like idk I try not to be too bothered by it but it is genuinely upsetting seeing my side of the state go up in flames every year now. maybe I was just too young to remember but I feel like it's been getting so much worse in recent years and 2020 was the first time in a long, long time there had ever ever been a fire that came even remotely close to burning our house down
Im SO slow with the update, I haven't actually poked at the secrets yet but I am LOSING MY MARBLES OVER WALLY SINGING AND SPECIFICALLY HIS SONG TOYLAND
People who think Palestinians wanting equal rights to live on their own land equates to wanting to genocide Jewish people are actually telling on themselves
trying not to think about how barry joined blessed wellness retreat, which is absolutely the cult run by chester bless, who has to be aware that barry was involved with the awe at bright falls, and definitely has terrible future plans
yes, i love mde. yes, its my favorite of the mafia trilogy. yes, i can say with 100% conviction that objectively… tommy is not an interesting character. for him to be the protagonist, he sure does have no depth to his character written in the game
Fall of Icarus. Death of Aegeus. Lost of Hylas. Katabasis of Orpheus. Everything about Oedipus, and Antigone and Ismene. Death of Patroclus. Death of Hector. Death of Ajax. Death of Antilochus. Death of Achilles. Cries of Trojan women. Nostos of Odysseus. Odysseus’s love for Penelope. Odysseus’s meeting with Anticlea. Telemachy.
I’VE BEEN SHEDDING TOO MANY TEARS FOR THIS TRAGIC MYTHOS RECENTLY.
(Oh half of my tags aren’t showing cuz I’ve run out of them.)
it's sound weird, but i have headcanon that Hunter didn't go hexside, because he too old to shool(according to my feelings, at the end of the he is 16-17 y.o (except for the post-credits scene), and at that age it is already too late to go to school):p
i mean, well- in my opinion he rather certainly did go to hexside, since one of the things he'd said during his TTT monologue was "i'd like to attend hexside like a normal student and play flyer derby with my friends" and all of his "wishes" were supposed to sort of foreshadow his goals and his future (carving palismen, studying wild magic, etc etc) so i feel like it's safe to say he succeeded in becoming a hexside student as well. we also know he attended grom with the rest of his friend group, and like- since he's 16 before the timeskip (no canon certainty whether he's recently turned 16 or is going on 17 already though, but like... around 16 canonically) that means he'd get at least 1 year of school, but most likely 2+.
my personal headcanon is that he went to hexside for around 2 years (full or not quite, depending on when the school year starts in the boiling isles and how long it lasts; possibly even 3), and during that time he picked up a mentorship/apprenticeship at del's palisman carving shop, and after he graduated from hexside he started carving palismen professionally with the clawthornes (i like to think that he also takes some courses at eda's wild magic university in his spare time, simply cuz . funny uni hexsquad shenanigans)
Since we’re on the topicSubaru’s life is such a wild rollecoaster:
Almost died at birth due to small hole in heart
Had to stay in hospital first 3-5 years of life due to this
At constant risk of sudden death if she over-exerted herself
Eventually released from hospital
At some point got hit by a car
Back to the hospital for a few months cause of this
She has now been to the hospital so much she finds them hilarious
Went on a high school exchange program to Canada
Found out that between the time of choosing her host family and arrival in the Country, her host mother had since divorced and gotten into a new relationship
Back to Japan after high school
House burns down
Took a bunch of odd jobs to support parents cause house burnt down
Applied as a Vtuber at Hololive
Had very little qualifications for the position, or really any understanding of what it was
Got the job anyway cause they liked her spunk
Broke generally accepted conduct in your first week by collabing with a guy Vtuber from a different organization
Inadvertently convinced said Vtuber not to quit cause the collab convinced him that there was still fun to be had in Vtubing
Get bullied by a bunch of nerds for not being a nerd
Become a general fan and internal company favourite Vtuber
I assume part of 15's narrative is going to revolve around the post-identity crisis that arose within 14 around the timeless child arc, and possibly some kind of search to discover their origins... im fascinated by this coming up in 15's arc, in the sense that it makes it seem like 14 was perfectly happy to park those questions and just have a nice time doing self-care for x amount of years, so all of these feelings were lying dormant because 14 didn't feel the need to know, and then perhaps resurfacing now as 15 is (re)building a (new?) sense of self and isn't so goshdarn tired of things. is this the first time the question on doctor who has genuinely revolved around the "who" part for the doctor as well as for the characters they meet? (no shush the stupid "doctor's name" business doesn't count, that wasn't about identity, that was m*ffat's weird penchant for randomly inserted destiny that never really went anywhere)
it's a bit angsty yes, but it's also very invigorating that part of the source of travelling is this genuine mystery after a nice long rest, and not bone-weary exhaustion and regret at the past. it's inherited from previous who, but it's got a lot of potential to go anywhere
Massive fan of the idea that, after all that stuff with Phyrexia, the overarching plot of the next few sets is going to be Kellan's quest to get Oko to pay child support.
this is... interesting. If I'm not mistaken, the list of people banned from the waning moon is supposed to be a bunch of devs, but gerringothe thorm obviously isn't one, and the "unknown elf" sounds far too much like astarion to not be him.
if you have a companion interact with the magic mirror, they have unique wishes they can share. the first wish always seems to be their deepest desire, past all the fear, pride, anger, regret, etc. that they may feel. wyll's, for example, is wishing to see his father extending his arms in forgiveness to him (wyll. pleeease pleaase pleease your dad was the one who was wrong T____T).
astarion wishes to see his home. his real home. after reading this line, I was reminded of the note in the waning moon...and well...what if astarion's real home was originally reithwin town? or somewhere nearby it? the timeline checks out, the shadowcurse has been around for about 100 years, according to halsin. astarion's been a spawn for around 200 years...
the only thing I can think of that might contradict this is something mr. stephen rooney (his writer) said in an interview, about not being sure what direction to take astarion's story in act 2. but given that this was said of the astarion made for the 3 act story we know, and that there still exist many remnants of old ideas since reworked in the live game, it's not impossible that the original story might have included something about astarion's real home being the shadowcursed lands.
sad too, because if it is true, it means that it's very likely that his family was lost to the shadowcurse. and his family wouldn't have ever known that they lost their son to the shadows long ago....
I tweaked the Lost Boys Challenge and made a story.
As part of a fucked up experiment, I placed 6 kids (3 girls, 3 boys) and two nameless, anonymous Observer adult sims on a large plot of land in empty Newcrest. Instead of starting from scratch, I used all the money they already had (34000 simoleons), assuming the people running this experiment were funding it, and created a campground-like living space. This space was off-the grid and they had to recycle their trash constantly. I put up tents, chairs, crafting tables and stuff for the kids, insect and bee boxes, and an iconic tree house. So I created a self-sustaining habitat.
1) I realized that child sims are actually more resourceful and smarter than adult sims
2) I didn't meddle with their values, traits and social relationships to let them to be as independent as possible from my intervention
After the kids became teenagers, the Observers committed suicide (lol) because while watching the children, they began to question their mission and became depressed (or maybe the funders took them out, who knows. shady shit). Anyways I built the teens a house (finally) with 50000 simoleons, again assuming that the people running the experiment funded it. Even though the money they earn is only enough for the day to day, they all have part time jobs, hobbies, dreams and their own personalities. And I am proud of them.
3) They also have traumas and many emotional and psychological problems that they developed autonomously (thanks to the realistic mood and mental health mods I have installed), but this was expected
I don’t think Nettles was crying over Jacaerys’ death, was his death part of the reason she cried, yes, but I think it was more about witnessing destruction of her hometown, its populace was butchered and she herself burned hundreds, if not thousands of Triarchy’s soldiers
Yeah, I’m sure she was in part crying because she saw Jace die right in front of her and I’m sure he was kind to her, and they formed a friendship of sorts, but she’d only known him for a couple of weeks. People are leaving out the fact that she just saw the only home she knew go up in flames in addition to Jace dying and she had a hand in the chaos.
Everything around her is happening in fast forward. She just claimed Sheepstealer, she's never seen battle, and now boom she’s a soldier. She’s seen death and deprivation before(she’s homeless so she’s obviously seen a thing or two), but not like this and she’s certainly never participated in the destruction.
Even if they are enemy soldiers and they mercilessly slaughtered everyone she’s ever known, they are still people who have loved ones. They may not even want to be here, some might be even younger than her, and she’s burning them alive.
She can literally hear them screaming for their mothers as they turn to ash before her. Or she sees them jump into the sea only to drown because their bodies are too weak to swim. that weighs heavy on the soul. She was literally covered with the evidence of battle(soot from the fire). Is it any wonder why she would be so distraught?
Take Jace away and you still have a young girl who has already been through so much, but now she's just witnessed and participated in something that would scar even the most battle-hardened of men.
