Sorry to rant in your direction. I'm feeling a bit savage and overprotective by some of the awful comments I have been seeing on that new BBC interview with David. Saying that he's got far too skinny, looks malnourished and needs to eat a sandwich. Like what the heck is wrong with people that they feel the need to write negative comments about someones weight, makes me so mad. David is naturally very slim and even if he had lost weight why do they feel the need to be dicks about it.
Hi, Anon! No need to apologize at all--you are more than welcome to rant on my blog, as I like to think that it’s a safe place for folks to speak their minds. (I’m on the road at the moment for another speaking engagement, so that’s why I’ve been a bit sidetracked and am trying to catch up on Anons.)
As I’ve mentioned previously, I am not a big watcher of DW, and so have been aware of what has happened recently in more of a general, peripheral sense. From what I am seeing, though, it seems like people are upset at Jodie leaving as 13 or upset at Ncuti not being given a “proper” regeneration as the next Doctor, and instead of aiming those feelings and frustrations where they belong--at Russell T. Davies and the writers/showrunners--they are aiming them at David.
It’s terribly cheap and easy to attack someone’s appearance, too, and it speaks to the fact that these people have nothing else to attack--he’s a beloved Doctor in the DW pantheon, a talented actor, and a lovely, sweet human being, so all that leaves is his looks. But it’s patently ridiculous, because look at him:
Tumblr media
So pretty. So gorgeous in that ludicrous shirt, with those delicate features and hands of his. I have had people message me privately with concerns about David’s appearance, but only in the sense of being worried about him looking tired from working so hard and hoping he is eating enough...not calling him ugly and/or attacking his appearance out of some misplaced rage over DW. Sheesh.
As far as I’m concerned, the only acceptable comment about David’s appearance in the BBC interview is this, because it’s hilarious and also the fucking accuracy...
Tumblr media
He absolutely looks like he co-owns a hair salon called Unicorn & Daffodil in Palm Springs with Michael, and they are on the verge of adopting a puppy and Michael is fed up because he’s on his third cream rinse of the day and wants to get iced coffees for him and his husband once David is finished with his interview in their tastefully-appointed living room:
Tumblr media
So yes, I have no idea why anyone would be possibly a dick about and insult David’s appearance when you could talk about the eyeliner he is wearing or that freaking shirt or his delightful inability to sit straight instead.
It’s so ridiculous to crap on people’s happiness at their fave Doctor returning (in whatever form), and especially to go after David himself. He is friends with Jodie, thoroughly admires Ncuti, and is clearly thrilled to be part of the show again, which he has loved dearly since he was little, so I do not at all see the sense in people trampling over his joy.
Hopefully the haters will go away once this initial wave of DW content subsides and/or by the time the series is released (November of next year, I believe?). But even if they don’t, you are always welcome to rant on my blog again, Anon. Thanks for writing in! x

'David Tennant has bid adieu to the Doctor (at least, for now), with the third and final 60th anniversary special of Doctor Whointroducing the concept of “bi-generation” – something which meant Tennant and incoming Doctor Ncuti Gatwa took on Neil Patrick Harris’ evil Toymaker together, rather than Tennant morphing into (and being replaced by) Gatwa.
“The Giggle” concluded with Gatwa’s Fifteenth Doctor continuing to travel time and space (indeed, he’ll appear in the Christmas special “The Church on Ruby Road” in just over two weeks’ time), while the Fourteenth Doctor decided to rest up on Earth for a while – a plot point which has already seen Whovians suggest he could become a supposed future incarnation of the Doctor known as The Curator.
Sitting in the garden with companion Donna Noble (Catherine Tate), the Fourteenth Doctor remarked: “Who’d have thought? I ended up with a family.”
Donna replies: “You don’t have to stay forever.”
“We’ll see,” says the Doctor.
His friend then asks: “Do you miss it? Out there?”
And the Doctor responds: “The funny thing is, I fought all those battles all those years, and now I know what for: this. I’ve never been so happy in my life.”
After all, the episode revealed that the loss of multiple former companions – Amy Pond, Clara Oswald and Bill Potts – was still weighing heavy on the Doctor’s heart, to the extent that the time traveller snapped when The Toymaker teased him over the deaths and how quickly he was forced to move on from them.
Now he has time to heal and we’re not crying, you’re crying.'

So. I need to get my thoughts out on the last Doctor Who special. I've seen posts with takes that I very much disagree with and didn't want to derail them with my thoughts, so here we are.
(Also. These are my personal thoughts and so they are going to be very self centered. That said, I am open to discussion if you wanna add your two cents.)
(Also also. This became an ESSAY lmao I had more to say than I thought so I'm putting in a read more so it doesn't completely take up your dash haha)
I will first say that I do agree that not mentioning Martha and Yaz weird. They were important to the Doctor and I can't think of a reason why they weren't mentioned among the others. Also, the ending to The Giggle wasn't great. It was anticlimactic, rushed, and made the Toymaster seem like he wasn't an actual threat? It felt more like someone was pulling his strings tbh. There are probably more things I could say about it but this post isn't about my criticisms of the episodes.
Another quick note, I like the bi-regeneration. My interpretation is 15 is the regeneration of 14 after he's lived his life, but instead of regenerating at the end of 14's life, he's regenerating early because of the Toymaker.
To start with the first thing that has me ruffled is that, to me, Ncuti shone in the role as the Doctor. He was charismatic, joyful and fun - we're getting something different and exciting. We got time with him before his first official episode and that made me very excited for his run as the Doctor (I will add that after seeing the trailer that I am worried about the Christmas special because goblins eating babies? Antisemitism anyone?).
This episode was the happy ending for 14 and the exciting beginning for 15. I don't understand where the complaints of 15 being undercut or being overshadowed by 14. To me it functioned as a soft reset - we got 14 settling down with the Mott-Noble-Temple family to rest and heal from his trauma while 15 goes and starts his adventures without all the baggage of 9-14's runs. Healing isn't linear either, and he still has that history so it can be referenced to and can come up later, but 15 is truly happy ("fixed" - though I hate that they phrased it that way) in a way that he hasn't been in NuWho (I haven't seen classic Who so I can't say anything about it). People don't change until the pain of not changing outweighs the pain of staying the same. If we didn't see that change happen in the Doctor, then I wouldn't have bought a transition from Jodi's Doctor (who represses absolutely everything) to Ncuti's Doctor, who's been magically "fixed".
I've seen several posts about how 14 regressed on 13's happiness and made the Doctor sad again, which. I would say misinterprets 13 in a pretty fundamental way. Her smile and happiness is a mask 13 hides behind. She's hurting and bottles all of it up to shove out of sight in the hopes that if she ignores it it will go away. She's running away just as much as her previous regenerations, which is shown in the way that she doesn't share anything personal about herself. She doesn't talk about her history with anyone she travels with, she even brushes her hurt off when Jack, who has been with her through some of her shit, asks if she's ok. (This. might not be the best point bc it feels like Jack excepts her to be ok, and 13 does have people pleasing tendencies, but still. They're friends and he does care about her. I think getting thrown into prison to break her out demonstrates this point.) Even when the fam corner her and ask if she's ok, it never continues into a productive conversation - either she deflects or it gets awkward fast because they don't know how to reply to what she's said and it never goes anywhere. She's such a repressed mess I don't know how anyone interprets her as genuinely happy. (Just to note before anyone thinks I'm hating, I do love 13. She's pretty high up on my list of favourite Doctors.)
Now (the main reason why I wanted to make this post), to explain why I think Donna is kind of the perfect person for the Doctor to go to to stop and rest and heal. (Disclaimer - 10 and Donna are my favourites. While I love them a whole lot, I am trying to be fair when I think about this. Please keep that in mind.)
Of the NuWho companions, after crossing off the people that are dead, not on this Earth/universe, and left of their own volition; you are left with Donna and Yaz.
(I'm struggling to keep things kind of concise, so I'm going to make a list that is hopefully comprehensive.)
I'm going to start with Yaz, and I do like her, but I'm gonna outline why I don't think she would be a good option.
Yaz is young. She's in her early 20's, and as someone who is also in their early 20s, I'm gonna straight up say that helping someone rest and recover through lifetimes (multiple!) of trauma is not something Yaz is going to be equipped to handle.
Yaz has only just started her life. She's driven and loves the adventures she's had with the Doctor, so much so that she stayed with the Doctor after everyone else left. Yaz would get as restless as the Doctor, resulting in either more adventures or resentment.
Yaz is in love with her. We get the scenes where the Doctor says she would but can't, and in them Yaz looks heartbroken. If the circumstances were different then maybe they could have, but they're not so they can't. Yaz needs time to heal her heartbreak, which she can't really do if the Doctor is still around (and whether or not the Doctor is 13, they're still the Doctor and would still be difficult for Yaz. Also difficult for the Doctor bc she did love Yaz but her fear and trauma was unfortunately too much for her to risk it).
Just to repeat, I think Yaz should have been mentioned in the episode. It doesn't make sense for someone who the Doctor has explicitly stated they loved not to be mentioned.
And here are the reasons why I think Donna was the good choice.
Donna and the Doctor make each other better during their run together. Donna reminds him that he can do good, even if the impact is small. The Doctor shows her that she matters, and is brilliant.
Although he doesn't know it at the time, the Doctor is given an opportunity to save Donna and return her memories, undoing one of the things he has massive guilt over.
Donna is someone who has settled down. She has a house, a husband, a kid. She knows what it's like to go a bit crazy being stuck in one place (even if not for the same reasons). She has the ability and experience to help the Doctor through it. She is also someone who will enforce his rest and healing while knowing what it's like to want to be doing something.
Donna also comes with an added support system because her family is pretty close knit, with a particular spotlight on Wilf ('I'd be proud to have you as a father', anyone?).
This so pretty long and if you're still here then thanks for reading! Mainly I wrote it to put my thoughts out there so I don't explode. If you have any thoughts about this and are gonna be nice about it, then feel free to add to this post :)

Peter Capaldi: "I Think Ncuti Gatwa Is Amazing"
Peter Capaldi: "I Think Ncuti Gatwa Is Amazing"
Peter Capaldi has spoken about how much support David Tennant and Matt Smith gave him when he was announced as the Twelfth Doctor, and revealed that he’s already spoken to Fifteenth Doctor actor, Ncuti Gatwa, about the role. When asked about how he feels about Doctor Who‘s future, Capaldi replied: “I love Doctor Who and I look forward to watching the 60th [anniversary] and Ncuti, I think, is…

go bestie expose your feelings about the ending😔✌️
before i say anything, these are my OWN opinions! no one take them as me speaking for everyone. you can either respectfully discuss in the reblogs/replies or make your own post if you disagree that much, thank you!!
everything else is under the cut bc oh gosh this is actually pretty long lmao (dw, I have a TL;DR at the end)
let me start with the LOWS of the episode and work my way to a more positive light :)))
first off, we had no resolution to the fob watch/timeless child arc. I can still understand this bit because it's part of the mystery, but it feels like there's so much plot whose ends they still haven't tied together. did she just drop the fob watch containing ALL HER PAST MEMORIES inside the TARDIS and ignore it?? did the doctor really not tell yaz about the memories? did she do that offscreen? like- what? they set up so many plots and didn't even end up continuing them like they deserve
next is how they handled sapphic ships, specifically lesbian ships. I don't know much about the classic companions but from what i've seen, tegan and nyssa are supposed to be together and ace is lesbian-coded, but what we got was retconned tyssa and ace flirting with graham?? and I also disliked how they implied that tegan's life was so dull after being left by the doctor.
they also didnt resolve thasmin at all like?? they gave yaz SO MUCH character development and it looked like her relationship with 13 was gonna have a better resolution because of how they added more of it in EOTD and LOTSD but no?? what happened to "I want to tell you everything" and "if it was gonna be anyone it would've been you"? they just ended it with a nod and walking away silently? now here, I can understand that they both don't want to say goodbye (the doctor bc she hates goodbyes and yaz bc she's holding out hope that they may see each other again) BUT we deserve more than just that. (maybe this is bc I was imagining a killing eve s3 finale-esque goodbye wherein both yaz and the doctor stop in their tracks and turn around for a final goobye kiss, but that's on me lmao)
in addition to that, why is it that the first sapphic doctor is the only one who didn't get a kiss in her entire run, when she had so much chances to kiss yaz? and please don't say "we know it's confirmed to be romantic so we don't need the kiss" bc we have had enough shipping based on subtext and post-show confirmations. i agree that physical touch doesn't define a relationship but can't we have it this once? would it be so hard to give us this on their final day?
finally, imo they hardly gave enough time for jodie to say goodbye to her role properly. it would still have been ok if the episode was only filled to the brim with classic who nostalgia, but then they made her regenerate to 10. instead of giving her (the first female doctor) or ncuti (the first black doctor) the spotlight, they decide to bring back the most popular (and most used) doctor, david tennant. don't get me wrong i LOVE david as a person, but there's a difference between bringing someone back for a cameo and overusing them. with all honesty, I'm tired of him and ten 🤷.
and not only that, they took their most popular (white male cishet) doctor, aka the one that most if not all NMDs compare jodie to, and put him at the end as a cliffhanger? like he was the one they should have been waiting for? they must know that they're diverting people's attention away from appreciating jodie's ending and ncuti's beginning. I keep seeing stuff on twitter like "finally, the good doctor who! they're gonna restore doctor who back to its formal glory! this will prove that the female doctor was a mistake!" which is UTTER BULLSHIT
now here are the HIGHS of the episode because there were a lot of them too:
I LOVED how this episode gave closure to some of the classic companions, aka tegan and ace. I squealed when ace called the doctor "professor" and I'm glad they didn't shy away from showing that a previous companion was (rightfully) upset with the doctor. and all the callbacks! the nitro 9, ace's jacket, and her bat, too. don't even get me STARTED on the "support group for former companions" because that was amazing. IAN WAS THERE?!?!? and it gives such a good open end to them, not only for future projects but also for fanfiction lmao.
the plot of this episode was impressive and fun. its length contributed significantly because it defo wouldn't have worked if it wasn't as long. I really wasnt expecting it to make as much sense as it did because it was a great undertaking, but I'm glad it did. it showed the best parts of chibnall's take on doctor who (utilizing iconic classic who elements well and his own take on history).
THE CHARACTERS!!! gahdamn I loved how they gave the characters their own jobs that only they can handle, like kate and tegan with the cybermen (bc of their history with them), ace with the daleks (same reason, her history) and yaz saving the doctor (bg their PARALLELS here I wanna bawl).
I was also obsessed with the master in this episode!! Sacha played him as such an unhinged little pathetic brat man (affectionate) but he also proved that he was more than capable of delivering powerful scenes. compare the humour of the rasputin dance sequence vs the master so desperately wanting to be the doctor because he feels lonely. he's one of the consistently great things about this episode. i will be hearing RA RA RASPUTIN on repeat in my head for the foreseeable future (as well as thirteen's theme 😭😭😭).
Yaz taking charge!!! my little badass who's grown from being unsure about facing a potential threat in s11 to kicking (the master's) ass, saving ace, flying the tardis like it was nothing, and reversing a regeneration?!?! and not to mention Mandip's acting. she's proven that she has the range of badass action, deep emotion, hilarious comedy, and just raw heart. she's amazing, showstopping, phenomenal. and out of my favourite companions, yaz is the one I connect to the most, both with her struggles (in her mental health, in growing as a person, and in learning she's queer) and her strengths (hopefully her heart, her love for friends, her courage), so to see her grow at the same time as I have is so special to me.
finally, people may disagree with me on this, but I love thirteen's regeneration speech, due to the fact that she did not do it on her own, she didnt just talk to herself on that cliffside (that was just the last bit). most of her speech was to YAZ, her companion, her friend, the one who's supposed to be the viewer's stand-in. her entire message of "goodbyes only hurt because what came before was so special, and it's been so special. no body else got to be us, no body else got to live our days, no body. and my hearts are so full of love for all of you" was not just the doctor to yaz, but jodie and mandip to us. and idc if yall don't like her last words, "Tag, you're it" is SO THIRTEEN and is instantly iconic.
TL;DR I disliked: the abandoned fob watch plot, how they handled sapphic/lesbian characters, the way they hinted at thasmin but never properly resolved them, nostalgia overtaking Jodie's time to say goodbye, and yet another doctor played by david tennant, who I think is overused I LOVED: the closure this gave to tegan and ace, both of them and kate being given unique spotlight, the Former Companion Support Group™️, Sacha Dhawan as the Master, Mandip GIll as Yaz, seeing how much yaz has grown, Jodie Whittaker as The Doctor, aaand 13's regeneration speech (which was directed to yaz and to us, not just to herself)

For Arguments Sake
Asa Butterfield x Reader (female)
Tumblr media
A/N- Sorry it took so long but a lot of things are happening at the moment so requests will take a while. I hope you enjoy @saritaobrien
Word Count- 3045 words
Warnings- fluff and a bit of angst.
Summary- “Something like the reader and asa are in the same group of friends but they use to fight because lf the sexual frustration and at a party they got locked into a room by their friends so they can sort things out with a making out session or something like that lol.”
“Goblet of Fire is way better than Half Blood Prince.”
“No, it’s not. Don’t even try to argue that it is, because it isn’t”
Y/N couldn’t help but roll her eyes at Asa’s reply. They had been arguing over which Harry Potter film and book were the best. They had just drifted from arguing whether the book of Prisoner of Azkaban was better than the movie.
Their friends tried to drown out their increasing voices, but it had become too difficult. Because of their constant bickering, many people who met the group found it surprising that Asa and Y/N were friends; even more that they held the longest friendship out of anyone in the group. The pair having met when Asa starred in Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang; with Y/N’s mother working as a make-up artist on the show. She had become good friends with all the children on the cast, but she could not help but be drawn to Asa.
Bickering was never a part of their friendship until both turned 18. Overnight their playful and teasing relationship turned into constant competition. Arguing over silly things like which movie was better, or whose turn it was to pick where to eat.
They had been rooming together since the start of filming for season one. Y/N had initially agreed to flat sit for Asa as he filmed in Wales, but she soon needed a new place of her own, and Asa conveniently had a spare bedroom. It may have helped their living situation, but it did not help the increasing sexual tension between the pair; causing them to argue even more.
But to his castmates, Asa constantly gushed about the girl, the smile on his face growing ever bigger when he mentioned her in conversation. When Asa announced that Y/N was coming to meet his friends and cast of his newest project, Sex Education, they couldn’t wait to meet the boy’s best friend after hearing all his sweet words. However, they could not hide their surprise when mere minutes after saying hello, Y/N and Asa broke into an argument over whether Spy Kids 1 or 2 was better.
It continued and continued. Y/N had become a member of the friendship group that Asa had formed with the cast. Even hanging out separately with them when Asa was busy. They could all see that the reason why the pair bickered so much was more than just to have the winning opinion. It was clear to everyone except Y/N and Asa that the feelings they had for one another had grown into something more than friendship over the years.
“You can’t seriously believe that Half Blood Prince is better than Goblet of Fire?”
The cast was over Emma’s to celebrate the wrapping of season 2. They had the official party the week before, but the closer group of friends wanted to celebrate with a chill night in, and of course, Y/N was invited. She had been there less than five minutes before she found Asa and Harry Potter was mentioned. The night had been going for over an hour, and the pair were still bickering.
Asa took a sip of his drink as Y/N through her hands up in exasperation.
“Yes. Yes, I can.”
The young woman groaned throwing her head back; missing the fond look that quickly took over Asa’s face. Every year they had the same argument, with it usually happening at Christmas when the TV showed the movies back to back. But the pair had decided to marathon the movies the night before; causing the occurring argument to rise again.
Aimee came to sit next to Y/N, forcing the woman to scoot closer to Asa on the sofa. Y/N instinctively leaned into Asa’s side, as his arm fell across the back of the coach; his hand unconsciously stroking the young woman’s shoulder as they continued to bicker.
“How long has this argument been going for now? An hour?”
With her head still hanging back, Y/N rolled it to face Aimee.
“For you an hour, for us since yesterday afternoon.”
Sat opposite Otis was Ncuti and Connor, who couldn’t help but chuckle at the girl’s response.
As the night continued, Asa and Y/N were unaware of the mischievous looks shared between their friends. Whilst the pair had been convinced that the chill night that the cast was having was to celebrate the wrap of season 2, it was actually for their benefit alone.
Their friends were ready for the arguing to end and for them to admit their feelings for the other.
Ncuti, Connor, Aimee, and Emma had all moved to the kitchen whilst the pair continued to bicker.
“So, what are we going to do because I am done with the constant arguing. Have neither of them learnt anything from the show?”
The group nodded their heads in agreement with Emma’s words.
“Well if the show has taught us anything, it is that confined spaces cause people to release their secrets.”
Ncuti, Connor, and Emma all stared at Aimee.
“Babe, you are a genius!”
Aimee giggled as Connor placed a kiss on her head.
Ncuti clapped his hands to gain the trios attention.
“Okay! Here is the plan…”
Whilst their friends go the plan underway, Y/N and Asa were still situated very closely on the sofa.
Y/N could not help but let the yawn escape her mouth.
Otis chuckled, his hand squeezing her shoulder.
“If you’re tired, I can grab us a taxi and we can go and carry on watching Stranger Things.”
Y/N giggled.
“That would be nice. I’m just going to go grab my coat and then we can call the taxi.”
As Y/N stood from the sofa, Asa let his hand drop to his lap; lifting his drink to gulp what he had left. Picking up his phone, he busied himself with answering any unanswered texts. But only a few seconds later, the space next to him dipped once more.
Looking up from his phone Otis saw Connor sit down in Y/N’s seat. Ncuti moving to grab the footstool to sit in front of the two men.
“You alright lads?”
The pair quickly shared a look at Asa’s words.
“Yeah, were alright mate. Finally stopped arguing with Y/N?”
The trio chuckled at Connor’s words.
“Actually, she’s pretty tired, so I am going to take her home. She’s just gone to get her coat.”
Connor tried to hide the smile on his face. It seemed that they didn’t even have to try hard for their plan to work.
As Asa waited for Y/N to return, the boys kept up conversation. Soon enough the girls, minus Y/N, came and joined in. Before Asa knew, Y/N had been gone for over 20 minutes.
Detaching from the conversation, Asa looked around the room to see if he could see her anywhere. Y/N was nowhere in sight.
“Guys, has anyone seen Y/N, she said she was going to get her coat. We were going to leave about 20 minutes ago.”
Everyone looked between them, waiting to see who would step up to knock the plan into its next level.
Emma cleared her throat.
“Her coat is in the airing cupboard next to the stairs; she might be around there somewhere.”
Asa thanked his friends, pushing himself from his seat, unknowingly leaving his phone behind.
The young man was unaware of Kedar standing near the staircase, waiting for the boy to approach the airing cupboard.
Asa swerved between the bodies of people and towards the cupboard by the stairs. His gaze still flittering across the room in case Y/N was anywhere else.
Asa quickly approached the cupboard, opening the door to see that Y/N was not there, however, hanging on the rail was her coat. Stepping in to the cupboard, Asa pulled Y/N’s coat from the hanger. Before he could turn around, the door slammed shut behind him. Confused, Asa grabbed onto the door handle and wiggled it up and down. The door was locked.
“What the actual fuck?”
He quickly reached into his pocket for his phone, only to come out empty handed.
All of the sudden the door burst open. Before Asa could even react, he was forced to the ground; groaning in pain.
“Jesus Christ.”
It took Asa a few seconds to realise that the force that pushed him to the ground was Y/N. The girl herself groaning in pain from being pushed into the cupboard.
“Are you okay?”
Y/N raised her head at the sound of Asa’s voice. Quickly realising how close their faces were, she lifted herself up from the floor. Holding her hand out to help Asa up, she pulled him to stand once his hand sat in her own.
“I’m fine. There’s no use in us trying to get out. I heard them lock the door.”
“Them?”
“Aimee and Emma. That’s why I was so long. I came to grab my jacket and they dragged me away to the garden. We were talking and next thing I know they were rushing me back inside and shoved me in here.”
Asa couldn’t help but be confused. Why would their friends lock them inside the cupboard for?
Sliding back down to the floor, Asa watched as Y/N made herself comfortable. Grabbing her coat, which she had dropped on the floor when she was dragged to the garden, Y/N spread the fabric across her legs as a makeshift blanket.
Asa could tell Y/N was tired. They had both planned to be home by now, hilling on the sofa watching Forrest Gump, not stuck in a cupboard with all their friends outside.
Y/N tried desperately to get comfortable but couldn’t. Huffing in annoyance, she pouted, her bottom lip sticking out ever so slightly. Asa couldn’t help but let his eyes drift to her mouth, licking his own lips absentmindedly. Allowing himself to drift to the ground, Asa scooted across the carpet until he was sat next to Y/N. Shoulder to shoulder; with their backs against the wall.
Unconsciously, Y/N moved her head to rest on her best friend’s shoulder. Her lips still set in a prominent pout.
Quickly untensing from the sudden change in position, Asa chuckled at the girl to his side.
“Why are you laughing for? This situation is not funny.”
Another chuckle left Asa’s mouth.
“No, but you are pouting like a child. You’re sulking like you did when you were teenagers and you weren’t allowed on set for a few days of filming.”
Y/N let out an annoyed huff. Snuggling herself closer to Asa, she brought her coat to lie across both of their legs. The boy was a walking furnace and she was going to take advantage of the fact for however long they were going to be stuck in there.
“The only reason they wouldn’t let me on set is because you couldn’t stay focused and they blamed me. I wasn’t even talking to you that day. So how could I have distracted you.”
Asa remember that day so clearly. He had just begun filming Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children in early February 2015. Y/N’s mum had been hired as Head of Wardrobe and Costume for the film; allowing the best friends to spend as much time as possible both on and off set. They were filming what should have been an easy scene, but Asa kept messing up his lines and looking in the complete opposite direction than he was supposed to. Instead of looking at his castmate Ella, his eyes were sinking into the view of Finlay Macmillan flirting with Y/N. Of course, everyone except Y/N realised he was staring at her, and next thing you know, Y/N was asked to go help her mother in wardrobe whilst they filmed.
“But you were talking to Finlay that day.”
Y/N lifted her head, looking at Asa in confusion.
“Yeah, and?”
Asa hands started to become clammy. Was he really going to admit this to himself? To her?
“And he was flirting with you.”
Realisation swept over Y/N’s face.
“No he wasn’t Asa.”
The boy became frustrated at her words.
“He blatantly was.”
Y/N couldn’t help but roll her eyes.
“No, he wasn’t”
Their faces inched closer as their voices grew louder; arguing against the other’s accusations.
Outside the door, Emma, Aimee, Connor, and Ncuti stood, not believing that their friends were still arguing.
Asa shook his head in exasperation. Looking at his friend in disbelief.
“Then please enlighten me in what way Finlay wasn’t flirting with you?”
“Because he was helping me sort out your birthday surprise! You were turning 18 Asa! I wanted to make it the best 18th birthday party you could possibly have. I needed help with decorations and what alcohol to bring for everyone because you know I don’t drink, and I wanted you to feel comfortable and happy.”
He couldn’t believe it. All this time Y/N had convinced Asa that his parents planned his birthday party that year. Not Y/N.
The pair were unaware at how close they were sitting There backs no longer to the wall as they had become so enthralled in their argument that they inched closer and closer towards the other.
“You planned my 18th birthday?”
Y/N couldn’t help the laugh that escaped her mouth.
“Of course, I did. How else would your parents know what alcohol you liked when you were underage. I helped you sneak out to try alcohol whilst I sat there and drank Ribena and made sure you didn’t get too drunk. I also planned your 21st birthday party as well. The only reason you didn’t have one for your 19th or 20th was-“
Asa crashed his lips onto Y/N’s. The kiss did not last long, as Y/N reared her head back in shock.
Y/N spluttered.
“What was that?”
Asa looked at the girl in front of him. The girl he’s known since he was 12 years old. They may have fought over the stupidest things, but he knew he could not fight how he felt anymore.
“I love you.”
Shock enveloped over Y/N’s face.
“I have loved you since I was 16. I have fancied you probably since the day we met. I wanted to be your friend because I thought you were cute, but then you turned out to become the coolest person I know. You distracted me when you spoke to Finlay because it made me jealous. I thought he was flirting with you and that made me jealous. It made me wish that I could man up and tell you how I feel. It took me an extra four years, but I finally have.”
Silence took over the room as Asa finished proclaiming his love for his best friend. The silence began to feel Asa with regret and dread. The young man was about to stand so that he could try and escape the uncomfortable situation. However, he ceased moving when he felt pressure on his arm. Looking down at his arm, his gaze travelled from the grip that Y/N had on him and up towards her face. Now that he finally looked at her, he could see the large smile that radiated from her; as well as the tears collecting in her eyes.
Y/N licked her lips, moving her had from his arm to place it at the nape of his neck, caressing his short hair as her other hand moved to hold his right cheek.
And in 5 simple words, Y/N evaporated the uncomfortable tension in the cupboard.
“I love you too Asa.”
It was Y/N’s turn to pull Asa in for the kiss. Both of them reciprocating the feelings and action. Asa wound his hands around Y/N’s waist as the pair raised to their knees to pull the other impossible closer.
Y/N melted into Asa’s touch; surprised at the dominance and intensity that Asa was displaying. She expected him to be shy or coy. But he had been waiting a very long time for this kiss to happen.
Before things could become even more heated, the door to the cupboard suddenly opened.
“Well at least our plan worked. They have finally stopped arguing.”
Y/N and Asa quickly broke apart and scurried to their feet, placing a slight distance between them.
Their friends all stood at the door, chuckling at Emma’s remark.
“I don’t know. If they’re going to be kissing all the time, I’d rather them argue instead.”
Asa rolled his eyes at Ncuti’s remark. Y/N couldn’t help but smile.
As their friends all stood at the doorway discussing their ‘genius’ plan, Y/N turned and grabbed her jacket pulling it on.
The group ceased their discussions as Y/N came walking towards the entry way.
“Excuse me.”
At the sound of her words the group parted like the Red Sea; watching as she walked away. They quickly all looked at Asa, who still stood alone in the room.
Asa looked just as confused.
It didn’t take long for Y/N to walk back and interlock Asa’s hand with her own. In an even bolder move, she pecked him on the lips in front of her friends.
“I thought we were going to go home and watch Stranger Things?”
Asa smiled at his girl.
“Yeah we are. Let’s go.”
Quickly waving goodbye to their friends, the duo rushed out of the party.
Leaning into her own boyfriend’s embraced, Aimee happily watched as the pair closed the door behind them.
“They will thank us at their wedding.”
And as the night went on, Asa and Y/N snuggled close together on their sofa. Kisses shared between episodes of Stranger Things.
“She definitely fancies Steve.”
Y/N scoffed at Asa’s statement.
“No, she doesn’t.”
“Yes, she does.”
“No, she doesn’t.”
As they argued once more Y/N climbed onto Asa’s lap. The young man’s arms circling her waist as she became comfortable. Their focus not even on the TV anymore.
“Yes, she does.”
Y/N giggled. Leaning to place a long slow kiss on Asa’s lips, she stopped just before their lips could touch.
“I love you.”
“I love you too.”
And as Asa connected their lips together, he knew that she was the person he would want to argue with for the rest of his life; if it meant that she was his.

speaking for myself i just find it idk sort of unfair that nobody else gets noms for their performances when ncuti has like 13 noms and asa/emma/aimee have like 5 between the three of them and the rest of the cast has a big fat zero 🧍‍♀️ ncuti 100% deserves his but like... he wouldn't be able to play at that level if the rest of the cast wasn't just as good as him
(going to reply to this publicly hope that's ok but please tell me to delete if you'd rather not <3)
the show literally thrives because of the ensemble, so it's especially weird that only one member gets nominated. i like how the baftas have at least consistently acknowledged more than just him, but elsewhere it's either ncuti gets a nom, or nobody does, and it makes no sense considering how sex education (at least from seasons 2 and 3) has made it clear that it's an ensemble show. if it were up to me, supporting for s3 would go to aimee, mimi, emma (not sure if she counts as supporting though, put her in lead if not), ncuti and connor, and then asa and gillian for lead.
but my issue is that anon stated that people are saying he doesn't deserve it, which is just so false. like you said, it's a lack of inclusion that's the problem, not the fact that he gets it. i've prev said (mainly on twitter) how asa always get snubbed despite being the main character behind the show itself (and not to mention in 90% of the scenes that ncuti is in), so it's ridiculous that these award shows ignore that. it might be because of the lead actor competition, though, but i'm not going to lie i don't watch most of the nominated shows so can't tell you if that's the case 😭 but out of the shows i have seen, he is definitely on that level.
but that being said, ncuti has yet to win anything major outside of the bafta scotland award (which was basically his the second he got nominated lbr). the i talk telly one was the only other one he won and that's like...... what even is that 😭 so i don't think it's fair to say he doesn't deserve it (not that you said that) as he has yet to even be given one award moment to shine.

'Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies has revealed that there are 'no plans' for David Tennant to return in the new series.
The actor reprised his role as the Time Lord for a trio of Specials to celebrate the show's 60th Anniversary, with a twist in the third and final episode leaving The Fourteenth Doctor to embrace a new life on Earth.
While David's return was praised by viewers, and the conclusion has left the door open for him to appear again in the future, Russell has confirmed that moving forward, new Doctor Ncuti Gatwa is the sole focus.
After his first appearance in the final special last week, Ncuti makes his full debut in a festive special on Christmas Day, alongside Millie Gibson, who will star as his companion Ruby Sunday.
Speaking at a Q&A following the premiere of the festive episode, Russell said: 'Sorry, it's the age of Ncuti now – it's 'David who?''...
Ncuti made his first appearance as The Doctor in the third and final 60th Anniversary Special, The Giggle.
His arrival came when 'creepy' returning villain The Toymaker, played by Neil Patrick Harris, shot David's Doctor through the chest, forcing him to regenerate.
The Toymaker had turned human beings on Earth mad, before challenging the Doctor to a deadly game - which put the planet at stake - forcing the Time Lord to accept to try and save Earth.
Shooting the Doctor, The Toymaker said: 'I played one game with the First Doctor, I played the second with this Doctor, so your rules declare that I must play the third game with the next Doctor!'
His companions Donna Noble (Catherine Tate) and the returning Melanie Bush (Bonnie Langford) ran over to support him as he regenerated, with fans expecting that to be the end for David's character.
Melanie reassured him: 'You're going to be someone else, it doesn't matter who, because every single one of you is fantastic!'
While David tearfully said: 'It's time, here we go again! Alonzee,' as he expected to be replaced, but a huge twist saw his character remain alongside his new incarnation.
As he remained after the regeneration, he asked Donna and Melanie: 'Could you, pull? It feels different this time,' and as they yanked on his arms, Ncuti shot out of him and the two Time Lords stood alongside each other in a massive twist.
Making his hotly-anticipated debut, Ncuti's Doctor shouted: 'No way!' as he laid eyes on David, moving away from tradition which normally sees one Doctor replace another upon regeneration.
David said: 'You're me,' while Ncuti replied: 'No, I'm me. I think I'm really, really me! Oh-ho-ho I am completely me!'
When asked what had happened, Ncuti's Doctor said: 'Bi-generation, I have bi-generated. There's no such thing, bi-generation is supposed to be a myth, but-!'
The pair of Doctors then used their talents to face off with The Toymaker together and incredibly managed to beat him at his own game, sending the villain out of existence forever.
David's Doctor said: 'Best of three, and my prize, Toymaker, is to banish you from existence, for ever!'
'No, you can't. But I - not fair, please,' the Toymaker said, before giving the ominous warning: 'My legions are coming.'
After banishing The Toymaker from the world, both David and Ncuti's versions of the character stayed on screen, and went back to the TARDIS with Donna.
David asked Ncuti: 'How's this going to work, you and me?' as the huge twist saw two Doctors remain after a regeneration for the first time ever.
Ncuti told him: 'You're thin as a pin love, you're running on fumes,' before urging him to slow down and 'stop' rather than running and travelling in the TARDIS.
Ncuti then paid tribute to a whole host of former companions, including the late Elisabeth Sladen, who portrayed Sarah Jane Smith and sadly died in 2011.
'Sarah Jane has gone, can you believe that for a second?' Ncuti said as they sweetly paid tribute to the iconic actress.
Ncuti then told David's Doctor to try and lead a life of his own, to which David said: 'I've never let the TARDIS go, never, that would hurt.'
In another huge twist, Ncuti managed to transform the one TARDIS into two separate time machines as a 'reward' for them winning the game against The Toymaker, under his rules where games override logic.
The episode ended with Ncuti heading off for more time-travelling adventures in the TARDIS, while David stayed on Earth with Donna and her family, sweetly noting he'd 'never been happier in his life.''

'Doctor Who drew in a peak of 6.2M viewers for Ncuti Gatwa's much-anticipated debut as the 15th Time Lord on Saturday.
The third and final special to mark the sci-fi series' 60th Anniversary saw David Tennant's brief return to the role end when he regenerated into Sex Education star Ncuti, 31.
However, all was not as it seemed as a huge twist saw both versions of the Doctor remain on screen, in a huge move away from tradition on the long-running show.
The much-anticipated episode pulled in around 4.5million average viewers with a peak of just more than 6million, according to new overnight ratings.
In comparison, Jodie Whittaker's last ever episode as she bowed out of the role only racked in 3.6million average viewers with a peak of 4million.
Ncuti's debut came when 'creepy' returning villain The Toymaker, played by Neil Patrick Harris, shot David's Doctor through the chest, forcing him to regenerate.

The episode ended with Ncuti heading off for more time-travelling adventures in the TARDIS, while David stayed on Earth with Donna and her family in a sweet happy ending for David's character after he briefly returned to the role.
At the end of the episode, titled The Giggle, more drama was teased as a trailer for the Christmas special aired as Ncuti takes over the role permanently from David.
The drama-packed clip saw Ncuti's Doctor was seen heading off on more adventures, with new companion Millie Gibson making her debut.
Taking to X - formerly known as Twitter - to react to Ncuti's much-awaited Doctor Who debut, viewers heaped praise on the scenes.
Fans were thrilled to see David's Doctor get a happy ending after his brief return to the show, while they also gushed over Ncuti's 'show-stealing' performance.
One wrote: 'Just brilliant... and the ending we all wanted for DT. Dr Who is in safe hands with #Ncuti.'
Another said: 'Ncuti stole every scene he was in anyway imo. I'm obsessed with him. Cannot wait for Christmas.'
A third gushed: 'Ok, Ncuti! We see you! Let’s have some fun, Doctor!! So happy for Christmas Day #DoctorWho again!!! This looks absolutely brilliant.'
Another said: 'Love love love LOVED tonight’s episode! Everything about it was fantastic! Neil Patrick Harris was phenomenal. Ncuti Gatwa is a delight. Creepy, fun, thrilling, emotional - Wonderful stuff.'
Viewers also heaped praise on Neil's performance as The Toymaker on the BBC show on Saturday.
The American actor, 50, portrayed devious villain The Toymaker, who last appeared on the drama in 1966, when he was portrayed by Michael Gough in The Celestial Toymaker four-part storyline.
Showrunner Russell T Davies previously described Neil's version of The Toymaker as the 'greatest enemy the Doctor has ever faced' as the villain made his grand return in the episode titled The Giggle.
Putting his own twist on the character, viewers were left seriously impressed by his performance as they took to social media to gush over his 'creepy' performance and his character's eerie laugh.
Writing on X - formerly known as Twitter - fans argued that Neil was 'perfect' for the role as they admitted they were left with 'chills' watching his performance
One said: 'What a gift to have Neil Patrick Harris on this episode,' a second wrote: 'Well, Neil Patrick Harris does creepy pretty good.'
A third commented: 'Ten Seconds into #DoctorWho and @ActuallyNPH has me in the palm of his hands! This is a villain!.
Another tweeted: 'Not even a fan of Neil Patrick Harris and he's already giving me chills as the Toymaker #DoctorWho,' and one added: Neil Patrick Harris is perfect as The Toymaker.'
'He is recognising me, are you not pleased Doctor, to see me again after so many years!'
The original Toymaker caused William Hartnell's first Doctor to become invisible for two episodes in 1966 and had a number of living toys as his servants.
The Toymaker was an enigmatic being from outside of time and time, and David Tennant's Doctor theorized that he had allowed the villain to break into reality by playing a game at the end of the universe.
In the second 60th anniversary special Wild Blue Yonder, the Doctor cast salt on the ground in a bid to trick two villains, which allowed The Toymaker to travel into the real world.
On Saturday, eerie scenes saw the Doctor come face-to-face with The Toymaker once again as the villain turned the human race mad and turned humans into puppets for his enslavement and amusement.
Upon meeting The Toymaker, Donna Noble (Catherine Tate) asked The Doctor: 'Who is he?' to which The Doctor appeared terrified as he said: 'The Toymaker.'
'We meet again Doctor,' The Toymaker declared, before disappearing to play 'hide and seek' as his creepy laugh echoed around his toyshop.
As Donna and the Doctor tried to find their way around his toyshop, which became a maze of doors, Donna asked: 'Who is the Toymaker, what is he?'
To which the Doctor explained: 'When I was young, I was so sure of myself, I made a terrible mistake. I let the TARDIS fall into another realm... where science is a game and all of us are toys.
'He found his way into reality and I think it's all because of me. I got clever didn't I, I cast that salt at the end of the universe, I played a game and I let him in.'
The Doctor appeared terrified of The Toymaker as he tearfully told Donna that he didn't think he would be able to save her from the formidable villain.
As well as his terrifying nature and ability to change reality on Earth, The Toymaker also brought an injection of song and dance into the episode as he invaded UNIT.
The villain suddenly appeared in UNIT's base singing and dancing to the Spice Girls' anthem Spice Up Your Life and proceeded to turn people and weaponry into toys to win the battle.
In a tense face-off with the Doctor, The Toymaker then shockingly shot the Doctor, forcing him to regenerate.
Both David and Ncuti's Doctors then managed to defeat The Toymaker at his own game, banishing him from existence forever.
Elsewhere in the episode, Bonnie Langford made her hotly-anticipated return, over three decades after she originally boarded the TARDIS.
The actress reprised her role as the Doctor's former companion Melanie Bush, who was working at UNIT alongside returning character Kate Lethbridge-Stewart (Jemma Redgrave).
Bonnie made her debut on Who back in 1986 as Melanie alongside the Sixth Doctor Colin Baker, and went on to be the companion for the Seventh Doctor, Sylvester McCoy.
She came face-to-face with David's Doctor as he was brought into UNIT to help figure out who was sending the human race into madness, with everyone becoming convinced they were right, causing havoc on the streets.
Laying eyes on Melanie once again, the Doctor grinned and threw his arms around her and said it was 'the best news' that she was working with military organisation UNIT.
Melanie told Donna: 'I was like you, I was one of his companions!'
She then revealed that she had spent time travelling the stars after leaving the Doctor, before deciding to return back to Earth.
She shared: 'I had to face up to the one thing I'd been running away from, I had nothing, my family all gone. But then Kate offered me a job, and here I am!''

'"Now someone tell me what the hell is going on here!"
That was the demand of Ncuti Gatwa's Fifteenth Doctor shortly after the character made his much-anticipated debut on Saturday's final 60th-anniversary episode of Doctor Who. And he doubtless echoed the thoughts of many Whovians.
While fans of the show had long assumed that Gatwa would take over the role of the Time Lord from David Tennant in the course of the episode, titled "The Giggle," the manner in which that occurred was most definitely a surprise. After Neil Patrick Harris' villainous Toymaker shot Tennant's character through the chest with a laser, it looked as if the actor's version of the two-hearted alien would vanish before our eyes. Traditionally, in such circumstances, the Doctor's body "regenerates" completely into its next iteration, leaving no physical trace of the previous one. On this occasion, however, Gatwa's time traveler emerged from Tennant's Time Lord, meaning viewers were treated to two Doctors tackling the Toymaker.
"I have bi-generated," Gatwa's Doctor explained to his friends, including Catherine Tate's Donna Noble and Bonnie Langford's Mel Bush. "There's no such thing. Bi-generation is supposed to be a myth, but look at me!"
After the Doctors defeated the Toymaker, Gatwa's character created a twin TARDIS for Tennant and then headed off for new adventures, leaving his previous version to live something close to a normal life on Earth.
Does this surprise plot development mean we will be seeing more of Tennant on the show? Most likely. Certainly the actor enjoys playing the Time Lord. His initial five-year run on Doctor Who concluded at the start of 2010, but he returned for 2013's 50th-anniversary special and then came back again for this year's trio of 60th-anniversary episodes.
When EW asked him if he would reprise the role for the show's 70th anniversary, Tennant replied, "Who knows if I will still be able to run up and down corridors. I was pleasantly surprised that I didn’t damage my knees this time out, so I wouldn’t want to tempt fate. But should my joints still be in working order, I will certainly consider any offers if they come through in 10 years' time."...'

'Doctor Who feels like it has infinite reasons to celebrate. It is 60 years old this month, it has a flash new sugar daddy thanks to an international deal with Disney+, and it has moved on emphatically from the era of star Jodie Whittaker and writer Chris Chibnall, during which the show seemed to become smaller, looking inward when it should explode authoritatively in all directions. The most beloved showrunner of its modern era, Russell T Davies, is back – and his long-term choice for a new Doctor, Ncuti Gatwa, smacks of hope and progression, a fresh start.
Before Gatwa arrives on 25 December, however, there is an extra set of gifts, like an Advent calendar that’s just as plush as your big Christmas present. Three special episodes temporarily re-introduce David Tennant as the Doctor and Catherine Tate as his companion Donna Noble, a combination not seen in the “Whoniverse” since 2010. Their comeback is a treat, a bonus – and the first of the new stories, The Star Beast, romps merrily, just as it should.
The Doctor lands back on Earth and immediately runs into his old pal Donna, which perturbs him. Before the action starts there is the unusual sight of Tennant and Tate taking turns to address the camera in character with a plot refresher for the benefit of young, forgetful or US viewers: Donna saved the world once, but to do that her brain had to absorb all the Doctor’s wisdom, which would have melted her mind had the Doctor not stepped in and wiped her memory. Since then, she has lived an ordinary life, blighted only by a nagging sense that something is missing. If she remembers who the Doctor is – at this point Tennant juts out his chin and delivers his lines through his bottom teeth, which is how you know it’s serious – she will die.
Such is the backdrop for a story based on the 1980 comic book Doctor Who and the Star Beast. A spaceship crash lands in London, which quickly leads to a furry, 3ft-high creature called Beep the Meep holing up in Donna’s shed in a bid to escape a team of assassins called the Wrarth Warriors. The ensuing battles and chases do contain evidence of the comfy new Disney budget, mainly via the Doctor’s sonic screwdriver, which can now draw cosmic maps in the air and create floating bulletproof glass to hide behind. But Doctor Who remains kooky, slightly sitcommy and deeply British: the Meep, who Donna refers to as “mad Paddington”, is given the voice of a tremulous old biddy by Miriam Margolyes, while the Wrarth are just tall men with green heads that look as if a 1970s props designer moulded them from papier mache. The Doctor, Donna’s family and the Meep eventually escape thanks to poor brickwork in the party walls connecting a suburban Victorian terrace.
It’s fun, light and fast, but Davies is a writer who, when something needs saying, will say it proudly at the top of his voice as soon as he is given a platform. He has seen a section of the Who fanbase towards whom he wishes to reach out a hand. Donna has a daughter, Rose (Heartstopper’s Yasmin Finney), who is transgender, and some lovely early scenes set up Donna as a fierce protector of a young woman who has done what every parent hopes for and blossomed in an unforeseen way. Rose’s grandmother Sylvia (Jacqueline King), meanwhile frets about saying the wrong thing or using the wrong pronoun.
The episode’s treatment of Rose is tender, informed and, in the final reckoning, gloriously, air-punchingly affirmative – she is literally empowered by the experience. But Davies is always alive to comic possibilities too, as in the scene where the Doctor and the Noble family quiz the Meep about its own gender identity. “My chosen pronoun is the definite article – I am always ‘the’ Meep,” says the Meep.
“Oh,” replies the Doctor. “I do that.” Musing on what the Doctor’s pronouns are and concluding that they’re just “the” is a classic Davies touch.
As for that grand finale, it follows a familiar pattern for Who episodes such as this one: they’re not really trying to be classic stories because they have other functions to perform, such as introducing a new cast. There’s a neat twist halfway through that flips the story on its head and then, when all seems lost, a magic solution that just about makes sense so long as everyone promises not to rewind and study it too closely.
After that, there’s just time to reveal a fabulously expensive-looking new Tardis interior, before Tennant and Tate, their faultless comic chemistry restored, take off ready for episode two. Doctor Who is flying again.'

i know you hate effoff passionately, but do you think that eric really loved adam? I don’t think he loved rahim at all, I think he just liked having a boyfriend, but I do think eric cared and loved adam. I don’t know why everyone is acting like he wasn’t heartbroken? He was clearly hurt and even admitted that he felt like a bad person for kissing oba. And I know the scene is really darkly lit, but when he texts adam asking if they can talk, he’s clearly crying and at war with himself? I think he loved adam very much so, but he decided he loved himself more and so he chose himself and that’s fair. I actually liked them together (please don’t kill me, I hate the trope so much, but connor and ncuti have chemistry to me) but the relationship wasn’t truly healthy for either one of them, between it being built on trauma and abuse, adam being codependent, and eric feeling stifled. Anyway, I just don’t know why people are acting like eric was in any way heartless or that he didn’t love/care for adam at all. It makes me think they don’t understand his character at all. He even told his grandmother about Adam so clearly he cares about him. But sometimes putting yourself first results in hurting the ones you love. That’s life?????
honestly i don't really know how to reply to this because you're right in almost all of it and i don't really have much to add.
he loved adam for sure. he didn't seem nearly as hurt by what he did to rahim as he did with adam (he obviously felt bad about rahim but it doesn't go beyond that).
my only disagreement would be the ship itself. i never really saw them as cute, even in s3 when everyone that hated them started to like them, i couldn't see it. i personally don't see the chemistry between them, and even if rahim/eric wasn't good either, i saw the chemistry between sami and ncuti right away (and even in rewatches, it's right there).
but yeah, effoff isn't healthy, but it was necessary. they were both in love (probably still are) and i just hope they let each other go because it's not good for either of them.
