#my hero academia #boku no hero academia #aizawa shouta #Aizawa fan art #eraserhead #so my favorite take on Aizawa's life post-UA is where he just. continues to spiral #after they graduate he continues to pull away from Hizashi and Nem until they hardly ever hear from him. it's like pulling teeth getting hi #on the phone and impossible to see in person. working himself to death in the underground hero world and making pennies #sometimes so deep in it that he has bouts of houselessness but refuses to ask anyone for help. for YEARS.#so when his friends finally pry themselves an opening they find him at rock bottom and are the only real reason he gets pulled out of it at #all to become the Aizawa we know in canon #he spends the next few years after leaving UA and prior to joining an agency as a self-described terrible friend and all he's good for is #being an underground hero so he runs himself down to do so #I love fics that focus on this era it's so good #they get Dark but that's how I like em #more of that please #and all of my Aizawa art adheres to this telling of his past #even in the Yabureme AU #(but not Immolation AU lmao)

do you know how fucking infuriating it is to go into the duke tag for posts abt one of my favorite characters only to be met with post after post of people who don't gaf abt him but want to pretend that they do by deciding to project their lack of interest in him onto the story itself. by saying over and over and over and over that the only way he fits into the dynamic of his family is by being fucking "normal" when that literally isn't the case. like it's fully entirely made up. pick up one comic with him in it, any at all and that's disproven. he only exists to juxtapose their chaos, their trauma, their quirkiness. I think that reply pissed me off so bad I reached my breaking point. it's already so hard to find any content of him at all but the stuff people make is always, always discrediting him entirely.

i see a lot of people planning their dark urge characters to always be merciless and never resisting the urges which is still very cool as it’s own thing

but i really like the idea of the dark urge being very charming and unassuming (a bard maybe) that does all the right things to charm their party and the people they save but behind the scenes satisfies the need for violence and then eventually when everyone trusts each other they betray them in the most hurtful way

I’m being so ffr rn, if the show runners definitively show that Buddie is not going to happen?

I’m probably not going to be watching anymore.

I mean it when I say that they’re literally the sole reason I watched this show in the first place. I saw a billion TikTok edits of them & was like “Idek these characters I need to watch this show and see what’s going on over there.”

And like, it’s a fun show, I’m not saying it isn’t, but first responder shows are a dime a dozen. There are other shows that have queer characters and found family and wild adventures. Granted, they don’t have Buck & his bi arc, but I’d still read fanfics to get my Evan Buckley fix lol.

I don’t need them right now, I’m so down for the slow burn, will-they-won’t-they & the pining & the yearning & the build up and the GOOD foundation. I want to see Eddie figuring himself out and dealing with his repression and figuring out he’s queer (& Demi, pls God. I hope if I just say it enough, I can will it into existence somehow) before anything happens with the two of them, but if they take definitive steps to have one of them like, marry someone else or something, I think I’m gonna head out. Find me on ao3 for the rest of my days lol.

Regarding 'The Norwood Builder', Michael Cox and Jeremy Brett had a long, hard discussion about the part of the script where Holmes disguises himself when he hides in the woods and meets a tramp. It really wasn't much of a disguise as such: there was no false nose, wig or other artificial aids. All we got was Jeremy in mufti, with unkempt hair and a dirty face.

Michael Cox recalls:

'Jeremy said, "Holmes was taken unawares and would not have his make-up with him out at Norwood, Michael." So what he decided he would do is wash the gunge out of his hair and do a sort of country accent and play him as a totally different person but not someone who looks startlingly different. Frankly, I was a bit disappointed. I wanted him to do something more exotic. But I can see the logic of his position. So we went with Jeremy on that.'

It is a case of Brett being true to Holmes and the situation, but, I suspect, the viewing public would be on Michael's side on this issue. It would have been far more satisfying to see him buried beneath some glorious concoction rather than the grubby, real Brett that we got.
