Ok yall finally talked me into it and I downloaded Too Hot To Handle the game... and I love it. I'll echo what everyone's saying that it feels like what I loved about season 2 LITG is all here.

Here's some other live blog thoughts about how good it is lmao

The animation is leagues ahead of what LITG tried to do for matchmaker/s4. It's smooth, it's not static characters uncomfortably blinking and breathing at you. There are really smoothly animated cutscenes, but generally the characters are static with expressions changing similar to LITG s1 and s2

I didnt think I was going to like the artstyle- it's realistic similar to Choices or Episode LimeLight- but all the characters look really good and the backgrounds are what you'd expect. It's not an iconic artstyle like LITG, but it gets you attracted to/invested in the characters.

The customization is insane. You can be man/woman/nonbinary, and choose from thin curvy or muscular for both genders. Unfortunately there isn't a fat option or a visibly transmasc option, but that's a pipedream lol. There's SO many different skin tones and just as many hairstyle options for textured hair as there are for straight/thin hair. You can have your physically male body wearing a bikini, there's tons of tattoo locations and styles to choose from, the jewelry isn't locked to female styles, and all the outfits look good on all the body shapes.

I really like that they have you choose from preset faces instead of customizing each feature individually. Your character ends up looking more cohesive than LITGs uncanny MC, and I'm sure it's easier for the artists and programmers to change MC's expression. There are like 10 face options for both genders, and they prioritized racial inclusiveness so you'll definitely find one that works for your character.

The LIs are hot. My biggest complaint with S3 onwards was that LITG just gave the boys way too many muscles and lost touch with proportion. THTH's characters look like real people. Not to mention there's. LI with vitiligo (Sarah you're so hot plz marry me) and an nonbinary LI (Alex you're also so hot please marry me, it'll be much healthier than Sarah and I's relationship)

There's no clunky opting in to be attracted to the same sex, you decide on a LI by LI basis if you're interested then their attraction to you is based on an accumulating meter of your interactions. That seems WAY more inclusive than the way LITG ever did it.

At the end of every chapter you get to see the percentages of how you chose versus how the rest of the players chose and I'm OBSESSED with that. It feeds my individuality complex for sure because the rest of the player base doesn't have good taste 💅

Hello, I was passing by here to talk about a dream I had.

I was in the Lookism universe and for some reason I sat next to Jerry Kwon at school (HE HAD HAIR), besides that I was kind of his love interest, totally in my dream Jake shaved it in vacation and we hadn't seen each other in a long time, and when I saw him without hair I stopped liking him ): (which is weird because I like Jerry in real life), and he knew it because I had told him that I would never fall in love with someone without hair, the rest of the dream was him and trying to "win me back" and in the end we became boyfriends, I also introduced myself to Big Deal for the first time (it went a bit wrong because on the ground I had a dog named Jake and because of that I was simply unable to fully respect Jake, I respected him as a friend, not as someone important on that street)

I don't have any friends who like Lookism but I thought it would be a good idea to make this "note" to you, I thought you might like to listen/read my less smokey dream.

I have seen some fun gender bending fanart tbh of Gun/Goo! Actually I'm surprised why PTJ doesn't go down this avenue more with new characters? That should surely attract his key demographic right.

Once again I don't know the genre but I think Leo doesn't quite have a favorite genre? Since his memories got blasted he's not quite sure anymore, but in my brain I associate him with Matt Maeson a lot since I was listening to his songs a bunch when creating him.

Annabelle's setting has a 1920s kind of vibe (at least the kingdom she lives in does), and so she enjoys that kind of old-timey jams!

Ven and John actually have like, really similar music tastes, sans the vocaloid bc it doesnt exist in Ven's universe. Folk Punk is Ven's guilty pleasure

Apollo and Leo both have a habit of holding their hands together when they miss their partner/exes- and it's actually a habit I myself have picked up.

John's whole NotDeer thing started because I had told a librarian about him, and admitted I didn't know what kind of monster he was yet- and she asked if he was a deer monster due to his last name. Thank you Ms Librarian u changed his entire trajectory thank u <3

Valentine was created after/ while I was reading the DIE comic series- the main character's scene in prison was the main inspiration for him.

Animation Notes: evolution of the anime girl, part 1

So last week we investigated ways of drawing the human head in a realistic way. Armed with this knowledge, let’s see how to stylise it...

Nowadays, when people speak about ‘anime style’, or an ‘anime girl’, they probably mean a moe design like this:

Animators learn to draw this type of design, and various standardised symbolic expressions, in books like キャラの気持ちの描き方 (kyara no kimochi no egaki kata, How to Draw the Feelings of the Characters).

Certain features you expect to see here:

the basic structure is resembles the Loomis head: spherical cranium, jaw coming down.

the cheek/jaw contour is simplifed and comes to a point (or close to it), with an outwards curve along the cheek. There is no major sharp indentation around the eye socket, but there may be a gentle concave curve.

the eyes are very large, with a lot of detail put into the shading of the pupil, specular highlights, and the shape of the eyelashes; the face is balanced around these large eyes so it doesn’t look alien.

the nose by contrast is massively deemphasised to the point of just being a dot in many cases.

the face has almost no structure or shading, so that it’s almost always a completely flat colour.

the mouth is also drawn very small, with no shading or structure applied to the lips; a small shadow under the mouth might be applied.

the neck is very narrow, and meets the head in the centre, so the cranium goes back about as far as the face goes forwards in side view.

the hair is broken up into roughly triangular locks. (the number and position of these locks of hair is actually part of the settei and the animators are expected to keep it consistent.)

the hair has typically three layers of shading: midtone, shadow, and specular highlight. the shape of the specular highlight is part of the design and won’t usually be changed based on lighting conditions. the skin rarely has a specular highlight. the eye could easily have four or more layers of shading.

lines are very thin and even, and may sometimes be broken inside the form - particularly on a closed mouth. the contours of major forms are typically outlined, while shadows and highlights are usually lineless

generally speaking, characters’ heads are much bigger than they are on real humans relative to the rest of the body.

At some point I made a little turnaround based on that book of my best attempt at the time of a moe anime head. here,

Looking back at this I can see some issues, e.g. with inbetweening the upper contour of the head, but overall this still works pretty well. Maybe soon I’ll try and do a more complex head turn with acting and like... actual hair lmao.

Anyway, this approach to stylisation could be considered something of a ‘default’ in the anime industry, but of course 1. it has evolved considerably over time, and 2. ‘anime’ encompasses a huge range of styles.

We could focus on a number of threads, but in this case, I’m going to zero in on drawings of main character girls in 3/4 view - chosen because these are some of the least diverse not the most, since, male characters tend to be more varied in general, either with more ‘realistic’ proportions or more exaggerated and stylised.

Actually, to comment a little further on that. The ‘large eyes’ stylisation is typically applied to characters intended to have a certain amount of cuteness, so in addition to the familiar genus of anime girl, it is also commonly applied to young boys. We can see this in the wildly popular ufotable adaptation of Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer), which in classic shōnen fashion has a young hot-headed boy as its protagonist:

However, as your anime boy grows up into an anime man, his eyes will tend to get smaller, closer to a real size. It’s hard to find another example in Demon Slayer (I couldn’t find anyone scanning the first few episodes) so let’s turn to another anime.

A much stronger of dimorphism example comes in Production I.G.’s anime Psycho-Pass. Here is protagonist Akane Tsunemori, designed by Akira Amano and Kyoji Asano, who has huge eyes with a distinctive shape:

Starring alongside her is Shinya Kōgami, who’s 28 years old, and has much smaller eyes:

and for even stronger contrast, the older Nobuchika Ginoza:

You can see therefore that as a character gets older, their design often (not always) shifts further towards realism: their eyes get smaller, and a lot more lines and wrinkles are added to the face. (The strong shadow under the cheekbone is incidentally a Production I.G. staple.)

Something similar also applies to women; smaller eyes and more structure tends to indicate maturity. Let’s take a different Production I.G. work, Seirei no Moribito; here is 30-year-old Balsa designed by Gatou Asou:

and returning to Psycho-Pass, here is Jōshū Kasei, the director of the police unit, an older woman:

Although the amount of extra face detail isn’t quite so extreme as Ginoza above, we see the addition of lines to indicate the nasolabial fold, and more complex shading around the eye socket.

(Of course, not every anime takes this exact approach. In particular, there are ways of stylising old people which push into exaggeration; Hayao Miyazaki loves doing this.)

Now, this ‘look’ to anime has only been the standard for a couple of decades at most. The styles used in anime of the 1980s tended to look very differen, as you can see comparing Gunbuster (1988-9), with characters designed by Haruhiko Mikimoto...

to its sequel Diebuster (2004-6) a decade later, with characters designed by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto:

This particular shot animated by Ayumi Shiraishi might be a bit looser, simplifying shapes for comedic effect, but one of the differences is precisely the greater willingness to go off-model like this.

Part of the difference is surely the transition from physical, painted cels to digital colouring and compositing, but as you can see looking at the settei above, there is a real difference in feel from the 80s design to the 2000s one. This comes in places like: the shape of the chin, the use of hatching, the general feeling of the shapes (more rounded in the 80s), the bulk of the hair.

So, where did the ‘anime style’ come from? Let’s trace its evolution across the entire duration of anime, in a manner similar to Kimi Rito’s ‘expressionist’ approach in The History of Hentai Manga. Of course, it would be impossible to comment on every anime ever made, but I’d like to find representative examples of most of the major styles used in the industry in their respective eras.

The Very Dawn of Anime

Japanese animation (whether or not we yet consider it ‘anime’) is pretty much as old as animation itself, i.e., started in the beginning of the 20th century.

Famously, Osamu Tezuka got the ball rolling on TV anime with Astro Boy, but prior to him there was a reasonable amount of film animation, and prior to that, short film animation. I believe the oldest known Japanese animated film is Namakura Gatana (1917) by Jun’ichi Kōuichi, a short film about a samurai with a blunt sword, in a cutout animation style looked like this:

Naturally this has little resemblance to any of the future styles that became known as ‘anime style’. To me it calls to mind a little ukiyo-e artists such as Sharaku, but also presumably shows the influence of international animators like Émile Cohl. We’ll skim over those first few experiments though - please read about them here if you’re interested!

In contrast to later styles of anime we’re going to cover, here the balance of features is essentially opposite with a large jaw and mouth, reduced cranium, exaggerated forehead. I’m not going to draw a study of this one.

1930s

Unfortunately many of the films of the 1920s are lost, so it’s difficult to comment on them. So rolling the clock forward a bit, we can observe one interesting example in Benkei tai Ushiwaka (1939), a fantasy/mythological film that came in a period when animators were largely required to make propaganda films for the nationalist government.

So here’s Ushiwaka (Minamoto no Yoshitsune); there’s no credited character designer but presumably the design is due to Kenzo Masaoka, the director of the four-person team. (He and his wife also did the voice acting.)

What influences this design? It’s hard to say without a much deeper familiarity with Japanese art history at the time. We might see the influence of Fleischer; at the time Japanese animators were competing with foreign productions by working cheaply (la plus change...), but American animations were widely shown, so no doubt Fleischer and their contemporaries would prove an influence - particularly in the animation itself which uses a lot of loops in the same way as Fleischer. And, indeed, in this film, Masaoka was experimenting with pre-recorded sound to follow the American method. Regardless, we’re here to study faces.

So here’s an attempt to copy Ushiwaka; no tracing, etc. I picked this character because he seems the most similar to future anime designs.

The way I broke this down is a kind of wedge shaped head (like a Loomis head), which I indicated with dashed lines, and then cheek chub added on to make a rounder head shape overall. The overall contour has a slightly thicker line weight. The forehead seems very large here, and the eyebrows faced very high, bc he’s a historical monk etc. etc. The big difference is that the eyes are simple and haven’t been drawn very big, and the way the nose is drawn.

Looking at the designs in this film, it doesn’t look exactly like any Disney/Fleischer characters, but I do think it shares a bit of a design sensibility with Disney of this era (notably Snow White).

Beyond animation, the other major cultural presence of illustration would be kamishibai paper theatre, where performers would show illustrated cards to a accompany oral storytelling. It’s a little difficult to find examples of kamishibai boards dating back to the 1930s, but here’s one I found in this article from a kamishibai called Cry of the Andes (アンデスの叫び Andesu no Sakebi) originally sourced from Manga Kamishibai by Eric P Nash.

This has a painted style that resembles American commercial illustration in the same period, though notably the face is quite flat and without much shading away from the eyes, or the use of line weight under the nose.

1940s

After Snow White proved that an animated feature film was in fact possible, other countries jumped on in. So the first feature-length Japanese animated film - a propaganda film - came during the second world war.

(In fact, as an aside, Japan’s animators were beaten to the feature film punch by the Wan brothers in Shanghai who completed Princess Iron Fan under Japanese bombs! Animation Night 29 - that film may be watched here on the Internet Archive, though sadly it’s quite a rough print.)

In this period, the fascist government was exerting severe control on art, but also throwing a lot of money at those animators willing to play along and make propaganda films. That takes us to Momotaro: Sacred Sailors (1945), the sequel to the 37 minute Momotaro’s Sea Eagles (1943). It centres on the folk character Momotarō who had been increasingly appropriated as a nationalist symbol, portrayed as a soldier in the Imperial Japanese Army/Navy, since the First Sino-Japanese War.

This one uses mostly anthro animal characters, and features for its time extremely sophisticated animation of war machines, and generally a high drawing count. Shōchiku made a 4K print of it (complete with big disclaimer at the beginning) which can be viewed on Youtube here.

The actual character designs are very simple - perhaps even more so than Ushiwaka above. Very rounded cutesy shapes - an early instance of cuteness being used to promote imperialism and war I suppose. This character is a monkey, but we can look at them a bit like a human still. The face is very flattened: the overall head shape is two curves connected by straights. It’s kind of like a lego head.

Momotarō is mostly relevant because of the influence it had on later animation. Notably, a young Osamu Tezuka saw the film in 1945; WP unsourced writes:

He later said that he was moved to tears by the movie's hints of dreams and hopes, hidden under the appearance of war propaganda.

The staff on the film included Kenzo Masaoka, director of the above discussed Benkei tai Ushiwaka; most of its staff (quite a small list!) had a limited career in subsequent anime.

Kamishibai also took on a militaristic tone during this period, such as Kintaro the Paratrooper seen here:

I don’t have the evidence to really document whether the difference in style from the previous example represents a general trend, but these illustrations are a lot simpler and more graphical.

In 1945 of course Japan lost the war and the country came under American occupation. US comics, films and TV flooded into Japan, and this kicked off an explosion of manga creation - indeed, the definition of manga as an art form. So this is where our history really begins.

you are right, "woke" has truly lost all meaning as a term... one of my new favorite games has a very basic and positive message to it but because the localization inserted some nonsense about a nonbinary character it got labeled as "woke SJW trash" even tho the rest of the script is pretty accurate to the original Japanese

I also saw comments about how just including a gay relationship in this game is "agenda-pushing" like I really don't get that tbqh. it just reminded me of people complaining that the new Zelda game is "woke" because it has a few characters who aren't lily white and Zelda has short hair lmao

LMAO Dying at the "woke" Zelda bc some characters are Black. Isn't that a fantasy game? like, with magic, talking trees, trolls and shit but Black people existing is a reach?? (they did the same for Lord of the Rings TV show)

I think the reluctance of these folks to see non White people in fantasy content is bc White people want to gatekeep fantasy as a 'White only' genre. Which is funny because White people have no problem reappropriating foreign genre for their own gain 🙃

Funny how these woke hunter always forget those Hollywood movies adaptation of foreign stories where the studio ALWAYS need to shove a WHITE hero for some reason or purposely use a story where a White character can outshine others?

Remember the samurai movie with Tom Cruise? 7 years in Tibet? Also Mulan love interest was supposed to be a White man initially, but people complained and it's been scrubbed off. There are whole think piece exposing how the Whites LOVE inserting themselves into POC stories to elevate themselves as heroes. Even woke storyline don't go that far with their non White characters ; they are always confined as side kick and minimum screetime (is it true that all the dark skin characters of the house of dragon ended up dying after the first season?? lmaoooo)

And I always said that the issue wasn't non White people being shoved in "White people story" because when Black Panther happened their were still mad and were seething about that movie catering to Blacks (but don't you dare saying movies featuring mostly White people are catering to White, it will make you an awful wokester lmao). Whites will always feel entitled for other races to relate to their stories, but never the other way around. There's a post floating around cathblr with Catholics raving about Arabs discovering the Lord of The Ring and enjoying it a lot. And I couldn't help but think: would those catholics turn the favor and rave about an Arab movie with islamist undertones...? 🙃 lmao.... Those people are soooooo transparent 💀

Everything is woke if you try hard enough, anyway. Scrotes are seething because they consider some video game female characters are purposely made ugly (like Aloy from Horizon Dawn. 10. How would you describe your writing process?

a total mess lmao

uhhh... generally i come up with the concept first, or at least a scene that i think would be cool, write that first, and then build the rest of it as i go. a HUGE proportion of my writing is inspired by music or songs as well, so i'll loop that as i'm writing - i find it difficult to write without music playing at this point!

generally i make the plot up as i go, based on what i think would be fun and/or realistic! for instance, the initial concept of thy fair imperfect shade was literally just "elliott has a sexy dream about sunshine and doesn't know what to do about it" - his whole morality crisis, plus the twist with sunshine at the end, were all invented during the process rather than mapped out beforehand. storyboarding or similar never works for me, seeing as i just end up going off the rails and writing something totally different depending on whatever flavour of brainrot i have that day :)

take one small paradox - i tried to plan that one and it went wrong almost immediately! fun fact: there was never meant to be a statue at all, and it certainly wasn't meant to feature so prominently. the original concept was a conversation between academy president lasko and locked-up vindemiator, where lasko would basically pull a bond villain and monologue about how lovely freelancer is, gloating about how he's going to basically indoctrinate them and there's nothing that poor vindemiator can do.......

unfortunately for supervillain-lasko, i got distracted while i wrote the opening scene, so he didn't actually get to say anything at all! the final line is a nod to that first idea, with vindemiator trapped underneath the academy, mourning a life that could have been but not knowing why.

"and underneath the academy, for no reason at all, an incubus begins to cry."

17. Do you think readers perceive your work - or you - differently to you? What do you think would surprise your readers about your writing or your motivations?

to tell you the truth, i don't know if i hope they do or i hope they don't!! i don't go out very much at all irl, and i find it really difficult to talk to new people, so a lot of my writing comes out of feelings of loneliness or isolation that i don't know are always obvious if you're not looking for them.

that being said, i think i put a lot of myself into my writing, especially the ways i see the world and think about love and friendships and connections between people, so i like to think that we're all on the same page, so to speak.

um, if you wanted something unexpected.... virtually everything i write is about being in love and all those sorts of feelings, so maybe you might be surprised that i've never been in a relationship before...? like seriously, i've never even kissed anyone before (don't you just love being socially anxious and also queer?), so literally every time i write about that, i'm totally making it up lmao

21. What other medium do you think your story would work well as? (film, webcomic, animated series?)

i would LOVE to turn some of my fics into short films, particularly the ones where i have a really strong attachment to the aesthetic or i think the image is really clear and would be fun to see unfold on screen. plus, i'm much funnier irl than i am when i'm writing, so being able to add all of those extra visual bits and pieces, as well as dialogue that doesn't translate well to writing, would be really fun! wonderland, rebel flesh, take a sip, thy fair imperfect shade, body contact, knock knock!, can't help but see, hold on tight...

this might be totally wrong, but i'd love to turn something like knock knock! into a script, at least the bits with gavin and guy and fl in - if anyone's taken drama gcse, it would be the sort of thing that you'd do for the live performance bit of the exam! god, as i was writing it i just wanted to BE there in the scene, and i had such a clear picture of the whole thing. tbh, i write the scenes i want to see - clearly the inner drama student in me is still going strong!

(this is unrelated, but if i had any drawing talent whatsoever then i would ABSOLUTELY draw the statue from one small paradox - i have a really strong idea of what it looks like in my head, and i just love the bittersweetness of that one - all that about turning love into stone. i did my best to describe it, but some things are better to see than to read, you know? @delllonggone mentioned it and now it won't get out of my head..... 🤯🤯)

As a longtime fan of One Piece, at this point I'm pretty used to Oda's eye for over-the-top exaggerated character designs. From the fishmen to hogback to whatever's going on with Ivankov, nothing feels too super surprising anymore.

honestly i hadnt even thought about pok being abel to control people through bodysharing. if they can, theyre definitely not aware of it, and itd be something very minor partially bc i dont wanna make them too op and partially because itd SUCK on ponks end. bodysharing with someone feels weird on both ends - like, if gumi had known ponk was bodysharing wiht her (or had been coherent enough to like... feel it) she would've felt that something was off. like it makes ponks spirit feel to-the-left but it makes whoever he's bodysharing with feel three-steps-back. both participants aren't quite in their bodies, so trying to control someone would be like trying to pull a remy ratatouille while in a sensory deprivation tank.

beyond like. REAL concerns i think ponk keeps the bodysharing a secret just because its awkward and hard to explain. like if you were talking to someone and you were like "hey yeah man just gotta... inhabit your body for a bit dw its all good its good for your health" no matter what they'd be like "hey what the fuck???" and real concerns-wise i think that like. if you can invade someones body pretty much without resistance from them youre gonna inspire a witchhunt. like yeah sure ponk cant do anythign HARMFUL with it but thats some dudes body hes in. what if she was like "ooooo you wanna give me your credit card information sooooo bad ooooo" and subliminally effected their thoughts. does she deserve to steal someone's credit card? fuck yeah but thats generally frowned upon and also not-very-neutral of her lmao

also ngl im not entirely sure how ponks tree works with the healing kekw i am. literally making this shit up as i go. it definitely nullifies some of the harming effects of healing, though - its like.... mmmm this isnt a perfect metaphor but like if you gotta sustain a certain amount of burns (we're in saw, i guess???? not like... killer burns. like 20 first degree burns.) and you can choose between burning only half your body or all of it, its gonna be way more damaging to put it on half because now HALF your body is out of commission. if you spread it out over the rest of your body, its still gonna fuckin suck, but it's not condensed yknow? so when ponk heals without his tree, its like putting all those burns on half his body, but when he heals with it, its all over, and he has the added bonus of like.... default dissociation with half of the burns since he isn't actively in his tree all the time. his tree takes on some of the damage.

okay fuck it i AM spoilering bc now brain go brrrr so ignore the rest if you dont want minor spoilers

okay so ponk healed gumi's back. she

set and healed bones - broken and chipped

healed muscle

restored skin

treated burns

pushed out remaining shrapnel (which she isnt aware of)

(gumi's injury was nasty and it fucking sucked, but she was stable. if ponk had the equipment and the confidence, they could've fixed her up without healing her, but it would've left her incapacitated for so long that even if ponk thought they were capable of healing her manually, she would've been sorted into the "heal with ability" category. like.... it was BAD, but due to gumi's own regenerative abilities, it wasn't life threatening with proper treatment.)

in the next chapter ponk wakes up with a MASSIVE headache and she feels scorched out. like, it fucking sucks, and she's going to be fatigued and have some fairly bad headaches for a week or so, but it'll be manageable.

if he hadn't had his tree, he would've been completely incapacitated for over a week. (cannot elaborate for plot >:(((.) his healing is essentially just ...giving, so it takes a while for him to get himself back.

and thats an injury that technically wasnt life threatening :D velvet got it bad :D

i don’t typically think about stuff like this, so this was sorta fun to research lol. i don’t often take pics of myself and i share them even less, so i didn’t exactly have anyone to ask for second opinions 😶

i usually focus on characters that i want to look like more than ones i actually resemble, plus my body type is hard to find in media… but here’s my list 😌

in terms of hair/eye color, my eyes are hazel-green and my hair is auburn. i’ve lost some of my redness in recent years (hair’s more of a cinnamon color currently), but i’m planning on dying it back to auburn lol. two characters i’ve always personally looked at and gone, “ah, ideal version of me!” are mary jane and claire redfield.

growing up, i frequently got compared to any redhead by my family, regardless of how much i actually looked like them – my mom would always compare me to ariel, merida, or anna whenever we’d talk about disney, for example. i’m biased towards redheads (esp. ones with green eyes too) because i’m so used to seeing myself in them, even though i don’t really resemble most of them lol.

as for body type…

i’m stumped, honestly :/ most women in media are given super “ideal” proportions y’know, whether that’s making her super slim, fat, or curvy in just the right places. i’ve got an odd body type, so i’ve yet to encounter a character that looks like me. also haven’t had anyone tell me “[x character] has your body!” so i don’t have any opinions to go off.

if i had to describe myself— i’m a very curvy girl. my thighs are perfect to fit my corgi-sized cat, it would take probably five of my own hands to wrap around the apex of them, and my hips are as you’d expect with that measurement lol. i’ve got a super high waist (just under my chest) that dips in pretty dramatically, and my bra size is 38ii.

i know that makes me sound like some jessica rabbit-esque “thicc goddess”, but i’m really not. my stomach isn’t flat, i’ve got a rounder face, and i’m convinced that my legs are weirdly short lmao.

as i was typing this all out, i started talking to my brother about the body type issue, which ended up catching the attention of the rest of my household. according to them, apparently i sorta look like rose from titanic. aka kate winslet in 1997. which is a MAJOR COMPLIMENT, OH MY GOD??? 😭😭

i’ll admit, i kinda see it? face shape has some similarities, but obviously i’m no kate winslet, she’s fucking gorgeous 💀 my hair’s also stock straight to the point of barely holding a curl.

there’s a few more characters that i definitely identify with and could see myself feasibly cosplaying in the future, even though the resemblance is weak at best for most of them. several are women from comics because i love a woman that can kill me <3

(claire is here again bc i honestly prefer her game appearance over the movies lol)

and yes. #5 IS bloom from winx club. i think cosplaying her would heal my inner 9 y/o self that was obsessed with looking like her.

That definitely falls under the category of "things he only trusts a very small select number of people to do" -- and, in this case, I think there's only one name on that list, and it's Chris Redfield. It's something that Leon enjoys while getting fucked, and at no other time. Having his air cut off while he's already being submissive is the ultimate relinquishment of control -- which he absolutely would get off on, but I think he'd legit freak out if it was anyone but Chris.

Just as a general rule, I just sort of write off d sizes as "proportional to the rest of his body" because like. In my many years of penis-handling experience, that's usually how that tends to go. And Leon is either 5'10 or 6'1 depending on which bullshit supplementary material you're looking at, so normally I would've put him at around 6.5" (I hate that, as I'm thinking about this, I realize just how much actual data I have about this in my brain) -- but Ada is a size queen, and we know that she wanted to go back for seconds. So I'd probably give him an extra inch. Maybe an inch and a half.

I don't think there's any difference between OG and Remake for that.

It's just the slightest shift in my proportions, the prelude to an announcement that not even Genya could help me hide.

But for now, it's still relatively easy to keep what I now am private. Aleksander likes it that way, and I understand his reasons for keeping my pregnancy secret enough to be relatively indifferent to when the news comes out. Though on nights like these, I just want to rip off the corset Genya tightens around my torso each morning and tighten my loose dress. Let the entire world know that I'm pregnant--that I'm not without attachment.

Maybe that would be enough to prevent arguments like these. The silent types of fights seem to be the most brutal. The fights in which his mere presence is more violent than words ever could be. These fights have become rarer since I told him about my current condition, but there's one thing that no amount of understanding will ever rid him of. The type of jealousy born of a relationship meant to only exist behind closed door and in abandoned corridors.

"Darling." The quietness of his voice is severe enough to send a bolt of nerves straight through me. He'd never hurt me--with or without his child, I know that he'd never cause me physical harm. It's just his anger is so consuming, so unavoidable and draining. "Do not make this worse for yourself by attempting to delay the inevitable." He takes a step forward, allowing me to see his expression for the first time since he first wrapped long fingers around my forearm, pulling me away from someone who meant no harm. His expression is harsh, made of the shadows he controls. "You know what you did."

I swallow, letting my hand fall from my stomach. Different responses rise and die in the back of my throat. None of them seem like they'd diffuse the situation. I didn't do anything--that could either make him angrier at me or angrier at the poor guard that had been speaking to me. Nothing happened, is worse, and you're overreacting could be fatal. Besides...none of it feels as true as it should. Though everything I did was innocent in theory, I can't deny the fact that I had been irritated. I had...I'd felt forgotten, and with how busy Aleks has been, I couldn't think of a good way to do anything about it.

And then today, while I was feeling displaced and hormonal, and tired of being left behind...so I let myself entertain the idea of welcoming someone else's attention. It was nothing bad, no blatant flirting or forced laughter. Just the slight prolonging of a conversation. If the man escorting me had not noticed me trip...if he hadn't helped me regain my balance by placing a supportive hand on my waist, so close to Aleksander's child, I think I would have been able to ease him by being extra affectionate and feigning the need for a nap. If he had kept pushing, I would have made a joke about 'pregnancy brain' and then shifted the conversation to the discussion of our future. I'd have turned this into the conversation about baby names and how we'd turn the room that adjoined ours--the room that used be mine--into a nursery.

But I had stumbled in the garden, and one of the two guards required to walk with me when I want fresh air had saved from falling at the exact moment that Aleksander decided to look for me.

"I told you, I tripped and the guard did what you want them to do, he helped--"

"Do not speak of him." My mouth shuts, my lips pressing together into a cautious line. "Don't pretend that all you did was trip. I saw you two, you laughed with him." He crosses the distance he put between us, as in control as ever. A small part of me is shocked when the hand that comes to rest on my waist doesn't burn. "You let him touch you." Each syllable is punctuated, acidic. His fingers graze across the fabric of my dress before he spreads his palm across my stomach. "...You let him touch my child." All semblance of security evaporates from me for a brief moment, but dread does not take over. No, something sharp wedges itself between me and fear and it leaves my entire body hot. Hot in a way I haven't felt since the night I told him about what we created together. "Our child," he continues, moving his hand across the expanse of my stomach until he reaches its apex, "you'd think with a life we made growing inside you..." His other hand sneaks onto the small of my back, with the slightest bit of pressure, he pushes me forward, "You'd remember."

Swallowing back nerves, I force myself to not shrivel beneath his gaze. "Remember what?"

His hand trails up my back until he reaches my shoulder. I relax when he gives it a tentative squeeze, but then he allows his fingertips to trail across my collarbone and up my neck. A hint of warmth adds something behind his eyes, something secretly vulnerable. I exhale, relaxing into the path he's drawing across my skin as his thumb brushes my cheek. I exhale at the contact, a small part of me wondering what's eased him so. He's more nervous about his place in my life than I can understand; he's everything--powerful, attractive, caring in a silent way. And he's the one who keeps leaving earlier in the morning and disappearing until he comes back to me late at night.

I thought that the conversation we had after my pregnancy, the guarantee he gave me in a place by his side, we'd see each other more. But he's been so absent I can't help but feel that maybe he's starting to regret it. After all, he's talked so much of forever, of our family...and yet he brings up marriage only when it's convenient--

The firm squeeze against my jaw steals all of my thoughts. He tilts my head upwards, leaning so close to me that I can feel his breath on my against my skin. "You are mine in all ways."

Warmth spreads through me, more powerful than my nerves. And yet I can't loose myself in him the way my body yearns to. You are mine in all ways. His control is more absolute than anything. That's never bothered me before, never made me doubt...Why does it feel tainted now? Is it my hormones? Or--it's the way he's changed.

He notices, because he notices everything about me. "Something troubling you more than the trouble you're already in?"

The question isn't concern--it's an attempt to have all of my attention again. I tilt my head down as much as the grip on his hand will allow. "Yours in all ways, when you're not mine?" My voice comes out softer than I'd like, but at least the words are out. "I know what you're doing is important, but there's just so many people around you. All powerful and important and I..." My hand settles over my stomach, too aware of how permanent the situation I'm in us. "I'm just going to get bigger...and bigger...and more draining to be around, and you'll always have an excuse to disappear."

Aleksander frowns, face shifting from angry to something soft. It doesn't last. He lips tilt upwards, a malicious smile playing at his lips. "Dove, was this all a cry for attention?" An artificial sweetness poisons the air between us. He tilts my head upwards even more, forcing me to stare at him. "Foolish, foolish girl. You need me, don't you?" He pauses, looking at me like I'm something to be pitied. It might be the look behind his eyes or my tiredness, but I nod. "I stop doting on you for a moment so that I can prepare for our future--the future of our baby--and you manage to forget that you've captured every part of me--the good and the bad." Something in me eases at the reassurance. They're just words, and I know how little that means to him, but they help. "Trust me this once, and I will spend eternity proving you right for it."

I exhale, absorbing the tenderness he briefly offers. "I do." He's watching me carefully. "I will--I just think I'm hormonal, or something."

He hums once, pulling me even closer to him. "That's all you have to say?" Aleksander's breath is warm against already flushed skin. "You know I've been particularly patient given what you're doing for me, but you know what you did. You felt like i was losing my care for you, and so you decided to anger me--and now you'll have to deal with that." I feel myself frown. "Don't pout--you brought this onto yourself." He sighs. "Open." I know better than to push any further. My lips part on instinct. He maneuvers his hand so that he can press his thumb into my mouth. "Close." I shut my mouth, letting the tip of my tongue graze the pad of his finger. He pulls his hand away with no warning, letting a thin trail of saliva connecting his thumb and my bottom lip. "Good girl, I knew you still knew how to behave."

"I didn't--"

"Don't speak," he warns, voice dangerous again. "Are you already forgetting you're mine? that i own you, body and soul--is my child growing in you not enough of a reminder? because i'll give you another one if you need it."

I inhale sharply, nerves pulsing through me once again. My silence seems to appease him, because Aleksander closes the distance between us. The hunger in him is clear, the kiss consuming everything as he walks us back, forcing me against a wall. He pulls away much too soon and yet much too fast. I'm panting, my lips are swollen, and yet all I want is more. "Aleksander--"

"How naive could you be, thinking I'd want you less like this...my baby, our child in you?" I swallow, nerves pooling in my stomach. "How could you think I'd want you less when the evidence of the fact that I fucked a baby into you is impossible to hide? When it becomes impossible to deny that you are mine and I am yours?"

His hand tangles itself into the root of my hair, when he pulls on it I can't fight the noise that escapes me. His lips are against my jaw, moving down my neck at a pace that's unbearable. He continues like this until all of me is burning for him and I no longer have the energy to attempt to suppress the moans leaving my lips. Aleksander lifts his head, a hint of something genuine coloring his smile. His lips press against mine again. I loose myself in his lips, the feel of them, his warmth, the way he knows where to brush his tongue. His pace is agonizing. Something in me snaps, I reach forward in a lust-filled haze, pulling at his clothes.

"Aleksander."

His hand leaves my neck in favor of gripping my wrist. He then straightens entirely, moving me off of him with a graceful ease. "Oh, Dove, you didn't think I'd be able to give you what you want after the way you've behaved today."

No. No. He's not implying what I think he is, he couldn't be this cruel to me...this upset. "I'll never do it again." He tsks once, shaking his head at my desperation. "I'm sorry, I truly am...and I'd be happy to show you how apologetic--"

He cuts me off my squeezing the apple of my cheek. "As amusing and fulfilling as it would be to watch you try to seduce me, it'd do me no well to spoil you now, especially when I have a meeting."

"Please--"

He takes my hand, tenderly pressing his lips against the back of my palm, over and over again until I am lost to the sensation. My breath hitches. "Consider this the first part of your lesson on patience." A pathetic, practically teary moan escapes me. He flips my palm in his hands before taking my middle and index finger into his mouth. The sensation and the way he's looking at me is so erotic my head is left spinning. He pulls my fingers away from his parted lips slowly, letting his tongue slide the length of them. "And no touching yourself--I will be checking when I return."

He can't leave my like this. Desperate and needy and likely without release for hours. "Aleks, please--"

"The more you beg, the more I know you need this." The cold way he releases my arm leaves my eyes stinging. He turns as if nothing has happened, leaving before I can think of anything worth saying.
