👻Studio Ghibli Halloween Sketchdumps!👻

Heya, all my rose petals!

Here is the Halloween sketchdump of the Studio Ghibli characters I decided to do!

Here is the list of the sketchdumps!:

1. - San coming across with a pumpkin she never seen before. The princess picked it up, giving it a quick look, thinking to herself of what she will do with it. Quite interesting, isn't it? <3 (her hair was absolutely not the best to color, but the brown I had to mix in ^^;)

2. - Turnip-Head (The Prince before the events of Howl's Moving Castle) visiting the cemetery, where all skeletons would rise in the night (and maybe this scarecrow could do some skeleton dance, if the skeleton could rise from the grave XD).

3. - No-Face with a bunch of candy, maybe to give to the trick-or-treaters as long as he doesn't try to hurt or eat them, that is <3

4.- The Tree Spirit encountering a carved pumpkin of it's face as the inside lit up, leaving a little spirit into a deep curiosity. (I am terribly sorry about the false colors for the spirit's eyes, nose and mouth aughhhh)

5.- The Soot Sprites decided to play dress up for Halloween after working hard with the coals. And so one soot sprite decided to dress up as a ghost, and boy, did it scare the two soot sprites? x3

6.- Another No-Face with candy again for the trick-or-treaters, kind and sweet enough to give to the children instead of eating them :3

I know the Studio Ghibli hasn't had the type of Halloween stuff, but however, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle makes me think of spirits, witches (forgot about them in the sketchdumps, maybe another Halloween artwork with them sometime?) scary moments and darkness (and monsters and creatures, even) x3 (Princess Mononoke was violent when I first watched it, but still good ^^;). Howl's Moving Castle makes me think of a scarecrow like Turnip-Head, making me think of scarecrows every Fall and/or Halloween season ^w^, so I decided to add him in ^^

I drew these since days of starting the Halloween drawings, as trying to save my sketchbook like this for more fanfic illustrations and more sketchdumps (trying to limit sketchdumps as I can to try to draw more fanfic illustrations), so I was quite finished yesterday. Ever since after watching Princess Mononoke Monday, and Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle today, this artwork and coming in! :D!!! I think I need some more Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino for this holiday ^^ Yay!!!

I'ma be busy, busy, BUSY with a lot of Halloween fan stuff! I might plan on watching Demon Slayer this weekend when it makes me think of demons during Halloween, so this holiday is probably good for Demon Slayer since interested into watching that anime soon ;3 as of trying to watch more Tim Burton movies and other Halloween movies and do more fanarts of them ^^

Also, my first part of my Halloween fanfic will be displayed Saturday, so keep a really good eye on that, along being on Wattpad, too ;3

The Kaonashi

Sometimes known as ‘No Face,’ The Kaonashi is a denizen of the spirit realm possessing tremendous and destructive powers. It devours other spirits and can absorb their emotions into his own soul, causing him to take on their attitudes, especially negative ones.

When The Kaonashi happened upon the lost human girl, Chihiro, he followed her around, attracted by her feelings of loss. Chihiro had been made a servant at the spirit bathhouse and when she inadvertently offended Kaonashi, the dark spirit went on a destructive rampage.

He ended up trashing much of the bathhouse, consuming everything and thus transforming into a massive inky blob. He only stopped after Chihiro offered him a dumpling which caused The Kaonashi to regurgitate everything he had eaten. With all of the gluttonous, greedy, and wrathful influences out of his system, he returned to a docile, calm state, showing remorse for his actions. He followed Chihiro to the good witch Zeniba's house.

When Chihiro prepares to leave, Zeniba requests that The Kaonashi stay with her as a helper and stay away from the negative influences of the Bathhouse that could set him off again. The spirit agrees, and stays with her as a humble and kind servant.

Though he never truly speaks, his moans and coos were performed by Akio Nakamura in the Japanese version, and Bob Bergen in the English dub version. No Face The Kaonashi appears in the 2001 animated feature, Spirited Away.

Pondering Ghosts are Dragons, and just rotating each design in my head I have for them. That is the ghosts we see in the show more than just once or twice lol. Just pondering each of them and potential types and descriptions and how the people of Amity see them, as they’re used to the dragons around, vs say someone from Outside, crossover or no, who are Not used to the maybe slightly eldritch undeath interdimensional dragons around everywhere.

That is not normal for other people.

To the Amity Parkers? Boxy is simply a chonky dragon with small boxy wings and covered in blue scales. To people just coming into the city, it’s like seeing a giant komodo dragon when you’re just walking home- not something you exactly want to see and something that is dangerous.

Kitty’s and Johnny’s weekly relationship tussle? Par for the course really. But to visitors? Two giant wyverns tearing into each other, shimmering greens that could be scales, could be tendrils, and shadows lengthening and thrashing like a living beast all its own.

And this is just the small dragonlings, not even beginning with larger ones like Pandora and Fright Knight, chill as they may be.

Outsiders don’t understand that they’re more than just animals. Amity is used to this, but people who have no clue what’s going on? They don’t.

They call the police, the heroes, the government, for help, for answers. And that? That the GIW can use.
