cold air, late night, messy kitchen. sink filled with pots and pans and youre wiping down every last spot of icing thats left on your kitchen counter. “ happy birthday komaeda! “ written on the birthday cake.

tomorrow is your lovely boyfriends birthday and you wanted to make it special and hopeful for him. you stayed up extra late, baking him the yummiest birthday cake ever… however it was embarrasingly difficult. it made you realize you could never be a house husband.

anyway, you carefully put the cake on a plate, one that komaeda got you on your first anniversary. it was a pretty flower shape, the edges colored in your favorite color. komaeda was in your shared room, being forced to stay there by you so that you could make the cake without him seeing.

You cleaned up as much as you could before it reached 11:59pm, then you carefully walked over to the door of your shared bedroom. you knew komaeda was awake, he’s never asleep at this time. the second it hit 12am, you opened the door and started singing komaeda a happy birthday song.

each candle brightly lit with flames of hope, your voice softly singing him happy birthday. it’s all he could ever need really. he thanks you, telling you “ scum like him doesnt deserve it “ but he knows you dont think that way. you give him a little kiss as you make him blow out his candles.

“ well? what did you wish for? “ you ask, tilting your head curiously. he tells you that he feels as though trash like him doesnt deserve to tell you what he wishes for. you beg him for an answer. eventually you give up and you to just spend the rest of the night together eating cake. you fall asleep, exhausted next to him. he holds you close, whispering apologies for “ dirtying “ you even if you cant hear them. its silent.

“ i wished to spend every single one of my birthdays with you. even if we’re sworn enemies or married. i just want to spend them all with you. “

Okay okay okay so-

As I’ve said before, Nagito is very much the type to force you to cut contact with anyone from the outside world- even your family.

Which, y’know, isn’t good for your mental health, but Nagito doesn’t care-

No matter how much you beg and try to enforce the fact that you need to talk to other living people, Nagito believes that the despair has already gotten to you.

“I’m sorry you have to talk to scum like me, but I promise it’s for your safety </3” Etc etc etc.

In case you’re the type of person who gets mean in desperate situations (or all situations)

That wouldn’t help either, all it does is make Nagito ramble on and on about how he’s trash and that of course someone as amazing and talented as you would think that-

An endless loop of guilt-tripping between you and Nagito-

Not to mention the threats, smh. Most of them are empty; he wouldn’t kill you ofc, that would break him- he wouldn’t have anything to obsess over,, so much despair.

But he’ll be a little rough to scare you- only a little

Then he’ll just toss you in your room-

But hey, at least your room is comfy!

Cold, kinda smells like bleach, but hey there’s a bed and pillows :0

Nagito doesn’t keep you locked up 24/7- you get to wander around the place and eat, of course, but once it gets late or you piss him off, you’re stuck back in your room for the rest of the night.

If you try and fight back, you get to stay in the room for the whole day ^^

At least the foods good 😌

Nagito isn’t always that bad,,

Sometimes, he feels guilty when he sees you all sad in the corner, so he won’t only let you out of the room but out of the house!

Under his super vision of course, we wouldn’t want you running away now would we!

He worked to hard to let you escape that easily..

Ah that reminds me, he honestly isn’t aware of any escape attempts you’ve planned.

But the moment you do try and escape, you fuck up- which makes him always on edge afterwards, you had to stay in the room for a few weeks afterwards 👁 at least for the first time

What is your opinion on danganronpa 2.5?

hello anon! thank you SO MUCH letting me ramble!!! :)

I really do love Danganronpa 2.5, I think it's really cool that they explain more how everyone was waken up, I also adore that the plot is based off of statements in Danganronpa 2 only elaborating and exploring them more. Not only that, but they make it all about Nagito who's the same character that is complex enough to have three entire songs haha!! So it works out well.

2.5 reverses Nagito's luck cycle which makes it easier to understand and I really love it. It also adds the statement that truly Nagito would rather have his luck not harm others but rather help them and harm himself, there's also the detail that Nagito's luck is so prominent in his life that even in a world made by his subconscious it is always there. It also implies he deep down wishes talent didn't exist which is something he'd never admit or even know he felt with his unhealthy obsession and dedication with hope and the ultimates!!!

I really enjoy world destroyer too, I think his scenes are very interesting, like, ok man thanks for pulling up with your FINGER GUNS??? It's super cool!! His design is pretty interesting too even if it's just adding to Hajime's preexisting one.

I also like the detail that alongside Nagito's own death the memories that he remembers most vividly is Hajime's smile and his time with him which is just very sweet

The moments with Makoto and Sayaka being out of character because Nagito views them, especially Makoto, so highly is super funny too. Kazuichi and Fuyuhiko's friendship is also fun and something we don't get to see often! The background characters we get to see are also just very fun.

I find it really interesting that by swapping Nagito's belief with the opposite it's basically telling what the genuine issue is in their world because his beliefs stems from the flawed ideals of hope's peak. The issue in their world isn't the talentless, it's the talented. No one is happy, talentless people feel worthless, and being talented is exhausting in its own way. All of the social pressure of not being treated as humans being at its most extreme in this world is upsetting for most everyone.

Danganronpa 2.5 has a lot of REALLY good stuff going on for it, I think the only complaint I see about it is Nagito's "contradiction," which I'll talk a little bit about!

Basically, people like to point out that with Nagito's suicide plan he should have been more upset, "He never believed in Hajime though?"

I've seen a few pretty good interpretations of it, but the one I think makes most sense is that he was talking more to Izuru kamakura since he had gotten his memories back. Nagito's old and new memories merge together, he remembers pretty much everything. Which is why he sees Izuru first, then corrects himself seeing Hajime, and Hajime replies that they're both him.

Nagito then says he knew he'd make it to the lowest stratum, and that he believed in him. Basically saying that Izuru could do anything.

Maybe he believed the supposedly Bad luck from going into the Neo World Program would end up in Good luck? It's unclear a bit, but I definitely believe he's talking to Izuru a bit at the very least. Mostly because if he believed in Hajime in the killing game his luck cycle wouldn't have gone, good luck: the traitor was selected, bad luck: the plan didn't work and they lived.

Nagito has known Hajime and Izuru now and accepts him for who he is. It's honestly really sweet. Hajime himself has grown and accepts Nagito for who he is as well. They both forgive each other and it's just really sweet. They've been through a lot!

Overall little rambles aside, I think Danganronpa 2.5 is really lovely. It adds more to Nagito's character, tells more information about how the class woke up while using actual text from Danganronpa 2, and is just super fun! I love Danganronpa 2.5 a lot.

Izuru, writing:

...herd of wild unicorns grazed in the middle distance. Nagito grabbed my arm and pointed in excitement. The orc park ranger said it was fine to approach them, so we introduced ourselves politely to a few of the mares. Their manes were extremely silky and their coats were understatedly fluffy. Soon they were pressing around us because everyone wanted neck rubs, then one of them discovered ear scratches so we had to start over again. The park ranger had noticed that Nagito is the most beautiful thing in the cosmos so he asked him to pose for publicity photos with the unicorns. We were late setting up our picnic but it was fun...
