I see people calling Hollow evil but they're really not and I think that understanding that is vital to understanding Scavenger's Reign's themes about human influence on the ecosystem. Hollow did not start over-killing or even eating whole animals until Kamen started killing animals without the need to and bringing them to Hollow. He represents humanity's destructive role in our environment; he kills without cause and disrupts the natural order of things just because it initially makes him feel powerful.
Hollow is not an evil mastermind, they are an animal trying to survive who has been majorly influenced and removed from their natural role in the ecosystem by humanity.

Also to give context to how big of a deal this is (aside from just name recognition), Webster Hall (where they played in September) has a cap of about 1500 people. Radio City’s cap is just under *6000 people*. That’s a STUPID massive jump. Like when I was tinfoil hat-conspiracy-ing venues, I joking said “psh, sure I guess they COULD play Radio City, but Beacon (which is like, half the size of Radio City) makes way more sense” AND I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO HAPPY TO BE WRONG!!
This is so exciting for them, and going to be so confusing to be in such a fine upstanding venue while screaming about blood and ancient gods 😂

I just saw a video of "Idol" being performed live, and it made me uncomfortable in a way the animated music video didn't.
First off, "Idol" is not only the OP of Oshi no Ko, it's also the image song for the series's central character, Ai Hoshino. Specifically, it describes Ai's idol facade, how fans react to it, and the secrets it hides.
This is an appropriate focus for the song! If those aren't the most important parts of Ai, neither the audience nor her children ever see what's more important. And as the theme song for Oshi no Ko, it's even more apt; secrets and lies are the core theme of the series, and it's not even subtle.
But a song which focuses on the deceptiveness of idols, how artificial their stage persona is, with a chorus implicitly representing their fans chanting "You're my savior, you're my saving grace," being sung by a fictional idol on an animated stage hits a little different than when it's sung by real musicians on a real stage, surrounded by real cheering fans.

Second, at least half of the video was shot from the crowd. A crowd of probably 20 to 30 thousand people, in a dark, enclosed space. A loud crowd. Why do neurotypical people like that?
