Am I the only one tired of the Mothpool ship being portrayed as “big and buff butch Moth” and “small femme graceful slim Leaf”? Don’t be afraid to make them both girly girls or if you wanna keep Moth butch, don’t always make her big and buff! As a butch lesbian I hate that we seem to always have to be depicted as big and buff or can’t be as girly as femmes when that isn’t always the case. It feeds heteronormative ideas that butches always have to be “the man” of a relationship.

bc of the way ive decided to handle the timeline for my anthro warriors au, brambleclaw and squirrelflight arent together romantically and have a more of a sibling relationship than anything. he’s roughly over a decade older than squirrelflight and leafpool, and during the events of their equivalent of tnp the sisters would be around their early to mid twenties.
what this does mean, however, is that leafpool will get a girlfriend who will eligible for milf status in just one decade. maybe less.

Dustfren, Ashholly, and mothpool. but not for the reasons you guys think it is I don’t dislike it because it’s a popular I mainly dislike it just how many people interpret mothwing trans just for her to be the biological sire of the three. And mainly because how they turned her into a… savior figure for leafpool. completely nullifying her of any depth she could have. essentially reducing her to a stereotype. that’s my take away. -Mod EVA-00
I don’t like tigerdove at all, ik I’ll get hate for saying it . I just find the ship kind of uncomfortable and such. Team Lesher was a low-profile team, Cobalt would come to learn. He'd get promoted if he did exceptionally well as an apprentice or be transferred to another branch if he chose. Acquisition teams made a good mentorship, as they interacted with all branches as needed to bring them mods and gather information.
He met the rest of his team. All just as odd as everything else in the Facility.
The leader was a douji-Hana, named Rose. She was wicked sharp and crude, always had something in her mouth. It reminded him of a young Mizho, but much deadlier. Her noh wasn't dissimilar to a Paresse instance's, but much more focused on food-based plants where Paresse's was focused on trees, even if both controlled plants in general.
Second in command was Quinn, his mentor. Quinn apparently used to jump timelines on their own and worked as something of a black market dealer before they got in too deep with something and got involved with the Facility. They decided they liked the stability and companionship and stuck around.
Their medical officer was a Pardonner instance fused with a Slow instance named Prong. He was a laid back guy, and had a pet Scrapper named Crunch that he used to break down spare parts they found to use as scrap for the Facility's various needs for metal.
Their scout was... A cat. Apparently she's an Akitsu instance. Named Fawnstrike, she was outfitted with a translator and thankfully didn't mind when he'd greeted her as if she was a pet cat. Though she warned him about doing so to other felines he meets. He made a note to ask her about her timeline later. A cat?? How did that happen?
Finally there was their secretary, a... Jumbor? Apparently there were other humanoid robots in other timelines. Ones that extended past Dunstan's initial space-time break. He was a 'Drill' instance with one hell of a thorn in his side. He was like Cobalt, displaced from his own timeline because of reasons outside his control. His name was Foret, and he wasn't keen on talking about himself. According to Quinn, Drill instances usually look like them, Rages, but Foret had dyed his hair black and yellow and had more aesthetic mods than body.
Cobalt found them all odd, but he'd chosen this. While he technically had the option to take his choice back, he was determined wasn't going to.
Rose gave him the rundown. Quinn taught him the ropes. Prong taught him basic douji first-aid. Fawnstrike taught him how to sneak around Rose to smuggle extra trinkets--he's pretty sure she was just using him to get the trinkets for herself, but it was a good skill. And finally Foret taught him how to keep his mouth shut if he wasn't sure of something.
But it was mostly Quinn.
The non-binary version of himself has their legs hooked over a rafter in the warehouse that worked as this timeline's compound. The rest of his body hangs upside down as he listens to Cobalt sorting through the information they have for this run from various different branches.
"...so we're retrieving an Eater instance... For parts?"
"Yep. And that means?"
"We have to kill him."
"It. Remember what we said about targets."
"They're objects. Right." Cobalt sighed, "This one is altered and reached a second stage too early. H-- It doesn't have a master, but still poses a threat." He flips over to information from Mothwing, the recon team who'd originally scouted this timeline, "There's also an Avaro instance to look out for that may get defensive of our target." He pauses, thinking about the other two who had stayed from his same timeline.
"And why is that?"
"It..." He sighs and sets the paper down, "It doesn't matter. As long as we find a way around it."
"Almost."
Cobalt looks up, confused, as Quinn drops down, "It almost doesn't matter. Look at the noted alterations again."
Cobalt scowls, but does so.
Quinn points to a symbol, "Remind me what that means." They say it in a sarcastic way, and it grates on Cobalt a little.
"It symbolizes a strong connection between instances."
"And that means?"
"That this Avaro will likely heavily defend this Eater if we're not careful?" Cobalt huffs, agitated.
Quinn taps his nail slowly, "It means this Avaro could possibly wreak havoc upon discovering that its Eater is dead. Which means we need to look for possible timeline altering abilities in this Avaro."
Cobalt raises an eyebrow, "Why?"
"...Cobalt, if anything happened to Echo, I would tear the Facility apart with my bare hands. And he would do the same if anything happened to me. Don't underestimate relationships like that. Especially because this document alerts us that they're romantic in nature."
Cobalt stares at the paper, but nods. He flips to find the information on the Avaro instance in the timeline. He's not the original disruption, but he's part of its after-effects. He skims over the symbols under its designation, but doesn't see any that alert to reality-bending, time-alteration, or fate-manipulation.
"No, it won't be able to escape or alter its timeline significantly if we're successful."
"No damage to neighboring timelines?"
"No."
"Good."
Cobalt sighs, "You already did this."
"But Rose will want you to do it on your own in the future."
"What if I don't want to lead my own team? Or even be second in command?"
"Even so, you may have to go against your captain."
Cobalt looks up, brows furrowed.
Quinn nods, "There may come a time when your captain and their officer are altered or affected or just flat out wrong. You need to be able to make judgements like this on your own. You may get stranded in a timeline without leadership or get sent on a solo mission if you get good enough at your job. It's not just captains who get those jobs."
Cobalt's expression slowly relaxed.
"Our teams aren't shepherd and flock. We're Facility operatives. While we're sorted into teams, we're still considered as individuals. Prong is sometimes called away to assist another team's medical officer or is called back to the medical branch for an operation they need him to perform." Quinn chuckles to themself, "So tell me, Cobalt, if you were assigned this solo, what would be your plan?"

Honestly Shadowsight X Mothwing from friends to lovers goes hard. In my AU, Mothwing apologizes for her behavior towards him in the Bramblestar possession arc and brings him some prey. He accepts it, and Mothwing vents to him about her view on StarClan. Shadowsight and Mothwing continue meeting each other in secret and eventually become mates and each other’s therapist. They both agree StarClan should get nuked.

DPO3 AU: Prologue 2 - Jaykit

Jaykit had wanted to be a warrior as long as he could remember - ever since he'd opened his eyes. "I'm going to be a warrior" had probably been his first words, no matter what Willowkit said (she insisted his first words were "ablaaablababa" and that even from the start it was clear he was braindead). Being a warrior - dangerous, powerful, admired by everyone with equal measures of respect and fear - was the greatest thing Jaykit could think of.
So when Willowkit started following Mothwing around and pestering her with random stupid questions, of course Jaykit made fun of her.
"You're just becoming a medicine cat 'cause you'd suck at being a warrior, and Leopardstar knows it," Jaykit informed her disdainfully.
Willowkit sniffed. "Please, Jaykit. Everyone knows being a medicine cat is much harder than being a warrior. That's the only reason Leopardstar's letting you be one; if you got apprenticed to Mothwing, you'd poison some cat on your first day!"
Jaykit leaped to his feet. "I would only poison someone on purpose! You're dumb enough mix up juniper berries with yew!"
Even across the den, he could practically feel her pelt bristling with embarrassment and fury. "That was one time," Willowkit snarled.
"And I've never mixed herbs up at all," Jaykit crowed triumphantly. "Since my nose isn't always stuffed up and leaking snot ev'rywhere-"
"I got sick once-" Willowkit began heatedly.
" -and Mothwing says I have a natural ap- apti- talent for it, " Jaykit plowed over her, unheeding. "I'd be a way better medicine cat than you, with one paw stuck behind my back!"
"You couldn't and you know it," Willowkit snapped, stepping closer so that Jaykit could feel her breath on the top of his head. She was almost one kitten-step taller than Jaykit and he hated it with every hair on his pelt. "If you could actually be a medicine cat, you'd have asked Mothwing already, like I did. But you're too weak and stupid to use your head, and you're too mean to heal people, so you're going to be a crusty old warrior like everyone else and leave the real work to us."
The unsubtle insinuation there - the undertone of You know you would fail, and you're too afraid to try - was the last straw. Jaykit could spit. "Maybe I will get Mothwing to mentor me, and I'll be such an awesome medicine cat that she'll fire you! So you can be a crusty old warrior!"
"Ha!" Willowkit's voice shifted, suddenly coldly amused. "Try it. It'll be funny to see you fail."
Mothwing had come in then, blabbering about how they were clanmates and shouldn't fight or something stupid like that, but Jaykit wasn't paying attention by that point. He and Willowkit always fought; that was how they worked. But this was different from their usual fights. Something had changed. This was personal now.
So the next day, when Leopardstar called everyone out to the camp for an apprentice ceremony, Jaykit sat by the nursery. He didn't make fun of Willowkit, or try to be as loud and disruptive as he could (which was, by the way, totally not what he did at most clan meetings. Definitely not.). Willowkit must have been able to sense it, because she stank of anxiety through the entire ceremony, even when she touched noses with Mothwing and got her new name.
Good, Jaykit thought, narrowing his eyes at her. Be afraid. This was only the warm-up; she had no idea what she was in for.
When Willowkit- Willowpaw, now - followed Mothwing into the medicine cat den, Jaykit was there waiting for her.
Willowpaw stopped short. "What's he doing here?" she demanded, briefly forgetting that she was supposed to be groveling at Mothwing's paws or something.
Jaykit made his eyes as big and round as he could. "I jus'- I jus' thought, since Mothwing's already teaching Willowpaw, maybe she could teach me too?" He shuffled his paws, hunching over to make himself look even smaller. "'specially 'cause the nursery's gonna be so empty, with only me there..." he mumbled.
Willowpaw's nostrils flared. "You little... get out of here! Medicine cats only!"
Mothwing watched them both wordlessly. Jaykit tried to look as small and helpless and innocent as he could, which wasn't difficult when one was a Windclan-sized blind kit who probably weighed less than a chipmunk soaking wet.
"Jaykit..." Mothwing said at last, voice trembling faintly with emotion. Jaykit and WIllowpaw waited with bated breath. Just when he was about to snap with irritation, she lunged forward, scooping both of them into her arms. Jaykit screeched and flailed angrily, slapping Willowpaw across the face, who shrieked and flailed in response. Either unnoticing or uncaring, Mothwing squeezed them tighter. "I'm so happy you both want to be medicine cats! I've dreamed of this for so long, you don't even know!" Willowpaw attempted to kick Jaykit in the face and ended up driving her foot into Mothwing's stomach. With a muted oof, Mothwing toppled over backwards, bringing both of them down with her.
"Now look what you've done," Jaykit mumbled through a mouthful of Mothwing's fur.
Willowpaw didn't say anything, but he could feel her eyes burning through his pelt. Just you wait, Jaykit promised her silently. This is just the beginning.

i was gonna post about this yesterday but instead i got distracted playing hollow knight for literally eight hours straight but i started a fucking item/room randomizer run for the first time and i’ve seen some on yt so i kinda know how to go about them but i spawned in ancestral mound and i was standing literally right next to an item and tHE FIRST ITEM I GOT WAS MANTIS CLAW LIKE HOW DID I GET THE FUCKING GOD SEED ON MY FIRST TRY
#echo spambles#i literally got every mobility upgrade *before* mothwing cloak like I could double jump before dashing it was so cursed lMAO#it's times like this where I dearly wish I recorded my games because it was just. so fucking funny#i had geo clusters as a part of the randomization and i spawned where a geo cluster would have been so i turned and picked it up#and just sat there laughing for a solid five minutes it was SO fucking good holy shit#like this 100% sounds like something that someone would make up for likes or w/e but it actually fucking happened#ok TECHNICALLY it wasn't my *first* one but the other three i started glitched out real bad cause the mods i downloaded weren't working#so i couldn't pause or open any menu whatsoever so i lost those three saves#so it was my first *working* one but like. sTILL#opened most of the map up by now though and still can't find nailsmith.#yaknow how hard it is to progress when all you have for damage is the old nail and unbreakable strength??? queen's gardens is HELL#like at least i have the strength charm but that's it m'dude#it's depressing. like i could probably find another room past the watcher knights but they take like 50 hits each i can't do that shit man
