somehow. but i mean those are different? compared to those turrets they arent as uhahaha.. "advanced" yknow?? theyre like half as "persony" you could say. so one and a half people, which is three, cubes.
and at manufacturing two of the things fall off could be the turrets, or the cubes uh, just dont look to hard into it- so how many passengers do we have?? um. none. no passengers! because theres no buses or roads or anything in aperture...

(undertale yellow spoilers kinda but not really)  The squeakquel! More low effort doodles in the name of ghist and shiggles! The first doodle is essentially a "what if the ketsukanes celebrated Halloween and what they would dress up as if they did". Chujin is dressed as Ben 10 because this "chujin is obsessed with Ben 10"  headcannon has taken a severe toll on my sanity. Kanako is dressed up as Wubzzy because for whatever reason I headcannon that she loves the shit out of wowowubzzy and forces Chujin and Ceroba to watch it with her in the mornings, don't ask me why, idk either lol!...and ceroba is dressed as reimu from touhou because obvious reference is obvious:) next doodle after is my take on a joke a lot of people have been making cuz I like JJk and UTY so why not lol>:D. The axis drawing is based on this image ive seen going around and I just had to draw it when I saw it. The one after is based on those hilarious bald edits that people started with flowey and I'm now bringing along bald chujin cuz I like chujin and drawing the martlet was fun. the next drawing is too small for me to see so I have no idea what I drew;). and the last one is just a little scenario I came up with of the funky bots trying to play MKDD with guardener cuz why not lol.
play undertale yellow or YOULL be the next one going bald- https://gamejolt.com/games/UndertaleYellow/136925

Immediate swing around to a character that’s far less obscure and also technically existed when I was last active in the fandom, though I never drew her back then (I doodled everyone in the LoLK cast at least once except for her and Clownpiece). Anyway, I’ve been fascinated with the fact that she purified herself into being nothing more than her grudge so much that almost her entire identity was wiped away, so I wanted to draw her covering her face with a fan with a kitsune on it (used a couple ukiyo-e as reference for drawing that), looked up Chinese fans to make sure I was thinking of the right thing (this kind is called tuanshan), and found out they were historically used in a wedding tradition (queshan) where the bride covers her face with a fan and then reveals it at the end, so I was like. Well, that’s appropriate given that Junko is the Touhou character most likely to have been married at some point, so it all worked out nicely. But then I figured I should probably draw her face anyway, if only to practice giving Touhou characters faces that fit my style and aren’t all the same, and went a bit silly with it lol(k)

Doujin anon here, i think i was confused about what "Doujin" means since i had presumed it had just meant "fan manga" for awhile. While thats technically true partially, upon looking at the definition again it could also apply into other mediums as well. Does this mean all of those mspa fanadventures technically count as doujinshi or no? Idk, i didn't even know the proper terminology of the word for awhile correct me if im wrong I'm not savvy with Japanese terms. Like the other anon said, i was one of those people who didn't know what Japanese people meant by "cp" like i knew it didn't have any relation to you know what, but due to the language barrier i couldn't figure it out on my own. Ex: rkgk means sketch right? should probably look into a guide about the Japanese abbreviations and definitions for this stuff.
In a way, yes. Doujin itself means a group of people who share a hobby or interest. It's their word for fandom. Not to be confused with circle, which means a group of people (or even an individual person itself), selling doujin works as a team. Though not all Japanese people on places like Pixiv tag fanarts, as doujin 同人 when they upload it. Doujin also refers to works that started out as original comics, games, and more sold in Comiket that soon became professional works. Things like Touhou or Higurashi started out as an original game that was sold in Comiket, blew up in popularity as time went on. You can even think doujin games sold at Comiket like the ones mentioned here, as indie games. RKGK is the abbreviation for rakugaki, which means doodle or scribble in Japanese. Japanese artists tag this when they drew the art as said doodle or scribble to pass the time that it's not considered as art pieces to them. Most of the time though, I think said doodles make a great art piece alone. If you try telling them that, they get embarrassed and try to be humble. But please give them praises to let them know they are amazing! I don't blame you on the language barrier thing. Eastern fandom culture is different from the Western. When Japan does consume Western media, they take it as it is, a fictional media work. Compared to Western, who would think works from the past that were made in its time period, is problematic and should never be brought up again. Japan would know about the dark histories for some, but they also believe the intent for similar themes or topics that would be shown for upcoming or future works, is not out of maliciousness most of the time. The past is past and they would rather move on. With some exceptions based on country's personal history, but that's a whole other can of worms. The Japanese fandom also tend to be only exclusive to themselves. The relation between Eastern and Western fandom were not on good terms back then due to things like people reuploading Pixiv art and putting Nico Nico Douga videos on sites like YouTube, without permission. They even have applications for private community groups to make sure the person they are speaking to is Japanese and not some Western using a translator to sneak in and do things like download MMD models before releasing them back into public. Recently, Pixiv states that whatever country you are in, some content will not be shown there, to comply with other country's laws such as Europe's. Sites like Twitter/X already are banning stuff that's fine in Japan in order to follow Western standards. It's why sites like Misskey state that Japanese customs and beliefs towards certain media is different from America and Europe. If these bad communications and censorship keep going on, it won't be long until Japan finally decides all their works will only be Japanese exclusive and isolate themselves again. To the point they might even see if Western users are might be using VPNs to sneak in and block them. We really got to acknowledge the different fandom customs and cultures in various countries and languages. A Spanish community fandom will be different from something in English speaking ones. Not all groups have dark intentions. Only speak up if a person or group starts to get harmed because of it. And I don't mean like getting offended over a drawing someone stumbled upon by accident. I mean like someone harming themselves or anything truly legal involved.

seeing some of the new designs you made for yuzuki and co im curious as to what your design process is? especially in terms of how you approach it in terms of folklore, i know it can be tricky to put that into words but seeing them made me wonder!
AAA I'm so glad I get to talk about my designs... I don't always know what I'm doing with those but I know enough to answer your questions!
All in all, I would define my approach in designing them in terms of folklore and mythology as similar as to how Touhou does it. I like to say I aim to integrate sufficient references to the Monster/Youkai/Legendary Creature's lore but also sprinkle in my own interpretations when I feel like it's possible AND also put the character's personality on the foreground when designing. It's all about balance and what makes sense for the character. For example, Naoko's design is more "urban" in its approach because of her personality, but I still snuck in some "that's-a-stretch" type references with her scarf being loosely based on the bakeneko's towel. Meanwhile, Akira's design has little to no proper references to Kitsune to underline how she wants little to nothing to do with Kitsunes themselves.
There was a time where I could just churn out written designs on the get go, but nowadays I think this is no longer something I think I can do because, you see, I learned how to draw and to think like a character designer. An amateur one, sure, but I feel like this process is the direction I want to go.
So I think my design process nowadays is as follow:
Define character concept. In my process, the character's personality and story is the very first step of the process. There are cases where the design comes first and then the story, but all in all, the story is what dictates the character.
Research about the elements that are part of the character's design. Not only the folklore surrounding the monster I am basing the MagiMon on, but also the pop-culture perception of that monster. It's always useful to know how it is perceived. In general, I know that whatever type of take i want to have on a certain myth, I know I want to go in a direction that I like, so it's good for me to know what I like and what I hate (This is especially the case for Greek Mythology characters, especially the Olympians)
BRAINSTORM! The most/least fun part and the one where it varies from character to character. Some characters have their designs outlined from the getgo, others take a big while for my brain to figure out something. But in general, I go on google image, pinterest or just browse books I have to build a visual library. Build a moodboard and whatnot!
Recently, I found that the best way for me to properly envision a new character is to mentally faceclaim the character with the closest character there is. For example, Vera, the Pegasus MagiMon (that I have yet to design), I picture her as just Platinum. That gives me a mold that i can just reshape in the future.
I also think that I want to find one thing that makes the character stands out from the rest. The most easy part is with the head: a good tip I have received is to have a very specific head silhouette for the character so that they can be recognized from a glance in a crowd. Akira's spiky hair, Gashadokuro's hood, Naoko's pulled hair, Hikaru's one side front bangs. Yuzuki's simple shape also distinguishes her from the rest since she's the protagonist.
This step also depends on how solidified my character's design is, but I sometimes doodle the character or parts of the character either with a loose brush or on kraft paper. To test the grounds.
And next... Well if i have the courage... I draw them! And then I color them. I usually decide on colors on the go, so I don't know if I have any tips to give related to that. I try to follow my gut feeling and go on a "if it fits, it's fine by me" philosophy.
I hope I answered your question! If not you can still ask me for precisions and I'll gladly answer them. Character designs are my passion and discussing that is such a pleasure no matter what!
As a last note, my favourite character designs, and what i usually turn to when i'm in a pinch: Arknights, Touhou Project, Guilty Gear (Strive especially) and Dungeon Meshi. Akihiko Yoshida's art is also a good source of inspiration of mine. Theree's many more but i don't want to make it any longer.

Here's a fun one: How about Pengel from Magic Pengel and Graffiti Kingdom?
Tumblr media
Your Pengel has a Ryu Number of 3.
(explanation below)
ZUN of Touhou Project fame worked as a programmer for Taito from 1998 to 2007, and is in fact credited under his legal name as a battle programmer for Magic Pengel, which was released in March of 2002. In August of that same year, he would go on to release the sixth Touhou game and first of the series' Windows Era, Embodiment of Scarlet Devil, a.k.a. arguably the Touhou game. So in a sense, Reimu's cameo as a bonus boss Doodle in Magic Pengel predates Touhou's boom in popularity.
Tumblr media
Granted, she's never referred to as Reimu, and the Doodle in question is cheekily named "Zul" in the localization, but on top of ZUN being namedropped as her creator in both the original and the localization, in the original releases of both Magic Pengel and Graffiti Kingdom she's named "ハクレイのミコ" ("Hakurei no Miko"), which is phonetically similar to "博麗の巫女" (lit. "Hakurei's shrine maiden"), which is Reimu's occupation in Touhou. (Graffiti Kingdom's localization, incidentally, names her card "Flying Maiden".) With all that in mind, I'm considering her appearances in both Magic Pengel and Graffiti Kingdom valid.
