Dredd lore, setting & characters are just enough of a hoot that the likely scads of readers who took/take the Judges' rampant caricature-grade authoritarianism at face value kinda eats at me. I know the writers weren't drinking cop kool-aid, but damn do I wish more people Got It.

If it helps, it's a problem they've been dealing with literally since Dredd started. And there's some people who either will never get it, or who will stick their fingers in their ears and go "La la la I don't care death of the author la la la the judges make too much sense in their setting la la la I am very smart" or something dumb like that.

It's why I really appreciate Rebellion putting out that I AM THE LAW book by Michael Molcher, 'cause on top of being a great book it feels almost like an official statement, the owners and editors of the character drawing a line in the sand and making it abundantly clear which side they're on.

Because I can handle fifty thousand dumb assholes who think Dredd is an unquestioned hero doing what's best and that we should have judges in the real world, but I don't want a single one of those motherfuckers actually writing Dredd. Not one.

Girls want books where the guy falls harder. Guys want books where the girl fall harder.

I’m still not over the fact that post-production color graded the plaid in Will’s shirt to match Mike’s in several of their more one-on-one scenes?

Like. Of all the things that make absolutely no mf sense if I’m meant to believe they’re unrequited, this has to be top 3. There is literally not one. single. reason. for that if they are not meant to be endgame.

Looking at the bloopers versus the final edit…it’s clear Will’s shirt is a different shade of blue—until they edited the colors to match more exactly & show Byler as more connected. And it’s not just in this scene either: the stripes in Will’s shirt were clearly changed from their original cornflower blue to more match Mike’s jacket in the van scene as well:

Like?! Unless the coloring department went rogue…this is easily some of the most damning “blue meets yellow in the west” as-done-in-post evidence of all to me lmao

A very common answer, but how they treat service workers and especially how they talk about them when they aren't in earshot. Also how they treat animals.

🎧 Headphones or earbuds?

Both?? I have a set of headphones that I use when I'm on my laptop, and I love them cause they have noise cancelling, and it's great, but I also have a pair of wireless earbuds (the ones that connect with a cord behind your neck) and those I use when I'm walking around campus and stuff.

🧸 Favorite place to nap?

Honestly, the floor, particularly in a burrito blanket. That's really the only place I nap. But the true best place to nap is anywhere with a cat on your lap. I sweat having a cat on your lap is the best sedative in the world. Bonus if there's sun shining on you.

☕ Coffee or tea?

Neither. I can't stand any kind of warm drink. I can only drink things when they're ice-cold, but the only kind of drink I can stand to put ice in is water, or else it gets watered down and gross. (Just autism things, <3)
