never thought maitake could hold a candle to byler but My God it really does. they’ve been bound from the beginning, tied by shinichiro’s choice to give a brave kid the power of time and it led to takemichi being the only one who could lift the curse of love achieved through violence that was placed on mikey. he spent so long trying to fix the timeline and save everyone, save the girl he was in love with, only to throw all of it away when he realized mikey didn’t get to be happy in that version of life. life was perfect, but takemichi was mikey’s link to life as he finally let go and asked for help. he finally asked someone to help him get rid of that darkness that clouded him and takemichi literally sacrificed everything and tore time apart just so he could save mikey. only to die in his arms after the curse was finally lifted. their chance at life was ripped from them by death again, but mikey’s tears sent both of them back and they were given a new chance where everyone could be okay. them and their friends, finally getting to be at peace because they found each other and refused to let go. i literally cannot explain how much reading their story has me losing my mind im tearing my hair out screaming crying throwing up
