I see Autistic/ADHD Lloyd headcanons all the time, but none for his parents which is weird because both ADHD and Autism are genetic. So lets fix that, and during Autism Awareness month no less, yay, #RedInstead bitches!

Autistic Garmadon and ADHD Misako Headcanons (for Autism Month!)

Misako hate is not welcome, we don't do that here, you will be blocked. Autistic Misako headcanons are welcome, I love you if you have that headcanon :). I'm autistic and adhd, so a lot of these will be based on my experience, and I'll try to keep it mostly fluff headcanons, featuring a little bit of Lloyd's autism and adhd <3

Autistic Garmadon

He and Lloyd share a lot of the same autistic traits

Like how if you distrupt the routine or there's a change in established plans both of them will start getting anxious and irritated

You don't distrupt the routine! Stick to the schedule damn it-

Or how both of them CANNOT stand bright lights, never turn on the overhead light, lamps and low lights only. and only predictable/controlled loud noises like music is ok, other loud noises bad

Also they both auditory stim ALL the time. Same song on repeat for days until the new favorite comes along, and they have the same taste in music (rock and punk), so while working on stuff or training one on one they'll blast the same song on repeat

Also both of them are hyperempathetic and get emotional very easily. Hence why they're a lot more emotional and open around each other

Also the Pathological Demand Avoidance is VERY STRONG with both of them. tell them to do something and they'll immediately dread and despite that thing and that thing is the last thing they want to do. (i.e. *is about to go do the dishes* "Hey can you do the dishes?" ... "I was about to. Even wanted to. Now I hate them and that's the last thing I want to do. Thanks for that. Fuck you.")

Both of them also have a very hard time unmasking (for different but similar reasons of how their childhood was), and get exhausted and burnt out fast. Luckily being around each other helps them unmask a bit easier

Garmadon loves Mac-n-Cheese, he'd eat just that for the rest of his life if he could. But only Misako's recipe, all other Mac-n-Cheese tastes WRONG (Lloyd also loves Mac-n-Cheese, but only his mom's recipe)

Sometimes he straight up forgets to talk. Like, he doesn't need to, he doesn't like talking to people, and he just... forgets that he has the ability to talk. So sometimes he might go a while without talking, thinking nothing of it. Then he'll vocal stim or use his voice and shock himself a little because oh shit i forgot i have a voice-

He hid it for a while because he thought it was embarrassing, but he has a huge special interest in sharks, and he is the number one shark defender, he could talk about them for hours (his favorite species is the Lemon Shark and Cookiecutter Shark <3).

^After he starts unmasking a bit he starting being a bit more open about it as well, and that year for his birthday Misako gets him a shark onsie. He just about melts, immediately puts it on, and wears it almost every night. (She thinks its adorable)

For a really long time, he thought the things he was experiencing were a side effect of being part dragon/oni, but then Wu told him "I don't experience any of that, sorry." and then he thought it was a side effect of the venom, but then after the Final Battle it was gone AND HE WAS STILL EXPERIENCING ALL THESE TRAITS, so he couldn't figure out wtf was wrong with him

^Misako was like "Idk sounds normal to me *shrug*" (She has ADHD, of course it sounds normal to her XD)

Lloyd knew he was autistic and adhd for a while because of the other ninja, who were also varying neurodivergencies. When he told his parents about it, they both didn't think anything of it because they didn't know it was genetic yet.

Then Garmadon found out it was genetic and was like "No... me? No way... I'm just an anxious introvert, there's no way."

Then he takes like ten different online assessment tests, and is like "Yeah, i knew it, i knew i wasn't autistic, those questions were worded dumb anyway. No I don't have a problem with socks, you see I have a system-"

And then Lloyd (who connected the dots once he found out autism was genetic) was like, "Dad... Dad... that- that is autistic... having a system for socks to avoid having problems with socks, avoiding places with loud noises and bright lights, and prefering to be by yourself or in silence is very autistic..."

Garmadon: "WHAT"

They figured out how to unmask and fuction as their authentic selves together and it's awesome

ADHD Misako

Similarly, she and Lloyd share a lot of ADHD traits

Like fidgeting, A LOT, always needing extra stimulation and needing to fidget. Usually with nail biting or lip chewing, until they learn less self destructive stims

They also hyperfixate in the same way. Both of them will get lost in the hyperfixation for hours, forgetting to eat, drink or sleep. until they try to stand up or someone reminds them. (Lloyd hyperfixates on comics the same way she hyperfixates on archeology)

Both of them have the worst sense of time and object perception. ("Oh yeah that project will only take fifteen minutes" *takes four hours*) (*losing track of important items and forgetting to eat ro drink water all the time*)

Rejection sensitive dysphoria is very strong for both of them, constantly worrying about annoying other people and being a burden, so they're people pleasers a lot and the slightest whiff of rejection sends them into a self hate spiral that can last for days or weeks (It took a very long time for her to get out of the self hate spiral after her and Lloyd meeting for the first time and him blowing up at her, which she thought she deserved for her huge mistake that she deeply regretted. Eventually they talked and Lloyd came to her and said she shouldn't hate herself forever, he wanted her to be his mom, and she could make up for it now. She still gets into that spiral sometimes.)

Also both of them zone out a lot. Sometimes many thoughts. Sometimes zero thoughts. Staring into space (they love car rides for this reason)

Both of them can be very all or nothing in a lot of things. No social interaction or all the social interaction. Doesn't talk at all or can't shut up. Constantly overshooting it.

Also due to the lack of object perception, both of them are kind of terrible at driving. They can't tell how far away the signs are until they're right in front of it, and are always taking turns that are way too big. Over or underestimating distance a lot. (Garmadon is a pretty terrible driver too, he gets overwhelmed easily). (Also Kai and Nya can confirm that teaching Lloyd to drive was a nightmare, Zane had to do it)

Always hyperfixating on something archeology/history related, she's a huge nerd and cycles through ten different topics (she was a weird kid that liked the morbid stuff in history). Usually dinosaurs, she's secretly obsessed with dinosaurs and hyperfixates on them all over again every other week. A lot of the time Garmadon has to remind her to eat or sleep because she'll be lost in hyperfixation for several hours.

Also has a lot of anxiety and has a hard time sitting still, always has to be moving or fidgeting with something in her hands

Similar to Garmadon, she didn't think anything of it when Lloyd told her he had ADHD, and when she found out it was genetic she thought, "No, it couldn't be me, I just have anxiety..."

She was in denial about it for a while, until Lloyd talked to her with Kai and Jay (Also ADHDers).

Kai asked, "Your teachers sent a lot of notes home about you being 'a pleasure to have in class' weren't you?"

Misako: "How the fuck did you know?"

Kai: "That was me before I had to drop out. I was the perfect little teacher's pet. So was Nya."

Misako sat there for a minute having a crisis because everything made sense now but also like no way, really?

She and Garmadon love talking about prehistoric sharks like the Megladon because that's where their interests intersect

^he also gets her dinosaur encyclopedias every year for her birthday and she loves it (they have diagrams of skeletons and fossils and stuff)

train of events + my constant thoughts of lego led to:

ninjago characters in a dodgeball game

of COURSE powers and spinjitzu are allowed. who do you think they are

except for cole. cole is not allowed to use his super strength to throw anything because it will put a hole through something or someone

that being said, tiny tiny earthquakes to throw someone off balance is not off the table

definitely targets jay

you already know kai and jay are competitive as fuck. both in the game and in screaming bloody murder the loudest

i think they would both use some elemental power to charge up the throw, like that short where they’re chopping bricks (i forgot the name lmao)

jay WHIPS the ball like no one else (cause lightning 😎) AND plus the lightning charge up?? bros out for blood

little bit of a sore loser but he forgets about it pretty quickly

kai is such a sore loser let’s be honest now

but if he wins he’s holding it above the others forever

i think he’s got shit aim lmao

in fights he’s so used to making a big ass blast of fire and shooting it in the general direction he doesn’t need to aim

that being said he definitely torches the dodgeballs midair

regardless of if they’re about to hit him or not

zane however has scarily accurate aim, being a nindroid and all

he always hits them on the shoulder

he’s not above freezing the floor and making them slip. you would think he is, but he’s not.

mfs got strategies and scenarios planned out and everything

he is here to WIN

lloyd “it’s just a game guys, lets just have fun” garmadon and lloyd “i will hold a grudge against the person who got me out for the rest of my life” garmadon are ideas that could and absolutely do coexist

i think he’s a bad thrower. like he CAN throw, he’s just not as good as the rest of them

gets people out by catching the ball more than actually hitting them (he’s got practice with catching HANDS)

nya absolutely decimates them

goes easy on jay and is out for kai’s head

jay SAYS he was going easy on her, and in return she nails him in the stomach with a ball

jay is no longer going easy on her

she’s just as much of a sore loser as kai is

wu and garmadon would play something like dodgeball when they were younger

it mostly involved chucking whatever they could find at each other at random times

garmadon called it training. wu called it being childish and petty

catch him throwing cans straight at garmadons head just to hear the hollow “tonk” sound (if they had cans back then lmao)

so there’s really no way to declare a winner

garmadon says he won though

if morro was alive and/or with the ninja he is here to WIN. nothing less.

if he’s still a ghost then he couldn’t really participate

he’s kinda salty about it cause he knows he would absolutely destroy them

at least that’s what he says

if he was alive tho

fucking jukes everyone. breaking ankles left and right

i like to think he’s agile and fast as hell cause wind and everything

contrary to popular belief he doesn’t use the wind to block anything thrown at him

the point of dodgeball is to dodge. if he gets hit, then it’s his failure and incompetence

THROWING with the wind however,, he’s only playing to his strengths, that’s all

he and lloyd definitely target each other. whoever wins, it’s a matter of pride on both sides

I like to headcanon that Garmadon always felt more like an oni then a human and because of that he wanted to learn more about onis' culture.

It also goes with the idea of not only Mystake but all onis that chaced after FSM stayed in Ninjago and lived there like regular people.

Garmadon just accidentally found out that Mystake is an oni and well... He started to walk after her almost everywhere, wanting knowlage. At first she considered to get ride of him by unaliving him, but later on she noticed that he's harmless.

So she presented him to other onis, taught his how to shapeshift and do other cool oni's things. Also taught him about their culture, religiosity (onis' having their own gods is just muah idea), everything.

And Garmadon was glad to be an accepted part of something, of the little clan that this onis made.

He attended their celebrations against FSM's will, but Mystake was like "shut it, he's one of us" and just took him with her.

Also another small headcanon, onis are great warriors and even greater parents and I will hold onto this like on my food durring my midnight snack.

Ninjago Movie headcanons

Pt. 6

🌿Lloyd🌿

-PRECIOUS BBY

-Had hella long hair when he was younger

-Hated that era of him and always finds an excuse to bolt if someone brings it up

-Actually knows how to play the ukulele

-Always kept it secret from everyone though until Zane found him practicing once

-He thought everyone would judge him but instead they thought it was so cool and requested a bunch of songs

-Is secretly rlly touch starved but would never admit it

-He may deny it to his grave but he once fell asleep in his moms arms when she hugged him

-His birthday is September 22 cause that’s when the ninjago movie was released :D

-Also huge cat person

-Likes to feed stray cats after school and overall just has a huge soft spot for them

-trans dude 🤯

-Was actually very open about being trans when he’s the green ninja, he revealed it in a interview he had with the ninjago news station

-Garmadon may hated him but he would and still would not hesitate one bit to shoot any of his generals out of the volcano at full speed if they misgendered him

-He may be the worse guy ever but he’s not going to be transphobic

-Once got caught by Wu wearing one of his outfits

-Surprisingly he wasn’t mad and just laughed and said “Seems your already getting ready to be a master huh?”

-Sometimes vents to his mech about his problems when they’re really bothering him, it even sometimes nods it’s head unintentionally

-(perhaps his mech is alot smarter and aware then he originally thinks-)/hsrs

-His eyes are very sensitive to light bc their green and lighter than other ppls eyes

-Knows how to do a really good villain laugh, he got it from his father

-Is the master of Halloween with that laugh

-Also surprisingly good with little kids

-Sometimes if he has some time on his hands he’ll just randomly come to a kids birthday party as the green ninja, he ofc wasn’t invited but the parents don’t mind

-After Garmadon had stopped his evil ways, Lloyd didn’t know how to bond with him other than like how a 6 year old would

-For example whenever Garmadon would take him home after a night of adventure, he would just pretend to be asleep in the car (or mech) just so that his dad could carry him inside.

-Always feels like he has to be serious but his friends always manage to bring out his little kid side

-Also knows how to speak Japanese fluently

-Garmadon tried to mess with him once by talking in Japanese and was flabbergasted when he spoke Japanese back

-Also knows how to make gremlin noises

-Overall very silly guy much love to him he’s my favorite

Finally starting my Ninjago ethnicity headcanon era.

So starting with Jay…guys hear me out. I headcanon him as Korean/American. 🇰🇷🇺🇸(As far as I can in the Ninjago world). American because his father (biological) has so much American vibes and it’d make sense why he left him with another couple of Americans. The Korean hc is simply based on the fact that yesterday I was watching Ninjago in different languages and Korean fit Jay an illegal amount?? The language is just him. I dont know why but it makes sense to me. I dont know how the Korean logistics will work with his biological parents that are so white BUT i will make it work!!!!!! Because it fits him too well!!!!!! But I think he lost most of his Korean since he was raised with English (or Ninjargon) his whole life. In terms of other languages, just like most American families, I feel like Ed and Edna might raise him with some degree of Spanish classes and he got really good at it! But once he figures out he’s adopted and who his real parents are, he wants to learn Korean again too.

With Cole, i’m not going to veer far from the fanon canon and hc him as Puerto Rican/Korean. 🇵🇷🇰🇷 Lilly was Puerto Rican and spoke to him in Spanish until she died, and his dad spoke in Korean to him. Cole lost most of his Spanish after she died and is upset about it, so he and Jay help eachother out! He helps Jay with his Korean and Jay helps him with his Spanish.

Kai and Nya are Filipino/Japanese. 🇵🇭🇯🇵Thats a common hc that I absolutely agree with. They are very Japanese coded despite the occasional Chinese references and clothing choices, and I think both Tagalog and Japanese suit them as languages! They mostly speak Japanese, especially since thats what Lloyd is as well, but they try to keep up their Tagalog between them two.

Zane is Italian, 🇮🇹 or however Italian a nindroid can be. Mostly because Julien’s accent sounded very Italian to me, so in honor of him I think that Zane is the same :).

Lloyd is always a doozy, mostly because of the whole Oni and FSM and whatever Garmadon is thing. But, personally, I think he’s French/Japanese. 🇫🇷🇯🇵. I know Misako isnt a very white name, but she acts so white and I think her being French suits her. It also explains where Lloyd’s blonde hair came from (maybe her parents!) because both she and Garmadon were dark haired. Lloyd knows French because of her but refuses to speak it because he is so bitter about her leaving him and being the worst mom in history. So he just speaks Japanese and whatever the Ninjago universal language is (Ninjargon? Idk)

But yeah! My hcs! Its very hard because Ninjago has its own world and languages but this is Earthified Ninja I guess. Here are some corresponding doodles with this. Im hoping to make a digital version with sexuality and other hcs for them too!

Lloyd only trusts Nya with his hair, because when he first joined the ninja, they chopped off like, half his bangs, Nya was unaware of this fact till' dinner time, when a crying kid Lloyd started blowing his nose on her dress going "THEY RUINED MY HAIIIR D:"

In s9 when they reunited, Kai squeezed the shit out of Lloyd in a brotherly hug. Nya punched Kai's arm to join the hug, and he obliged. Nya realized neither Lloyd nor Kai had showered in over a week, and tried to leave but they hugged her WAYYYY tighter.

Nya used to read all sorts of stories to Lloyd when he was a kid. It was mostly old scrolls, but her FAVORITE story to tell him was "The Story of Creation", which was a very skewed version of the Oni/Dragon lore.

When Nya was younger, Kai would tell Nya about the "Bog Oni", an oni that was melted in half by the Toxic Bogs and throws misbehaving children into the Bogs, to try replenish its other half. She was scared shitless and thoroughly believed it until she mentioned it to one of her village friends and they told her she was being lied to. She was 13 when she realized this

She pulled the same trick on Lloyd, and he believed her until he asked Wu about it like, post-s9.

If you offer Lloyd candy, his dragon tail will wag like CRAZY and he'll stomp his foot, and he'll do anything for the candy. Best way to get free manual labor! get yr younger bro to wash all the socks by offering him twizzlers!

Lloyd x Reader HCS/Mini-Fic at the end

[Meeting]

Before meeting Lloyd, you were pretty good friends with Kai and Nya. Scratch that— you were practically siblings.

Growing up, you'd always try to help them. Whether that be lending them extra food, or giving them your old, but clean clothes.

So of course they had to introduce you to the gang! I mean, why wouldn't they? It took them a few years from fear of you getting hurt, but they eventually came around.

When they took you over, you were nervous, but excited! I mean, they're the ninja, how cool is that?

As for how they reacted.. well..

Cole and Zane seemed pretty fine with you, and Cole actually tried to get to know you better at first. You're besties now.

Zane just kinda minded his business at first, not in a rude way he just kinda.. minded his business politely. He eventually talked to you more often though.

Jay was a little suspicious of you first, but brushed it off since you were Nya's friend.

Sensei wu was pleased to find that they had other friends apart from their little group.

Pixal tried to scour the internet for more information on you (to see whether or not you're a threat,) only to find just.. really dumb videos you posted of you and the Smith siblings goofing around.

She trusts you after that.

As for Lloyd, he was like Jay, a little suspicious of you. Y'know, trust issues and all.

If you were to have met him before SoG, he'd hesitantly brush it off and talk to you sometimes.

If you were to have met him after SoG, however.. He'd be incredibly cautious of you. Like, to the point where if you're hanging out with the gang, he'd give you a "if-you-try-anything-i-will-murder-you" stare. Yeah.. yikes.

Either way, it definitely wasn't love at first sight. He's the type of person to get to know someone first before 'falling' for them.

Eventually, he warmed up to you more and more. And then.. uh oh.

[Pining]

Day by day, he gets this weird urge to just.. be around you.

He doesn't know why, he just does.

If this is before SoG, he'll be a little touchy and smile more often when you're around. It's so obvious that the others are surprised you still haven't noticed.

If this was after SoG, he'd still be the same, although he becomes more reserved the more he realizes his feelings for you. He does get touchy, yes, but not as much as he normally would've.

He's still scared of commitment since the whole Harumi thing.

Before SoG: Incredibly sweet, it's almost sickening.

After SoG: Still sweet, although more reserved. like... longing stares and just getting blushy when you hug him, stuff like that.

He doesn't know how to flirt, his idea of flirting is just complimenting them.

"Hey! I like what you did with your hair!"

"Really? Thanks. :)"

So you can imagine how frustrated he is when his "advances" don't work

Eventually turns to Kai and Nya for advice.

"DUDE WHAT?? YOU HAVE A CRUSH ON THEM-"

"SHH KAI NOT SO LOUD-"

Kai literally has no idea what to do to win someone over.

So he instead ops for Nya, since she's in a relationship and all that jazz.

"You like them? Well.. have you tried just being honest?"

"Nya! I can't just.. do that!"

"Why not? The worst they'll do is say no. If you think they're going to hate you, they won't. Trust me, I literally grew up with them."

With a sigh, he eventually took Nya's advice and just went for it.

It took him weeks just to try and build up the courage to ask you out. The guy might look like the most confident dude you'll ever meet, but he's only a teenager after all. There's gotta be some insecurity in him somehow.

[THE CONFESSION]

Today was the day. Damn it, he's nervous but he'll do it! He's been hyping himself up for weeks, no way he can back down now. He already told Kai and Nya about it, and since Kai can't really keep his mouth shut, he ended up telling everyone except for you.

The crew has been teasing him about it relentlessly for about a week and half now. "Lloyd's got a crus-!" "Jay please shut up."

And now he's finally got you alone. Just you and him, in the living room. Okay.. he can do this. He takes a step forward.

Anxiety immediately struck him. Gah! What was he thinking?? Just give up alr– no no, you have to, or else you're going to regret it later.

With a deep breath, he gathered up more courage. "..you just gunna stand there?" You playfully tease, not knowing the weight of his situation. He felt his heart drop to his stomach. "U-uh.. no no! I'll come in."

"Are you okay? You look nervous. Did something happen?" You asked, a little concerned for him. "No!... well..." he rubs the back of his neck.

"There is something i've been meaning to tell you." You've never seen him this serious and nervous before. "What's on your mind?" "Well.. I.. uh.."

You sit patiently, waiting for his response. He mumbles something incomprehensible. "Uh, sorry? I didn't catch that." You gently asked, as he again mumbled it.

"..I can't hear you, sorry.. you don't have to tell me if you don't want to!" You say, trying to save the situation. "I like you, okay?! And-and not just as a friend. I.. I like you in a romantic way." He blurts out. "I..! I mean..!" He turns away from you.

Your face turns so pink, you almost didn't notice the tears forming in his eyes. But when you did, you tried your best to communicate that you felt the same way.

You grab his hand as he was about to leave, "Hey! Wait-! I like you too!" You quickly say. "I.." you sigh, "I really do like you, Lloyd. Infact, i've liked you for months now. I love the way you carry yourself, I love how even in the darkest of moments, you still manage to get yourself together." You keep going, lowering your head as for him to not see your flushed cheeks.

His eyes light up, "I love your smile, your–" you say, being interrupted with a kiss on the forehead. "Alright alright, that's enough. You're going to make me all red." You look up and sure enough, he's almost as red as a tomato. Well, with that kiss he placed, even if it was just on the forehead, certainly made you shut up.

"I think it's time i ask you properly." He holds your hands near him.

"Will you be my lover, [name]?" He looks at you, eyes soft as cotton and a smile sweet as honey.

"Of course." You both smile, sharing an embrace. "Oh and by the way, you owe me a real kiss next time!" He chuckles, "Yeah yeah, i know. But let's move slowly, okay?" He let's go and locks his hand with yours.

"Okay." You respond gladly, leaning your head against his shoulder.

You honestly never thought this would ever happen, But.. you're happy you two are finally together.

Bonus:

Jay, Nya and Kai were peeking around the door trying to see what happened. And since they're all nosy, they wanted to know what was going on aswell.

"So? What happened?" Cole quietly asked, "Well Lloyd's confessing... DUDE! they're blushing!" "Shh! Okay... Oh my god Lloyd planted a kiss—" "ON THE MOUTH?!" "SHHH! They're going to hear us!" They whisper yelled, "As i was saying, Lloyd planted a kiss on their forehead!" Nya exclaims, causing everyone to gasp lightly, except for zane and pixal.

"They both seem to be a perfect fit together, I don't know why you are all surprised." Zane says, nonchalantly. "Yes, I do agree with Zane. Besides, we all knew how he looked at them on that day. It was obvious." Pixal agrees, a soft smile on her lips.

"Oh man! Now i'm the only single one!" Kai whisper-yells, jokingly irritated. "Cole doesn't have a spouse either, though?" Zane exclaims. "Yeah well that's because he's Cole." "Yeah, and i'm not really interested in a partner right now."

"Guys, I think we should stop spying on them, they're about to leave." Nya says, alerting them. "Oh crap! Right! I'll see you later guys!"

The rest of the gang say their goodbyes aswell, although the topic of you and Lloyd's relationship was still incredibly relevant to the crew, and the media.

You swear, you couldn't go two tweets without someone mentioning you guys' relationship. Although it was weirdly.. well recieved, for some reason? You expected there to be more backlash but, almost everyone was supportive!

Sure there were a couple bad apples here and there, but it was generally well recieved! Although you couldn't care less about what the media says.

You're happy with him and that's all that matters right now.

Hc that Jay once said something along the lines of 'everyone needs an emotional support stuffie' As like a half joke or something and pixal takes it 100% serious and asks the others why they dont have any.

Well long story short pixel and jay team up on a mission to get the others stuffed animals (jay is mostly doing it both for the lols and so they can't tease him about me.cuddlywhump)

So after several failed attempts of convincing the gang to go to build a bear because according to kai and wu 'blah blah too expensive and unnessesary bleh bleh' Jay comes up with the great idea to ask his mom!

So Edna makes the ninja (and also Wu, Misako and Garmadon "as a thank you and so they don't feel left out") stuffed animals

I'll go into more detail about what everyone got in the morning cuz its midnight but 2 very important things.

1. Even tho Kai was the most adement about not needing one he definitely becomes the most attached to his

2. Wu didn't wanna name his so now its forcibly been named 'Amber Huggie Reese's Piece's Kandi Dewdrop the Turtle' by the ninja ...yeah garmadon and misako very quickly named theirs after watching that go down lmao
