I AM VERY INTERESTED I LOVE HEARING THOUGT PROCESSES AND ITS SO CLEAR HOW MUCH PASSION AND CARE WAS PUT INTO YOUR ZINE PIECE

AHH THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!! i have so many thoughts i dont know where to begin LMAO ill start with the outfit designs first!!

to start things off, every design has one specific colour in mind to represent that hermit! pearl - blue, gem - green, impulse - yellow, doc - black/gray, and grian - red! (everyone's nails are painted their colour) every design was deliberately punk-inspired, since during the king arc the soup group was a force of resistance against the monarchy's tyranny :P therefore, the soup group are the main focus of the art and their designs are intentionally made so that they stand out more from the other two, though i made sure they were all unique in one aspect or another :] let's go character by character now! (i'm including all my initial design sketches + some inspo photos too)

pearl - she's the lead singer of soup group, along with playing the electric guitar! her design features a double tank top + low rise big pant combo, moon motifs of course, and two distinct shades of blue! The darker one is seen throughout her hair and outfit, while the lighter one in her moth antenna is reflected in her guitar. the main inspiration for her look was avril lavigne, which is also what influenced me to add those fun blue hair streaks :D on her shirt i wanted to have a sort of skeletal moth/butterfly design!!

gem - the keytar! i wanted to make sure that gem and pearl's designs looked very distinct from each other, so i went for a slightly different vibe with gem's! her design is based more off of the plaid skirts, big boots, and fishnet looks i found while looking through early 2000s lip service magazine scans (as well as some hayley williams looks!!) :D additionally, shes got vine tattoos over her body to call back to her nature elf vibe this season!

impulse - the drummer of course!! for his look, i wanted to go a little more anarcho-punk (since its a much older punk style and hes the oldest member of soup group LOL), so his vest jacket has got a bunch of diy additions like patches, pins, paperclips, and chains, along with a bunch of spikes!! in my mind, the back of his jacket has probably got a whole lot more patches, spikes, and studs :] beyond that, i made sure to give him lots of piercings (though my options were limited since s9 impy has a beard lol), and stretched earlobes for fun!! ideally his pants would also have a lot more patches and fun bits, but since his legs would be entirely covered by his drums in the final piece i went for something simpler

doc - an opener and feature on the song! since he's not part of the soup group, his design is quite a bit simpler than the others in terms of both look and concept :] his look is monochrome save for his robotic red parts and green skin, but still looks interesting thanks to that fun leather jacket :D his look is purposefully more reminiscent of a 50's style greaser, i wanted to go for an older fashion style to make him look more intimidating/mature, as well as set him apart from the look of soup group since the perimeter was an independent nation in the king arc!

grian - another feature/opener! design wise? hes literally just green day i can't even lie like the pun was perfect and also the black shirt + red tie combo is iconic and also fits his look so effortlessly it had to be done LMAO also, if you look closely in the final piece you can see he's wearing eyeshadow! this of course is again because hes grian day /silly. but to be real, i think this style also fits him really well since the tie + spikes & studs combo gives the look that sorta rebellious vibe that was all over his videos during the king arc :]

AND NOW FOR THE INSTRUMENTS!! this segment is thankfully much shorter

pearl's guitar is of course a nod to my design for her and her moth wings! butterfly guitars are harder to draw than you'd think LOL

gem's keytar has got a vine design all over it to match her tattoos

impulse's drum set has got the soup group punk band logo! the logo design may honestly be my favourite part of the piece, i feel like i really nailed what i was going for :D

YEHAHHHHHHH BUG ART!!!!

below are some of my first attempts at miniature bug watercolors and I chose Luna moths bc of their colors and they are my dads favorite :3 upper left is the very first attempt and latest is last box, still not finished… all done with watercolor paint (most from Etsy) and super fine brushes- toothpick for scale!

Then we have some doodles!!! These are just from my pocket sketchbook and done when I was bored. The first is an antler horned beetle (I found a super cool book on beetles at the library and kind of lost my mind, I have so many I wanna draw/paint). And the other is an annual cicada and it’s various cycles of life!!! Cicadas are my favorite bug hands down and I started that sketch as a tattoo concept for myself that I hope to get one day, I just want to find the right artist…

Also last year I started dabbling with printmaking and bought a speedball carver and some cheap erasers and made me some cicada wind stamps. I hope to make more bugs and stuff with them this year <3

That’s all I have for bug stuff right now!!! My energy has shifted to writing lately but I’ve missed traditional art a ton and hope to jump back in soon

FIRST OF ALL TODAYS MY BIRTHDAYYY🤩✨✨ CONGRATULATIONSSS to Charon for being the lucky feature on mmYY BIRTHDAYYY YAAYYY - another obscure face who pops up in all my greens! NOTES!

Charon - yes THE Charon, ferryman extraordinaire - made his entrance into Elysium when Prince Tory recently upgraded the Styx ferry system and added fleets of many boats, allowing Charon to go on break for the first time in all eternity

due to spending his entire existence ferrying shades across a river 24/7 Charon is super shy & social awkward lmao but very very sweet 🥹

This drawing is - he ended up getting a whole double sleeve tattoo of moths and lanterns after some time in the palace, due to his fondness for all the little moths that would cluster around the light on his boat 🥺 I…….. hate drawing tattoos itdfkFGKFK it’s haRDDDD here he is with inspo moth instead aGHH,, tattoos of course done by Meno who I posted yesterday!

i am constantly giving this cloak to Charon in art (all four times I’ve drawn him) bc I. Just feel like he should have it

Charon’s best claim to fame within the palace is the casual throuple he’s a part of made up of Hecate, & Loki’s son Fenris which is mostly consisted of Charon following both of them around with heart eyes. kyoot idk

Finally beginning to advance beyond green zone into teals tomorrow with another very obscure character that absolutely no one will recognize!! HOPE YOU REMEMBERED THAT NAME I MENTIONED A FEW DAYS AGO HINT HINT…… 👀🐟

BIOGRAPHY

I — 1851 to 1870.

Arthur and Odette Alluard gave birth to their one and only son in the middle of Paris, France in 1852. The family was relatively wealthy given that at the time Arthur owned his shop and his mother was a popular dress designer and tailor. The boy was named after his father. Arthur was different from the moment that he was gone. He didn’t have many worries. As a child, he mostly stayed home and read books. Neither of his parents thought anything bad of it. Eventually he’d take over his father’s business. Arthur barely paid attention to the world around him, a book in his hand. People called him soft, they whispered about him behind his backs, wondered when his parents would have a child who was more serious. But the Alluards loved their child and didn’t care if his head was in the clouds most of the time.

Education was very important to the Alluard family and they wanted their boy to have a good education. Arthur had always wanted to become a writer. His parents let him write books in journals and on scrap paper. One day he’d write a book that would be in every household. He was a brilliant student though not the best. Arthur was slated to attend a university and be on his way to becoming the author he always dreamed he would be.

But then Napoleon III declared war and Arthur was sent off to war. Books though, they might mention war, but they never prepared him for the carnage that was the battlefield. He was smart enough to stay away from a lot of the danger for a while at least. Arthur was young enough to just be the aide to a general at first. The Germans invaded Paris. Then he was sent on the front lines. So many people had died and Arthur knew it was his time as well. He’d die defending his country, like so many other people.

Thankfully, Arthur doesn’t remember how it happened. The last few memories of his life were of loud and bloody. The bullet hit him in the front. He was killed in battle.

And then...

II — 1870-1916.

...he woke up.

Arthur does not know how many days later it was that he woke up, but there were dead bodies all around him and the scent of blood in the air. He didn’t know how he managed to wake up. It wasn’t possible. The dead didn’t wake up. No one else woke up. He’d been dead. Then he was suddenly awake. It wasn’t possible.

He was scared.

So he ran.

He forged some documents and ran.

He went south, stayed in France.

His name didn’t matter.

His identity didn’t matter.

He was given a second chance, but he didn’t know what to do with it. It had to be a fluke. He was sure of that. So he kept his head down and didn’t make waves in his second life. He lived his life to the fullest as much as he could, but the confusion of even having a second life was strange.

But he wouldn’t give up having a second life for anything.

Until there was another war.

He didn’t last long.

Two years.

Then he was dead again.

III. 1916-1962.

His third life was different. It took a long time for his body to regenerate. He woke up two years later in a coffin and it took a while for him to get out of it.

His third life was nothing special. He spent the majority of it living in the French countryside. He forged new papers and had a new identity. He fell in love. He fought in another war and this time didn’t die. But eventually he died, this time of natural causes at home, with the man he loved, Denis Picard, beside him.

IV. 1962-1994.

And so Timothée Alluard was born. Although it was weird using his last name again, it felt right for this life, this time.

With his fourth life, nothing interesting happened. Moth spent most of it travelling and seeing the world before he didn’t have an opportunity not to do that. He went all over the world.

Eventually, he came to America, hoping to see it before moving on. Except it was a tragic accident he was involved in that caused them to die a fourth time.

V. 1994-1998.

Timothée really loved cities, though was strange for him to be in America. It was dying again that made him reach out to Charles Xavier. He knew there were other people like him of course, but he never really did seek them out before because he had other things to do, other lives to live.

Although he has money over the years from living as long as he has, Timothée got bored doing nothing. He took a job at the bookstore and is a student at Xavier’s. Though they really don’t know what they want to do now that they’re on their fifth life.

When it comes to mutant business, he sides with Xavier. He’s seen enough battle and war that he doesn’t want to fight anymore. Not with mutants or non-mutants, but he also knows that he’d give up his life to make a new generation of mutants happy and safe. Right now he believes that both can exist in co-harmony if given the chance, so he’ll help with Institute business whenever he has a free moment. Timothée truly believes in the cause and doesn’t think the Brotherhood is right. He was appalled when the news about Essex House came out.

In his day to day life, Timothée tends to live to the fullest. He doesn’t take too many risks in life because he doesn’t know what life will be his last, but he believes there’s no point in wasting his mutation by living in fear. He is afraid to love again, so he does tend to shield himself from romantic relationships. Timothée would rather have a life worth living in case it’s his last, even if it means dying to make sure that his friends don’t die.

tldr;

Timothée Picard is a mutant with self resurrection who moved to America recently. He’s seen a lot in the last hundred and fifty years, some good and some bad. He doesn’t know how many lives he has left.

Galahad species? Galahad species. [LONG TEXT] Galahad’s species used to be a vast and nomadic one! They were plentiful during the Deadwardian era. They were known to be scholars, researchers and magic architects that would share their wisdom if ever asked. These moth-like demons have a odd fashion tense as well. Using homemade carved or repaired masks to mask their own faces. This is part of almost all clans of these ‘wings’, (Each clan has a suffix in front of ‘wing’, giggles in WOF inspo) And speaking of biology, With four arms they had a pair for scribbling down notes, another for just grasping. They even used to have wings too! And the four limbs. As for wings, During and only during adulthood they will receive their wings via cocooning themselves and staying in such development for almost an entire year! Despite being long gone they held a legacy for adventuring into the unknown as pioneer scholars. They even were adventurous enough to still continue studying and looking into the human realm! Well before the clans began to swiftly disappear. Some will share news or gossip of what was going on, like wars, odd machines, etc. some will actually ‘borrow’ human items to share the oddities with fellow demons.These demons also have a odd biology where some are born without a bilesac. This results in them tattooing glyphs onto arms, etc to use magic. But unlike the wittabane human they used old and broke palismen and respected their broken corse afterwards. And yes this magic is only for emergencies only. this is one of the reasons this demon species is so fickle. The other was a mass genocide. Funfact: Before their extinction, a black wings was caught in the human realm and dubbed the ‘mothman’.

🐈 Does your oc prefer a wide circle of friends or a few close friends? While she's younger yeah, a wide circle of friends sounds sick! But, and this is a big but, as she grows it's the sort of thing where she realises "Y'know what, close friends is better".

💘 What and/or who do(es) your oc consider the most important to them? Having people she can feel comfortable and vulnerable around honestly, girl's got trust and abandonment issues bro...

So having people like Hansel and Bridget who're willing to stick with her till the end means a lot.

🍰 What is/are your oc's favorite sweet(s)/dessert(s)? I can't pin point anything specific, however she does enjoy both sweet and sour treats. Give her a box of Nerds or some crazy sour skittles and she'll be thriving.

☕️ Does your oc prefer coffee, tea, hot chocolate, milk, water, or some other drink? how do they like to take this drink (ex. coffee with milk, hot chocolate with whipped cream, a specific kind of tea, etc)? She's a hot choc girl lads, and she likes going all out herself. Big Cass specialty is cinnamon, marshmallows, and whipped cream and she's bound to give pumpkin spice a go.

I'm also sure that Bridget's sat getting her into tea too! Ironically she's taken quite a liking to the fruity kinds~

🤔 What are some of your oc's quirks/mannerisms? Well this is a tough one, though come to think of it Cassi does have a habit of squeaking and chirping like a little autistic beast when excited {this is not projecting I swear-}. Oh, and in the universes where she's a werewolf/animal-like thing she gets very tail-waggy.

Heyo! Just gonna post some tattoo inspiration for me.

I really want a moth tattoo. I either want it on my side ribs or above the bra strap (see photo moon and sun). The reason I want a moth is because I believe it is my spirit guide. Not like a spirit animal but more like a Guardian Angel that appears in the form of a Moth.
