☁️ Harvest Moon : Analysis
"MUFFY AND DEPRESSION RELATING TO WOMANHOOD AND MARRIAGE"
As we all know, women are trained to be married. To find happiness in domesticity - to be a mom and to be a wife. To be perfect at all of it at the same time. Muffy displays this sadness and mournfulness of not being "woman" enough - for failing at getting married and being childless. Honestly, the whole thing is kind of thought provoking when you think about it. I know it wasn't meant to be like this, the writers definitely didn't put this out there to be thought about. But you can see the sadness in her eyes, her words, and her actions when it comes to being wifeless and childless. And her inability to pick out good men to date after not being chosen, is just sad and honestly proves how bad her boundaries are. I always headcanoned Muffy as dealing with BPD, because the way she attaches to people is honestly very quick and baseless. And the way she can't have stable relationships is also telling. Her depression is always situational but deep and intense. You can feel it.
In conclusion, I think that Muffy's life is a great analysis on womanhood and how society plays a part in their self esteem. Unlike Celia who is okay with being single as long as you're happy. Nami is just another story completely. Honestly, Muffy deals with a lot of heteronormativity and is very much centered to men. I always saw Muffy as pan or a straight up lesbian dealing with comphet. Because honestly, above all else, Muffy is a hopeless romantic and would love anyone.
That's why she's ultimate waifu. UWU

“calloused hands found their way to soft skin.”
for the first sentence ask game!
Calloused hands found their way to soft skin. Muffy shivered as she relished in her lover's touch, placing her hands over Pony's, pleading her to never let go.
"I thought that real romance had passed me by a long time ago..." she murmured, tears sliding down her cheeks. "That I had done something wrong, and I didn't deserve it." She looked down at the vibrant blue feather gripped between her shaking fingers. "Are... are you really sure you want me?"
"Absolutely." Pony had always been a woman of actions, not words. With a sincere nod, she gently wiped away Muffy's tears and kissed her crimson lips.
😳💕
Send me an ask with the first sentence of a fanfic and I’ll write the next five.

True facts when I first got Stardew Valley I thought Haley looked so much like Muffy from Harvest Moon It’s A Wonderful Life that she was the first character I romanced

I’ve been watching harvest moon (or story of seasons. Whatever) playthroughs and it’s making me nostalgic for My Wife. 12 yr old me would be stoked if she knew it would one day be possible to be in lesbians with muffy
