Something I do admire about Amanda and todays 2T1L really drove home is that like. At least part of the reason she's so disconnected from online shit is because she's just too busy being outside doing shit. Like drunkenly stealing pineapples. Partying. And having 3 million jobs. Living her life. etc. She really was "outside talking to trees" and thats why she didn't know who Harambe was.

My Obsession For A Reason
I’ve yet to come across a picture of this man and not save it.
I’ve never seen someone as beautiful as him.
However he’s more than just a pretty face and idol body.
I’m 'obsessed' with him, but I don’t really ‘want him’, I want the best for him.
I want to see him happy in song, happy in dance, happy on stage, happy eating, happy with friends, happy with fans.
I want him to have his peace, protection and privacy.
I want him to have his space and his freedom.
I want him to only hear ‘how can we help you’ and never ‘you can never.’
I want to understand him on the level he feels comfortable with and never make him feel uncomfortable.
I respect him as a public figure and a private person
As a human he’s not always gonna be happy, is gonna make mistakes, is not going to please everyone, will have had misunderstandings, anger, tears etc.
However to know what we do of him, he listens, he learns, he tries to be better and do better. No one that’s spoken of him can ever say he’s not the most selfless person they know, the most emotionally intelligent, the kindest. No one that has spoken of him can deny he gives his all to his friends, his members and his fans.
He does what he can both in private and public for his hometown and his country, to children, schools and foreign aid.
I love him deeply, as unique and talented artist and a perfectly imperfect human striving to make himself and what he can around him better.
If I only ever have all that he’s given to his fans and supporters I’m still content.

So I was rewatching the scene where New tries to make Phee point his gun at Tee and shoot, thinking about Phee's fantasy reenactment (to Jin) of New erotically hypnotizing Top into murder mode, and how much New is very clearly trying to do that to Phee in that moment. It fails and it flops, Phee is visibly not power-of-influenced at all and New's response afterwards ("I knew it! This proves you never loved my brother!" lmao), suggests he almost didn't even expect it to work. But now I have this idea that it's a regular thing between them: Phee doubts Phee questions Phee wavers, and New puts his hands directly on his face and stares into his eyes and murmurs "revenge, baby, remember? They've gotta pay" with the air of like a snake charmer or someone soothing their flighty chihuahua. I just think that's very sexy.
Also when he blows the hallucinogen DIRECTLY in Phee's face ahaha, he wants everyone in the room to get poisoned but he's like "here are some murder drugs especially for you, my traitorous harlot" + it parallels Phee blowing antidote in his face to save him from his breakdown, and TeeWhite's romantic shotgunning...

#i guess they have a circular relationship because also going on lots of first dates was really trial by fire for me in learning lots lf#new social skills#meeting new people was never my strong suit and i was very afraid of it and would avoid it but like!#when i first tried going on first dates i learned a lot about how to meet people and met types of queer people i'd never met before#and actually it was good for me even though it was often weird and stressful#and it was a lower-stakes way to practice social skills that i otherwise would've just avoided using until they atrophied#anyway whenever i see a dating profile that's like 'i'm afraid of talking to women lol' i'm like ok relatable but what's your plan to learn#i think also just like it doesn't have to be through dating but it is good for you to meet other gay and trans people offline if possible#when i moved to wisconsin i only knew my coworkers who were mostly also twentysomethings who'd been hired straight from college#and it was good for me to meet and make friends with other local gay and trans people who were involved in different stuff#idk i just don't know how many more 'i'm obsessed with romance but scoff at the idea that i should do anything about that' posts i can read#like if i said i wanted to run a marathon but i never practiced running people would fairly be like okay that's prob not gonna happen#idk i know it's no skin off my nose i'm just like. if you never take any steps towards expressing your desires#how do you think they're going to just happen to you#personal nonsense
