I read the book for the first time before watching Season 1 back in summer 2019, and they both kinda changed my life. Got me through a lot of the garbage days to come in the following years. Also, the first time I’ve ever drawn characters kissing! My interest has cooled down a bit since then - time, other distractions, the panini, etc. - but I do still care about this story very much, along with many of Neil’s other fantastic tales. I’m sure I’ll get to Season 2 eventually, but, for now, this is more than enough for me.

Don't mind the fact that I can't draw his face well yet. I'll get there, hopefully. I need to learn how tf to draw beards and I need to practice drawing curly hair and also relearn everything about art because it feels like my ability has evolved backwards significantly.

Also, on a more fun note, Im rediscovering my love for this one specific slightly canvas-textured rectangular brush (from the free Habook Canvas brush pack, can recommend if you use procreate)

“Gender?” he asked tonelessly.

“No,” Muriel said. “Thank you,” they added, because Being Polite is part of being human. That’s what Maggie said. Miss Nina had made a funny sound with her nose then, but she hadn’t said Maggie was wrong, so Muriel would continue Being Polite.

They had read about gender, and it seemed very interesting, but they didn’t want to try it just yet. Maybe once they’d asked Mr Crowley what to do with it.

“Gender?” The man behind the counter asked again.

Muriel frowned. Had he not heard them? Was this part of the process, choosing a gender? They hadn’t expected to have to choose so soon.
