As a disabled artist who has chronic pain which greatly impacts their ability to make art, I understand the conversation around AI art and its connection to disability and disabled artists and related work is complicated.
However.
Nowhere in that conversation should it be ignored that Generative AI (not AI art tools) utilizes Plagiarism in their core builds.
Plagiarism.
AI can in fact be used to make art more accessible, but Generative AI itself is merely plagiarism software. It steals from creators, doesn’t credit them, doesn’t ask for permissions or consent, does not provide royalties or otherwise pay the artists for their work, and so on.
I don’t think I should have to explain how plagiarism is not the route we disabled artists should be following in the name of increasing accessibility.

Since some people don’t seem to know a goddamn thing about us aromantic folks, I figured I’d maybe put together a lil thingamabob based on AUREA’s 2020 Census.
Per most queer censuses, topics concerning violence, sexual violence, conversion therapy, various forms of abuse, and more.
Firstly, we’re a diverse people. I’d love for people to see and understand that.
We have trouble coming out of the closet just like any other queer person. Less than 13% of us are fully out about being aromantic. Even when we can tell some people about our romantic orientation, many people in our lives are still genuinely dangerous to come out to.
We experience erasure, conversion therapy, violence meant to “cure” and “fix” us, are suibaited, are kicked out by our parents, discriminated against by medical professionals, called insane for our orientation, are harassed at work for being queer.
We experience many kinds of attraction which may or may not lead to us loving people, even if that form of love is different, presents differently, or is otherwise not amatonormative.

I feel like drivers have progressively gotten worse at driving near me. And like, I don’t just mean seeing someone driving too fast or failing to park properly.
What I’m talking about is stuff like, someone today was waiting at a red light and very suddenly, with me two steps away from being in front of their vehicle, they hit the gas and got halfway into a four way intersection. Yesterday, I watched a driver so intent on parallel parking in a too small spot that they were backing into a car and pushing it out of the way. Someone else the day before was purposefully backing up onto the sidewalk and nearly reversed into a signpost and two pedestrians in the process. They weren’t even parking! They were turning around in a one way.
Like, I nearly got hit by a car today but that’s nearly happened so many times that my response was vague annoyance and a text that reads “I’m fine, just annoying drivers.” It was novel only because the car was speeding up rather than slowing down. Which! I just. Novel? Guh.
