I've moved my unfinished Guiding Light Otalia epic from LiveJournal to AO3 for convenience. And because a very sweet person commented on the story on LJ and noted they'd had to create an account just to leave it. I felt terrible about that.

At least once a year I rewatch a lesbian love story and this time I rewatched Otalia and let me tell you. That story had and continues to have me enthralled. I love that story so much. Then I go down a youtube spiral and a fic marathon and then rinse and repeat.

Middle-aged lesbian storylines on soaps...
I am enjoying Suki/Eve on Eastenders lately. Some folks comments though suggest that its the first middle aged lesbian love story on soaps. I guess it always is, if it's the first one you've seen.
I'm sure you all know about this, but if not, you might fine this one interesting.
OTALIA -- Guiding Light (US) -- 2008-2009 -- Much married vamp Olivia Spencer falls for good woman Natalia Rivera -- Otalia ended up up together forever when the 75year run of Guiding Light ended in 2009.
One thing you might find interesting as well is that during the two years of Otalia the network cut the budget significantly and experimented with new methods of soap production. Ironically it was a much more British style. Instead of multi-camera in box sets in a studio, they moved to handheld cameras, on site in a real town in New Jersey. Its fascinating to watch the change.
