While I think The Mirror Visitor quartet would make a really good TV series I also think it would be instantly bad if they cast a hot actor as Thorn.

Hear me out. This book is like fantasy pride and prejudice. Thorn isn't hot. What makes him hot is the way he changes and learns and you peel away his cold outer layers to learn he really cares about the people around him. He's hated by everyone, Ophelia hates him when she meets him, her family hates him, the only good part about him is always his usefulness (rich and of a good ranking in court to Ophelia's family and good at his job for people at the pole). If he was super pretty it just wouldn't work!! Pretty privilege is real and this boy does NOT have it. We gotta learn to like him just like Ophelia did.

I do not find this to be an efficient way to absorb information. I am bored and distracted by the time the largely unnecessary introduction is over. I can't use ctrl+f to find the specific information I'm looking for. If there are instructions to follow, I don't want to have to constantly pause and back up to the part I need.
