Also I am. Constantly forgetting how fucking funny Hunter is. We never give him enough credit for how funny he is because his life is so fucked up but I swear 90% of his lines are just bit after bit after bit. He's not even trying either. Anytime he actively tries to make a joke it falls flat but if you just put him in a Scenario he'll find a way to be so over invested and yet out of touch/at odds with whatever's going on. He's so autistic

#the owl house #ramblings of a lunatic #i forget hunters character voice A Lot #plus the most recent ep is always whats most clear in my mind (so rn that's ftf) and he's obvs much more angsty in that one #idk ppl credit thanks to them as the first time Hunter was like happy and silly #but i highkey think asias was the prelude to that. like i think the events of that day are so vivid and special to hunter #precisely bc it's the first time he's interacted with witches his age in a non hostile or strained way #it's the first time on screen we see him have fun doing something that isn't deranged #yeah whatever souls are made of his and willows are the same. but more importantly her gus and the rest make him laugh #that's important for the guy canonically having the worst day of his life Every Day #part of why huntlow appealed to me initially was that it was hunters first taste of like. normal teenagedom #not the romance with willow (cause that's barely an undercurrent in asias) but flyer derby and hexside in general #and that's part of why willow and later gus r like. his safe space #and thus why it's so significant that he goes out of his way to protect (keep them safe) too #anyway enough hunter thoughts for tonight. i love him but this isn't my Brand

#I feel so ill about those episodes that I can't even post about them #text #I finished the show by the way. those are the fastest 177 episodes I have ever watched. during exam season of all things sadkjfhsdfhskg.#my final verdict is that the show fucks severely until season 7 1/2 after which it kind of sucks. it also loses its track somewhat post #s6 1/2 and starts repeating rehashing and contradicting its messages but otherwise it isn't Bad or Mediocre the way those last episodes are #anyway. media embracing absurdism and committing to the bit are catnip to me and house md/tlt/disco elysium really hit that sweet spot <3 #do you know what they also have in common? gay people / discussions of love sex and power that make you insane / maladjusted protagonists -#- failing to succeed under exploitative systems / and most importantly gothic hauntings and entrapment.#house md

I finally figured out how to get into the Pentiment game files (after downloading five different extractor programmes lol) and decided to look through the glossary page marginalia that I ignored/missed on my first playthrough.

We all know our man Andreas is a cat fan, so it’s no surprise that there are quite a few drawn throughout the game. But there are also these two cats, which aren’t quite in keeping with the style of the others:

It’s a lovely piece of art, just like everything else in the game and now I can access the texture files I’m one step closer to making a sticker set for my laptop lol. But look at it for a bit longer and then tell me they don’t remind you of one of our fave Pentiment couples…

I think @mintymyths has mentioned before that some of the illustrated frogs share a likeness with Andreas — so I like to think that these animal cameos are a recurring artistic feature of his <3

i'm going to be real with you guys for a moment. i don't think i'll continue following bsd much after this point

#i take back what i said about being excited for what's to come. i mean i am. in a very general impersonal way.#but the way the series is going. if the ending of the anime is going to be followed by the manga in a similar direction #is just very different from the silly armed detective agency vs port mafia authors with superpowers slightly high-stakes slice of life #that i originally signed up for. i've felt this way the whole decay of angels arc and just stuck around to see what happens #and because i care about the characters. bsd was always a character-focused manga for me #but the direction it seems to be taking is this massive epic entire-world-at-stake military scifi drama #where super epic power-up style ability weapons (and one-off overpowered nameless ability users are introduced and killed off in the same #scene. like the time manipulation catgirl) take the forefront at the expense of actual character focus and character development #like why are most of the (original) cast completely unaccounted for in what was meant to be a satisfying ending.#did asagiri forget that atsushi is the main character. why did tachihara's and sigma's arcs get cut short like that.#and frankly i feel like bsd started to take this direction from storm bringer onwards. the focus and scope of it is very different #to for example the untold origins or dazai's entrance exam or even 55 minutes. but if i were to theorise i would say that the scope of #the current direction of bsd must have started germinating during the 55 minutes light novel. if you can see what i mean #anyway more importantly i find that the tone is now entirely different from early bsd. it's just not the series that i fell in love with #so i think it's best that i stop here before letting it turn sour like jujutsu kaisen is to me now.#i have the manga (and anime) that i can reread (rewatch) up to the perfect crime arc whenever i want #i can reread the sskk fight of volume 20 whenever i want. i can revisit sigma and nikolai's chapters. there's wan. there's the light novels #and there's the wonderful fanfics and fanart and so many metas to read. that's what brings me joy more than the series itself nowadays.#that's all. end of era i guess. to an extent

I did a bunch of patterns for the clothes...#first we've got mountains on the red cloth bc of mount izuna #and bc i like mountains ⛰️#seconc fans on the pink cloth bc of course.#madara's coat has got little gourds (symbol of victory in battle)#also they kinda looks like the gunbai and they're fun to make .#most importantly though izu ended up so pink themed it's delightful. like a little bundled up piece of cotton candy.#I originally wanted him to be blue (contrast with tobirama like hashirama and madara who are both in red)#but sometimes the colors do what they want :)#i think the blues present contrast v nicely with the pinks though #like look at the shine on that indigo armor ugh.#and madara's coat of course #since this is a surprise i don't have many process pics/video but I am of course as always #very willing to discuss textures so if you're wondering how I did this or that zone or just wanna hear more #don't hesitate to hit me up #and again thank you soooooooooooooooooooooooo much for your lines

Not to be extreme but dear God hold onto hope.

Things will be better one day. People will sing and dance in colorful clothes under dazzling lights again. A parent will rock their child to sleep on a quiet night again. A grandparent will teach their grandchild to cook a family recipe again. People will laugh and cry and love and grieve in the most mundane of ways once more. This will happen no matter what you believe, but hoping and believing in such things will ease your heart and kindle your resolve to see it within your lifetime. Have hope, and you will give life to the world you hope to see.
