I just realized that this past month has given me so many people I need to credit in my thesis

i'm gonna be honest with you all, january and february have been FUNNY months for me & i've not been all that motivated to keep on top of shit but i feel like that is passing (bc i've been a little more organised with irl stuff this past week, imo) so here's hoping i get back to shit here starting this month. very sorry for my absense, esp as there ARE ppl waiting on replies from me!

i didn't mean to vanish but my brain just hasn't been WITH IT. idk, i think maybe the fact the sun is actually coming out has maybe switched my brain back on? diversity loss! those ppl correctly gendering u assumed you're straight..

#well 'correctly gendering' they genuinely just saw me as Some Guy i think so automatically referred to me as he #anyway there are a group of usually four to five ppl at the train station nearest to me who stop u and talk to you about sj stuff and/or as #you to donate. so stuff like immigrant rights lgbtq+ rights the environment et cetera & they were eyeing me when i was approaching (to #potentially be stopped & talked to etc. i get stopped like. 80% of the time around there) but then turned back towards each other and said #something along the lines of 'oh this is so scary this is so hard he's so scary' and then didn't stop me to talk and literally as i walked #away (i was JUST past them some ppl rlly do not wait for someone to be out of earsight to tall abt them) one of them said 'his face looked #good (as in approachable & a potential Person To Converse With) but the rest of him....straight man. look at that blouse.'#the previous sentence loosely quoted but it was smth like that...........WTF DO U MEAN STRAIGHT MAN??? Fanfiction grade game: historical au's and arranged marriage?

historical aus: b-

this may be a surprise given how much i love history... but i have trouble with historical aus bc the things i love about history are not really what come out in romance or fic. honestly i don't read much regular historical fiction. I am open to them (esp if they r 20th c stuff... i liked trails of paper's time to kill of course) but I'll often get taken out of the work by thinking about other things happening at the time or debates about this or that...

also writing this i feel like i have a bit of a distinction between what i consider "historical" vs a "period piece". like historical to me ties into events and debates and eras of history while a period piece captures the feeling of a briefer moment, though often embedded in such a milleau, doesn't "take me out" of the fic in the same way... more focused on a feeling or moment... (a la rudesse's to the bright cafes which I love)...of course those lines r extremely & easily blurred... if that makes sense???

arranged marriage: d

I'll read them if it's recced to me by someone I trust or by an author i really like but generally I actively avoid them esp if they r regency pieces (idk if I've ever gotten through a regency fic even tho i like Jane austen and that eras writing...). obv exception to @wdcseb estemick ficlet which i love (and also like that the primary romantic pairing is outside the more arranged thing and then esteban/pierre in that is more like... circumstantially forced marriage? which is more ok by me. but anyway there are situations which i can like it). i much prefer like... stumbled-into-marriage-by-accident? idk. sorry that there are so many contours here... im picky.

#I'm not tagging the authors in the first bit cuz it feels weird and also we r not mutuals cuz I'm like... Critiquing the genre or smth #But I love their stuff and think they r amazing #I was writing this and I was like. Wait.
