God Horus Protecting King Nectanebo II (360–343 B.C.) The pharaoh 𓉐𓉼 “pr-ˁ3” ‘Great House’ Nectanebo II (𓌸𓁫𓂡𓅃𓊖𓎳) “mri-inhr, nht-hr-nbyt) ‘the Strong One of Horus of Hebit, Beloved of Anhur’ often invoked a very close connection–even a merging–between himself 𓆓𓋴𓆑 “ḏs.f” and the falcon god 𓊹 “nṯr” of kingship, Horus. In fact, Nectanebo II was the focus of a cult in which he was referred to as "Nectanebo-the-Falcon," which could indeed be what is represented by this striking conjunction of a powerful 𓊪𓎛𓏏𓄇𓄇 “pḥty” falcon and the monarch. This idea seems to be supported by the fact that Horus 𓅃 “ḥrw” is not named on the base, only Nectanebo and the god Osiris-Mnevis, at whose sanctuary in Heliopolis 𓉺𓏌𓏏𓊖 “iwnw” the statue 𓂙𓏏𓏭𓀾 “ḫnty” may have been erected 𓊢𓂝𓂻 “ˁḥˁ”. 📸 @egyptologylessons © (@metmuseum and description) #Ancienthistory #historyfacts #historylovers #ancientegypt #hieroglyphics #ägypten #egyptologist #egyptianhistory #egyptology #hieroglyphs #egypte #egyptians #egitto #埃及 #مصر #egipto #이집트 #art #culture #history #horus #egyptianstatue #nectanebo https://www.instagram.com/p/CZ7bNNnO9XZ/?utm_medium=tumblr

Reflection
We saw all the tourist destinations and had a lovely day. As the day rolled by, it became more and more apparent to me that I am more fascinated by human interactions and how things affect people in different ways. How different people grow and how different people live. That was an immediate feeling once we arrived. The town is so quiet and peaceful, whereas my friend is so energetic. I thought how can this boy be from here?
The town is very small and everyone is very friendly was my experience. The lifestyle seems to be very healthy compared to the life I live back home. Their lockdown consisted of lots of runs and bike rides and healthy diets. I found this very interesting.
Then during my trip I began documenting in a diary style, explaining my day and the memories we experienced. We had a lot of laughs, as Eric told us stories from School. He told us about the gangs in ‘NB’ and that they go by the ‘NBYT’.
I did a painting of Eric, as I much prefer studying people and this seems to just be where I tend to journey into naturally when I research. Because of this I did some research into why friendships are important for mental health. This is really what got me through lockdown and I think for me is what makes a place special is the company you travel with.
I then did some research into the North Berwick witch trials. A number of people were accused of witchcraft in the St Andrew’s Auld Kirk. The reason I did this research was because...
I decided the best way to combine all the research I had collected was to create a short story. It is a fictional story inspired by my friends and I. We have adventures in North Berwick and the moral is our friendship is what keeps us happy and safe.

Theaters were among the first to go “dark”—an industry term meaning that no events or performances are scheduled—during the current COVID-19 pandemic. No Boundaries Youth Theater in New Britain has been no exception, and the children’s theater has cancelled or postponed classes and performances along with thousands of other arts and cultural venues throughout the country.
Unlike other theaters…

The Temple of Kom Ombo 𓋞𓃀𓇌𓏏𓊖 “nwbyt” ‘City of Gold” It was originally an Egyptian 𓂋𓐝𓎀𓀂𓀭𓏪 “rmṯ” city/town 𓊖𓏏𓏤 “nı͗w.t” called Nubyt, meaning City of Gold (not to be confused with the city north of Naqada that was also called Nubt/Ombos). Nubt is also known as Nubet or Nubyt (Nbyt). It became a Greek settlement during the Greco-Roman Period. The town's location on the River Nile 𓎛𓂝𓊪𓏭𓈘𓈗 “ḥpy”, 50 kilometres (31 mi) north of Aswan 𓋴𓃹𓈖𓏌𓏲𓌕𓊖 “swnw” (Syene), gave it some control over trade routes from Nubia 𓇾𓈇𓏤𓐮𓏏𓏭𓈊 “tA-sety” ‘Land of the Bows’ to the Nile Valley, but its main rise to prominence came with the erection of the Temple 𓉞𓉐 “ḥw.t” of Kom Ombo in the 2nd century BC. In the photo you see the images of Seshat 𓋇𓏏𓁐 “sš3.t” (female figure) and Horus 𓅄 “ḥrw” (falcon zoomorphic figure). 📸 @brightboy1968 𓋹𓎬𓋹𓎬𓋹𓎬𓋹𓎬𓋹𓎬𓋹𓎬𓋹𓎬𓋹𓎬𓋹𓎬𓋹𓎬𓋹𓎬𓋹𓎬𓋹𓎬𓋹𓎬𓋹𓎬𓋹𓎬 Follow: @egyptologylessons 𓋹𓊽𓋴𓆖𓎛𓇳𓎛 𓊁𓊁𓊁𓊁𓊁𓊁𓊁𓊁𓊁𓊁𓊁𓊁𓊁𓊁𓊁𓊁𓊁 #Ancienthistory #historyfacts #historylovers #ancientegypt #hieroglyphics #ägypten #egyptologist #egyptianhistory #egyptology #hieroglyphs #egypte #egyptians #egitto #埃及 #مصر #egipto #이집트 #art #culture #history #komombo #egyptiantemple https://www.instagram.com/p/CVnMiIpreZi/?utm_medium=tumblr

my dad watched too many horror movies with me as a kid. i never wanted to watch them, i’d sit there with a pillow over my face. i was so frightened of zombies that i’d be in absolute terror every time my mother took me to the cemetery

"Tasenetneferet Lady of Ombos (Nbyt), daughter of Ra, Lady of the Sky, Queen of all the Gods", (translation of the two rows of hieroglyphs on the top right) represented enthroned, wearing the vulture cap and the Solar disk with cow's horns, holding the 'Ankh' and the papyrus-scepter. Tasenetneferet, “the good and beautiful sister” is a form of Hathor worshipped at Ombos (Nbyt, in the I nome of Upper Egypt) as the mother of Panebtawy (“the Lord of the Two Lands”) and wife of Haroeris (Horus the Ancient). Drawing from "Panthéon égyptien, collection des personnages mythologiques de l'ancienne Égypte, d'apres les monuments" by J. F. Champollion

(for the ask game)
17 & 42 :)
17. what is your favorite line you’ve ever written?
ooh this is a tough one. nbyt specific I think my favorite line is all the way back in chapter 2: “That figments created in ink, in ideas, are one thing and flesh is another.”
I do a lot of poetry on my free time (or try to at least) and this line came from a little rough poem draft
42. describe the aesthetic of a story in 5 words.
mm aesthetic of nbyt. probably...
hurt, healing, heart, hope and h-queer.
I want to do one for my elmax fic “stop making a fool out of me!” too. a little bonus content. for that one I would say:
lightning, flannel, family, flirt and peppermint
tysm for the questions <3 pls ask more! I love doing this
