Me: hm, I want something to put on the TV as background noise... Huh. Looks like YouTube is recommending something called The Last Unicorn. That's perfect, it's probably some old shitty animation that has aged poorly! I can watch it ironically!
Me, 2 hours later as the credits roll: *crying, cheering, buying the book, composing the songs*
Me, 2 weeks later: So I have compiled all of the quotes from the book that I think could make good tattoos, and also, HOW HAVE I NEVER LEARNED ABOUT HOW THE LAST UNICORN FUCKING SLAPS??? This gay-ass little fairytale fed my soul! Watered my crops! Transed my gender! Can't believe I heard of this story from youtube recommendations, of all places!!

Can I just say if Batman (from DC) met Hiccup (From HTTYD) he would definitely adopt him. Smart malnourished & neglected child sneaking out at night is sending alarm bells ringing through his mind.

OKAY I HAD A VISION
SO YOU KNOW HOW FRANK HAS BOOKWORM ON HIS FRINGERS
WHAT IF HE SAT IN ONE OF THOSE FANCY CHAIRS AND READ STORIES BY THE FIREPLACE IN HIS HOUSECOAT
FRANK IS THE ONLY PERSON WHO MAKES MY IMAGINATION WORK RIGHT NOW
oh i would believe that happens 100%.
if not that exactly, then he’d be curled up on the couch covered in multiple blankets reading~🎃

Many men had offered her many things in the past, love and friendship, luxury and jewels, entertainment, dogs, amusements, homage--some she had accepted, some refused, but no man before had offered her work. Peter had offered her that, he had offered her a share of his--not noble or inspiring or fascinating work, just his work, what he had. He had offered it her, called her great energies into play, and set her to work beside himself in a furrow. And she was glad; for some reason she found it very good.

'Cause listen, I'm not saying anything about the content of the books, but I gotta give it to PB, some of the titles are good word play, and I wanna see if anyone else thinks that, too.
OP added context she thought people might want to know: I am so so easily amused

Tgcf discourse will never not be funny to me bc on twitter they’re arguing over how hua cheng is depicted in the donghua saying that he’s showing too much emotion and that it’s BAD and it’s like…is he not supposed to show any emotion? Did we read the same book? Where did these people get the idea he’s an emotionless bad boy from like i cantehicmeb

god I hope the new 0MFD, G**d Omens, and WWD1TS seasons don't come out all at once (censoring to avoid the tags)
I'll not see a single female character on my dash for a month straight

i love to think about the ways eiffel is willing/able to take up physical space for hera when she can’t. i think... with eiffel and hera and minkowski staying together post-canon, one thing that might start to really bother hera is that, like. she doesn’t have any stuff. she doesn’t even have herself to be there in the house, really, not physically. and unlike with the hephaestus, a house that is actually meant to be a home, a place that is designed for human life, is always full of reminders of the people who live there. so i want to think that she expresses this to eiffel and he starts picking up stuff he thinks she’ll like just to put it on the shelves and around the house, so it’s her house too. and she thinks it’s kind of silly at first because it’s not like she can really interact with most of it, but. then she sees all of her stuff mixed together with eiffel’s on the shelves and it’s like this constant reminder that she exists in the world, that she has an impact on it and a place in it. and that does make her feel a little better.

The thing about the likeness is that yes it does have one of the most convoluted and far-fetched conceits laboriously made “plausible” known to man, but tana french manages to do it in such a way that i didn’t even notice the first time round? And then it leads to such an interesting story that i simply don’t care. who cares if this setup is realistic i just wanna hear more about cassie’s imperfect sense of the boundaries between self and not-self!!

Idk what it is that makes me fixate so hard on one specific thing for years at a time, but I need it to chill out 😭 DnDads has been my only long-term media interest for like 1 and 1/2 years now, and it’s BORING to only like one thing ever lol I’m BORED!!! I need other things to be interested in, but I struggle with getting into new stuff (other than video games) sooo bad :(
That said, if you have DnD podcast recs that have interesting characters……… GIMME 👀 Also where the early episodes aren’t a nightmare to listen to 🙏 I have never listened to any other DnD podcasts, and I think it’s mostly bc the earlier seasons are always poor audio quality or like 3 hours long 😭 I’m also good with any type of narrative podcast. I just want compelling characters and platonic/familial dynamics pls. Stuff I can write sad shit about!! But also not TOO sad the whole time… maybe a little bit silly idk
So far, ones I’ve written down to listen to are Cast Party and Friends at the Table? I don’t know anything about either of them, though so? Also I keep seeing my mutuals posting Oxventure and Woe.Begone (although the latter isn’t a DnD podcast.. I think?) sooooo let me know your thoughts. And recommendations! Send me your propaganda! Tell me about your blorbos

Again not a dungeon meshi reader/watcher but every time I hear about that laois guy I get reminded of how my system had/has a hyperfixation on dragons so intense that we got that big fancy dragonology book and we treated it like the damn dragon Bible for like years
Now, obviously, we understand that there's different interpretations on mythical creatures, and no one interpretation on a dragon is necessarily gospel, but that multiple interpretations on the classic tale of beasts of scale and fire are completely valid and to be expected!
however if you call an Eastern dragon a coatl I'm going to come to your house and slaughter your family
