hello! do u draw the maps and diagrams in the backgrounds on ur art by urself or do u use pre existing images or smth :0?
(like the map in ur most recent gaz work)
Haha, hell no! I could never have the patience or skill for that 🙆♀️ Most of my backgrounds for the latest COD art have been collage work. So for the Gaz one--I found a bunch of images through google and rearranged them how I wanted through mostly trial and error. yeah, if I had to draw a whole map of London by hand..💀
All these ones have backgrounds made through collage:
I haven’t gotten to do any brainstorming on Heket and how she would interact with everyone, but I said its Heket wednesday so i had to draw her at least once...
It’s my first clear take on how she would look in my style and well, I love her already
So... hi. Still alive. It's been a weird few weeks. I was in a pretty bad funk from the whole drama bs that happened from my last post (one author updated their tags (all my love), two others blocked my friend when they personally reached out with hopes of having a calm talk about it without so much as a word of response, and one of my readers victim-blamed my friend because *they* weren't triggered by one of the fics in question. It was a whole thing...).
Anyway, I've been essentially repulsed by all things social ever since but was finally pulling out of it when someone rear-ended me pretty severely. We're hopeful that the damage to my car was only cosmetic, but the guy that hit me claimed not to have insurance, so our deductible is several hundred bucks more... And I got to spend over 5 hours in the hospital getting monitored. Fingers crossed, it seems like both I and the little one are okay (for those not in the know-how, I'm now 6 months preggers).
That's about it - just wanted to let everyone know why I haven't been on here in a couple weeks and let you know that I am no where near ready to abandon Doc and the boys. Life just had something else in mind for me recently...
I don't understand all the people in various different fandoms I've seen lately ragging on rarepairs/non-canon pairs because "they don't talk to each other/have no on-screen chemistry" or "you're just putting random people together because they're not dating anyone else"
Folks.
The point of fanfiction is that IT'S NOT CANON, it's you sitting around with your fave action figures and SMASHING THEM TOGETHER
Sometimes that happens to be the most common pairing or something actually canon. But sometimes, that's you taking a square and a circle and putting them together and saying WHAT IF!
Sometimes it's looking at the parts that make up two entirely different people and asking "What would it take for these two to work together?" and the joy of that sort of exploration and discovery is INDESCRIBABLE
FANFIC DOESNT HAVE TO CARE ABOUT CANON
IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT *DID* HAPPEN, IT MATTERS WHAT *COULD* HAPPEN
