i hear the 911/911 lone star crossover is good so here i am! binging more of this damn franchise !!
for starters this was emotionally devastating thanks— tk and owen are gonna singlehandedly fix all the parental trauma this series endured at the hands of the buckleys and hans. owen strand is one emotionally secure man and i am DIGGING it.

season 4 of leverage is so. some of the most MOST episodes of all time. there is an office episode where the crew is literally filmed like an episode of the office. there’s an episode where a sociopathic white rich boy tortures homeless people for some college thesis project. hardison gets knocked out by sophie. “no one throws hardison off the roof except me.” archie comes back. chaos also comes back. chaos gets tasered (fuckign finally). parker makes everyone cry because she yells about wanting to do the right thing. nate and sophie think they’re being subtle about their funny friends with benefits relationship but the shenanigans happen. “YOU RECRUITED MY WIFE?” “EX-WIFE” parker reveals she has successfully kept a normal friend and everyone is so proud of her. hardison ate eliot’s fuckign sandwich. nate “i love foreplay” ford.

idk if this is a trope or whatever but i love it so much when fictional characters massively downplay the severity of their injuries but in more of a comedic way than a tragic one. like some guy gets impaled and they just glance down at the shard of metal sticking out of them and say some dumb bullshit like "oh man. that's gonna need some ice." and then pass out while all their friends yell at them for being an unfunny idiot with terrible priorities.

I put myself through the shooting again to see what I missed and here's what I came out with (IT'S A LOT):
Jesus Christ the way Eddie looks at Buck immediately
That shot of them just staring at each other before Eddie falls
The way Buck just stands there, completely frozen, doesn't even try to protect himself
HE ABSOLUTELY DOES REACH FOR HIM. HE REACHES FOR BUCK BEFORE HE PASSES OUT
Buck crawling to him and saying "Stay down, I'm gonna come, I got you."
"Hey just...just stay with me, okay?"
Eddie's first and only question is "are you hurt?" to Buck...brothers I am in shambles
Buck like actively cupping Eddie's face and saying "I need you to hang on."
The way Buck almost like collapses when a firefighter bumps into him...
Also INSANE that his first thought on seeing Taylor is "no comment" YIKES!!!
God Oliver Stark...I am in awe of you always
You can tell Buck is trying SO HARD to keep it together for Chris. Like he doesn't want to make things harder on him but it's like everything hits him all at once and he just can't keep it in because telling Chris makes it real. And makes him think that he should have been the one that got shot
"He's a fighter" while wiping away his tears...oh my love
Him breaking down is a relief cry, he drops his phone and just collapses in on himself out of relief
"It's gonna be okay, Buck." I just...love Chris and Buck so much. I love them so so much.
All the tubes sticking out of Eddie I'm sick to my stomach
And Buck takes such effortlessly good care of Christopher, of course Eddie would make him his guardian
"Buck snores...loud." Chris my king
"I'm fine. I'm not the one who got shot." Well it's clear you wish you were babe and that freaks me out!!
It's so interesting the way the rest of the crew doesn't even seem to...clock that Buck isn't just being reckless. Like he's actively trying to die. Daring the sniper to take him out
The fact that Taylor just leaves, playing into every insecurity he has but he doesn't even TRY to fight her leaving when he sees Ana calling...I have nothing to say to this it writes itself
"He doing okay?" "Better than me." BYE!!!
When Buck says it would have been better if he had gotten shot you can tell Eddie is like...stunned at what he said, but he IS recovering from a, oh that's right, major gunshot wound, so it's not like he can say anything about it.
Okay sorry the comparison between Buck telling Eddie "I'm here. I got you." and Athena telling Bobby THE SAME THING after he got shot???????
"Because Evan." I think it's the only time I've heard Eddie use his given name. It means something when he does. In this case "you aren't disposable you bonehead. Not to Chris. Not to me."
Genuinely insane experience. 10/10 would recommend

So I wrote a little something loosely based on this post I made about Eddie subconsciously associating his future wedding as being with Buck- I haven't written for ages but I thought if I was gonna make it into a fic I'd also have an accidental drunk confession to Buck in there- and this is that. If I ever wrote a whole fic of this there'd be no cheating so dw dw
"It must be nice," Buck says from the floor, "Marr-Marriaging, -having a wedding. I want that, I'd want-"
"I know what you want," Eddie laughs confidently from the empty tub. It feels very zen, lying here with his legs hooked over the circular tub, like lying inside a big cereal bowl. He is so drunk, and giddy and totally at peace with everything, "You want a spring wedding because you want a frankly ridiculous amount of flowers. You want it far enough away from the city that you can see the stars at night, but not so far that it'd cost too much for everyone to travel there. You like the idea of releasing lanterns but you're worried about the environment so you'd probably want - like- doves or butterflies instead-"
"Butterflies," Buck says from the floor, his voice thick, "Eddie, what-"
"M'not finished," Eddie continues with the gravitas of someone so hammered they cant feel their legs but who is nevertheless making an Important Point, "Butterflies, then. You want a light coloured suit, something that breathes well because you'll worry about sweating. Bobby would be doing the ceremony, so maybe Athena to walk you down the aisle? And of course Maddie as your best man. Woman. Person."
"… Maddie?"
"Well yeah," Eddie shrugs, transfixed by how the ceiling seems to be slowly tilting to the side, "Because Chris would be mine, and that way they can both be involved."
There's a frantic shuffling noise from the floor, and Buck's voice is much clearer when he speaks again, "Eddie. Eddie are you talking about- me and you getting married?"
"Who else?" And in his alcohol-soaked state, it's as simple as that- who else. God knows he's tried to fit other people into that role and they just never fit right because the void in his life is so decisively Buck-shaped. Haha, God knows, his chest begins to shake with silent laughter, it's funny, right? Because of the Catholicism.
"And that's-" Buck sounds kind of upset, which makes Eddie pause, why would Buck be upset when there's good booze and the ceiling is tilting and they're getting married? "That's something you want- the-the spring wedding and the butterflies and the-"
Oh, Buck's simply misunderstood, that's easy.
"I just wanna be the guy standing next to you."
