Artist Biography
Katy L Edgar, or “Kite,” is a 19-year-old artist from Portsoy, a small coastal town on the north coast of Scotland. She studies Contemporary Art Practice at Nescol. This young, ever-growing artist strives to create art that can influence how people see our planet and how we, as a society, can make our planet thrive as we do.
Being an artist is in Edgar’s blood, as her Grandfather, Uncle, and Great-aunt were all self-proclaimed artists in their own right. Since the passing of her uncle and grandparents, Edgar’s passion for art has all been for them, to make them proud beyond the grave.
Kite is very much into creating “Political Art," which can start conversations about political topics and social issues. However, her heart lies in creating artwork that appreciates the world’s nature and how lucky we are as a society to be gifted with such a beautiful and natural home.

I tried pressing flowers to see if I could use the detail of the veins in the petals in any of my designs. They made a very delicate patters when used with paints however, I ended up deciding on my design before the flowers were fully dried.

Due to the Data Protection Act being updated; stricter rules have been put in place at the I.T. HelpZone when it comes to requesting a password reset where everyone has to have a form of photographic I.D.
These include Passports, Driving Licences, Bus Passes, Student Cards, etc.
If any form of I.D. is not shown by the student requesting a password reset then they will be asked to come back when they can supply photographic evidence that they are the holder of the account in question.

My name is Jordan Arthur Scott, I am 19 years old. I attend a Contemporary Art (HND) course.
I am always creating and enjoy pushing my abilities to the limit. I am always looking to improve my process and general quality of my art. I am introverted and prefer to work individually but I do always listen to other people’s advice and make sure to apply it. I find it quite hard to initially speak to people around me but once I’ve found my bearings, I can easily communicate with the people around me. I work at my best around like-minded people in an open environment.
In my spare time I enjoy drawing, painting, playing guitar, looking into fashion and listening to music. My sense of style is something very important to me and I enjoy wearing very extravagant and androgynous clothing. I love alternative 80s/90s fashion and take heavy inspiration from Brian Molko and Nicky Wire. I have always been interested in art and have used it as therapy throughout all my life. I have always struggled with my identity, and I have used creating to express myself when I could not explicitly in my personal life. Creating art has really helped me to come to terms with being a gay and transgender man.
I left school in 2019 when I had completed S5. I spent most of my time at school in the art department and made sure to take full advantage of the materials and guidance of my art teachers. I left in S5 because I needed change and wanted to pursue something I was really interested in. I believed that I wanted to go into music and started attending an HND at Nescol but soon decided that it was not for me. My qualifications I gained in school are listed below.
National 5                                       Highers
Music – A                                        Music – B
English – A                                      Art - C
Art – B                                             English - C
Maths – B
History – C
Just before Covid 19 hit, I decided to get back into creating art and put all my time into it. I mostly focused on creating flash sheets as I gained an interest in tattooing. After getting my first tattoo, I fell in love with the idea of becoming a tattoo artist. I applied to become an apprentice at a tattoo shop to work part time and managed to get the position. Unfortunately, Covid hit, and we got put into lockdown before I could start, and I ended up missing out on the experience as we were in and out of lockdown. I kept creating throughout lockdown to manage all the free time I had and decided to apply for a college course to develop my art and gain more confidence.
Most of my art focuses on issues such as identity and many of my pieces are self-portraits. I have always struggled with my mental health, and I’ve always used creating as escapism. I paint self-portraits to help with my sense of identity and to give myself a solid idea of what I look like. I tend to use strange colour combinations for skin tones. I use a mix of greens/blues and magentas on the skin to create a sense of unease and to give the paintings more visual interest. I experimented with watercolours, and I was partially inspired by the tones that Jenny Saville uses in her works. It turned out effective and I decided to incorporate it into most of my art. I enjoy painting portraits of people I look up to but try incorporating my own elements into the pictures to create a unique piece. I usually add some form of unconventional materials into my pieces such as newspaper, stitching wool into the background or creating poetry. Here are some examples of my art.

Panama Papers

Convicted thieves of Pakistan: Top: Disgraced Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif, Now Sheltered By The “Roots of All evils UK.” Left: Hussain Nawaz, Middle: Mariam Safdar and Right: Hassan Nawaz
Tumblr media
Controversy has long engulfed Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s family, including three of his four children – Mariam, Hasan and Hussain – over their riches from a network of businesses that include steel, sugar and paper mills and extensive international property holdings. At various times, depending on the political party in power, the Sharifs – one of Pakistan’s richest families – have been accused of corruption, ownership of illegal assets, tax avoidance and money laundering. Mariam, Hussain and their father have been detained on such charges, exiled to Saudi Arabia and also acquitted. When allegations first surfaced in 2000, a family member called them "completely wrong," and declared: "This is a very religious family." Hasan, who moved to London over 16 years ago, and Hussain have been running family businesses from abroad. Mariam reportedly is being groomed to take over leadership of her father’s political party.
IN THE DATA
Three children of former Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif – Mariam, Hasan and Hussain– were owners or had the right to authorize transactions for several companies. Daughter Mariam Safdar was the owner of British Virgin Islands-based firms Nielsen Enterprises Limited and Nescoll Limited, incorporated in 1994 and 1993. Sharif's first term as prime minister ended in 1993. The companies owned "a UK property each for use by the family" of the companies' owners. Hussain and Mariam signed a document dated June 2007 that was part of a series of transactions in which Deutsche Bank Geneva lent up to $13.8 million to Nescoll, Nielsen and another company, with their London properties as collateral. In July 2014, the two companies were transferred to another agent. Mossack Fonseca knew that Mariam Safdar was Nawaz Sharif's daughter, a "Politically Exposed Person," and committed to checking her activities twice a year beginning in July 2012. Hasan Nawaz Sharif was the sole director of Hangon Property Holdings Limited incorporated in the British Virgin Islands in February 2007. The Liberia-based firm Cascon Holdings Establishment Limited was a shareholder of Hangon. Later in the year, Cascon transferred shares in Hangon Property Holdings Limited to Hasan Nawaz Sharif for about $11.2 million. Mossack Fonseca resigned as agent for Hangon because Hasan Nawaz Sharif was a "Politically Exposed Person."

My final logo for Blooming Gorgeous mock florists. I choose this as its simple and can be read easily. My target market for my florists is higher end functions and gifts. The two typefaces I used Fine Style and The Only Exception are very different, Fine style being much more sophisiticated for high class target market and The Only Exception being softer relating to the flow of flowers and petals.

NAB orders immediate sale of Nawaz Sharif's properties
Tumblr media
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has ordered the immediate sale of properties belonging to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and has issued a letter to the concerned deputy commissioners in this regard.
In the letter, Director-General of NAB's Lahore office, Shahzad Saleem, stated that for the first time in the country's history, the decision to recover fines from a former prime minister has been implemented.
The country's accountability watchdog maintained that it had initiated proceedings to recover an £8 million fine — equivalent to Rs1.85 billion — from Nawaz in the Avenfield apartments case. Aside from the imposition of fines, in July 2018, an accountability court had sentenced Nawaz to ten years of imprisonment.
In the letter, the deputy commissioners have been apprised of all the details of Nawaz Sharif's saleable properties, including bungalows situated at Lahore's Upper Mall Road and agricultural lands in Sheikhupura and other areas.
The proceeds from the sale of properties would be used for the development of the country, the letter said, adding that if the full amount of the fine is not recovered, a search for further assets of the convict will be carried out.
In 2016, the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists released leaked documents of Mossack Fonseca, a private law firm based in Panama, which disclosed details of offshore companies incorporated under the laws of the British Virgin Islands.
Per the documents, Nawaz Sharif owned two offshore companies, namely, Nescoll Limited and Nielson Enterprises Limited. These companies bought apartments no. 16, 16 A, 17 and 17 A, in Avenfield House, Park Lane, London, in 1993, 1995, and 1996.
NAB claims that the apartments were purchased by Nawaz and his children through “corrupt, dishonest or illegal means" because in 1993 Sharif’s children had no source of income.
"The father is a natural guardian of his children, thus the stance taken by the accused [Sharif] that the children were dependents of their grandfather could not be substantiated," the Bureau was quoted as saying in an IHC judgement.
NAB had also accused Maryam Nawaz Sharif of producing bogus trust deeds, dated 2006, which were also signed by her husband retired Captain Safdar as a witness. As a result, an accountability court convicted Sharif to 10 years in jail, Maryam to seven, and Captain Safdar to one year in jail.
Later, a judgment by the Islamabad High Court, written by Justice Athar Minallah, suspended the sentences of all three accused.

Some poster concepts for 71 Brewing under development.
Our aim is to create simple and clean posters with typographical elements and inclusion of the logo. Bold statements to create engagement with consumers and encourage them to try the lager for themselves (which we highly recommend!).
Finals to be created after our meeting with 71 Brewing on Monday afternoon.
