Anon, this is so cute! Conveniently enough we finally watched the second half of the Yodonna special just the other night, so I have a good mental image to hand of what it'd look like if Stinger got captured by mobsters.
At this point the issue isn't so much with the remnants of the Jark Matter command structure as it is with the hangers-on. Organized crime had flourished under Don Armage's rule, which is hardly surprising, and even knowing that he can't ever possibly deal with all of it, Stinger's been working himself to exhaustion trying to uproot every poisonous criminal weed he can find.
Of course, said exhaustion is probably why he's now tied to a chair in a crime boss's lavish apartment while his own blood drips into his eyes. Maybe he's been getting a little sloppy.
Boss Kujira, who has a full head of improbably curly hair despite looking otherwise like a large, bipedal frog, is sitting across from him in a much nicer chair. "So," he's saying, calm as anything, "I have to say, I'm kind of impressed, it took two months before anyone even had an idea that something might be funny about you. Although I admit we were maybe a little distracted, we don't see a lot of you Sasori types around here. Who do you work for? I bet I can pay you better."
Stinger considers this and quietly resolves to ask Tsurugi for a raise, but says nothing. If he focuses, he can maybe get his tail moving a bit, get his arms free--
"Or maybe not. Hey, Lenny, he's got the tail, right? Those things valuable?"
Stinger freezes with his tail centimeters off the ground as the drab person tucked into the corner checks their handheld and says, quietly, "The tail has no particular market value, but the venom is saleable--"
"Well, that's something--"
"--when obtained from a living specimen. Venom from the dead loses its potency."
That's nonsense, though, venom is venom whether the Scorpion who created it is alive or dead, and Stinger twists around to look at Lenny.
Who winks at him very slowly from behind an obscuring curtain of white hair.
There's a knock at the door, and a buoyant voice in the hallway says, "Hey hey hey! I've got a pizza delivery for some crime guy?"
Boss Kujira leaps to his feet, and the thugs standing at his shoulders start to move, but before they can do anything, they're knocked off their feet by the door, which goes flying off its hinges as an enormous, light blue fist slams through the doorway.
Balance, who is carrying a pizza box, strolls into the room and waves. "Hey, baby."
Lenny--Naaga--puts aside his handheld and says, "Hello, Balance."
Boss Kujira's eyes go wide. "Lenny? You sold me out?"
"Lenny is enjoying his retirement elsewhere. My name is Naaga Rei."
There's a racket in the hallway, and the sound of Kotaro saying, "I can't really get through the door like this--"
"Don't worry about it!" Another, equally familiar buoyant voice. "We can just knock a hole in the wall, right? Lucky thing we found him so quickly!"
The thugs have very nearly gotten out from under the door when Lucky comes rocketing in and lands squarely on top of it, knocking them over again. "All right, lucky, I landed on my feet this time!" He beams at Stinger, waving. "Tsurugi got called away on some urgent politics thing, but I was passing through and got your extraction signal! And Balance and Naaga were in the area, and Kotaro's been worried sick about you so he was already on his way! Lucky, yeah?"
Stinger very nearly lets out a sigh of relief. "That does sound like you."
There's a thump, the wall around the doorway cracks and Stinger hears Kotaro mutter several words that he didn't think Kotaro knew. Then after a moment Kotaro comes through the doorway at his usual size but still in costume, walks directly up to Boss Kujira, and says, cheerfully, "Hi! You're under arrest!"
Boss Kujira gapes down at him. "How old are you?"
"I turn fourteen in a few weeks." Kotaro reaches for his Kyuutamas. "But I can get big again if you want."
"No, uh, that's fine, I surrender."
Kotaro handcuffs Kujira as Balance and Lucky are taking care of the thugs and Naaga is undoing the ropes binding Stinger to the chair. When his arms are free, Stinger stretches, and then winces when Kotaro thumps into him. "Hey, uh. It's ok, I'm fine."
Kotaro's Kyuuranger suit dissolves into his usual uniform, and he doesn't stop hugging. "I'm gonna kick Tsurugi."
"I promise I'm fine." Stinger pats him awkwardly on the shoulder. "I'm, uh...I'm sorry I scared you."
"I'm not scared," Kotaro says to the middle of his chest, "I'm mad, he's supposed to tell me when he's sending you somewhere super dangerous."
"I mean, we can't exactly go telling people when I have undercover work."
"I'm not people, you're my brother."
Stinger blinks. "That's...you're right, I'm sorry, I should have let you know." He extricates himself from the hug, wraps an arm around Kotaro's shoulders instead, and kisses him on the temple before turning to Kujira and saying, "So, as my brother was just saying," and he can feel Kotaro grin next to him, "you're under arrest for, among other things, money laundering, tax evasion, manufacturing and distribution of illegal substances, trafficking of sapient beings--"
"He also threatened to cut your tail off, or possibly extract your venom for sale," Naaga says, helpfully.
Kotaro freezes. "He what."
"--and threatening to cut my tail off, I'm not sure what that would be covered under."
"Several things," Naaga says, "depending on how he planned to do it, what he said while doing it, and what he intended to do with it."
"You didn't say he was going to cut your tail off!"
"It had just come up when you all got here, don't worry about it. Would you hand me a cloth or something, by the way? I still have blood in my eyes. You have the right to remain silent, and anything you do say can and will be used against you--"

Once again the calendar has reached the lovely day of April 4 (three weeks ago)! That means it is (was) the birthday of my favorite Precure, Yukishiro Honoka! 20 years after her series she would be about 34 years old today, if she were real.
It's no great secret that the formula for the original series was taking two girls from opposite walks of life and teaming them up, to represent the strength of friendship. Honoka's charm was her intelligence and pursuit of science, while remaining kind and fairly humble despite her wealthy background. Without Nagisa's influence she probably wouldn't be taking many risks, and without Honoka's influence, Nagisa would probably be dead. Well, neither of them would be Precure so probably not, but both would definitely be worse off.
I haven't actually watched Otona Precure yet, but it is my understanding that Black and White appear at the very end of the last episode, looking the same as ever. I'm not clear if they have any dialog. The Kamikta Twins (the most consistently quality part of this fandom) released a piece of artwork that included aged up designs for Nagisa and Honoka. I have to assume they're official and Toei-sanctioned.
Last year, I said I hoped for an Otona-style sequel to FWPC. The middling to negative reception of the series has me second guessing that. But the art is nice.

Anaya Nayanar, also known as Anaya and Anayar, is a Nayanar saint, venerated in the Hindu Shaivite sect. Anaya is considered to be the 14th of the 63 Nayanars. His playing of the Panchakshara (five-syllable mantra 🌟na, ma, śi, vā, ya🌟) on his flute so pleased the god, Shiva, that he took Anaya away to the eternal world.

The life of Anayar is described in the Thirutthondar Puranam (Periya Puranam) by Sekkizhar, which documents the Histories of the 63 Nayanmar. Anaya is described as a cowherd (ஆயர் or Aayar). Anayar was born and lived his life in Tirumangalam (Thirumangalam), currently in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Tirumangalam is a place of pilgrimage, famous for its Samavedeshvarar Temple, dedicated to Supreme Lord Shiva. Aanaayar used to tend cows. He used to take the cows for grazing in the pastures outside of the town. He used to protect the cattle from disease and beasts of prey. Anayar used to smear Sacred Ash on His body. In the meadows, He used to play the Panchakshara (Five-Letter) Mantra of Supreme Lord Shiva on his flute. Music was his way of worshipping Lord Shiva. A verse from Periya Puranam tells about how he crafted a flute from bamboo, as prescribed in the science of music (Gandharva Shastra).

One day at the onset of the monsoon, Anayar started playing the Holy Five Letter Word on His flute under the Konrai tree, which is sacred to Lord Shiva, in a garden of blossoming konrai trees. The Periya Puranam devotes several verses to describe the natural beauty of the location.
✨Aanaaya Naayanaar spread sweet melody all aound, playing on his flute with supreme skill, according to the prescribed technique. The basic note of the music - Panchaakshara - streamed sweetly like celestial nectar mixed with honey into the ears of the listeners. Entranced by this the herd of cows forgot to chew the cud, after cropping the tender shoots of grass; the little calves with mouths on the udders of the cows let the foaming milk drip down on the ground; the might-horned bulls and the wild animals like the deer came near, with the hairs of the body standing on end. The dancing peacocks stood still; the flocks of birds with their hearts filled with melody, kept quiet as in a swoon; the herdsmen left tasks incomplete. The 'Naagas', inhabitants of the underworld came out of their caverns; the celestial ladies gathered in the heavens and stood quite charmed; the other denizens of the outer space - the Gandharvas, Charanaas and the Kinnaras - too crowded the sky in their chariots. The heavenly damsels feeding their pet parrots on nectar under the shade of the Kalpaka tree, hurried to drink in the sweet music. Both the weak and the strong were caught in the same spell - the serpent with the venomous fangs leaned gently on the peacock; the unmoving lion and the huge tusker kept company; the deer with the grass in its mouth stood by the side of the tiger. ✨All nature too came under this spell - the wind ceased to blow and the blossoming branches of the trees stirred not; the streams and brooks meshing down the mountain stopped dead in their tracks; the clouds lay quiet and shed no drops of rain; the lightning did not flash and there was not a ripple in the wide seas. ✨Thus all things - movable and immovable - lay ensnared in the mesh of the nectarine music that flowed from the sweet-red lips of Aanaaya Naayanaar touching his flute. ✨Ah, the sweet music welling up from the gushing love of the player for the feet of his Lord, which filled earth and heaven then filled the ears of the indwelling Lord dancing in the Golden Hall, hard to reach for all those lacking in real Love.
✨Next, the Lord, with His consort, the very soul of compassion - He from whom all sound and music arise - the three-eyed Supreme being - appeared in the heavens, seated on His Bull-Mount. ✨His crowding hosts kept utterly quiet, so as not to disturb the music of the Panchakshara which the dancing Lord relished so much! ✨The Lord then declared: "Come unto Me, in the same pose as you now are, to enable the righteous devotees to savour your music ever" ✨This Naayanaar willingly complied! ✨The celestials rained flowers on earth; the sages chanted the Vedic hymns, while the flute continued with melody. ✨The Lord and His devotee then entered the Golden Hall at Chidambaram.

Note: Rasikas may recall in this context the techniques of music portrayed in Silappadhikaram and the effect of Sri Krishna playing on His flute graphically described by Sage Suka, Periyaazhvaar and Arunagirinathar.
A rasika is a term for an aesthete of Indian classical music. The term is derived from the Sanskrit word 'rasa', meaning full of passion, elegant, and with discrimination. Connoisseur - An expert able to appreciate a field; especially in the fine arts.

That said, the romance is a key part of the story!
Snape’s love interest is not a student or a professor. She is one year older than him and their relationship developed while he was a Death Eater. (She is not a Death Eater though!) I find this is a fairly rare dynamic to find with Snape ships so hopefully it’s of interest for people looking for something a little different!

Protection From Snakes - The Sanatana Dharma Way
We as Hindus do not believe in unnecessary violence, we are allowed to fight to defend ourselves but we do not invite battles, this is true even with venomous creatures.
You may probably already know that there is a tale about the sarpa yaaga - a sacred sacrifice for killing all kinds of serpents, demonic, mortal and divine, hosted by the great king Janamejaya the son of Pareekshit.
His intention was to avenge his father’s killer - takshaka the serpent king. in this post I wont be narrating the whole story in detail. May be that's for another day.
Today I received a question regarding protection from serpents and i Remembered this chapter of Mahabharata. ‘
With the help of powerful sages like utthanga and others, King Janamejaya conduction this sacrificial fire ritual for days and months, yet his anger did not come down as he still couldn't attract Takshaka and push him into the holy fire and finish him off .
Meanwhile, The divine serpent kings requested Astika a sage who was born to Jaratkaaru rishi (male) and Jaratkaaru devi (female) . Jaratkaaru devi is one of the great serpent mothers (naaga maatas)
Astika went to janameyajas yagya and praised him with poetry. pleased by the praises janameya offered to grant anything he wanted. Astika wished that this sarpa yaaga should stop. bound by the vow, the honest and noble king janamejaya stopped the sacrifice ritual.
There sage astika also made a promise that if he astika and this incident is remembered by humans and they request serpents not to hurt them, they will have to leave silently without causing any harm and the humans shouldnt kill the snakes unnecessarily.
Whenever a human encounters a snake this pact is reminded to the snake in the form of 2 shlokas. this shloka is a part of sandhyawandanam (daily morning and evening prayer rites to the sun) of some sects
the verses are :
सर्पापसर्प भद्रं ते दूरं गच्छ महायशाः |
जनमेजयस्य यज्ञान्ते आस्तीक वचनं स्मरन् ||
sarpāpasarpa bhadraṃ te dūraṃ gaccha mahāyaśāḥ |
janamejayasya yajñānte āstīka vacanaṃ smaran ||
O snake, please move away quickly, me there be good fortune to you , blessings to you. O glorious one please go far away , remembering the promise given by sage āstīka during the end of janamejaya’s yajña.
जरत्कारोर्जरत्कार्वां समुत्पन्नो महायशाः |
आस्तीकः सत्यसन्धो मां पन्नगेभ्योऽभिरक्षतु ||
jaratkārorjaratkārvāṃ samutpanno mahāyaśāḥ |
āstīkaḥ satyasandho māṃ pannagebhyo'bhirakṣatu ||
May the truthful and greatly glorious āstīkaḥ who was born to jaratkāru through jaratkāru protect me from snakes.
This shloka is the shloka 22 from chapter 53 of adi parva (the first canto) of Maharbharata.
These two shlokas are prayer verses to protect ourselves from snakes.
if you notice the nature of the verses they show no hate for snakes , they respectfully request the snakes to move away to avoid mutual harm.
Its said that when anyone sees a snake in reality or in dream , chanting these shlokas and requesting the snake not to cause any harm and to go away. is followed since the time of janamejaya
