#bonus under the cut where they're just a tiny bit closer because i couldn't decide which one was better#lairon#lairon is also pretty good. they have this Really big nose thing happening here which i'm not sure if it's supposed to be a nose or not#but it definitely looks like one from this angle. it definitely Looks like they're snifsnifsnifsniffing that kind of vibe#even though it's kinda on the top of their head. either way lairon is a steel-type and that's inherently cool#i very much like steel-types that look less like Objects or Mechanisms and more like Creatures. Every year I forget how depressing it is that my husband doesn't like Christmas baking
#read: anything with glacé cherries or glacé peel in it#read: anything that tastes remotely special and like Christmas#i mean if this is the biggest trial in our marriage we're probably doing ok#still every year it comes around and i want to get excited by all the special baking that's so full of memories and it's just ugh#hopefully the children don't grow to share his tastes 🤣#though i swear i saw young sir wrinkling his nose at a cherry today and I thought noooooooooo#i've found a few workarounds like making my own marzipan instead of almond icing for the cake which he seems to be able to stomach better#and sometimes I've done mince pies with a sweet cranberry filling which have gone down ok#oh and if i glacé my own cherries he likes them better they just look kinda dull#and it's an extra job lol#sigh#those macarons i posted earlier should be non-contentious 😅

#these are out of order#drawfee#Drawtectives#truebeans#Jancy true#day 4 of my musculature and nervous system being totally fucked but today was a lot better#wip#i can't decide exactly what i want joe to say in each panel#look at that fucking nose I'm so proud of that dang nose#suggestions for dialogue are welcome but i cannot guarantee I'll use it i will just be happy to hear it lol#just more fuel for this gay little fire#i fucking freehanded all these hands! i have been practicing a LOT these past couple years#and i still need to be faster but i have come so far and that rules#like i am actually a good enough artist now that it is at the level i need it to be for a graphic novel! fucking amazing!#the catch is that it will take me 30 years to complete so. yeah i gotta gO FAST#the only thing for it is practice and study but luckily I'm gay and autistic so that's gonna happen anyway#the learning goal of this comic is experimenting with simplified color schemes and a simplified pencil art style#except I totally got carried away and the art style is actually way more detailed than if I had just used a normal pen tool#it is a super satisfying way to draw though so it's a win-win#so excited to be done house sitting at the end of the week and then never leave my apartment to go on a trip ever again#or at least not for a hot minute#I worked really hard to set up my desk at home and I have never before so longed for the cold comforting glow of my huion tablet

is it silly that i genuinely think learning to do my makeup is one of the best things i’ve ever done?
tags for an explanation-
#to preface this- obviously i don’t think that anyone should EVER feel like they have to wear makeup to look presentable#not wearing makeup is normal and there is no bare minimum for makeup products anyone should be required to wear#but in the past year i’ve started to learn how to properly do my makeup#and honestly? it’s one of the greatest skills i’ve learned#it’s really therapeutic (despite the wild strings of cursing that comes from doing eyeliner)#the brushes and stuff have such a nice texture on my face and in my hands- it automatically calms me down#i love the packaging of all the products (i feel like a crow whenever i’m shopping for new ones bc i love the pretty bottles and tubes)#it’s honestly just fun to do as well- like using highlighter on the tip of my nose? that shit gives me so much serotonin holyyyyy#and i get to feel extra pretty for a little bit after i first put it on which is always a bonus!!#my hands have gotten steadier (though they’re still kinda wobbly it’s manageable)#there is no feeling better than getting an eyeliner wing perfect first try#plus i get to have glitter on my face?! HELL YEAH!!!!#i dunno just. i’m glad i taught myself cause it makes me really happy#fuck the beauty industry though. there’s so much bullshit there#FUCK anyone and anything that preys on and creates insecurities to sell products. it’s BULL. the downside of having strong features is that i’m never able to fully experiment with makeup the way i want to without looking like a clown, but the upside is that im lazy and on a time crunch most mornings so i can do ‘minimal’ looks that require like 0 effort

i am so glad im vaccinated because it turns out i have definitely had covid this last week and like. i was sicker than the last time i had covid but it still really amounted to a rough cold for me and if i hadn’t been vaccinated i can imagine it would have been so much worse

Got a nose piercing awhile ago but it ended up rejecting and I'm finally going to get another one! Going to schedule the appt tomorrow

study your own art, the way you would someone else’s. look at what you like about it. look at what you don’t like about it.
look at your sketches. look at your lines. look at your colors. all parts of your process. maybe you wanna try x new thing next time? imagine how that would look.
not only does it let you know what you want to do more practice with, it also gives you inspo for your next pieces, and improves your self esteem because you Have To give yourself a compliment :)
