nah but like
they're "seiros lapdogs" because they're fighting back against the people who attacked them completely unprovoked??? also because it so happens that thales is at garreg mach so they have to go there to reclaim the area to defeat him???
i just hate this because it's just perpetuating things about faerghus and its people that just aren't true. it frames it like they jumped into the war willingly for the church and that they're only here for the church. like nah buddy, it's not faerghus' fault you're out here fighting to protect thales and ludwig.
it also is batshit to me how he and leopold are fighting to stop faerghus from advancing but like... they know what's happening to the empire and that edelgard isn't even calling the shots anymore, yet they still stupidly fight for the very person who is literally razing their country and burning their villages. they know the empire is in shambles and that the kingdom isn't targeting them and is specifically aiming for gm to get it back from who? thales; who, mind, at this point is in his real form and not posing as arundel anymore. everything is laid out plainly, but they still act like faerghus is the bad guy.
but yeah, okay. faerghus BaD for defending themselves, fighting back, finding out who is behind all the puppeteering and heading to take him out. sure, that makes them seiros lapdogs. like what are you, an agarthan mouthpiece??? may as well be like yeah you go retreat and leave you agarthan lapdog. if they don't realize it's Someone Else in charge of course, then ludwig lapdog works fine too.
and it sucks because other than this shit, i like waldemar just fine as a character. it's just like, it feels like they forced someone to have to stick in that final faerghus BaD insult before the grand finale so they just randomly picked someone to remind us that faerghus is Always Wrong as long as they continue to fight back and prevent being attacked in the future.
waldemar here is just basically ag caspar. fighting and risking his life for thales, who is destroying the empire and basically holding the emperor hostage. if the writing here had any decent plot points, they would've all stopped and have been like hey wait, shouldn't we be fighting to get our emperor back? why are we stopping these guys from killing the people who are destroying this country?
and like, they literally went from siding with ludwig during the insurrection to siding with edelgard in this timeline to... jumping immediately back to ludwig as soon as he was at the top of the food chain (thales notwithstanding). as soon as the person in charge changes, they jump ship immediately; then of course get mad that the people they attacked are coming after them... and fighting them as they defend the very people who are letting adrestia become a literal, physical ruin.
it really just tells me that these people don't care about adrestia itself, but status, power and wealth. they don't care about the country itself as long as they're doing well. that's like, the only thing i can get from still fighting with/for ludwig/thales. the fact that they just fight for ludwig again as soon as edelgard is out of commission is also pretty gross to me. they have no loyalty at all.
and it's like, i want to like waldermar and leopold, but they come across as just selfish, entitled and only there for their own asses to be covered. and i get that - that is a realistic take on politicians, but the fact that the game regularly loops back around to faerghus BaD despite that and despite portraying these people as opportunistically selfish is like... what are they even trying to write??
#DCB Three Hopes Run#ah yes. the hours i wait for to post this stuff.#it's like whenever i finally find an adrestian character i like they have them spew some bs like this#or in ferdie's case i loved him and hopes made him another edelgard simp instead of like#the one person around her who contested her views and BLATANTLY OUTRIGHT told her "you're wrong''#but ofc yes edelgardwash him bc that's too extreme in a fodlan game#and in this case with waldemar it's not EVEN edelgard. it's just ''faerghus evil for trying to retake gm''#''we attacked gm and won so it's OURS now the ppl who lived there first don't matter anymore''#''what do you mean it's being held by a threat to all of us? no such thing only you are a threat''#literally like they either killed off the adrestians offscreen or made them stupid as fuck just to have you#fight named characters. like if leopold KNOWS all of this then why is he STILL fighting and acting like it's for adrestia#when his actions in that moment were actively HARMING adrestia?#but yet somehow it like I said loops back to faerghus bad... but yet the writing in general#does portray faerghus as doing the right thing... and then has other characters insist they're bad#and so much so like they're purposely shoving it in your face TO believe it#it's like saying someone helped save a village from destruction and protected all the children in a safe shelter#but a bunch of characters say those ppl are evil and it keeps pressing and pushing that statement OVER and over#like rly what are you trying to write with this? i love ag but the last few chapters are just like#wow how dare you try to kill ludwig the one true future of adrestia who is being puppeteered by thales. like. okay.

do you know where that one theory that duke aegir worked with twsitd in order to create a trophy wife for ferdinand came from? ive seen people state it like it's a fact but it's never made any sense to me
The idea that Edelgard was supposed to be a trophy wife comes from a fairly known Edelstan, though I won't namedrop them here - I'll say that it's the same person who wrote a meta that within it claims that Edelgard is a better representation of anti-racism than Claude is, so, um. Take their meta with a pinch of salt.
Because I've never read the OG meta myself and only know of Cap'n's portrayal of it in The Fic (which, um, doesn't do the logic of the meta any favors, is what I'll say on that lmao), I don't know what OP's logic is. All I know is that it already makes no sense for Ludwig to have wanted any of Ionius' children to be given more power upon being crowned Emperor given that Ionius trying to centralize power onto himself was why the Insurrection happened in the first place, but to then think that Ludwig would think that he could make the surviving child a trophy spouse for Ferdinand to marry is, like. Complete nonsense.
Like, attribute it to shitty worldbuilding, but the books and characters who say that House Aegir has the "real" ruling power of Adrestia are completely disproven by Edelgard immediately arresting Ludwig and stripping House Aegir of all power, lands, and wealth. And with Ludwig immediately bowing to Edelgard's authority as Emperor, it's clear that he doesn't think House Aegir has the "true ruling power" of Adrestia - if he did, he would have shown some resistance to the idea of following Edelgard's orders (not just confusion at her being coronated itself).
Even if Ludwig was "ruling" Adrestia through sick weakly Ionius, there's no reason he would have to think that he could do the same to the perfectly healthy, perfectly sound-of-mind Hresvelg child that, according to this meta, HE had made even more powerful by giving them another Crest. And oh yeah also the child fucking hates the shit out of him and he made no efforts whatsoever to try to mitigate that hatred that the child would obviously have for him - no manipulation, no brainwashing, no blackmail, no threat of force, no coercion, nothing. So what the hell did he think was gonna happen, if this meta was accurate?
So yeah, it doesn't make any sense to you because it just doesn't make any sense period lmao

Here is my contribution for today's prompt for @fe-oc-week! Oct 10 - Relationships.
Today I have provided some material about some key figures in my fe3h OC Kitt's past and present. :3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Click the read more for the lore! (contains mentions of blood, injury, death, body horror)
Kitt Burgess, Ward of the Church - Part II A few years before 1180, the Church of Seiros was alerted to suspicious activity in the Oghma Mountains. When Seteth and Flayn arrived at the village of Annwen to investigate, they discovered a burning ruin filled with its former inhabitants, either lying dead or transformed into rampaging Demonic Beasts. It was there that Kitt, the sole survivor of the disaster, was discovered in a death-like state with a damaged Crest Stone embedded in the back of their neck.
Sensing signs of life, Flayn attempted to heal Kitt, but was unable to stabilize the corrupting influence of the Crest Stone. Seeing that the convulsing Kitt was in danger of transforming into a Demonic Beast, Flayn begged Seteth to intervene. Together, they enacted a ritual sanctioned by the Archbishop Rhea and performed a heavy transfusion of blood. This miraculously succeeded in halting the transformation - if only for the time being.
Kitt was brought to Garreg Mach Monastery, where they spent a year in recovery adjusting to the blood in their veins and beginning a new life under the watchful eye of the Church. Though the transfusion was enough to save their life, it was not enough to fully neutralize the danger posed by the Crest Stone, nor are they yet visibly able to manifest the necessary Crest. As such, they are subject to violent attacks and transformations on occasion. The ordeal also seems to have affected their memories. They struggle to recall key events and figures in their past, and yet the memories they are able to recall seem 'impossible', as though they belong to someone else.
For a time, they were cared for by Seteth and Flayn, who welcomed them into the fold as though they were family. However, Kitt eventually grew suspicious of Seteth, Flayn, and the Archbishop Rhea, sensing that there was more behind the calamity at Annwen and the Crest Stone in their neck than the three were willing to disclose. The church's politics and secret-keeping only compounded their suspicion further. As a result, Kitt has ceased to trust their new family and has had a falling out since.
But perhaps the reason behind this quarrel runs deeper below the surface. Perhaps Kitt glimpsed something in the memories imbued by the Crest Stone - some terrible truth that Flayn and Seteth tried to conceal from them. Or perhaps something even more terrible happened to the three of them, such that it was enough for them to sever ties.
It is said that the Archbishop Rhea is unable to look at Kitt directly in the eye. Yet, she is the one who declared Kitt a protected ward of the Church of Seiros, and that their safety and well-being in Garreg Mach was to be ensured without question.

Gwyn, the Unsung Hero - Part I It is said that the warrior Gwyn first appeared at Lake Annwen, deep in the Oghma Mountains, when Nemesis began his bloody campaign to conquer Fodlan. When refugees, deserters, and defectors fled into the mountain wilderness, Gwyn took these people under their wing and declared Annwen a sanctuary upon which none will suffer persecution from the church nor conquest from Nemesis. Over time, a small city was built - one that mirrored the now ruined Zanado, defended alone by Gwyn, who was soon revered as a hero by the people they safeguarded.
The growing settlement and the seemingly inhuman strength of their founder attracted the attention of the Seiros Army. However, Gwyn refused to entreat them until Saint Cichol and Saint Cethleann appealed to the warrior directly. Gwyn at last agreed to offer up their strength in service to Seiros, though only after forcing Saint Cichol to swear that the people of Annwen would be kept safe from all harm and allowed to live their lives in peace. As a show of goodwill, the Saints gifted Gwyn the sacred axe known as Canopus to wield in the oncoming battle.
This was the first - and only - manifestation of the Crest of Gwyn known to history.
Gwyn was instrumental in defending Enbarr against Nemesis and his Elites. Though they emerged from the siege heavily wounded, their actions allowed the Army of Seiros to push back and gain a foothold northward. On the day of the founding of the Adrestian Empire, Gwyn returned the Axe of Canopus to Saint Cichol, intent on leaving for Annwen. When Emperor Wilhelm I asked if Gwyn would accept a reward for defending the capital, the hero responded that they only wished for the people of Annwen to live well and in peace for all their days.
When offered a place among the Saints, they refused. And so, from that point on, they faded away from history. Some say that Gwyn perished shortly from their wounds and was laid to rest. Others say they simply fell into a deep sleep at an unknown location and remains so to this day. Others claim that Gwyn lived the rest of their life in full among the ordinary people of Annwen.
After the Battle of Tailtean, Fodlan was unified, bringing an age of uncertain peace to the land. The population of Annwen soon dwindled as its inhabitants began to leave the remote sanctuary to start their lives anew in Adrestian society. Though the city was soon forgotten over the ages, a dedicated few remained to form a place of pilgrimage dedicated to Gwyn. Living quiet lives away from main society, they continued to honor the hero and safeguard the mysterious stone they had left behind, along with the promise that they would one day return.
The Capricious One - Part I 'Capricious' is the name of the Nabatean whose tale is a blemish upon their people's history.
In ancient times, they wandered the land and walked freely among humans, refusing to be tied to such a place as Zanado where their own kind dwelled.
They harbored a mutual disdain for the other Nabateans, including their own family, but deeply venerated the Goddess Sothis.
They were said to be closely related in blood to the Nabatean known as The Hammer of Judgment, he who would later take up the name Saint Cichol. It is speculated that the two were like siblings. Though they confided in one another, their opposing natures often put them at odds.
Theirs was the Sign of the Mist Dragon.
They were notorious amongst other Nabateans for their tempestuous personality and acting upon a wicked whim, true to their name. Whispers of ancient history suggested that they were capable of both limitless kindness and unimaginable cruelty, of great contempt and greater love, as greedy as they were generous, known to show astonishing mercy and yet hold everlasting grudges.
Though these qualities made them wildly unpredictable, they always heeded the wisdom of the Goddess, and would on occasion show deference to their counterpart - The Hammer of Judgment.
Whenever they took their escapades too far, the Immaculate One would often be called upon to reprimand them, which resulted in a growing tension between the two.
Some said they reveled in causing trouble. Others said they simply saw the world differently, and had only the best of intentions.
Even before the fall of Zanado, to whisper their name was to invite shame and sorrow.
…Not because of the unfathomable deeds they committed, but for the horrific fate they suffered as a result.

Yandere Dimitri Thoughts
War definitely does funny things people, but Dimitri was already a little fucked in the head to begin with. He'd hold onto you as the only thing to keep him sane, the burning need for revenge replaced by an insatiable need for you. Armed with enablement from the lions and active encouragement from Sylvain, it becomes easier and easier for Dimitri to write off Felix's harsh looks of disgust. But he knows better than to interfere with the crown prince of Faergus's only tether to reality. You are sequestered away, as Dimitri insists that you let him keep you safe. Unable to leave the monastery, it's unbearable to sit and count the days while your classmates are at war.
"I've lost so much. I can't lose you too." The light in his eyes have been long gone, replaced with mania and obsession.
You're reduced to the most important lynchpin in Fodlan.

Okay but now we need to see a story of Dimitri and his boys all fretting over the newest addition to the family 😂 i love picturing them all protective over this tiny baby girl who sticks by her mama most of the time
(I am always a supporter of the Fodlan husbands having big families... first Sylvain and now Dima with his little trio!!! ; A ; )
When his firstborn son was brought into the world, he had initially fretted over hurting the baby by accident. Upon holding him the first time when you insisted he try it…he realized all those fears were for nothing.
The first prince was a strong boy, robust even as a newborn baby. His fears were quickly assuaged.
His second son, born a few years alter, was far softer and quieter than his brother, but was still a healthy and happy baby. Dimitri held even less concern over his secondborn, because he had the experience of being a father and knowing how to handle and raise a son, now.
But then came the third baby. A surprise pregnancy, and one that seemed to be different from your first two. It was a harder pregnancy,  and an even more difficult birth. The reason for this became clear in an instant; you had given birth to the first Blaiddyd princess in generations
Dimitri didn’t know what the hells he was supposed to do with this information.
He’d been stationed outside the delivery room, tending to his two young sons while waiting anxiously for news about his wife and third child.
He never anticipated Mercedes telling him that you gave birth to a healthy baby girl.
And when he was allowed into the room to see you and the baby?
He was just utterly flummozxed.
“B-Byleth…” he stuttered despite himself, nearly stumbling on his way to see you.
You cradled a bundle to your chest; a familiar sight he’d seen twice before.
But this time, there was an even warmer and softer smile on your lips. This time, you were cooing over a little girl.
The Princess of Fodlan.
The fact that those words had even crossed through his mind had made his heart erupt into thundering palpitations.
“Come, Dima…come meet your daughter.”
“I-I…” He trailed off when he finally made it to your side, drawing up a chair to the bedside so that he could sit beside you. “I cvan’t believe it. IMercedes…she said it was a girl. Is it truly…..do we have a daughter?”
‘See for yourself,’ You smiled at him, dawing the blankets back from the newborn’s round little face. “This is indeed your daughter. And she’s the most beautiful baby I’ve ever seen.”
Dimitri was at a loss for words. She was so very tiny- were her brothers that size when they were born? He recalled them being pudgier, and still wailing even after their mother held them.
This one…she was snoozing happily, nuzzled into your chest, and she was the cutest, tiniest creature he’d ever laid his eyes on.
“Oh…oh, Beloved…she is so very beautiful…” He gasped, on instinct his hand extended to brush the baby’ scheek.
But quickly he remembered himself and withdrew, a great fear coming over his face.
“Is she too beautiful to touch, my love?” You joked, but he shook his head, expression quite grave.
“I fear…she is far too small, Byleth. What if I harm her by accident?”
“You sound like you did when our firstborn was introduced to you.”
He nodded, the wariness growing. “T-that is because she is so small! Look at her, Byleth! She’s….she’s so much more petite than her brothers were. I-is she not premature/”
“Mercedes told me she’s just a little bit smaller. But both the boys were closed to this size when they were born. Maybe they were a little bit bigger, but-”
“There! You see? She’s far more delicate than them- we must set up her room and update the nursery to be more safe than we ever prepared it previously. We cannot risk her falling to harm with such a tiny frame!”
“Dima, darling, she’s a newborn. She’s going to be fragile no matter what. There’s no reason to treat her any different than the boys; well, aside from her personality. Hopefully she’ll be an easy baby since the delivery was…difficult.”
“Yes…yes, of course.” He nodded, swallowing the lump in his throat. He brought his arm around your shoulders, drawing you to his chest and pressing a kiss to your temple. “I-I was so stunned by the revelation that we have a daughter, I forgot to extend my deepest congratulations to you. You’ve done well, once again. And I am eternally grateful that you came through another delivery.”
“Heh, thank you.” You giggled softly, always amused by his sincerity. He spoke as if you’d completed a mission you could’ve trained for, rather than suffering through a long and hard birth.
“I am so proud of you. Thank you for giving us another beautiful child…and a daughter, no less.” He beamed at you, stroking your hair tenderly. “You never fail to surprise me, even after all these years.”
“Maybe next time I’ll switch it up with twins.”
“Beloved, please,” He laughed nervously, “I do not believe that’s something either of us have control over…nor is it something we should be worrying about when we have a newborn to take care of.”
“Fair enough.” You settled back into the pillows, offering the girl for him to hold. “Do you want to greet your daughter properly?”
“If…if you think it’s all right.” He replied carefully, going rigid when the little bundle was passed into his hands.
She was so tiny, she didn’t even fit in space from the crook of his arm to his wrist.
And his heart was filled with love, overwhelmed with the thought that this delicate, beautiful little girl was his daughter. Her tiny breaths were so sweet, cradled close to her father’s chest.
Dimitri was fighting the desire to cry right there- now was no time to cry. Certainly not while he had two young princes waiting to see their mother.
“Should I fetch the boys? I know they were waiting to see their mother. But if you’d rather enjoy the peace and quiet a little while longer, we don’t have to.”
“No, I think that’s a great idea. I’m sure they’ll be just as surprised to meet their new sister.”
Dimitri nodded, carefully returning the newborn to your arms.
He wasted no tie getting to the doors, informing the nursemaids that the young princes could join them. They needed to meet their new little sibling, after all.
The pair scampered in, eyes sparkling with excitement. Dimitri watched after them when they hurried past, all but racing to their mother’s bedside.
“Mama! You did it!”
“Can we see him? Can I hold him?”
“Certainly, “You chuckled, shifting so that the boys could see the bundle in your ahnds. “MikhaelMikhail, Eisner…meet your new baby sister.”
The boys gasped, eyes wide in shock when they realized that pudgy, pink little thing you were holding wasn’t a new brother at all- but it was their sister.
“Mama…Mama!!!”
“Yes, Eisner?”
Your youngest son gulped, jabbing a finger at his sister’s round face. “She’s a girl!!!”
Dimitri and you both laughed.
“Yes, she is, my love.” You tousled his hair, “Isn’t she cute?”
“She’s real pink,” Mikhail observed, “Is she supposed to be that pink?”
“You and your little brother looked the very same when you were born, you know. Perhaps even rosier.” Dimitri replied, beaming at his adorable sons who were currently obsessing over their sister.
“Were we that tiny, too?” Eisner piped up again, putting a testing hand on the blankets she snoozed in.
“She’s actually a little bit smaller than you two were. She’s the littlest of the three of you, from what I recall.”
“Which means you’ll need to take special care of your sister to make sure she grows up big and strong, like you two.”
“How do we do that, Papa?” Mikhail asked, wriggling his way onto the bed so he could also put a curious hand on the little girl.
“Well, for starters, you can help your mother by holding the baby when she needs to rest. You can play with her, and read to her…and when she’s ready for a bottle, you can also make sure she gets fed.”
“Ooh- if we can play with her, does that mean we get to fight with her too? If we start training her now, she’ll be super strong when she’s our age, right?”
“I’m afraid she won’t be able to pick up a blade for a while, son, let alone a toy dagger. The most she’ll be able to hold is your finger, perhaps.” Dimitri mused, motioning for Mikhail to give it a try.
Carefully, your eldest reached forward, finding the teeny tiny hand that wasn’t bundled away, and pressed his fingers into her palm. Almost instantly hers wrapped around them, eliciting an excited gasp from her big brother.
“Oh!! She did! She’s holding my hand, Papa!!”
“Good job.” You said with a smile that suggested all the happiness in the world was filling your heart right then and there.
After a little more time passed, the visit had to come to an end. The queen and princess did need their rest, and you were in need of a change of dress while the bedsheets and blankets were cleaned and refreshed.
Dimitri took his sons out for a delightful dinner and their favorite desserts, as a treat for being such sweet big brothers.
Of course, in the brief time they were apart from you, they formed a pact, vowing to protect the little princess from any and all harm.
And said pact was extremely effective, until her Crest of Blaiddyd activated and her strength rivaled that of her adult father…at the age of five.
Needless to say, the addition of your little girl was a welcome and ever-exciting surprise for your growing family.

Reproductive Rights in Adrestia
We all know that pre time skip Fodlan was not a very nice place to live in. From endless class struggles to racism, misogyny, and just general corruption, they really had it all. But how much control did the people of Fodlan (specifically Adrestia, because that's my favorite one to talk about) have over their reproduction and did the men and women have an equal amount of control?
I think a reasonable place to start is with arranged marriages, which we all know is common place in Fodlan. Arranged marriages are often done for political purposes, especially among the upper classes, but there is also the component of people arranging marriages with the intention of producing a good heir. This is especially relevant in Fodlan, where crests are something you obtain genetically, making who your child ends up marrying and therefore having children with very important.
There are many examples we can look to for arranged marriages but I want to focus on Ferdinand and Bernadetta here as their A support reveals a sort of double standard when it comes to these marriages. Ferdinand reveals to Bernadetta that his father arranged for him to marry a girl he found frightening due to the rumors about her, leading him to "dissuade" his parents from going through with it. This girl, of course, ended up being Bernadetta, something she was completely unaware of. She says the girl Ferdinand was set to marry sounds "frightening" and is shocked when Ferdinand later reveals that this girl was her.
So, what does this little story reveal? Well, both Ferdinand and Bernadetta were set up to be in an arranged marriage, indicating that arranged marriages in and of themselves were not gendered. However, the freedom each of them was given in this situation varied wildly. Ferdinand was informed of this marriage and given a say in whether or not he wished to go through with it. When he expressed his concerns, his parents listened and pulled out. Bernadetta, on the other hand, was given no say in the matter. I think it's safe to assume this is something her father planned to just spring on her out of nowhere and to totally ignore her concerns. This indicates that, while men and women (or, in this case, boys and girls) could both be subjected to arranged marriages, the men were given more autonomy over their situation while the women were simply expected to accept it. It's also not far fetched to assume that, had Bernadetta been married off against her will, she would have been expected to produce heirs with her husband regardless of how she felt about him. This indicates a lack of reproductive freedom as women, or at least those in the upper class, were given no control over who fathered their children.
I would also like to discuss the story of Edelgard's parents. In her Goddess Tower speech, she explains that her parents fell madly in love but could not marry due to her father having already married for political purposes, leading her mother to instead become "one of his many consorts." Whether or not Edelgard's story is true is much debated fact, were her parents genuinely in love or is this just a girl romanticizing her parents story? Regardless of this truth behind Edelgard's story, this does reveal an important fact. That being that her father had "many consorts." A consort is technically defined as the spouse of a reigning monarch according to Oxford dictionary, although we know Edelgard's mom was never her dad's wife. Therefore, I think it is fair to say Edelgard's mom, and all the other consorts, were more similar to a concubine, or a "woman who lives with a man but has lower status than his wife." Now, Edelgard clearly believes her mother chose this life, but if we look at historical cases of emperor's (or whatever the equivalent to an emperor is in the society) concubines, they often were not given the freedom to choose. If the emperor wanted a woman to be his concubine, she simply had to oblige or likely risk punishment. While we are not given many details on what the emperor's concubine system and the rules surrounding it, I think it's likely it followed the general trend I described above, meaning that, even if Edelgard's mom chose to be a concubine, many women in the system likely did not. And once you became a concubine, there really was very little reproductive freedom. Again, we don't specifically know what life was like for Adrestian concubines, but let's look at some rules that existed for real life concubines to get the best understanding of what it might have been like. There is of course variation in these rules depending on where you look but some reoccurring rules I noticed were an inability to deny the king/emperor, rules against engaging in relations with other men, and many were expected to give birth to potential heirs (assuming they were in a society where concubine's children could be heirs, which we know as the case in Adrestia considering Edelgard's status). This means the concubines were likely given little to no control over their ability to have sex, they were instead forced to have it with one man regardless of their attraction to him and to have it whenever he wanted. Their feelings about becoming pregnant and bearing a child were also likely not taken into account.
Next, I want to focus on Hanneman's sister, who was born with a crest and whose story is revealed in Hanneman and Edelgard's A support. Hanneman's sister was said to have been "married off" to a noble whose power was waning. I think the use of the phrase "married off" is very important here due to the implications. Hanneman's sister did not "get married" she "was married off." The use of passive voice instead of active voice, in a way, positions Hanneman's sister as being an object that was being passed around by men. She did not have agency over her life, much like Bernadetta in her support with Ferdinand, we see here how she was expected to bend to the whims of the men around her. Furthermore, this phrase implies that she left her house and family to join her husband's. While this is not inherently a bad thing, I think it's important to note that a lot of patriarchal cultures expect women to essentially abandon their own families to join the man's. She is not expected to maintain connections to her old life but to meld seamlessly into her husband's world, almost as if she is not her own person but an object. This is especially jarring because Hanneman's sister was the one with the crest and her husband was from a noble family whose "influence was waning." We hear all the time about how people with crests are given preferential treatment and, while certainly true, this situation indicates the situation may be more complex than that. If we believed Adrestia was simply defined by the belief that those with crests are superior to those without crests, Hanneman's sister should've been the one with all the power. Her husband should've joined her house and followed her orders, but the opposite happened. This indicates some intersectionality in Adrestia's culture. While having a crest grants you status and power, this status and power looks very different for men and women (and can sometimes put you in a worse position if you're a woman, as seen by Hanneman's sister). Anyways, after her marriage she is expected to have children with her husband, but none of them bare crests. Her husband began to abuse her as a result of this and she was forced to continue trying to have a crested child until she eventually died. I'm sure this was not what Hanneman's sister wanted. Having tons of pregnancies back to back is not good for anyone, especially if you have a medical condition which we know Hanneman's sister did. She was likely exhausted and wanted to stop, but she had no say in the matter. Whether or not she got pregnant was entirely dependent on what her husband wanted.
So, what happened after children were born? There is less content to talk about here but I want to focus on the concept of child support and other social systems to help single mothers. It's no secret that having children is expensive, and for many young women, experiencing an unplanned pregnancy all alone is enough to completely upend their life. Even if they do manage to scrape by and provide them and their children with what they need financially, they will likely need to give up on many of their hopes and ambitions. Meaning forcing women to raise children without any help is a great way to control them. And who do we know who had a child as a single mother in poverty? Dorothea's mother.
Dorothea reveals in her support with Hanneman that her mother was, at one point, a noble's maid. Until she got pregnant with that noble's child. I do think we should acknowledge that there's a good chance Dorothea's mother was raped, but that's not the point of this section and has no evidence besides just the general way power structures work so we can ignore that for now. Instead, let's see how Dorothea's father treated her and her mother. Did he decide to step up and be a good father or, at the very least, use some of his ample wealth to make sure Dorothea and her mother were taken care of? No. He kicked Dorothea's mother out of his house, meaning she lost her employment and source of income once she was impregnated, forcing them both to live in poverty. And her father, seemingly, faced no repercussions. In many countries that are considered to be relatively good in regards to gender equality, there is some sort of legal system requiring men to help take care of their child(ren) at least financially to try and minimize selfish and irresponsible men's ability to ruin women's lives (since obviously it's much harder for a woman to run away from a pregnancy than a man). The actions of Dorothea's father indicate that there is either no system in Adrestia similar to child support or that there is a system but it is extremely ineffective. Dorothea also mentions how she "lived in the allies" meaning she had no shelter. This indicates a lack of shelters for homeless people in Adrestia. Furthermore, Dorothea also mentions starving as a child, indicating that there likely weren't any programs meant to help single mothers feed their children.
Overall, the lives of the Adrestian characters indicate a lack of reproductive freedom in the country, especially among women. There is not nearly as much information about what reproductive rights look like in post time skip Fodlan, but considering that fact that there are women who have endings where they are able to attain power on their own, either completely free from a husband or with a husband who is not their superior, I do think it is safe to assume that, after the war, some reforms are instituted to improve this aspect of life.

Hello! I hope that you are doing well!
I just wanted to send you a question regarding the amount of power Rhea has in Fódlan since something came to my mind. You know how during Edelgard's coronation, she said to her father that, "The Archbishop of the Church of Seiros would normally act as witness, but my professor will fill that role instead"?
Unless I missed something [or am overthinking], do you believe that Rhea was even there to witness Ionius' coronation?
We were told in the game that it had been ages since a member of House Hresvelg enrolled into the Officers Academy as well as that there had recently been a rift between the Adrestian Empire and the Church of Seiros.
Therefore, to me at least, that implied that said rift had been going on for a while. And I do not see why they would allow her there if such a thing was going on. Yet, Rhea does not retaliate against this as far as I know. Then there is the fact that Edelgard is allowed to be coronated without Byleth's presence. The Southern Church was dismantled, too, so…I think it is safe to say that there was not an official to witness her from there as well. lol
To put it simply, it feels very contradictory to me and adds a crack into the "Rhea controls Fódlan" perspective.
Hi!
I agree, that NPC going all "the empire and hthe church cut ties eons agao that's why supreme leader is the first imperial heir to attend since ages" suggests Rhea wasn't very welcomed in Enbarr.
FWIW the Nopes book about the Southern Church incident reveals the Emperor of that time already wanted to cut ties with the Central Church - and used this rebellion (which was more or less a Varley daughter wanting to have a role instead of letting her bother inherit everything?) as an excuse to finally give them the boot.
In a nutshell, I heavily doubt Rhea was around when Ionius was coronated, if her Church was already "not welcomed" by the time the Southern Church was disbanded.
The Archbishop acting as witness might be just some sort of old ceremonial thing, just like the "covenant of the red blood and the white sword", maybe all coronations try to renact the "oath" Wilhelm took/swore to Seiros when she presumably made him Emperor of Adrestia? And the Archbishop acts as a stand in for Seiros (even if we know better!) when the oath is sworn again by Willy's descendants?
As you pointed out, the Archbishop being present or not is merely decorum, since nowhere the game suggests that in the non-CF routes, Supreme Leader's coup coronation isn't regular or anything.
Rhea controlling Fodlan isn't backed up by canon, Adrestia has been doing its own thing for several centuries, the CoS only provides help (the game doesn't tell us what it is!) to Faerghus : Dimitri becomes King not because Rhea crowns or splashes oil on him, but because he is the Crown Prince and the last heir of the previous King. As for the Alliance, it does its own thing without her input!

Many years after the war, Everett managed to glean the location of his lost sister, at long last. He traveled for miles in rain and in snow to find her, even losing one of his limbs in the process. As soon as the pair finally laid eyes upon one another, they fell into a warm embrace and a flood of joy. Many tears were shed that day, so many so that some say they never stopped crying. The pair purchased a house on the far edges of Fodlan, where they lived quietly and peacefully for the rest of their lives. When Everett took on a wife, his sister happily taught her nieces and nephews how to sew while telling them stories of her childhood.
Happy end of fe oc week! Today I bring you another one of my fe3h ocs Everett in his Solo Ending for Day 7: Endings! It's been a bit tiring this week but I'm glad I was able to participate!
Everett and his sister were found on the streets of Faerghus and were taken in by the local church as orphans. The pair spent a few years there, growing to love the church with all of their hearts. When Everett was adopted, but not his sister, they promised to stay in contact with each other. One day, his sister disappeared without a trace, and he promised to search the whole world for her. He tried contacting churches all across the land (his reason being that his sister had grown to become a holy person and would seek out the closest church as a safe space), hoping to find her, but came up empty handed
Everett enrolled in the Officer's Academy because it was connected to the holiest place in the land. There, he would be at the center of it all, with even the archbishop just around the corner, it was the best place to start. The war would break out during his search, which would lead him to traveling Fodlan on foot until he would remember the promise he made to his classmates and his teacher
Everett is only ever reunited with his sister in his solo ending. In paired endings, she is mentioned, but ultimately the pair of siblings go the rest of their lives without seeing one another ever again.

Claude: "Allying with the Empire and killing Rhea is the best way to end this war quickly while keeping Leicester safe and independent" Also Claude: "Edelgard won't stop her war until all of Fodlan is united under her banner. I know that, Holst knows that, we all know that"

I was thinking about what @randomnameless talked about, the Imperial NPCs who act like the Church exists solely to serve the Empire and wonder why the Church isn’t helping them despite, you know, the Empire declaring war on the Church. Honestly, I think this goes back to how the Empire is supposed to have undergone moral decline, an example of this not being shown through the Black Eagles class.
First, I think about what Edelgard restored Southern Church does. We don’t know exactly what it preaches, but we do know that it appeals to people who weren’t into what the mainstream Church taught in addition to Mercedes not liking what Varley was preaching. I find Mercedes interesting in this regard,  as her endings in Flower replace her joining the Church with her looking after war orphans. We know Edelgard “restores” the Church following Flower due to a couple of endings, yet Mercedes doesn’t think to join it. Instead, she does something that goes against Edelgard’s social Darwinist outlook so I think it’s safe to say that she doesn’t agree with the new Church is saying.
The CoS told people to not abuse their power, treat others with respect, to not lie, kill, harm or steal without reason (the English text changes this to “by the will of the Goddess”), yet these beliefs don’t work for those who support Edelgard. So what do they want the Church to say?
That part about not harming without reason… Caspar’s endings in Japanese talk about his career, how he goes on military expeditions where he and his men are “often out of control,” yet because Caspar smiles whereever he goes it’s seemingly treated like a big joke in the Empire. We know the Imperial army operated by “kill them all if they don’t surrender”, so what does that “often out of control” mean? Who is being hurt by them and whose bright idea was it to change that to “sometimes reckless”? Yet the disturbing implications of this are treated as a joke.
Or you look at how the book says for those in power not to abuse it, yet we have Hanneman talking about the original intent behind the nobility and how those in power used it to keep others they deemed commoners down. That original intent went out the window when the OG Aegir had a duel with a female Emperor over, pushing the Empire from an intellectual meritocracy to a strength-based one. Or we have this supposed “enlightened” empire treating people from other countries as animals, just ask Petra. Or how about Dorothea and Yuri’s backgrounds implying that Imperial nobles wanted to sleep with a 15 year old Dorothea, but would settle for a 16 year old Yuri?
Even if that book in the Shadow Library is just a novel that took liberties with history, there’s still a lot showing how messed up the Empire is. Especially when you consider how Nemesis also worked with the Agarthans, how he spouted the same social Darwinist beliefs, and how he created an age of bloodshed and chaos, yet people still believed his lies and thought of him as a hero after death. But when you consider the implications of Edelgard’s association with the Devil Arcana, how it’s supposed to suggest Edelgard (and by extension, the Empire due to how the BE’s are supposed to represent that moral decline) have become corrupted due to being in the presence of TWSITD for so long.
For the last thousand years, the Agarthans have been turning the Empire into Agartha-lite, first by killing Lyacoan after their tool Nemesis was defeated. Then you look at the Agarthan’s symbolism, they’re the Asuras who got drunk on their own power, banished to the underground for it, but blame others for their misfortune and seek revenge. This fits with what’s in Houses, where the Agarthans went around killing their neighbors but when Sothis intervened to stop them they act like they’re the victims despite admitting they spilled too much blood in their own texts! And when Edelgard wins, she uses the Agarthans and their tech to maintain order in Fodlan (until they are no longer needed and their tech is taken by the Empire), and then she sends the Imperial army out on expeditions into other countries where they are “often out of control.”
Sothis’s ending, in Japanese, says that her stone (heart) “shattered” in Flower. You broke her heart, but shattered also means that it’s in pieces. The Sothis you see in the support may be just a piece of the real deal, her attachment to Byleth she left behind as she went to rebuild her body (which ties into how Nirvana is purging yourself of attachments that may cloud your vision). History is repeating himself, Nirvana was rejected, the cycle of death and suffering continues on.
This corruption is based in the Empire, but has also spread into the Western Kingdom whose lords flock to Edelgard and has some hold in the Alliance who admires the Empire and seeks to emulate it iirc. At their worst, the people of Fodlan are as self-aware as the Agarthans due to this, which also necessitates Byleth leading them spiritually.
Edelgard, the other hand, talks about the same things TWSITD’s previous weapon Nemesis did and her rhetoric on what’s “human” borrows from them as well. Not to mention how TWSITD view non-Agarthans as simply animals. Edelgard also has her Church that appeals to people within an Empire corrupted by TWSITD, and we know Hubert puts down rebellions for the Empire as well as how the Agarthan tech is needed for the same purpose. Hell, Hubert even has this line, “We who rule the shadows will eradicate those who slither in the dark.” Flower ends with the Empire becoming the successor to Agartha.

I find the whole premise of the war in Houses very sad.
Rhea is being targeted because "everything is the fault of Crests" according to Edelgard. Rhea has no power over Crests themselves, and the blood that enables Crest bearers to use Relics is dragon blood. The Relics are the bones of her brethren.
According to Edelgard, whose every ounce of information is fed to her by the Agarthans (why does she even believe anything her captors say again?), Rhea is an enemy... but why would Rhea condone anything related to Crests and Relics? Also, Edelgard didn't stop the Agarthans from kidnapping Flayn for her blood, allowing them to create demonic beasts. On top of that, she later uses demonic beasts for her war, so she uses Agarthan technology, etc, to turn regular humans into demonic beasts while saying that Rhea is the one at fault.
Rhea, who actively tries to stop Relics from falling into the hands of people who will turn into a demonic beast if they use them. She gets mad if Byleth says they won't turn over the Lance of Ruin to her, and it's one of the few times she openly gets mad at Byleth - because she knows the dangers of it falling into the wrong hands. Her only relief came from Sylvain - not Byleth - who said he would take the Lance of Ruin and assured her he wouldn't let it fall into anyone else's hands. He was also pretty convincingly honest about it, because she wanted him to remember the dangers of it and he says he "won't soon forget". Coming from him it was likely the most honest response she could've gotten out of anyone else in the monastery, so she let it go.
And also, here we are, with Rhea, one of the very last of her kind, being told she can't exist because she's not human, thus proving all her fears and worries about her identity correct. In CF, the last straw for her was that same person "taking" Byleth, Sitri's child, from her (i.e. even if Byleth "chose" that path, there was someone that was the cause of that decision. Without the war starting, Byleth wouldn't have decided that, so in Rhea's eyes it's Edelgard's fault, but she also isn't letting Byleth get away with it either).
It's also sad that Rhea's only chance to tell the truth (i.e. to Claude) was when she was already dying. There was no chance for her to tell the truth, be free of it and still feel safe. In this case she also wouldn't have died if the war had never started, because her five years of captivity by Edelgard left her weak and it kept her from being at her full strength when it came time to fight the Agarthans.
It's very frustrating for me too that we have Claude who does what he can to find out the truth, but Edelgard never does any such thing and just immediately believes what the Agarthans believe. Instead of her thinking her captors might be lying, she allies with them to kill Nabateans, which is exactly what they want. Why not try to find out the truth, or talk to Rhea to figure out what her side of the story is? Why just take the side of your tormentors both by information and in a war of your creation? Edelgard was a puppet on Thales' strings and willingly went along with it for years.
But somehow everything ever is Rhea's fault. See, even if Sothis was uwu BaD and stuff, I'm still not sure how any of that lands on Rhea, besides for her being Sothis' child and thus the children of the parent must die simply for who their parent is. Either way, it comes down to Rhea not being human, and thus Edelgard blaming her for every problem in Fodlan ever. It's sad to me because it really is that simple in terms of Rhea getting blamed for everything.
Rhea lied about the Crests and Relics, calling the people she hated heroes (something Edelgard could never do about the people she hated) to avoid more tragedy. It's almost like her lying for the benefit of humanity worked against her, which in an ironic way is like saying the humans were the enemies all along. She does good things for them and they just turn on her. It's kind of like, maybe she should've seen them as enemies all along, but she didn't. She accepted the ones who didn't hurt her or her kin. She accepted the people who had nothing to do with any of that.
Idk I just wanted to mention Rhea's place in the war because I've never really brought it up. It's just sad to me that she did everything she could to stay safe while not viewing humans as an enemy, but her kindness was part of her downfall. It makes me wonder if she'd told the truth eventually that people would've understood better. When she tells Claude, he realizes all the lies Rhea's been telling weren't hurting anyone, but instead allowing the power of the dragons to continue to exist in humans. If it had been her decision, she never would've allowed that because it was her family that was killed for that.
But like... apparently it's all her fault. Apparently everything is all her fault.
I know the Fodlan games have a huge glaring issue with victim blaming, but it's very sad to see that the victims are at fault right until their death (mainly on CF, but if you factor in Hopes, SB and GW too). They're blamed for their coping for how they suffered, and they're blamed for every little thing they do or don't do from then on. There's no winning. If you're a victim, you're a villain. Edelgard used to be a victim, but she stopped being a victim when she started making victims and siding with the people who tormented her in the first place.
Imo the story should've had Edelgard side with Rhea against the Agarthans and still have done four routes. Like... sometimes I think of what Edelgard could've been, how she could've turned on the Agarthans after pretending to work with them, and end up telling Rhea everything. She could've been a kinder person who had the same "ideals" (quotations because they're empty promises in canon) and could've been equally as resolute and strong.
She could've told Dimitri the truth that she hid from him despite having an entire year to tell him. She could've told Claude what she knew about Rhea after talking to Rhea, since he was looking for answers. She could've been a really awesome lead where CF/SS were similar routes with different perspectives (not necessarily identical), but those routes were her and Rhea working together. At the end, she could've taken responsibility for any time she worked with the Agarthans and moved on.
It's also sad how the fandom does the exact same thing to Rhea. She does something, she's bad. She doesn't do something, she's still bad. All she has to do is exist and she's still bad. If she reacts in any way because of her trauma, she's bad.
The fandom's views on trauma are pretty disgusting though tbh, because the general vibe is that if you have trauma you can only uwu about it. If you have any other reactions, including violent ones, you're horrible and need to be "put down" because you didn't have a "proper, correct" reaction to your trauma. If you don't shut up and deal with it, you're a bad person.
I feel like CF was a mistake with its writing and justifying the actions of ableism and imperialism both in one route. A mistake as in, now people actually believe that stuff is all well an good (despite the other routes saying otherwise).
Anyway that's it for this. I'm sure someone out there will call me a Rhea apologist now even though I'm not and even though she's not even remotely my favorite character lol.

Why are you still banging on about Edelgard wanting to kill Nabateans? Both Houses and Hopes make it clear killing is a last resort.
The fact that "killing (what you personally believe to be) the rest of the Nabatean race because you blame them for all of humanity's woes" is ever a "resort" in the first place is um. A problem

*raises hand* I'm very interested in any FE x AC crossover ideas you have
I've personally had a couple of thoughts about dropping Desmond into fates because I think him playing off of Saizo would be funny
From @a-faint-hope
Thanks and I would be interested in your FE x AC crossover ideas.
First of all, here’s an AC AU idea based on the Engage rings system.
Okay, I have 2 sorta kinda vague ideas:
One is an actual crossover set in Fodlan, specifically during Three Hopes. This one came to me when I was playing the demo for Three Hopes. So a bit of a ‘sidenote’, Three Hopes started its marketing during the time I’m super into AC (still am, still here) so whenever I would talk about Shez to my FE friends, I keep typing Shay instead. It got so bad that I honestly couldn’t remember Shez’s name for a while and I just kept typing it as Shay.
So…
How about a Three Hope scenario where Shay Cormac wakes up in the middle of nowhere and a person that calls themselves Arval can talk to them ‘telepathically’, telling him that they were connected by something that Arval themselves do not know what. Only that they woke up because they felt Shay. Shay looks around and… it was a battlefield.
He had woken up in a battlefield.
Left with no idea of what was happening and where he was, Shay travels to find more information, forming a sort of alliance with Arval as both of them need information to know why Shay is here in this strange land and why Arval has woken up inside Shay.
During their travels, Shay helps out three students who were running from bandits and is taken in by the Church of Seiros where he becomes an instructor. Shay knows that the woman called Lady Rhea is trying to keep him in check and close to find out who he truly is and where he came from.
For now, they give him the position of being one of the instructors and he gets to choose which ‘house’ he’d be the professor of.
Thinking of it for a while, Shay decides to pick Black Eagle because…
The young heir to the Adestrian Empire, Edelgard, reminded him so much of Haytham Kenway.
Shay’s appearance changes a lot of things, mainly because of his Eagle Vision. He realizes where the bandits hideout is and Edelgard’s ‘suggestions’ led them to the right direction (with Shay suspecting that Edelgard knows more than she’s letting on) and they manage to save Monica before the ritual, whatever that is.
Because of Monica’s survival and Edelgard taking in Shay’s inclusion to her plans, the whole thing goes very similar to Three Hopes’ prologue and Edelgard requests that Shay becomes one of her ‘vassals’ and help her rid Fodlan of its corruption and give way to real peace, not this fake peace that the three nations were pretending they had under the iron grip of the Church.
Shay, not having any other options and also thinking of the Black Eagle (especially Edelgard who always seemed lonely in Shay’s eyes) as his responsibility and having become close to them, agrees and becomes part of the Adrestian Empire’s army.
During the war phase, they learned that Jeralt’s Mercenary, the most powerful mercenary group in all of Fodlan, had been hired by the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus who, at the moment, is keeping Archbishop Rhea and her closest ‘confidants’ safe and giving them sanctuary. Apparently, the one who suggested that King Dimitri buy Jeralt’s Mercenary group was no one other than the Ashen Demon themselves, Byleth. But… that sounds more like a rumor at the moment.
As if that wasn’t enough, Shay realized that a certain group from House Riegan… wore white, had access to actual Hidden Blades (forged in materials found in this world) and… they call their leader ‘mentor’.
That’s as far as I got.
The main idea is:
Shay stays with Edelgard because Edelgard reminded him of Haytham Kenway and he thinks of the Black Eagle students as like siblings/children he couldn’t help but care for. He’s especially fond of Petra who may or may not have been getting one-on-one lessons from Shay to be more… Assassin-y.
Byleth may or may not have memories of the events of both Three Hopes and Three Houses. By the time Shay first sees them, they already have light green hair. (Byleth’s gender in this one is also a “???” as I usually write female!Byleth but, for this one, who knows?). Of course, I won’t deny that Byleth coming to Faerghus is absolutely because of Dimileth XD
The Almyra section has actually been done by the time the war phase starts as a man known as the ‘mentor’ had recruited people in Almyra (both local Almyrans, immigrants and even foreigners) and created a Brotherhood. Almyra is stable at the moment politically and the king of Almyra had requested that the mentor lend a hand on Leicester Alliance as part of their ‘tentative’ alliance with the Roundtable of Leicester Alliance. The mentor takes no orders from the Alliance but he and Claude are ‘friendly’ enough that he will listen to Claude’s plans but he’ll do whatever he wants in the end. No one know where the mentor came from although Claude is friendly enough to call him by his name… ‘Desmond’.
.
My other AC x FE idea is actually… uuuhh… AC characters set in an FE type of scenario?
The plot’s very barebone and might sound familiar:
Desmond wakes up in a place he doesn’t recognize and people he knew starts popping up but… they’re the same people he knew. They have the same name and looks the same and have similar personalities, only… ‘tweaked’ to the setting where magic is real and there are dragons (“They’re called wyverns”, yeah okay) and apparently Desmond was found in an underground temple where the ‘hope of the world’ is meant to be.
Because this world is currently in war with an unknown force that destroys everything in its path with an army of unknown origins and the nations of the world are trying to find a solution to this problem. The enemy army itself seemed to be made up of statues with glowing white light.
Desmond and his group are attacked and he realized that the statues all have the glow of a POE… and their armor and weaponry… looked very similar for some reason.
They are saved by the prince of the nearest country and… things spiral from there.
So…
Main idea:
Desmond gets to be the Avatar of this scenario. He starts of with the class that has a proficiency with swords (A), dagger (A), and bow (A).
Rebecca is one of the two people who finds Desmond. She’d probably be either a tank type or a monk type.
Shaun is obviously the other one and he’d be a tome type (if Rebecca is a tank, he would also have access to staves).
Now, for the other nations and their ‘playable characters’:
Altaïr would be the Lord of his nation although he’s technically just a prince when he meets (rescue?) Desmond. He has proficiency in Daggers (A), Sword (S) and Tomes (S) and his Lord class would be a Flying Unit (I’m thinking an actual Eagle because Griffin Knights are mostly known as non-magical units).
Malik and Kadar would be his vassals and they share the same class but with different proficiency (with Kadar having Staves while Malik has Tomes) aka: they’re the Abel and Cain archetype of this idea.
Kadar would be the first actual dedicated healer that the party would get if Shaun doesn’t have Staff proficiency.
(If they get promoted, they’d get flying classes which will become the Pegasus Sisters archetype with Altaïr XD)
Ezio would be the next Lord that they’d encounter although he’s just the second son of one of the nobles in their kingdom. He has proficiency in Bow (A), Lance (S) and Staves (S) and his Lord class will be a Ground Unit (look, there’s too many sword proficiency going around. We need to have the Weapon Triangle here XD)
Claudia would be one of his vassals. Not sure what her proficiency would be but one of them has to be Dagger.
Not sure on who his other vassal would be. Machiavelli being a magic type would be a good choice. La Volpe or Yusuf being Thief type classes would be good too. An absolutely left field would be Lo Sparviero taking the Aptitude trait (kinda like Donnel/Mozu/Jean).
Ratonhnhaké:ton would be the third Lord that Desmond recruits and he’s the clan mother’s grandson. He has proficiency in Bow (S), Axe (S) and Dagger (A) and his Lord class will be a Cavalry Unit (Either a wolf or a bear).
Aveline would be one of his vassals and she would have three possible classes to change into.
Kanen'tó:kon would be his other vassal and he’d be a tank unit.
Other than them… uuuhhh… possible other characters:
Haytham Kenway with Shay Cormac and Charles Lee (otherwise, they’d be reoccurring enemy units)
Edward Kenway with Adéwalé and Edward Thatch (Mary Read, Anne Bonny and Calico Jack are also with him though). They’ll be encountered on a ship stage, of course.
Arno Dorian with Pierre and Leon. If we don’t give Ezio Lo Sparviero as his vassal, Leon will have the Aptitude trait and be our Donnel/Mozu/Jean. Pierre might betray the party, maybe?
Henry Green with the Frye Twins. Jacob is a melee unit while Evie is a magic unit.
Aya with Bayek and Apollodorus under the command of their ruler Cleopatra. They’d be encountered as enemies first because of an order from Cleopatra. Bayek has the hero class (sword and shield), Aya is on the thief class line and Apollodorus would either be a tank or a lance type class.
Kassandra would be all on her own for some reason. She seems to have more idea than she lets on. If left up to me, I’ll make her miserable and turn her into a Tiki archetype XD
Eivor with Hytham and Randvi. They’re all looking for Basim and Sigurd (the ruler of their nation) who went missing some time ago. Eivor and Randvi would be the Axe-Bros archetype. XD
I was thinking of who the Jagen would be and all I can think of is Bill. He’ll be the overpowered promoted unit who would soon fall behind due to stat allocation and growth rates. To hammer it in, he will also be the “soon to be dead parental figure” Cornelius archetype as well. XD
.
Dropping Desmond into Fates would be fun too. A Desmond in Hoshido versus Corrin in Nohr would be the ‘easy’ choice or… you know… Corrin finds Desmond sleeping in Valla after she chose the Revelations route? I like the idea of Desmond acting like Corrin and Azura’s big brother because, holy shit, they’re too young to be in this kind of fucked up situation! Honestly, I can just see Desmond casually talking to Saizo while Saizo’s in his entire serious glory XD

Dear Vanessa,
Hey, this is Forde of Renais. I hope my brother found a way to get this letter to you. A lot’s happened recently and I started thinking “hey, I could write to her too!” I’m currently at the officer’s academy in Fodlan, yes that’s the same place Innes is (maybe you should visit eh?), and I’m having a great time.
It’s a shame we drifted apart-
In case you were wondering, I haven’t fallen asleep on a battlefield once since I last saw you! You must be proud I’m sure. I’ve been picking up magic, healing mostly. You said you were always interested right? Well I thought I had no affinity for it until a year ago, you should definitely give it another shot.
I’ve continued painting, I’ve actually retired from the Renais military now to pursue that. It’s a shame I can’t send them in the mail.
I hope you’re doing well, and I hope Titania’s doing well. Feel no pressure to respond, but I’d love to hear from you.
Forde
...
Kyle
I’m touched! Extract from letter 9 months ago: “Are you so lazy that you can’t write one letter in 3 months?” Extract from letter 8 months ago: “If you are alive, reply posthaste.” Extract from letter 6 months ago: “Please say you’re alive.” You’ve gone soft.
I am alive, and I haven’t just been ignoring your letters for the record. I was sent on a mission I volunteered for a dangerous mission, and ended up stuck somewhere where captured and we only escaped this very week. I was one of the lucky ones
I hope my letter finds you well. Seriously. Franz told me how you’ve been acting- I’m sorry that I made you worry- I wouldn’t die and leave you alone.
I missed you too.
Reply whenever you feel like it. God knows I’ve kept you waiting.
Forde
...
Dear Franz,
Sorry I haven’t been replying to your letters, I hope you haven’t been too worried. Even though it’s been so long, you never lost hope that I’d be here. I was in tears reading everything- Long story short, the mission lasted a lot longer than I was expecting. But it’s fine, I think. I’m safe now, I think.
We found ourselves in a village, and we lived with them. I made a lot of friends, one of them was a plant! I went fishing a lot, though it never tasted as good as your fish does. Sir Sigurd was there, I hope you remember him from my previous letter. Mark and Lianna were the other two I got pretty close too. Lovely girls. There was Aphaea, I don’t know where she is now, but she told some great stories! There was Chiron-
5 children died. Minos and Arke succumbed to a flood, before I got to know them. At times I began to forget they’d even existed. Nephele and Brizo were siblings, their mother Euphorie took her own life after they perished. Chiron went fishing with us, just a week before he died. He had such a lovely smile on his face when he caught that fish, and then he was gone
Arke had a mother too, she was distraught when-
Bronte and Eurus also succumbed to the flood.
There were others that died, but they were brought back to life. It’s horrible, but I can’t stop thinking the children should have been revived instead. That is, if they ever existed-
It didn’t feel like a year. I’ve lost a year of my life and I think I just slept through it. Even for me that’s-
It felt like a dream-
I don't understand what happened to us, and I'm terrified-
I haven’t been able to sleep as much, I keep worrying I’ll wake up and I’ll be back there
Dear Franz,
Sorry I haven’t been replying to your letters, I hope you haven’t been too worried. Long story short, the mission lasted a lot longer than I was expecting. But it’s fine, I’m safe now.
How are you? Did you ask that girl out yet? Hope I haven’t missed too much this year. I’m gonna stay at the academy a while longer, but I might try to visit sometime. Send everyone my love, give Kyle a hug from me. (Or if that’s too informal give him a handshake instead)
Love, the best brother in the world (Forde)
Ps. Do you remember Vanessa? The girl I met during the war? If you figure out where she lives, could you give her her letter?

Elusia's ring
Lyn - The lady of the plains.
King Hyacinth looked after Lyn's emblem ring and kept it safe in his bed chamber. I imagine that was one of the few places where it could be kept safe from his wife and mistresses and other malcontents. Lyn says that King Hyacinth was always kind to the ring. Lyn always fought to defend the weak and cared for them until they were well e.g: Florina, the old priest looking after mani katti or Mark. King Hyacinth is depicted as a sickly and kind king with his skill set relating to healing. He is the kind of person Lyn would lend her power to.
Lyn and Ivy are both deviants. Lyn learnt to wield a sword despite Sacaean culture frowning upon women taking up swordsmanship. Unbeknownst to her she was born with noble blood but she was not brought up to act like a traditional noble. Ivy worshipped the Divine Dragon as an act of rebellion. Her mother was manipulative, scheming and dishonest whereas Ivy shares both of those qualities with her mother.
Lyn was forced to go on a solitary journey after her tribe and parents were killed. Ivy faces similar circumstances when her father was murdered by the Fell Dragon and she has to leave her home and start on a journey of her own.
Hortensia and Byleth
Hortensia is paired with Byleth as a nod to the Academy in Elusia. Byleth plays the role of a teacher and Hortensia is a young lady with a lot of growing and learning to do. She is young and emotional, and that vulnerability is used by Zephia to manipulate her mind. Byleth had to guide many emotional and vulnerable children. Hortensia shares the same responsibilities as a princess that many of the young future rulers of Fodlan had.
Hortensia has Zephia's voice in her mind whereas Byleth has the voice of Sothis.
