some eddie and wayne hc for those in need

When he was really young Eddie made potions in a tin outside using leaves and rainwater and whatever he could get his hands on. Rocks? Throw them in, coffee granules? In the potion! Pepto bismol Wayne left lying out one morning? Stick it in there! Ediie tried to take little bottles of it everywhere, convinced it would offer him 'protection'. Wayne caught him trying to drink it once. He kept a closer eye on the kid since then

Before moving to Hawkins Eddie and Wayne used to live with Eddie's Nana. They both absolutely adored that woman. She and Wayne instilled that 'Munsons have manners Eddie!' so even now Eddie remembers his 'please and thank yous', his 'sir and ma’ams' even when painfully sarcastic and in the face of authority

Both Eddie's grandmothers were called nana Eddie started calling his favourite nene which eventually morphed into 'nees'. She laughed when he called her 'nee' for the first time 'what?! knee? i don't even get 2? At my age I need all the knees I can get!'

When they all lived together eddie used to put on ‘shows’ of whatever he was obsessed with at the moment. This quickly turned into a full dramatic retelling of LOTR that required extensive audience participation. He’d make it as ‘immersive’ as possible chasing Wayne and Nees around the garden to show them how terrifying the orcs really were

Nees, Wayne and Eddie all play guitar. Nees taught Wayne but they both taught Eddie. They all used to play together, each with their own acoustic, before Nees arthritis got too painful. Wayne still plays from time to time, when he's missing her and Eddie will listen through the walls.

They moved when Nees died. Couldn’t face being in the same place without her, her house was an extension of her and being there without her swears worthy of a sailor or her perfume and tabacco smell was too painful.

Wayne and Nees introduced Eddie to music. She might have been older but loved hearing whatever new record Wayne brought home. So now when Eddie hears Creedance clearwater revival, the animals, the supremes, crosby stills nahs and young or the mamas and papas he has to take a seat and let the emotions run wild. On her brithday Eddie and Wayne play her favourites and drink some gin in her memory.

Wayne doesn't know how he'd be alive without Eddie. That boy saved him, gave him a focus during the hardest parts of his life. They clung to each other when it hurt too much for words and he just hopes he can do right by him and give him the love he deserves.

They don't have a lot of money but he likes to get things for Eddie where he can, maybe its a nice lighter so Eddie doesn't have to rely on matches, maybe a new diary when he notices Eddie coming to the end of his current one. They aren't big gestures but they say 'i'm looking out for you kid'

Eddie day dreams a lot, nobody ever really asks what he's thinking about. Asuming it'll be dragons and guitars and epic high fantasy stories. Adn yes, some of the times they are right but sometimes Eddie just sits and remembers his time with his Uncle and his Nees and it helps to level his emotions, reminds himself of Wayne and what they've been through and lets his mind finally relax

sure! here are some of my hcs about eddie and wayne:

- the first gift eddie ever got was from wayne for his 6th birthday, the acoustic guitar that’s in his room that says “this machine slays dragons”. after seeing how excited eddie was to get a gift wayne always went out of his way to save a little money so he could get things for eddie, even something as little as a piece of candy. eddie would smile just as wide every time

- i think eddie probably moved in with wayne when he was about 12, all he had was the clothes on his back and that guitar. eddie started showing an interest in metal and alternative culture so wayne asked one of his neighbors to show him how to sew so he could show eddie how to start his battle jacket. (he also started saving money to get eddie an electric guitar)

- after eddie’s first kiss he wanted nothing more than to tell his uncle how exciting it was, but he was terrified wayne would kick him out for liking boys. eddie got in wayne’s van after school and immediately started sobbing and saying sorry. wayne gave him a whole speech about never having to be sorry for anything, so eddie came out to him. ever since then wayne would always tease eddie about his taste in men “really ed? the one with the polo shirt? i think ya can do better, boy”

do I like them: I LOVE HIM WITH EVERYTHING THAT I AM.

5 good qualities: A nerdy boy, empathic, sarcastic, heart of gold, plays guitar, funny, has a quirky charm about him, fine as hell,

3 bad qualities: doesn't run when he should. That's it. There's no more 😂

favourite episode/etc: tbh, simply all of scenes just because that's "all we're getting". Except that one scene 😭. But my absolute faves are in the cafeteria, the d&d game, obviously when he plays Master of Puppets. Iconic moment there. His romantic walk in the woods with Steve. Speaking of Steve, the "don't ya big boy?". Oh and fighting the demobats.

notp: I'd have to go with Eddie x Chrissy. Now I understand the appeal of it. It's just a tiring trope and I didn't really see a romantic chemistry between them. Platonic yeah. But not romantic.

Uncle Wayne gifted him the acoustic guitar in his room and taught him how to play. It's what started his love of music. When he was younger he tried to make money to purchase an electric guitar and didn't have an easy time so Wayne worked longer hours to save up and purchase one for him. Shortly after Corroded Coffin formed. His third guitar, the one he plays in the upside down, was all Eddie though. He got a job worked his ass off and bought it.

Eddie heard Steve singing once and fell in love.

Uncle Wayne, clearly knows how terrible Eddie's childhood was, so whenever he saw Eddie being lost in a movie or a book he never asked him to stop. Just let him get lost and have a brief moment of peace from the real world.

Wayne doesn't really understand the fantasy of Eddie's books or D&D. But he listens to every word and asks questions. *fun fact Steve does this too*

He is always biting his nails. An anxious tick he picked up from his childhood.

Discovered his love of reading by biking to the library and finding a copy of The Hobbit sitting on table. He picked it up and didn't leave until the library closed. At which that point he checked it out.

Eddie and Robin form a film club. Idk why this is always in my head. But it is.

Eventually teaches Dustin to play guitar. He's okay at it but they soon discover Dustin has a penchant for Drums.

Is actually a great mechanic. One of the best but doesn't like to brag about it or even offer to look at it because it reminds him of his father. So if he does offer you're incredibly special to him (looking at you Steve Harrington).

Sleeps very little due to ptsd/childhood trauma. And if there's a storm with a lot of thunder and rough wind that causes the windows and then porch door to slam against the trailer he doesn't sleep at all. When he starts dating Steve, any night there's a storm Steve takes him to his place. So he can sleep. Though to be fair regardless of location he sleeps better with Steve.

Absolutely kills it at mini golf. And he's obnoxious about it too.
