoned F1 driver, which is impressive as fuck at that age. At this point, Max and Charles were following each other on social media. After all, they'd known each other for most of their lives, had grown up together in karting, and were now competing at the top level.
Today, we know Austria as the Lestappen holy ground following that podium in 2022. (Borderline pornographic podium celebration? Don't mind if I do.) But, it had potential to become the Lestappen holy ground even back in 2019, because Max and Charles were on fire. Talking, laughing, joking, mirroring each other in the pre-race press conference, and generally acting like teenagers with a crush. (As you do with your emotional support rival.) Things were good. Great, even.
And then Sunday rolled around, and the race happened. Charles and Max were doing what they do best and what they love the most, namely fighting each other on track, likely having the time of their fucking lives. But then this overtake happened, there's a little bit of contact and Charles briefly ends up off the track, and Max goes on to win the race, with Charles finishing P2. (Anyone else hearing "He's just unfair. I'm leading, he wants to pass, he push me, I push him back" and "Nothing, just an inchident"? in their heads watching that overtake? Just me? Okay.)
Charles was pissed, absolutely convinced that Max had done something wrong, that it wasn't a clean move, and the move was investigated, as all similar moves are. FIA, however, ends up deeming it a clean move and Max doesn't get a penalty, meaning his win stands. And, well, this is where Charles Leclerc shows the world what it means to truly be ✨dramatic.✨ (We love a dramatic king in this house, ngl. Nothing is more entertaining to me than grown-ass men acting like children.)
A look that could kill? Check. Dramatically fixing your cap? Check. Looking away dramatically while plotting someone else's demise? Check. Looking like finishing P2 is not a huge accomplishment in your first season in Scuderia Ferrari? Check. Squeezing past as the winner getting drenched in champagne because you're not about to stand there and watch him celebrate? Check. Whatever the fuck this face is? Check.
Now, here's where it gets really fucking hilarious: Charles and Max fly home from Austria on the same flight. On this flight, where Max is probably sitting in Charles' direct line of sight, Charles goes to Max's Instagram and unfollows him. Probably glaring at Max the entire fucking time. Because he's a fully grown adult man capable of making reasonable, mature decisions when things don't go his way. Clearly. And Max, upon noticing this (or his team noticing it), remembers that he is also a fully grown adult man capable of making reasonable, mature decisions, and responds by unfollowing Charles back. Obviously.
It has been four years and our boys have clearly moved past the events of Austria 2019, but the Great Unfollowing has remained. Has it become an inside joke between them, which is why they're still not following each other after all these years? Probably, if Charles threatening to unfollow Matt from P1 with Matt & Tommy during a Ferrari challenge (and fucking following through on the threat, too) is anything to go by. Does it still make me cackle every time I think about it? Abso-fucking-lutely.

Charles is lying on the chaise longue in his hotel room. It’s a strangely nice hotel room for a Formula 2 driver. He’s not sure if he’s allowed to have it. Should he think about the money Ferrari is spending on him? A newly nineteen-year-old rookie, a hot shot. He’s always smug but polite about his plans for the future, Formula 1, Ferrari, the red car, a championship with them, my dream, my peers’ dream, but tonight he would like to kick his ribs and hiss to shut up at his stupid face.
He’s nothing, he feels like nothing. An empty promise made of empty trophies who feel like he knows everything at eighteen.
The question is if the blue circles under his bags will be cute and haunted for long. He doesn’t feel like shit tonight, a smear of lipstick on the side of one’s mouth. A failed attempt. The trace of something that will never be.
He’s not sure if it’s the amount of vodka and red bull he had at the club, or his heavy crying eyes speaking for himself, but he sees someone sitting on his bed.
“Max?” He croaks out, intoxicated.
“You’re so stupid.” The man says, and his voice is so stupidly familiar.
“I don’t understand…” Charles slurs.
“I’m you, you idiot… You should stop with vodka Red Bulls, it’s bad for the brand and your body. Andrea will kick your ass if he finds out…” His older self mumbles. He looks older, but just slightly, he’s bulkier, less Victorianesque, with a faint stubble on his face. He looks healed but not so much.
“How old are you?” Charles asks, nearly slipping and falling off his chair.
“Twenty-two.” Older-Charles answers.
“Does it get better? Do I get him?” Charles asks, trying to pull himself together.
Older Charles knows exactly what he means by that. Does he still think I’m just this shiny new thing everyone raves about? Have I lost my sparkle to his eyes? Are we okay finally?
“He’ll push you out of the track and he’ll steal your first win with Ferrari.” Older Charles states simply.
“So he’ll be back at loving me?” Charles asks, hopeful, his mouth open.
“He won’t. He meant it, tonight. But he’s not mean… It’s- complicated. But you should forget him. He won’t touch your skin anymore. It’s fire to his fingertips and it will burn him down. Forget him and grow up…” He says, flattening his lips on a tight line.
“Why are you so mean to me?” Charles asks, feeling tears flowing out of his eyes again, voice wobbly and broken.
“You need to grow up, Charles, we don’t know anything, we look exactly like we’ve been through it. Patch yourself up together. That should be your end goal, you need to do something I couldn’t do. Stop feeling like you’re nothing. We have to stop ourselves from crying ourselves to sleep, and stop drinking…” Older Charles tells him.
Charles sighs and nods, cleaning the snot and the tears on his face with the cuff of his ruined shirt. He sits back on the chaise longue and sniffles a bit. He closes his eyes, trying to make the voice in his head stop. He should stop trying to boycott himself by drinking until he can’t feel a thing and use energy drinks to be aware and feel all the pain nonetheless. He should stop torturing himself.
“Goodnight, Charles…” Older Charles mumbles as Charles tries to fall asleep.
He feels a kiss on his forehead, before drifting off in a dreamless sleep.
“It will get better, just hold on…” Another Charles whispers. He’s older than the other, his stubble is more present, like the lines under his eyes.
“You still won’t know anything by the time you’re twenty-six, but it will be better…” He mumbles, before sitting on the bed and lying down too, dreaming of blue eyes and soft lips.

pls, Maxiel and Pierls stans are so pressed over Lestappen stans and for what? Don’t get me wrong, I respect every ship and personally adore Maxiel but the hate Lestappen stans gets sometimes is so annoying? Like I dare you we just have fun nothing too serious???? And then they pull all these “Charles definitely hates Max he just polite”/“Max an asshole he would kill Charles if it’s takes a win” when it’s clearly isn’t. The only thing we discuss-Charles and Max as two talented individuals and pairing, nothing more, not girlfriends, kids, dogs etc🤭. P.S. I love your new fic 💗
I'm not going to point a finger at Maxiel and Piarles stans because I love them to bits and it's unfair to do that. A grand majority of them (like a grand majority of Lestappen stans) just want to hang out, vibe, and shitpost about their faves like us.
Problem is, a vocal minority can sometimes ruin it for all of us (there are some toxic Lestappen stans on here too, I've seen you in the tags and some of you have been in my inbox and to be honest it pisses me off). A bit of ribbing along the lines of "Lestappen is joever now that Daniel is back on grid" or "Charles saw us slipping with the new Maxiel content and went not on my watch" is great, its fun, it's lighthearted, like when siblings poke fun at each other! But I have seen some genuinely nasty takes out there (and in my inbox) which just confuses me. At the end of the day, we all watch the same sport with the same 20-ish personalities and there's no reason for us to get nasty with each other.
Lestappen hate is much worse and widespread on twitter, I'm not really sure why. That's why I tend to hang out here a lot more. I have been pqrted to death on twitter just for being a little delusional about Lestappen. I think people think we're serious when we say Lestappen wanna kiss so bad and don't think that we might just be delusional/having a bit of fun with it.

I hope everyone is doing well and staying hydrated!
I am taking a much needed vacation as of tomorrow morning until the end of the month. (I AM FREE AT LAST!!!!!) I probably won't write very much while I'm there.
BUT HERE'S THE GOOD NEWS:
I have a quick little Lestappen PWP in the works for you! I've finished writing it; it just needs to be edited. I think you are going to enjoy it.

I've started working on a longer plotty fic again!
But it's going to be a different pairing this time around. I hope that's okay with you all. I know many of you are only here for Lestappen, and that's okay! I love Lestappen, and I'm not done writing for them by any means. I have lots of fic ideas and WIPS for them. They're my fav ship to write for. I have just owed @takenquicklys a Maxiel fic for a while now... 😂
I'll still be lurking around these streets while on vacation, bothering you all, and posting cursed content. I'm not planning on disappearing. I'm just not going to force myself to write (for once). If it happens, it happens, but I'm not planning on writing until I get home.
ANYWAY... my plotty Maxiel fic will probably take a few weeks to write, but in the meantime, here's a little snippet for you. I hope you'll enjoy it, even if you're only here for Lestappen! This fic is a little angstier than I normally write... but it will still have lots of Fabby Fluff.

When Daniel decided to leave Red Bull in 2018, Max was... confused. He wasn’t hurt, necessarily, but it was hard not to take it a little bit personally. Because nobody leaves Red Bull Racing to go to a mid-field team.
It had to be at least a little bit personal.
Their last season together got a little rough around the edges. After being teammates for so many years, they were bound to come together on track every now and then. It was nowhere near the battle of the silver arrows back in 2016, but every time they came together in 2018 seemed to be worse than the time before.
They could usually move past it.
They would ignore each other for a day to cool off, and then they’d pretend like nothing ever happened.
It was good.
It was working.
But some incidents were harder to move past than others.
(Well done, Baku.)
After Daniel left, things got better. They were able to just be friends again and not worry about being teammates. Max became the veteran of his team and saw new teammates come and go, and Daniel had great results for Renault.
Everything was going great for both of them.
But then McLaren happened.
McLaren took a lot from both of them.
For Daniel, it took away his pride. It took away his confidence. It turned this tall, cocky, king of the late-breaking man into a too-small, too-skinny, twitchy-on-the-break-pedal kind of guy. It was hard to watch at times.
To make matters worse for him, everyone compared him to Lando. Which wasn’t fair because Lando had been with McLaren for years. Lando already knew how to get the most out of that shit-box of a car. Daniel still had to learn.
For Max, it was hard to watch his best friend hit rock bottom. Especially because Max was having such a great year in comparison. He was leading the championship for the first time. He was winning every weekend, his race suit was always damp with champagne, and he was confident that he would become World Champion at the end of the year.
2021 was the best and worst year of his life.
He won the championship, but he lost his best friend.
Fucking McLaren.

-dany's "please tell me he's okay" always GETS me bc i know dany's the car he crashed with and it was 100% a racing incident but i cannot imagine the guilt he was feeling in the moment. i'm so fond of him he definitely deserved better by the red bull machine
-gunther talking about how fire is the worst thing you can have in a crash--and thinking about how guanyu said his biggest fear in his silverstone crash was the car catching fire. we're really lucky that his car didnt honestly

I have this lestappen prompt in my head that I can’t stop thinking about, but I can’t write so I’m going to leave the premise here and if any other anons want to add on their thoughts it would be welcome :)
Basically, Charles doesn’t met Nicolas Todt and therefore cannot continue climbing the racing ladder up to Formula 1. Meanwhile Max continues as in real life. Charles decides if he can’t be a driver, he still wants to be involved in F1 somehow. He ends up working in Ferrari as the youngest race engineer on the grid (he’s Seb’s race engineer <3).
When Max hears that Ferrari replaced Seb’s old race engineer in the middle of the season with immediate effect, he couldn’t care less, after all what does that have to do with him?, although he’s happy for Seb because his old race engineer so was incompetent. But then he hears chatter in his side of the RBR garage about how Seb’s new race engineer beat a lot of current drivers in karting like George, Alex, Pierre, and Esteban, so maybe Ferrari will be more of a competitor this year. Max is intrigued by this, so he asks who Ferrari hired, and when the mechanics say the name Charles Leclerc, Max CANNOT believe his ears. That annoying French (“I’M NOT FRENCH!”) kid that always pushed him off the track during karting races is Ferrari’s new race engineer? The one kid who could handle him, his one true equal, is working for Ferrari, for SEB?? And not for HIM??
And then the rest of the fic is Max doing everything he can to get Charles to join RBR and be his race engineer instead (don’t worry, GP is doing his thing as a different high ranking role, I could never get rid of him completely!). Max goes out of his way to be in the Ferrari’s way and make Charles’ life more difficult during races to get his attention (Max already has the championship on lock anyways, so if he slows down a bit.. or a lot… to be in Seb’s way, who cares?). Max begs Christian and he begs Helmut to give Charles an offer, to make sure to pay him better than Ferrari. He even makes sure to include free spa trips (to erase the stress Ferrari caused him) on the proposal he gives to Christian and Helmut. Just a lot of shenanigans lol.
Part 2:
Oh and I forgot to mention this! If Seb wins a race, you know how teams send an employee as a representative on the podium? So it’s the 3 podium sitters and the winning team’s representative? If Seb wins, Ferrari sends Charles up as their representative and Max literally SPRINTS across the podium to stand next to Charles so he can hold his waist for the photo <3 He’s been having withdraws, he hasn’t been able to touch Charles waist in this universe since like 2013, okay?
And while I’m adding on to this, I can imagine Max peacocking SOO HARD in front of Charles whenever he wins (which is often lol). He just wants to impress the same boy he wanted to impress a decade ago. Max is nothing if not dedicated!

Anon, words cannot express how much I love this idea. Race engineer Charles and Max doing his damnedest to court him to leave Ferrari in favor of Red Bull. Max turning into an absolute menace to get what he wants, and stopping at nothing to get it.
Honestly, the mental image of Max peacocking after a race win is giving me secondhand embarrassment and I am so here for it.
