where do you find stuff for your collages? they're really cool

hi! i apologize for the late response, i went to my grandparents'

the vast majority of my collage stuff ive gotten from etsy stationery "grab bags" which are usually random assorted papers (other keywords you can use are like "scrapbooking" and "junk journaling"). i also look for "oops grab bags" where etsy stops that sell, like, sticker sheets sell misprinted sheets at a discount

i can recommend specific etsy shops i've bought from before if you're interested! but other than that, ive also gotten stuff from junk stores, consignment stores, and the clearance rack at Micheal's

OH i also get free magazines in the mail from the USPS since i buy stamps from them online occasionally and they're always good for cutting pictures out of, so if you're in the US and you want cheap/free magazines with nice pictures, the USPS philately magazine is a good one

um other than that you can also try collaging with junk mail! you can also probably ask your local library if they've got like. old newspapers or magazines they don't mind parting with

It's Fish Feeding Friday and bloodworm are on the menu!

Here are some clips of me feeding my fish bloodworm to see their different reactions.

It's actually the first time some of these fish have been given bloodworm so I wasn't sure how they would react.

My neon tetras usually eat more of the bloodworm before they get to the substrate but they didn't seem too interested today.

As usual, my corydoras were on the bloodworm as soon as they touched the substrate as they are their favorite food.

Bloodworm are also my betta's favorite food too so she ate hers within seconds of it being in the tank.

My guppies just do guppy things and get excited as soon as any type of food is added to their tank but the large size of some of these bloodworm did make it difficult for some of the guppies to eat them.

Here's something to take your mind off of stinky stuff: there's an environmental center at the college I go to and it has a tank of horseshoe crabs. One of them molted a while ago and it is huggeeee. Yesterday, during the eclipse, they were all slamming into the sides of the tank, probably because the eclipse was messing with their moon cycle behavior and making them think it was time to go to the shore. Today they were in a perfect circle. Who knows what tomorrow will bring.

OH THAT'S WONDERFUL INFORMATION TO RECEIVE!!! the eclipse stuff especially that sounds so interesting. my university's biology faculty has an itty bitty aquarium so no way we can have this sort of stuff (it's mostly just glofish, neontetras and snails) but we do keep a lot of preserved critters on the second floor, a horseshoe crab included! i think it was a gift by a student? i would love to hold it in my hands
