Today is International Asexuality Day and I would like to say that I do headcanon Nigel as ace. I think it makes sense. However in his case it is very difficult for me to enjoy this headcanon because enemy of the state Gregory J Read decided to say that Nigel was asexual, but he used it in a very wrong way. In my opinion, it was his attempt to make him sound less gay or more inhuman-like and strange. Both wrong for different reasons. Him saying that Nigel wasn't interested in sex was like saying that he was above it, or to make him sound strange, like "asexual" what a weird thing to say about a person.
He didn't consider that being asexual actually meant something else or that it doesn't make you any less gay. (As if there's anything that could make that movie less gay anyway)
So, my Ace Nigel is very gay, he's weird about sex, less in a "I don't like sex" kind of way and more as in a "I only care about sex and enjoy it if there's something extremely off putting about it" kinda way. Which, in case you didn't know, is a very common ace experience.
He's also no less human because of it. And this is less about Nigel and more about how ignorant Greg has proven to be. He didn't "confirm" Ace Nigel simply because 1) I don't need him to confirm anything for me and 2) he had no idea what the hell he was talking about, he didn't know what asexuality is, so he didn't mean it like that.
