🐻 of course i really love negan! i hope this fits what you had in mind

🧣 carer!negan headcanons

🏏 negan is definitely going to spoil his regressor at any given opportunity. when he leads the sanctuary, his regressor has their own nursery and all the best toys they can get

🏏 the best pasta dishes for dinner! negan is a very good cook (of the pasta variety...)

🏏 when theyre on the road for whatever reason, or camping/hiding out somewhere, negan will use his jacket as a makeshift blanket for his baby

🏏 he likes the carer nicknames daddy and papa, but he thinks over the top and silly nicknames like mr snookums are hilarious and they put the biggest smile on his face

🏏 he is very understanding and patient with his baby, something he doesnt often reward the other people in his life. he is always there to listen and help talk out any problems his baby is having

🏏 if his regressor is a little older, he loves to play games with them. in a non zombie au or with access to electricity and consoles, he will play video games (he hates going easy on people, but he will just for his baby... mostly to avoid tantrums, but also to make them happy)

🏏 it would be funny if in an au where they all get along and live comfortably, rick, daryl and negan have some sort of caregiver alliance/dads group going on. negan 100% brags the most about his baby and always has a dozen photos of them on hand

cg! negan x boy regressor! reader- comfort

Today has been an exhausting day, with you undergoing arduous combat training. It's not easy being the youngest among all the saviors, many underestimated you and others supported you. But one thing was certain, everyone admired your courage, even though you were young.

It wasn't every mission that you were allowed to go on, which is why this training was so heavy, so that you could soon go on missions. Sweat, dirt and wounds took over your body. You fell and broke one of the guns Negan had given you.

Negan had you as his favorite kid, so if he knew you'd broken one of his guns, he'd be furious. You run to your room before Negan arrives. In your haste, you put the broken gun on your bed. You are now just a scared little boy.

Panicked, tears begin to stream down your face and hard footsteps are heard outside, it's Negan. He knocks on your door, calling you.

"Hey, kid, you in there?"- He asks, with his charismatic tone, but one that could hide a great deal of violence.

Despair takes over your body, you don't know what to do, but the best thing to do is answer.

"You can come in"- You answer shakily.

You crouch beside the bed, Negan enters your room with Lucille leaning on his shoulder.

"My boy!- Boy?"- Negan asked

He finds you curled up crying, he doesn't understand what's happened, he knew you were a regressor, but he had no idea how you regressed.

"Little punk, what happened? You're not such an cry baby"- Negan said

"Sorry... I'm sorry Negan!"- You kept repeating

"Sorry for what? Kid, tell me, what happened? You crying like that makes me worried, it wasn't anyone from the sanctuary, was it?"- Negan was confused, but wanted to understand what was going on.

"I broke the gun you gave me..."- Your voice was getting thinner and thinner, still shaking, with his face tucked between his legs.

"Is that why you're like this? Ahh little man, I wouldn't be mad at you for that, guns break all the time, we can fix this one"- Negan said, looking at you all shrunken.

For a few minutes, everything was silent, but Negan was still there, making sure you were calm. It took a while, but you finally calmed down.

"Hey kid, don't be like that, it was just a gun, well, I can't say much, if it was Lucille I'd be like that too. But relax, we'll fix it. By the way, you're having a regression, aren't you?"- Negan said, looking into his eyes, with a tenderness never seen before in his eyes.

"I think so"- You say, your voice thin and tearful.

"I'm not the best at dealing with children, but I can help you, little boy"- Negan said.

For the first time, you don't tense up around Negan, he's being so gentle that it makes you feel comfortable. He wasn't taunting you or saying double entendres, he was like a figure of safety.

With a little suspicion, you look at him, he's genuinely concerned about you. He wants your best, not just yours, but that of all the saviors

"Hey little one, come here, I can't see you like this without supporting you"- Negan says, as he takes you on his lap. Immediately the warmth emitted by Negan becomes comfortable, and you lean your head on the older man's shoulder.

For a while, Negan nuzzles you in the middle of the room, speaking low words of comfort to you, which make you smaller and smaller. Negan has always been sarcastic, cold and violent, but at that moment he was just a kind and protective person.

He swings you around in his arms for a while, until he decides to pick Lucille up off the ground. Immediately your body tenses up at the sight of her, she scared you. Negan realizes that he has tensed up in the presence of the bat.

"Ahh kid, are you scared of Lucille?"- He asks, which makes you more afraid.

You just nod, he laughs and holds Lucille out to you and starts making a funny voice to her.

"Do you think I'm going to hurt you? How can I hurt such a smart boy?"- Negan interprets Lucille's voice.

This ends up making you laugh in the purest way possible and Negan smiles along. It's been a long time since the older man heard such an innocent laugh.

"Do you really think I'm going to hurt you? Reaaaally?"- Negan continued to wield his staff.

Again, you laugh and with you, Negan. For a while, he played his staff and you talked for a long time. It was getting late, you were tired and the yawns and drowsiness were taking over your body, still on Negan's lap.

Noticing, Negan put you on his bed, propped you up on the pillow, covered you and handed you his stuffed animal, which you had previously shown the older man. Negan was happy and so was his little one. He turns on the lamp on the bedside table and tells you a story he heard from his mother when he was a child.

At the end of the story, Negan turned off the lights in the room, leaving only the lamp on. He stroked her hair.

"Good night, little one, have sweet dreams"- He said, getting up and heading for the door.

He waves to you and closes the door. You could never believe that the leader of the rescuers was someone with such a good heart, who protected your little boy.

Caregiver Negan Smith Headcannons

I can't express how well protected you will be with Negan as your caregiver.

Y'know how everyone has a job to do at the Sanctuary? Yeahhhh your job is pretty much just to be a kid.

He's not big on giving affection around people but in private? You want a hug? Absolutely.

^ Can give amazing hugs.

Keeps Lucille wayyyy out of your reach at all times.

Lets you wear his jacket. You are the ONLY one allowed!!!

Has carried you on his back multiple times!

It's a time where supplies can be hard to get but he finds a few toys for you.

He tries to only be in a good mood around you, he doesn't want you to see him any other way.

Makes amazing food, so you will have great food!!!

I think he'd be (surprisingly) really patient.

He sometimes takes you out at night to stargaze.

Katrina 🐱

While looking through your stuffies, you find one that brings a smile to your face with Daddy Negan (♡°▽°♡) You start off with the big age of whatever age you are now, and slowly descend to the age of 5-6

The day starts off with you waking up and doing your morning routine. You brush your teeth, wash your face, brush your hair etc. You walk back into your shared bedroom and find Daddy sitting on the couch near the foot of the bed and table. You gasp in excitement and run towards him.

“Daddy!” You exclaim and as he opens his arms wide you run into them engulfed in a big hug.

“How’s my good girl, hm?” He asks you with soft eyes

“Am good Daddy!” You say climbing up into his lap and rubbing your face into his chest. He gives you pecks and kisses on the head and rubs your back. You situate yourself to where you’re being cradled by him, slipping farther into little space. (At this point you're 6 going into 5) You start to run your fingers on his stubble beard caressing his face. He looks at you with endearment and carries you to the bed.

He sets you down causing you to whine and walks towards the cubbies that’s meant for your things. He pulls open the top drawer where your stuffies are kept.

He brings the box of them and you sit up curiously. You tilt your head and look at him confused. He looks at you with a smile and asks

“Did you ever even name half of these?” He looks at you expectantly. Your face starts to heat up in embarrassment and shake your head no. He laughs and grabs one

“Alright well, let’s start with this one. What should we name him? Hmmm…” He sits down holding the sheep, you crawl towards him and rest your head on his shoulder.

“Mmm.. Wha abouttt Cloud!” You say in excitement

“Ohh! That’s a good one Princess!” Daddy smiles “Cloud it is then” He pats Cloud on the head and passes it to you, you give Cloud a kiss placing it in the box. You fish out a new one and this time it’s a cat!

You smile at it remembering when Daddy gave her to you.

Flashback begins

You were out on a run with him one day, looking through a mall, once his men called and cleared out all (if not most) of the walkers you and him went inside hand in hand. Negan keeping a firm grip on Lucille and you. He lets go and raises Lucille and cautiously walks around with his men.

“Alright, Joey and David you stay down here. Me and Baby Girl will head upstairs.The rest of you split up into different parts.” They nod compliantly while you and Daddy head up the broken escalator. You hold onto the railings while you climb up and Daddy helps you up the final step. Walking around quietly and cautiously you look at the variety of ruined and abandoned shops. Broken glass and dust is found in every inch of the floor. The light shining in through the skylight roof of the mall reveals all the dust flying through the air, adding into the sickly atmosphere.

Negan leads you store to store, asking if you see anything you like. Although some things had caught your eye, it wasn’t a big enough desire to say yes. It was until you saw the toy store. Your eyes go wide and Daddy turns to you with a smile.

“Ohhhhh do I see something Baby Girl likes?” Negan asks you with a grin, you nod in excitement ready to go towards the store. As the two of you head to the store your excitement builds up. Daddy tells you to hide behind the counter to search through the store just in case any walkers are lurking. He circles back and tells you to walk around the store to see anything you like. You give him a big hug and rush to look around. The variety of toys, books, and games makes you excited to choose which one(s) you want.

You made your way towards the stuffies and gasped in excitement and ran towards the display of them. From teddies to characters from different franchises, all of it just made you so giddy. You felt all different textures and furs and finally settled on the pink, purple, and white swirled kitty. You gave her a squeeze and knew she was the one. Daddy watching you from afar smiles and wishes he had some sort of camera to save the memory. You run towards him showing off your new friend and he kisses your forehead.

“What’s her name Baby?” Daddy asks

“Katrina” You smile

Flashback ends

“Ohhhhh I remember her, Katrina? Right Doll?” Daddy asks. You nod and give her a kiss and hug. You decide that she’s gonna join you and Daddy on whatever adventure you have today. Daddy puts back the box of stuffies and takes your hand to lead you to the cafeteria to eat breakfast.
