What's the most toxic relationship the fandom has dreamed up and why is FiaMos so popular. Two questions in one ask sorry they're completely totally unrelated.
I'll tackle the second part first. The flippant answer is that they're two women who have interacted onscreen, which obviously means they're in lesbians with each other. The serious answer is... basically the flippant one. Sapphic ships are very popular in the Arknights community, even outside tumblr, for a lot of reasons, not limited to the fact that the straight guys this game is predominantly made for and marketed toward like jacking off to conventionally attractive women kissing and the dearth of male characters that get meaningful interactions with female characters that could give rise to shipping (unironically what het ships even exist in this game), and Mostima is one of like two women Fiammetta had even had meaningful interactions with. Mostima got a head start on any other possible fanon love interest by getting scenes with Fiammetta in Code of Brawl, and since this game runs 819 plot threads at once and takes years to follow up on any of them, the gap between Code of Brawl and Guide Ahead gave the fanbase time to extrapolate a fanon dynamic between the two of them that solidified through the presentation of fanfic, fanart, and other content. The fanon dynamic was so ingrained by the time Guide Ahead released that the fandom at large didn't bother correcting for the new information Guide Ahead gave us and just kept moving ahead as if oversaturated fanon was textual canon.
As for the first part, I don't fuckin know. What kind of toxic are we talking about here? The worst crackships dreamed up for shits and giggles? Stuff designed for shock value? The most toxic ship that the fanbase presents as uwu cute and good, actually? The most toxic ship that the fandom finds fascinating to explore because of its toxicity? The ones I personally find most noxious? Are we specifically discussing the ones the fanbase has created out of whole cloth, vs the ones that have some level of canon support? I'll just give you a list of ships that fall into one or more of these categories. Y'all figure out which is which

You are to rewrite Platinum's (and by extension the rest of her faction's) role in a story as well as worldbuilding in a manner where you wouldn't have hated her character and also it was actually interesting. You may change whatever events or character dynamics you want as long as it is more or less in line with what we knew before the event.
Make her a man, then no one in this fandom would give a shit about her and BlemiPlat/NearlPlat shippers wouldn't exist
the simplest solution is to simply not let the Blemishine kidnapping scene progress to the point where Platinum was about to cut off Maria's fingers and modify Blemishine's files so that she's less visibly cold to Platinum. I still don't give a shit about Platinum and think her ships are boring in this scenario, but I don't hate her with this change. She's just forgettable.
That doesn't fulfill the part of the prompt where I have to make her interesting (challenge level: immensely difficult), so I'd probably make her a bit more defiant of the Armorless Union and a bit more willing to actively try to escape the life she's been forced into. Perhaps she could even be inspired by the example of the Radiant Knight and kind of parallel the journey Mlynar takes during the Kazimierz events a bit. Maybe she slacks off a bit or does little things to help the good guys as Margaret's example restores her hope.
In this scenario, I think her turning point comes when she's ordered to abduct and mutilate Maria and manages to do the first and not the second. She sets Maria free and intervenes with all the others during the final match and the walk to the trophy hall or whatever and has to flee as the Armorless Union punishes her defiance. The Lazurites ask why she betrayed them and she says the Radiant Knight taught her what it meant to embody the true spirit of Kazimierz and she prepares to fight on, defiant to the end. Suddenly the Doctor/Rhodes Island has an actual reason to intervene on her behalf (the Doctor saving her at the end of Near Light has always felt like an excuse to make her playable more than anything else tbh) and oh, look, NearlPlat and BlemiPlat have some actual basis beyond "uwu Enemies to Lovers so kyuuteee :3 :3 :3"
There are probably a lot of other ways to do this, this is just the roughest of concept outlines of the first one I thought of

BROTP: Angelina x Utage. I feel like they'd have fun together. Angelina x Heidi is also solid. They can talk about their crushes on people way too old for them together.
OTP: Angelina x Sora because they both provide healing.
Second choice pairing: Angelina x Utage. Instead of girlfriends, they can be girlfriends.
Fluffy pairing: Angelina x Blemishine. Blemishine is very fluffy and also soft and warm and huggable.
Angsty pairing: Angelina x Doctor. You can squeeze some misery out of this one for sure.
Favorite poly ship: Utage x Kirara x Angelina, either as buddies or as lovers.
Weirdest pairing: Angelina x Penance (one-sided crush on Angelina's part). Fuck it, they're both Siracusan. That has to count for something, right?

NOTP: Nearl x Platinum. I fucking hate it. Platinum should not be allowed on the same floor of the landship as any member of the Nearl family. Every time one of my beloved mutuals reblogs NearlPlat or BlemiPlat content I have to take a deep breath and remind myself that my mutuals are my favorite people in the world and I need to accept them, flaws and all.
BROTP: Nearl x Saria. The Healing Defenders Who Are Actually Better At Beating The Crap Out Of People Sisters. They're also self-sacrificing idiots. So much to bond over.
OTP: Nearl x Doctor. At first this was just self-indulgence, but the more I think about it, the more I think it works as an actual pairing. Nearl Alter's talk lines in particular lay such a strong foundation of mutual trust and respect and regard that I think could easily blossom into romance and it's honestly one of the few Operator x Doctor As Character Within The Narrative Rather Than Player Avatar romances I'm sold on.
Second choice pairing: Nearl x Viviana Droste
Fluffy pairing: Nearl x Doctor, Nearl x Viviana Droste, Nearl x Nightingale. I know @norondor has heard me talk at length about how cute and sweet and fluffy Doc x Nearl is in particular. Honestly, it's super easy to imagine Nearl ships being fluffy because she's just such a kind, compassionate sweetheart.
Angsty pairing: Nearl x Doctor has so much angst potential, as does Nearl x Nightingale, Nearl x Shining, and Nearl x Nightingale x Shining.
Favorite poly ship: Nearl x Shining x Nightingale (with or without Viviana),
Weirdest pairing: Nearl x Siege. A queen needs a knight.
Yang Xiao Long
Oh God this is kind of tough because my answers for pre- and post-Volume 9 are very different, so I'll give answers for both.
NOTP: Whatever the hell Adam x Yang is called. No freaking thank you.
Enabler (Ruby x Yang) is also a huge vomit moment. Incest is not wincest.
Baked Alaska (Neo x Yang) also sucks ass because Neo is an unlikable little cunt who managed to be too horrible for me to have any interest in despite her cute design and sad backstory and I don't want her anywhere near characters I have positive feelings toward.
Post-Volume 9, Bumbleby (Blake x Yang) is rapidly progressing in this direction because I am not remotely satisfied with how the writers handled it.
BROTP: Freezerburn (Yang x Weiss). Love me some Freezerbros (though I actually like them more as a romance). I adore their aesthetic and dynamic and they get some really poignant scenes together.
Sunflowyr (Yang x Ren) comes in second place because I feel like they'd be good friends if the show ever bothered to show us that outside like one hug in Volume 6. They both rely more heavily on martial arts than their fellow protagonists, though they use different styles, and I think they could have a lot of fun sparring and learning from each other. Would love to see them incorporate aspects of each other's styles.
Dragonslayer (Yang x Jaune) is a good pre-Volume 9 BROTP because Yang has always been very supportive of Jaune (despite both a rocky first impression and the FNDM's attempts to paint her as a man-hating lesbian) and they got to showcase a cute dynamic in Volume 8 in particular.
Greek Fire (Yang x Pyrrha) is my last pick here because they're both talented fighters/athletes and would probably have lots of fun working out or sparring together. Also, Pyrrha's skillset incorporates some wrestling techniques, so they'd probably be able to teach each other some cool unarmed combat tricks.
OTP: Pre-Volume 9, it was Bumbleby, but what we got out of Volume 9 was frankly embarrassing, so now it's Freezerburn. Fuck you Eddy Yang and Weiss wouldn't get divorced they'd be one of the healthiest relationships in this fucking show and frankly probably healthier than the mess y'all made of your flagship sapphic romance lmao
Second choice pairing: Pre-Volume 9, Freezerburn, and then Dragonslayer. Post-Volume 9, I don't even fuckin know anymore because Bumbleby leaves a bad taste in my mouth, I can't ship Jaune with anyone after the shitshow that was He-Jaune, Master of the DILFiverse, and I'm left picking between pairings that are decent but not overly compelling. I guess the candidates are Greek Fire, Sunflowyr, and Nuclear Winter (Yang x Winter)? Just pick whichever one pisses off the most people, I guess. Gotta break the tie somehow.
Fluffy pairing: Pre-Volume 9, Dragonslayer. Two sweet, friendly human golden retrievers. They would be so soft and loving with each other, I just know it (also Jaune would get pegged as fuck). Post-Volume 9, I feel like Greek Fire would take it but I don't really think any of the Yang pairings I like at this point would really stand above the rest in terms of fluff.
Angsty pairing: The answer to this should be Bumbleby, but this show is too afraid to actually let them address their issues beyond a cursory conversation or two so none of the delicious opportunities for conflict and pain and growth and development ever come to pass. Instead they get forced to confess by a magic fucking thunderstorm, mention surface-level aspects of each other that they like and aren't even correct about them half the time, and then kiss in a field of flowers while everyone else is busy thinking about important shit like how to get home and defeat an immortal omnicidal witch goddess. I guess I'll give it to Sunflowyr because they had actual conflict in Volume 8.
Freezerburn has potential for plenty of angst too, but it comes from external sources. They'd be helping each other through it rather than hurting each other.
Greek Fire has angst opportunities post-Fall of Beacon, I guess?
Gauntlets and Greaves (Yang x Mercury) has a lot of angst potential too, but I don't like either the ship or Mercury, so whatever.
Favorite poly ship: Pre-Volume 9? Bee's Schnees (Blake x Yang x Weiss). It has all the benefits of Bumbleby, Freezerburn, and Monochrome (Blake x Weiss), which are all excellent ships, and the additional bonus of giving Weiss two hot tops who will plow her like a tractor. As she deserves.
Post-Volume 9 I guess it's still Bee's Schnees even though neither Yang nor Blake exist as characters at this point, but this is more because a) I can't think of any other poly Yang ships I particularly care for, especially at this stage of the series, and b) I really do adore Weiss and think she deserves to be stuffed like a Thanksgiving turkey. As a treat.
Weirdest pairing: Nuclear Winter. I'm not sure if the two have even directly interacted in the series outside of a scene or two in Volume 8, but they're both big sisters and self-sacrificing idiots who are hella ready to fight at a moment's notice, so that's gotta count for something, right?

NOTP: Nearl x Platinum, Blemishine x Platinum. After Near Light and what Platinum tried to do to Maria, I don't want her anywhere near any member of the Nearl family.
BROTP: Doctor x Platinum is basically a canon BROTP, but I don't like it, so I'm picking Platinum x Malkiewicz. They can suffer through corporate hell together.
OTP: I don't like Platinum enough to have one for real so I'll just pick Platinum x Malkiewicz again and say that romance blossomed under their mutual subjugation to capitalism
Second choice pairing: Man I barely have a first choice but I guess we can send her to Instructor Dobermann for some discipline.
Fluffy pairing: I feel like Doctor x Platinum would be pretty fluffy even if I don't like it.
Angsty pairing: The only way you can get me on board with NearlPlat or BlemiPlat is by making it one-sided and angsty as hell, with Platinum yearning for these pure and righteous paragons of knighthood from afar and yet knowing she'll never be good enough for them and that she's done too much harm to deserve them.
Favorite poly ship: Platinum x Roy x Monique. Make all three of them as miserable as possible.
Weirdest pairing: Platinum x ab wheel. If you know, you know.
Blue Poison
NOTP: Blue Poison x Ptilopsis because of that one fucking desk comic
BROTP: Blue Poison x Abyssal Hunters. They can hunt giant monsters and yell at the ocean together.
OTP: Glaucus x Blue Poison is very popular in the fandom and I think it's cute.
Second choice pairing: Blue Poison x Doctor, I guess? Her lines indicate that she at least feels positively about them.
Fluffy pairing: Glaucus x Blue Poison.
Angsty pairing: Blue Poison x Doctor if Ptilopsis is around.
Favorite poly ship: Blue Poison x Abyssal Hunters. There are hints in her files that she's connected to the Abyssal Hunters and I think she deserves a lot of girlfriends and so do they.
Weirdest pairing: Blue Poison x Gavial. They're both rainforest creatures and Blue Poison is toxic while Gavial is strong and resistant to damage.

do you have a ship/pairing that you feel is widely misunderstood?
Disclaimer: I'm not super invested in shipping at the moment, but I'll do my best to give you a good response that isn't just bitching about my frustrations regardless.
The easy answer is "all of them" because fandoms have a tendency to condense interesting, multifaceted characters down into components of a ship and ignore any aspect of their characterization that doesn't immediately lend itself to common shipping memes and scenarios and it's fucking annoying, but if I had to pick a specific option, I'd probably go with Dragonslayer for RWBY (inasmuch as I still ship that) and Texas x Lappland for Arknights. I'd like to have given you an answer for Baldur's Gate 3, but I still haven't found the time to finish that game.
For Dragonslayer, there's a bizarre segment of the RWBY fanbase that really likes portraying Jaune as some kind of ultra-Chadly chick magnet, which is not accurate to his canon portrayal despite him being the writing team's clear favorite. Like, sweetie, Dragonslayer is not a ship where Jaune is the dominant alpha male partner. That boy gets pegged. Yang pounds his prostate. She wears the pants in that relationship. He does not decide what to eat for breakfast in the morning without asking her and he is happy to have things that way.
(I'm exaggerating a bit for comedic effect but Yang would run roughshod over Jaune and no argument on Earth can convince me otherwise)
As for TexLapp, a lot of people don't bother really looking at the characters as individuals instead of treating them as "uwu cute violence lesbians who have fantastic bloody hatesex" and thus don't bother to engage with their trauma or any of their personality traits that don't lend themselves to stabbing each other with swords or stabbing each other with penises real or artificial (in fairness, Arknights dropped hints about their dynamic and then took ages to develop it, so like... hard to blame people for filling in the blanks). Also, I am sick and fucking tired of people acting like Lappland is a perpetual lunatic who acts unhinged at all times and can't be trusted to navigate any interaction that doesn't involve violence when that's literally not true and the proof is found directly in her files, a resource that has been available since launch.
(I, on the other hand, understand both these characters perfectly, a state of enlightenment that led to me unleashing a thesis about Lappland having a breeding kink and wanting a polycule upon a few of my unsuspecting mutuals. It's hard being as smart as I am sometimes.)
I'll close this out with a couple ships I don't like: almost every piece of NearlPlat and BlemiPlat content I've seen fundamentally misunderstands or willfully misinterprets their dynamic and characterization as it exists in canon in favor of shaving off anything that could possibly get in the way of "kyaaaa enemies to lovers so kyuuuteeeee uwu!!!" and I fucking hate it so much. It takes ships I already despise and strips them of anything that could be remotely unique or compelling. This shit is the McDonalds of Arknights ships: boring as hell, tastes like cardboard, and does nothing to differentiate itself from its competitors in a positive manner
Meanwhile for Bumbleby the fucking writers don't understand the ship dynamic or the characters involved, so I can't even get annoyed when the fanbase doesn't either

Wrong in what way? Nearl seems to me to be one of those characters with a pretty clear cut fandom characterization.... or do you mean like NearlPlat shippers?
Given that the post that presumably spurred this ask was about seeing people with headcanons that differ from my own and then keeping my mouth shut about it, I'm not going to go too in-depth here. Suffice it to say that while Nearl's fandom characterization is fairly clear-cut and well-defined, at least on tumblr, it is also... significantly exaggerated in comparison to her characterization in the text. Sure, some of this is just the fandom meming, we see it plenty with other characters, but at least part of it seems to be genuine and it does bug me. That said, I stay quiet and let people have their headcanons because it costs me nothing to not pick fights.
I do not like NearlPlat, I doubt I will ever like NearlPlat, Platinum needs to stay far away from the Nearl family, let her troll Kal'tsit and hang out at amusement parks with the Doctor and never darken their doorstep again.

I just noticed that nearl and platinum have a bit of a chess theme going, with nearl being a black knight piece while plat is a white knight cause of their armor colors and being kuranta. Not to mention the Kazimierz symbol has a knight piece and plat saying ‘checkmate’ on a three star victory too. Makes you wonder what pieces the rest of the nearl family might be.
I'd switch the colors around--Platinum does have black chess pieces in her E2 art. I don't know anything about chess symbolism but there's also a chessboard included with the Nearls' Living Room Replica furniture theme.
Interesting to note that the white knight piece is knocked over though...
