why is auteurism bad for women? i don't really know a lot about film theory but i've seen you make this point and i'm curious

basically because women are rarely given the chance to direct and auteur theory prioritizes the director above everything else so it kind of writes women out of film history entirely lol. too much focus on the director is just bad from a labour rights point of view also because it erases the contributions of everyone else working on set (who are very often being un or underpaid) and makes it more difficult to advocate for better wages etc. because the director is seen by the industry as a whole as the most important figure and everyone else on the crew (for the most part) is seen as interchangeable. the auteur is mostly a marketing tool for the festival circuit now though and now everyone is pretending to be feminist we might see a shift in the gendering of auterism soon...but who knows! anyways thats just my opinion

I remember when I was through with the adderall in college I gave it to my coworker’s daughter for free and she was so shocked I didn’t want it just for funsies or money. Like no sis I absolutely loathed this, it made me explicitly aware that my metabolic and cognitive processes were being manually overclocked. I’d rather, you know, be able to eat and sleep regularly.

The fact that I had gone through the same sort of thing in middle school...absurd.

ah yeah as some of you probably know i used to be very emo (still am a little) so,, my chemical romance. they were one of the first bands i really listened to (i believe the first one was linkin park) and i still love them a lot. they made me listen to more music and different bands and that just helped me so much to get through difficult times.
