Your phone alarm rings under your pillow, disturbing your nice sleep. Moving to reach your phone, you feel all types of warmth and comfort. The soft pillow cases, the new sheets, the heaviness of the duvet.. but wait, there's something else heavy..

your phantom thief boyfriend is good at what he does but GOD, he really stresses you out sometimes. how you got roped into helping steal people’s hearts with him, you had no idea really. he had come along one day and stolen your heart in a way that was out of the ordinary for his line of work. he didn’t need to change your ways, not at all. you were already perfect in his eyes in every way possible. he stole your affection, would be the better word for it. you had stolen his in return, making him your boyfriend.

the police of the area had been on high alert for months now, and one small mistake set them off and chasing after you and alban. you tried your best to keep out of the public eye, but with flashy outfits that had glowing elements to them, that wasn’t the easiest thing. you resorted to jumping from building to building, rooftop to rooftop. sure, it was dangerous as all hell, but some part of you had never felt this way before.

out of pure adrenaline, you could barely breathe. yet somehow, your heart lived on in the moment as if you had just been reborn, hand in hand with alban as the both of you. flew up and down staircases of crowded buildings and to rooftops. the city’s neon lights were nearly blinding but god, you wouldn’t have it any other way. your heart felt as if it was about to beat out of your chest as the neon lights of the city pierced not only through the night sky but your vision. you were cornered on top of a building. alban stood closest to the edge of the building with you in his arms, face buried into his chest out of fear. he giggled and jumped backwards off the roof.

you stared at him with wide eyes as time seemed to slow. even now, you couldn’t help but admire how attractive he really was. he was on the smaller side, but you were even smaller. his hair was a light brown and tousled with two cat ear shaped clips that would glow orange. one of his eyes was black, while the other was a bright like green. he smirked at you, a silent reassurance that neither of you would die here. pure terror made your body rigid as he held you even tighter the closer you got to the ground. you had jumped off a large skyscraper into the night and bright lights. before you could hit the ground, someone or something caught alban and, by extension, you.

he had used the wire on his coat that was reminiscent of a cat’s tail to latch onto nearby scaffolding and keep you from hitting the ground too hard. even after the fear you experienced left tears pricking at your eyes, he still smiled. a small, goofy smile as the two of you continued to race into the night, hand in hand.
